We are in the month of July and it is 91 degrees in this restaurant!! Could not even enjoy the food! Was it good? Flavorful? Who knows because it's too hot to eat the food!!! Avoid this place! How are you not trying to make your customers comfortable. Also, to all wondering if maybe it's because the AC wasn't operating properly... it was freezing in the restroom! The hostess let us know that Management just doesn't care. read more

I'm vegetarian so I don't eat the seafood, but I love the sides! I love potatoes, and these are some of the best taters I've ever had in my life. The first time I tried them, I was like, I didn't know potatoes could taste like this! The sauce! The corn is really good, too. I also love the hush puppies and cajun fries. And they have rice. I always get the potatoes, corn, hush puppies, fries, and rice, and mix them all together in a bowl. This time I added some Beyond sausage link and it was great with everything. I've since tried potatoes and corn from a couple other creole/cajun/seafood boil places, and Captain Crab is my favorite. P.S. The potatoes!!! read more

The food was excellent! Deep fried shrimp and family bake were amazing. You get lots of food with your meal.

For 4, we ordered Captains combo with 1 lb Dungeness crab, 2 lbs head on shrimp and 1 lb manila clams. And we also ordered 1 lbs crawfish & another lb of head on shrimp. The fried oysters basket with cajun fries was good too. Would definitely come back next time! read more

Service good, ambiance casual, little cheesy but fun. Had the boil- garlic butter & lemon pepper as seasonings were great. Dont spend $ on King Crab - save it for the coast. But did good job on lobster tails, green mussels, potatoes, corn & hardboiled eggs. read more

Customer service great but needs more greetings when walk in. Food was delicious and yum. Worth of money. I like spicy. Waiting time takes awhile to get seated and area is clean. read more

Fast service. The shrimp and dungeonous were very good and flavor was on point. Oysters were fresh. I'm thinking better flavoring than first/Bullard and river park but that's imo. Totally recommended!! read more

Food was ok. Not remarkable. ‍ My 6 year old daughter asked for chicken strips and a salad. First ridiculousness is that they had to ask the manager if they could replace carb-loaded fries with a SALAD?! That's insane. Secondly, the manager said NO?! What in the world? So, my child was forced to order an adult-sized salad since she had her heart set on vegetables. If you are teaching your children a healthier lifestyle by limiting carbs, do NOT come here for this menu nonsense! Was not impressed. read more

Super super super good. I had the low county boil. Volcano spicy with the captain mix. Spiciness was pretty prefect. I'm someone who loves crazy hot things and captain crab's most spicy option def brings the heat. The heat felt similar to the heat from serrano peppers. The meal could def feed two people or 1 very hungry person. I couldn't quite finish it all myself. The staff was kind, and the water tasted good too. My fingers still smell like crab boil and that's a bit awesome lol ( I did wash them with soap too) They also have a large selection of fried foods too. The fried catfish looks interesting. I hope they have a long and successful business where their at. Thank you for the amazing food! read more

Great food and atmosphere positive vibes. Customer service was great along with that always give them a great tip. Friendly fast, bathroom was also clean. Wife really enjoyed it and liked it. Flavors can be really similar too Bubba Gump shrimp if you go with the max captain flavor. Will def return thanks Chole our waitress for the positive experience read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff we came 45 minutes before closing, and they did not want to seat us and were standoffish about it. Captain Crab - Seafood Boil - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Clovis, California

If I could do half a star review I would. I ate here for the first time ever, and it is definitely going to be the last time. Nice little place, and nice people too. But, as far as the food. I got a regular seafood boil. It was cold when it arrived to my table, and the garlic butter sauce was not flavored whatsoever. It tasted watered down, if you could even water down butter. There was crab legs, sausage, and shrimp and one boiled egg, and potatoes and corn.. out of all of that... MAYBE the shrimp was OKAY. the crab was alriiiGHT. it was very little meat inside. bay bay ah crab. and don't get me started on the sausages. i'm not sure WHAT kind of sausage it was, but the casing on it was tough and would fall off when I took bites out of it. Potatoes and corn were probably the only normal thing. I had a cup of ice and sink water as my drink. The only thing I genuinely liked was, the fact I could dispose of my shells, into a trash can bucket. It was an OKAY meal. but not the best seafood boil around in Fresno. Now, as I'm walking out, I got thee WORST stomach pains. I feel like all that food is just floating around in my stomach acid right at the top of my gut. I've been nauseous for FIVE hours after eating that. I haven't passed a bowel movement since, but I'm ending this review right here to see if I can upchuck it in the toilet. Please. For the love of GOD, do not come here and give this establishment your hard-earned money. read more

I hate that I'm giving this place such a low rating, I really wanted to like it since seafood boils are me and my family's thing. We got the family special deal with the captain special seasoning/medium spice and to our surprise, there wasn't much flavor to it. It mainly tasted like butter with a few areas that were salty. Normally medium spice elsewhere is enough to get a good kick but it felt like there wasn't any spice added to our seafood. The biggest disappointment was the crab meat was VERY salty. My family couldn't continue eating much of it but I managed to finish it after asking for lemons to drench it in to mask the saltiness. The service was friendly, however, we felt rushed in the end and noticed that one of the employees was standing by and watching our table. We didn't feel comfortable to finish our drinks so we left and noticed they quickly went to clean our table as we were walking out. I get it, they want to be on top of cleanliness but I think there is a way to go about so the customer doesn't notice that they are being watched. I know this business just recently opened so I may try it again in the future and hopefully I have a better experience then. read more

i love this place sooo much. im from LA and their food exactly reminds me of boiling crab and another local seafood boil place. the food is SPOT ON!! i always order the captain special with the house special sauce and medium spicy. its so good !!! the service is always friendly whenever i dine in :) i highly recommend coming here if you're ever craving seafood boil! the enviroment is so nice as well read more

TLDR: super salty crab, dull sauce, all other seafood tasted fresh and had good texture. Good service. 3.5/5 if I had the option. I'm honestly so sad I couldn't give it a full five stars! The service was good and quick. Restaurant was big, nice and clean. I was super excited about it! We ordered the family meal (?). The option was 1lb of crab, 2lbs of the other options. We chose shrimp and crawfish then added in a 1/2 lb of mussels. Those three options were great. Perfect texture and fair price for the food. Where things went wrong was the crab. It was so so sooo salty we didn't finish it. I thought maybe our taste was off and brought it home for my mom & aunt. They both had one leg and said their appetite was gone. I'm not sure if they boil it in salt water or something but felt like a whole container of salt was in the meat. The other issue which is a bit odd is there was almost no flavor in the sauce. We got their mixed sauces for the bag and a lemon pepper on the side. Both sauces tasted like nothing. No spice, no salt, no lemon, just butter lol. To be fair the sauce tasted 100% better the next day. I might come back and give it a try if I'm in the area because it looks like everyone else loves this place. read more

Hands down the best seafood boil place I ever been to. Went there this Saturday night with 3 friends, the whole restaurant is pretty much filled up, however, we didn't need to wait too long to be seated. We ordered the family special with snow crab and shrimp to share, got that captain special seasoning with medium spicy and it was so good and flavorful! We ended up order another pound of shrimp. Lol Oh man l, my belly was full and happy. To top it off, our server was really attentive and quick. Will be back soon read more

Each time I order take out my shrimp bag is always ripped from the bottom and my shrimp is always undercooked (has an extra fishy taste and is always extra chewy). I have no complaints how it taste when I sit down and eat it in the restaurant but I don't understand why they can't put the same effort when I order take out? Also every-time I order take out I don't even get a single lemon, today I bought two pounds and no lemon read more

Not sure what to say. Got home with my take out order. 1 pound of crawfish and 1 pound of shrimp with head on. It all came out to 12 crawfish and 12 shrimp with head on. A potatoe and a corn. Can someone please explain to me what 1 pound is because this does not look like one pound. $36 for all of this? I am not sure if I'm going to be coming back. My bf and I came TWICE within a week lol, which is surprising to me because he always wants something different every time we go out. The first time we came was during their grand opening; we've been eyeing this place since we first saw it was coming and was super excited because there's finally a seafood boil in Clovis! Now we didn't have to go deep into Fresno to get it since we live on the edge of Clovis. Even for their grand opening I was skeptic because duh, they're new but the flavor was already on point. Food: We had popcorn crawfish and calamari as appetizers, then ordered the family combo with snow crabs and 2lbs of shrimp. My bf loves the popcorn crawfish from there. The breading is light with just enough crunch, not heavily battered or soggy like some places. I know everyone does seafood boil in a bag as it's done everywhere like that but I think I prefer it being served in a tray where you don't have to worry about the sauce leaking everywhere and it's easier to dip in, but to each their own. I do agree with others that The sauce was quite salty with a hefty buttery flavor; but I still enjoyed it. Dining: big/clean and spacious! I love the music/vibe from there. I was the happy fat kid eating my food and dancing in my seat cuz the vibe was just perfect. Overall we enjoyed it here, the servers are super nice, very attentive and helpful. It's in a GREAT location. Food is great! Will be coming here from now on! read more

Me and my family went to captain crab for Valentine's Day and going in knowing it was probably going to be a 30 minute wait then got told it was going to be about 30-45 minute wait and so we waited an hour no text or nothing so me and my family came back up to the desk and was told it was going to be another 45 mins after the hour already wait so then we just ordered the food to go and came out in less than 5 mins the food was so good though. read more

Amazing food! The crab, clams and shrimp were all devoured. Our kids loved the idea of bibs and messiness. If you don't have a fish loving kid they have chicken tenders but not many other options. Service was great, the food was also good. The downside to that is its really salty lol. Another thing is there is a lot of oil in the bag. Like i literally could not scoop any sauce with the seafood. If there was less oil and less salt, it would be better. The potatoes were also very soft, softer than other places Ive been to. Edit: Went back for a second chance but found a hair in my food. Took it to go so couldn't drive back across town for a refund read more
