If you request a quote on Yelp they will respond in minutes. We booked the time window we wanted on a Friday afternoon. They hit a little traffic, but called with time to give me a heads up as a courtesy. They were so quick, and cleaned up the traffic stains heading into our kitchen. Don't be fooled by all of the great reviews on here like I was. (Disclaimer: I'm sure they are fine if you just need a routine cleaning, and don't have any staining or dark heavy-traffic areas.) In a nutshell: I needed the carpet cleaned in a new apartment before I moved in. So, I had my carpet cleaned while I was visiting family the East Coast, and I thought it was so easy to coordinate and pay online with them - loved it! But when I got back to Oakland, my carpets didn't look like they had been touched, besides the obvious vacuum lines on the carpet... I thought it was odd, but also just accepted that they were stained and there was nothing that could be done short of replacing them, so I just let it go. Out of curiosity, I mixed up some cleaning solution for this one spot that I was sure was pet urine - I thought it was weird they couldn't get it out. Lo and behold, my solution and some elbow grease got the urine stain right out. After that discovery, I contacted them for a refund (WITH before and after photos of my cleaning) of the unsatisfactory job. I was immediately met with defense about how they don't cover rust stains - but the rust stain was not what I was referring to - it was literally EVERY other stain. They told me they don't do refunds, but that they'd send a tech back out for a redo - fair enough, right? But at this point, all of my stuff had been moved in and the apartment was no longer empty - hell, there was barely room for me to walk around with all the boxes everywhere. They informed me they don't move furniture when they're cleaning, so I declined the redo visit and thanked them and asked for the refund. I was still told no refunds, and that they could send a tech whenever I was ready. I informed them that I don't think a tech coming out and trying again with the SAME equipment is going to fix the problem, and that I'd like to use the money to hire someone else with different equipment. Then the manager started being defensive about how their equipment was 'state of the art' and yadda yadda. I gave up. Unsatisfactory job for almost $200 for two very small bedrooms, with no type of customer guarantee. Find another company that will work to find a solution if you're not happy. read more

Awesome! Danny arrived on time and even called me 20 min before he arrived to let me know when he was arriving. The service was professional and excellent. I have two flights of stairs with no elevator to my unit. He didn't complain at all, I've even been charged before by other companies because of the stairs. But Danny did it all, he completed the task in about an hour. Excellent work. He even went over problem areas multiple times to get the stain out and even did the closet without my asking. Thank you. Pros: He did a GREAT job cleaning my carpet. My carpet had some heavily soiled areas and he deep cleaned the areas without me pointing out the areas. I was able to book them within 48 hours. They're easy to communicate with and was quick with replies. Cons: I don't think he realized it but I am guessing he accidentally lifted the wand and there's dirty, black water all over the walls, baseboards and door near one of the bedrooms (in hard to reach areas, no less). I had my bedroom carpet cleaned, and despite having the window open and a fan running in the room it took weeks to dry. The large stain on the carpet wasn't removed, so that was also disappointing... but the worst part is the smell. I don't think the carpet was properly cleaned because it took an excessive time to dry and as a result the room smells musky. I'm afraid that it's mold... I wish I never did this service because as a result I'll probably have to replace the entire carpet, and maybe more depending on the water damage. read more

I contacted Captain Carpet Care on Thursday, and received an immediate response and quote for cleaning our long stairway and hallway carpet. The price was right ($99), so we went with them and easily made an appointment for the following Sunday from 1-3pm. On Sunday, Joseph texted me that morning, asking if he could come earlier. We weren't able to move the time, but he was cool with it and came promptly at 1pm as scheduled. After assessing our stains and carpet situation, he informed us that a steam clean would probably not do the trick, and recommended that we do a deep clean instead. We went ahead with his recommendation, and our carpet turned out great! It'd been about 2 yrs since we last had it cleaned, so we knew it needed some extra TLC. The Good News: The company responds very quickly with price quotes, and you can quickly book the day and time you need the work done. The technician (and owner) are all efficient, on time, polite, friendly, and easy going. The prices are reasonable, too. The company has a good work ethic and good attitude. They try hard to do a great job. The Bad News: I didn't pay enough attention and, after the initial carpet cleaning, there were still several prominent stains left. So I sent pictures showing all of the stains that were still there, and I asked for the stains to be treated again. They were very prompt in their response which impressed me, and they sent the same technician right away. He was very friendly and easy to work with, both times.
