This restaurant is 20 minutes walk from the train station. When you walk in you will feel like youre om a old ship. The menu can be seen on the wall if you would like to order more food. This spot is very quiet. Now lets talk about food. Everything was good except the calamari. The calamari becomes overcooked and rubbery while being stuffed in the bags. Very disappointing experience. Got takeout and the portion size was so small I ended up getting something else afterwards. I have never had a lobster bake where I ended up still hungry after. The shells were also not cracked and this is takeout so I didn't have the right tools. Ended up using a wooden fixture to smash the bag. The sauce didn't really marinate and it came with the smallest piece of potato and corn. Not worth the price at all. read more

Absolutely, the best seafood boil I ever had!!! the crab legs were filled with meat, a little pricey, but worth it for what I got. I'm definitely going back. I love how they offer a hair tie for your hair. There is sinks right for you to wash up and then give you scissors to cut the crab legs , which makes eating so much easier!! I was at home on a lazy day off, craving seafood and boozy beverages. Found Cap't Loui online. I've passed this restaurant several times in real life but I have never tried the food. I ordered a delivery of a seafood boil, with two classic Margaritas. Everything SLAPPED! Omg...hot, juicy snow crab legs that slid easily out of the shell. The corn was sweet. Shrimps were clean and yummy. The sauce was spicy-not all soupy and the rest of the goodies were PERFECT! I underestimated the alcohol levels in the Margarita and ordered two. I was hit after two sips. Super intense but really delicious l. I really enjoyed my boozy, tasty meal. Being greedy, I went for round two a day later. Honestly, it was lacking. Maybe because I added the garlic pasta noodles to this boil bag??? It was just NOT the same. The sauce went from saucy to loose, the seafood lacked color and the noodles were bland. Ordered from here for my solo Christmas dinner. Food was made very quickly and thus came very quickly. I ordered a 2 combo with a pound of crawfish, a whole Dungeness crab, hot Louisiana sauce, and a soft shell crab basket. Absolutely DEVOURED the boil and two of the three soft shell crabs. Ate the remaining one for breakfast along with the Cajun fries. I told my family that we have to go in person because wow it was so good! I ordered delivery via Grubhub - it was absolutely delicious. The crawfish are in the smaller side, but the clams are large cherry stone clams! Each boil comes with corn and potatoes. Gloves and a bib were included in the delivery ordered. I really appreciated the fact that they double bagged the boil- there were no leaks at all. Nice seafood boil restaurant! While the sauce options are limited, the Loui sauce is very good, and this place makes up for it with a good variety of seafood and yummy garlic noodles! Seriously don't just get the corn and potato, the noodles are a must here. Their spice levels are pretty good too, though I still wanted a bit more from the hottest option. They also have really yummy Capri sun cocktails - the Ms.Green was deliciously sour and super refreshing! The dining experience is pretty casual, which is nice for something like this. It seems this place doesn't get too crowded usually, at least on weekdays, which gave us a lot of space and privacy. Ordered for delivery The food was still warm when delivered and nothing spilled. Came with aprons, gloves and like little plates. Got the combo 2 seafood. I didn't know it came with potatoes and sausage and corn already (wish it said that in the description so I didn't pay for extra) I like how they have easy peel shrimp here where the shrimp is deveined. The food was cooked well and good amount of food for 2 people. For the sauce I did mild of the capt Loui sauce and unfortunately it was just okay to me. It was a little bland and watery compared to various other seafood boils I had. Wish it was more garlic and butter. Solid. Not amazing, but solid. Being a seafood lover I've been waiting to try Cap't Loui ever since they opened a few weeks ago. I wasn't disappointed. First off, the ambiance is a bit anonymous except for the exposed brick wall with a large crab and lobster painted in white. Nice for a group, to just unwind with a friend, or to watch a ball game; not my first choice for a date or if the in-laws are visiting. We had the boiler combo: crawfish and shrimp in Louisiana sauce, hot, and garlic noodles. Both the crawfish and shrimp were nice in size and tasty; the Louisiana sauce was flavorful, and the hotness level fine if you like spicy. The garlic noodles were perfectly cooked and had lots of flavor: simple, tasty, al dente. And a redic amount of garlic! We also had the fried oysters with lemon pepper fries. The oysters were nice and plump, perfectly fried, not greasy. The fries were fine, but I couldn't really taste the lemon pepper. This was quite a lot of food for two people, as the boiler combo was generous in size and also included corn and potatoes. Unless you're super-hungry, you'll be ok with just the boil. A couple suggestions: - The use of plastic is decidedly eccessive and borderline worrisome. Plastic forks, plastic bibs, plastic gloves, plastic straws, plastic glasses, etc... I don't think any of the items we were given was recyclable. I understand for takeout, but are plastic utensils and plastic glasses really necessary when you're sitting down at a restaurant? It gives a cafeteria feel that seems totally unnecessary. - Get somebody to work on the playlist. The music was like a cover band of Cindy Lauper on repeat. -They don't serve alcohol yet, but the future beer list could do with some good quality, tasty brews. read more

Ordered from here on a weekend trip in Brooklyn because I was craving seafood. Ordered fried shrimp, cajun fries, soft shell crab and lemon pepper fries. I enjoyed the shrimp and the lemon pepper fries. However, the soft shell crab was was pretty plain and the cajun fries were too spicy for me (some people may like that but I did not). The goal is to become the go to of where to eat at in Brooklyn. There are some colorful things that I would love to add to this review but I can't, lol. Anywho, within the past 3 years there has definitely been an emergence of seafood boil like places popping up in and around Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. They aim to serve us fresh seafood prepared in a seasoning of choice. Some places include the sausage, potato and corn and others make you pay. This location included the potato and corn! So I felt the seafood was rather over priced and was not the freshest. Cap't Loui opened up a few months ago in the Clinton hill section of Brooklyn and became quite packed on the mild Saturday that I decided to patronage the business. Now let's get back to business. Since the seafood boil options were a bit pricey in my eye, I was unable to splurge on an appetizer like I usually do. The seafood included several types of crab legs, shrimp with head on or off, mussels, clams and lobster. If you order combos of 2 or more seafood options then you can get extras. On this visit, I was able to earn garlic noddles which were pretty darn tasty. The sauce options were minimal and came out more greasy than seasoning like. The seafood also tasted like they didn't prepare a nice pot of seasoning before either steaming or boiling the seafood. I met add as well that the lemon pepper fries are omg yummy yummy. Drinks were also ordered and tasted okay. I do want to note that on this day of my visit, I felt like they could have done a better job with seating people in particular how people were sat to make better us of the space. There was no maitre'd and people had to stand around waiting to be served. I later found out that someone had called out sick. I was empathetic to this fact but the other customers who did not know were not. In fact, one table walked out and rightfully so as they prolly waited over 45 minutes before getting food. I really want this place to be a hit. I suggest working to have more staff on hand as I do see this place picking up steam in the future. I would come back to try some of the appetizers. I have been meaning to try here out since I first saw it. It's great to have a seafood boiling option in the neighborhood. Very chill layout. I initially wanted to do takeout but changed my mind because the environment was inviting and friendly. A very diverse group of patrons were eating as well. I asked a couple about their feedback about the food and they both told me was worth it. Give it a shot. I ordered the options of four, clams, mussels, blue crab and shrimp with the head on with their signature sauce. It comes with a free lobster or snow crab legs. I ordered mild. The food came and it was piping hot. After the first bite I immediately readjusted my taste buds because this Mild is hot. I guess mild is subjective and I should have ordered regular. The seafood food packs a punch in flavor. A serious punch. In heat too. I enjoyed the food. It was great. I would suggest allowing the food to cool down before eating. I learned that the hard way. All in all, I suggest giving it a shot. The complimentary mouthwash in the bathroom is a nice touch. read more

I heard good things about this spot so I decided to order lunch for my staff today . We placed an order for about 10-12 people : The entire order was correct! I had someone pick it up so I don't know about delivery . Next time I will try since I see in the website they deliver . The food is amazing !! I had the soft shell crabs and the garlic pasta . The dish was fried . The seasoning on the crabs is so darn good ! All the fried dishes come with fries and a variety of sauces including Tartar , Ketchup and Cajun sauce . The boils .. I decided to avoid a boil since I didn't want to worry about the mess at work. Well don't you know about 6 of my staff got the boils and they come in a plastic bag and you get a bib! Next time I'll order it! We ordered shrimp boil , a think there's a crawfish boil and seafood boil . You pick you sides to go in the bag and they are extra. (sausage , corn etc) . Came here last night as my group and myself were excited for the Grand opening. I was sure to save my appetite as I knew we would indulge in some much craved Seafood. We were immediately seated as the space stretches out to the back. We arrived around 7:30 pm and there were probably 3 tables currently eating. Throughout the evening the tables were filling up, but were served and seated promptly as well. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Once you're seated, you're provided a table mat for the mess you will soon create - Yes...no matter how neat you are, this meal will surely prove you wrong...lol..with that said, once seated, we were given our menus and asked to make our selections which entailed of various seafood entrees such as Clams, Mussels, Crab legs, shrimp and Lobster. The price point for the selections are quite a bit high compared to other Boil locations - be prepared. The combo meals do not provide any cost saving benefits as the prices are laid out as is and do not include bulk pricing. My group and I smartened up in order to be able to sample as much and saving as much as we could financially. With the 4 of us anxiously awaiting, we selected two combo meals which included an assortment of Crab Legs, King Crab Legs, Clams and Shrimp. The combos came with an option of Louisiana sauce or Lemon Pepper - we got both. Additionally you get an option of Garlic Noodles or French Fries - we chose the Garlic noodles. The combos also come with corn on the cob and potato. Our selection came out shortly after ready for the devouring - did we ever! The emulsion of spices penetrated the seafood which made for finger linkin' good pleasures. The Seafood was fresh and flavorful, the Garlic noodles were tender enough with flavor and firm enough to enjoy. There was a minor mistake which was casually overlooked. The Manager apologized and thanked us for our patronage - He promptly brought out a complimentary dessert which was super sweet (no pun intended) and not necessary - much appreciated! I've been going to capt' t Loui for a least a year now and the food always hits the spot. But we went last night, and ended up getting food poisoning this morning. I'm not sure how because like I said I've eaten here more than once. We ordered a pretty expensive dinner. I ordered king crabs and shrimp, my boyfriend ordered a whole lobster and shrimp and we shared a noodles. Both had two strawberry lemonades. It came out to be like $200, which isn't the problem. It's like went spent all this money to have us running to the bathroom. The food was good but never had this happen. The server was super nice. He turned the game on for us so we can enjoy our food with some entertainment. That's the only reason why this review is getting two stars because of him. This new location is fairly new. I've been to their location in Harlem before and have enjoyed it. This place was no different! The boils are generous and so flavorful! Their sauces are what make the meal great and elevate the experience that much more. Honestly my favorite is the lemon pepper - that peppery kick in the sauce is just a party of flavors! My group of friends and I tried all the seafood, and all were good honestly. My personal preference is lobster and shrimp but my friends enjoyed all the variety of seafood. Those garlic noodles you ordered? Just use your hands and dunk the noodles in the sauce in the boil bag. Yes, it might be a messy but you're wearing gloves already! I'm sure based on most of my reviews it's a no brainer, I love seafood, lol. A friend of mine invited me here for dinner for night as a makeup birthday dinner. The place is a decent size, not that big at all. For the drinks/food; I ordered the Rose and the pick two boiler combo. My combo had crab legs and mussels in the Louisiana sauce with a side of garlic noodles. The sauce was amazing...you can smell the aromas from blocks away, my only gripe about the crab legs are they are wayyyyyy too small. Their size is super rare, I've actually never had crab legs that small. The mussels were great and the garlic noodles were my personal fave! Would I go back, sure!
