Placed and order for pick up in route to girls night. Everyone was digging into their food and enjoying the evening and my food tasted horrible. I kept eating because normally Capt Lous is spot on, but this time it was totally off. I then realized when I checked the receipt, it wasn't my order and my son's food was missing. I reached out to the restaurant, and they requested I come back for the replacement. I was unable to do so, and they said a credit would be applied to my phone number. I ended up ordering Chinese for my son and myself. I just called them to honor the replacement order, and they can't find the credit. I order from this place repeatedly and their response was that they can't find it and nothing can be done. I believe in customer service and honoring your word. If they have such impeccable records, they know how many times I ordered in the past. I'm done with Capt Lous as they have zero integrity. read more

I've been to a couple of crab boil establishments in the city, and I'd have to recommend the Lemon Garlic Sauce at Cap't Lou. It has enough of a distinct flavor with not too much heat. Our group ordered a shrimp and lobster combo and was surprised to see a whole Maine Lobster inside! The shrimps were plentiful and our friends left with happy bellies. So excited to have Cap't Loui in Brooklyn location! I went to Pratt and this is just great to have this type of restaurant near the school. I'm a big fan of seafood boil-especially the sauce they serve at Cap't Loui. I personally love lemon pepper sauce with lobster and snow crab and always get the garlic noodles on the side. Love seafood boils so wanted try out this new spot and I was not disappointed. My friends and I got the lobster, shrimp, crawdads, and mussels in Louisiana-style and Lemon Pepper-style. My personal favorite was the lemon pepper style as it had a rich garlic-buttery flavor. When you pick two seafoods in your boil, you get either a choice of seasoned fries or garlic noodles. You can't go wrong with either choice but the garlic noodles were the clear winner. Soak some of your boil sauce with your garlic noodles for a match made in heaven combination. 10/10 would come back again! read more

I went to the 413 Myrtle Ave location in Brooklyn, NY last night. I went to them for a refund for a Soft Shell Crab and Cajun Fries meal I ordered for the first time on Monday evening. The food made me ill that night. I did not finish the food and put it in my refrigerator with the intent to take it back to the restaurant in the morning. This location opened at 4p the next day.  I called them around that time, spoke to Eimon, and let her know what happened and that I was coming back with the leftover food and requesting a refund. She told me to come at 6:30p when the manager, Mr. Charles, was there. I went to the restaurant at 6:30p and was greeted by Eimon and she went to get Mr. Charles. When Mr. Charles arrived, he proceeded to tell me he could not give me a refund. He then explained the operational refund policy for the franchise. He also added that since no one else reported complaints about the food, he would need a doctor's note from me as documented proof of the food sickness to attach to the refund request to headquarters. I told him I did not see a doctor, and was not going to see one as I was fine after I regurgitated the food. I then asked him for proof that there was nothing wrong with the food. He told me, "I took the food to the back and opened up the crab and ate it, and it was fine". I asked him to eat the food again, in front of me, because I did not believe him. He picked up the food and split a crab in half with his fingers and said angrily, "If I eat this will you go away"? I said, "No. But I want to see you eat the food. We are in the middle of COVID and you're telling me you ate my food from last night and since it tasted fine, that is proof it did not make me sick"? He never ate the food in front of me and still refused to give me a refund. I told him I would hate to get the police involved. He said, "call the police". So I did. Officers Keane and Schroder showed up and talked to me, then talked to him, and he still refused to give the refund. Even after asking Mr. Charles three times what COULD he do to satisfy a unsatisfied paying customer, never once did he provide a solution. Customers who witnessed Mr. Charles' behavior and treatment towards me spoke up about it but left when they saw how unreasonably harsh he was being. Contacting the police was solely based on principle. It's a shame it went that far. Overall, this was too much drama for an $18.45 refund. DON'T DO IT! 9/11/20 Update - My bank issued a full $18.45 credit this week. read more

I been passing this place for months now and finally gave it a try. I got mine delivered. Food came hot and fresh. I got a mussle and shrimp boil with the mild capt loui sauce. I love heat and I feel like the mild had a good kick. It made my nose run. So be careful if you don't like heat. The boil bag came with about 10 mussels, 10 shrimp, 2 potatoes, 2 corn. Very good serving size for the price. It came with gloves and a bib. I will definitely use this place for my seafood fix. Only one tinyyyy issue I had was there was a bit too much salt. Not enough to make the food taste bad. But if your health conscious you would think twice. Over all good spot for a delivery of a nice seafood boil. read more

I love eating seafood so I was very happy when my friends and I decided to eat here. We were seated right away and the servers were very kind and attentive. The restaurant was clean and the tables were prepared. They gave us bibs and gloves which were great to use. We ordered two different orders and both bags of seafood were delicious! The lemon pepper seasoning stood out to me the most. Mixing the sauce with the garlic noodles was heavenly! I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant soon. read more

I ordered the streamed shrimp. They were seasoned very well. HOWEVER, the seasoning was drenched in oil( my stomach is gonna hate me later) AND the shrimp were super small almost babies. So small I was surprised the vein was removed. Who took the time‍20 bucks for greasy small shrimp ! Soooo not worth it! I still don't understand how steamed turns into a bag of grease. read more

My son & daughter took me to Cap't Loui on Myrtle ave in Brooklyn, NY yesterday for the first time for my Birthday. My son said oh you going to love this place. It's not a big place, but it's the best place to have seafood. The service was great and the food was awesome. I will be going back real soon. The boiler combo was the best and that Louisana sauce was great. My grandson had the Chicken tender basket and the chicken was good. I give this place an A-plus. keep up the good work. Service & food was horrible. Before I posted a negative review I tried to resolve the issue both in the restaurant during and also by reaching out to management via direct messaging. However this restaurant was not concerned with their customer's needs or issues /complaints about negative experiences. I'm going to believe this isn't an isolated incident. Let me begin w/ my watered down drink. A bag packed w/ ice & absolutely no alcohol in sight. I ordered the pic 2 the sauce was great however I had to take my food home to finish cooking it. Disgusted to bite into the blue crab and have it ooze in your mouth because it wasn't completely cooked. So, of course I immediately said something to my server who told me he was going to speak to someone. He came back to tell me that that's not the case that everything is set to a timer. Every order is prepared the same way. I proceeded to stick my finger in it and show him body of the crab was jelly & oosing out. Apparently he said that the blue crab was "very frozen" when it was taken out of the freezer before they prepared it. He added that they didn't want to overcook the seafood cause "that very bad". If the blue crab was "very frozen" why not check it to make sure that it was up to temperature or that it was fully cooked. The reasturant wasn't busy. Only about 7 customers. Went I went to use the bathroom I noticed why the manager couldn't be bothered to make hisself available. They were in the back taking picture. They had a whole set up with their cameras, lighting & food. Entire production going on. Patron are not spending their hard-earned money for food that isn't prepared adequately for consumption. The preparer knew it was still frozen when he put it the steamer and didn't consider the cook time needed to adjusted. Instead he told me I needed to take it home and steam it if I wanted to or I could just throw it out. My belief is this isn't an isolated incident. Can't understand why the service towards me was so inconsiderate and blatantly dismissive. And had the audacity to try to press me for a tip. Never cross my foot in here again read more

I just so happened to see this place while I was walking around in the neighborhood and decided to pop in to try it out. I told the woman taking orders that it was my first time there and asked for some recommendations. She suggested the shrimp in louisiana sauce and the calamari with lemon pepper fries. And, I ordered a side of garlic noodles. The food was delicious and so rich in flavor and the portions were generous for the price. Though everything was tasty, my favorite thing was the sauce, which we saved even after we finished the shrimp. We poured it on everything we ate for the next two days -- rice, salad, buttered toast, etc. So good. Can't wait to come back and try out more from the menu. read more

I came here today with my 2 friends and it was below average. The crab legs were extremely small making u work extremely hard to crack the legs and find some type of meat if there is any. The bags they put ur food is bigger than the food ur actually getting. The shrimps are every small so I advise you to get the head on shrimp if u want some type of length because everything including the corn and potatoes are measure to the tea! They didn't have alcohol yet so that was a bust. I advise that if you come make sure u order more food if you wanna get full and drink a lot of juice and water! I came on a Saturday evening around 8 pm. We were a party of two. It seemed like they were a little short staffed and it took a long time for us to get seated. When we finally sat we waited 20 minutes and we never received a menu or even a cup of water. We decided to leave. The place was getting more crowded and the few staff members were doing the best they could but I assumed it would just continue to be a night of waiting and being frustrated. We went to the restaurant next door. Also it was freezing!! People kept on their jackets and hats. I doubt I will go back. Certainly not to eat in. Maybe delIvery is a better bet. read more

Ordered the mild crab boil .. delicious. Just the right amount of heat.. sauce very good, had me wanting more. Only complaint was not enough corn and potatoes half of a potato and a skimpy piece of corn on the cob. The drinks was really good, I had Crab legs with Shrimp, the crab legs are very little and the shrimp was very small, I had potato's in the bag that were not cut up, the garlic noodles was good.
