We ate here 4 times during our 7 day vacation. We ate something different each time. Italian food was good and the 1/2 lb. fresh beef hamburger was as good as home cooked. Loved the place it. Service was friendly and good. Will be back. read more

Best place to eat in Red River. Very clean with a good verity of things to order! Great location 1 minute from the main ski lift and minutes from the best hotels in town. Service here rocks also! read more

Order 2 pizzas for takeout. Service was fast and friendly. Pizzas were very good with a good ratio of sauce and toppings. Crust isn't too thin more like hand tossed. Will order from here again. read more

TERRIBLE and ridiculously overpriced. For this quality of food everything should be $10 less than it is. I dont know how this place can stay in business. My spaghetti only came with a tiny bit of sauce and was so bland and dry. The fettucini had no flavor at all. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

We were there during Spring break (week of 3/10) and despite the negative reviews on here decided to check it out. We had a good sized party (4 adults, 4 kids) and got seated within 15 minutes (not bad for how busy this town is). I am not sure if the other reviewers on here had something tricked up but we stuck to the basics...pizza and calzones. The food was very good and the service was fantastic. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The salads that came with the meal were very good and much better than you get at other places. If you are there, give it a try! read more

Extremely expensive for pizza, so I would have expected better quality. The crust was flavorless (think a softer saltine cracker w/o salt) and the cheese was rubbery. The only reason I gave 2 stars rather than 1 is that the sauce tasted good. We got the pizza to go, so I can't comment on the atmosphere or service. read more

Really did not care for this place. I don't understand how an Italian restaurant can serve spaghetti that is not as good as mine that I make with Ragu! My kids had pizza and I swear they tasted frozen. Unbelievably bad food, hard to believe people eat there more than once. read more

I stayed a week in Red River and I went to Capo's 4x. Yum! The salads are so good. The eggplant parmesan was great. Pizza's were really good. Portions are large so you can share. The house Merlot in the small carafe poors about 4 glasses so a real bargain at $9.50! read more

Wow after some bad experiences the days before at other restaurants we were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was! Bread was amazing! Entrees have large portions and they even recommended us eating of kids menu if it was something we liked. We had the chicken parm and loved it! Kid enjoyed their salad and pizzas. The food looked good, but all we got to do was see it. It was unbelievably slow service. We might have caught them on a bad night, maybe they were short handed?, but the reason for the one star is the staff are just so very awful . Saturday dinner in Red River off-season is slim pickings. Our goal was Texas Reds, but it wasn't open. Capos was open so we tried it. After recovering from price sticker shot, we ordered. Usually my friend and I share an entree but Capos charges $2.50 so we just ordered dinner salads. Hubby had eggplant parmesan which he said was average. So, my recommendation is to try somewhere else. High prices, mediocre food. read more

We had a great experience! Had a group of ten and didn't have to wait long at all on a busy Friday night. We had great service and excellent food. The food here is homemade, and that is hard to find in Red River. The portions are large enough to share so that helps with the price. Remember, this is a small town so the prices for quality will be a little more. Service was friendly and fast. We had combo plate with Alfredo, lasagna, and manicotti. The pizza looked and smelled great. This is definitely a place to try when you are in town. Great selection of beer as well. read more

Went on the advice of a local. Worst pasta ever. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo. The pasta was way over cooked, the sauce had no flavor. My husbands Eggplant Parmesan was over cooked and dry. Another in our party ordered pizza and said it was just ok, the crust was soggy. Service was great, but unfortunately the horrible excuse for Italian food brought the rating back down. read more

The food was delicious and well seasoned. We started with the fried artichoke hearts. My husband had the green chile stew, it had a bite but was good. We both got pasta with meatballs, the difference in size between a full and a half order is not much. I ordered a 1/2 order of rigatoni and got 2 meatballs, he ordered a full order of spaghetti and got 2 meatballs and a little bit more pasta. Our waiter, Tim, was really nice and offered excellent suggestions. Bonus... they have a great beer selection compared to some other restaurants in town. read more

Had lunch here yesterday, and was fairly impressed. Some positives-they let you order off the kid's menu (no age restriction). The kid's portion was also a satisfactory smallish meal for an adult and a salad was included-a deal! I ordered the Italian meatball sandwich and split it with my husband. The meatballs were well seasoned with herbs, albeit a bit dry. The sauce and bread was good. Some negatives-the French fries were soggy (I didn't even finish them, a shocker for me) and there is a $3 shared plate charge. However, it was nice that they portioned the meal out onto 2 plates for us. One thing that did impress me was how clean the high chair was that they brought for my 7 month old. Several reasons made me post a review. We went to have pizza and beer. They had an appetizer of fried ravioli on "special" for $18. When we received it, the ravioli looked a lot like fried Totinos pizza rolls and were a little over fried. There may have been 10-12 of them. They were out of our first beer choice due to the Christmas holiday so 3 of us ordered Blue Moon beer and were asked if we wanted lemon or lime with it, we said how about an orange slice and we got a hard no. My husband asked for his Dos XX dressed and the waitress brought him his own lime and gave him the salt shaker and said he could dress his own. They ran out of Blue Moon before the pizza was served. We had a party of 10 and had reservations. Reservations were at 5:45 and our food was served around 7:15. We didn't see our waitress at all for around 25 minutes at a time. Best Italian food in Taos County! Friendly and attentive staff. We ordered Artichoke dip for our app, it was just a little bland. For our entrees, we shared the Capo's special, and the Manicotti. Both were more than appetizing. The Capo's special was different, in the way that they use roast beef instead of a traditional Italian sausage/another Italian meat. We both liked the marinara sauce, you can tell they have their own recipe and it was very good. I had the Manicotti, it really was good and we'll be back. read more

Capos is my favorite in Red River. The friendly staff makes this place tops on my list. They do an amazing pizza along with traditional Italian offerings. Nice choice of wine and beer (I really like the wicker basket Chianti) as it goes really well with anything on the menu. Check out the Tilapia if you are in the mood for something different with an Italian twist. Desserts are plentiful and really good. If I am in town, chances are good you will see me there! read more

I eat here at least 4 to 5 times a year. Sometimes by myself sometimes with family. I always have house salad, green chile stew, and 1/2 order of rigatoni sausage. Family has other dishes from lasagna to pizza. None has ever complained about the taste or quality. Compared to a $5 hamburger the prices may be pricie, but seem to me to be in line with moderately priced restaurants in Texas. read more
