If it were possible to give a zero, this place deserves it. Where to start? Group of 15, stretch seated us reasonably quickly at 3 tables which was fine (we said to do so) but that's the only good thing about this place. The service was abominable. Maybe when the waiter figured he had his guaranteed 20% gratuity he just decided "whatever". Drinks came out piecemeal, except for the people who asked for water who NEVER got their water all night (I had to go to the bar to get some for them). Then the food. Oh, the food. Orders were completely screwed up (unless having hair in your burger is standard there). Three people ordered the beyond burger. It was only when the food was finally being served an hour after we ordered that the waiter said "oh, we're out of beyond burgers. Can I get you something else?" Even then, people who had ordered at the beginning didn't get their food until AFTER the replacement orders came out 30 min later... and had been consumed. They didn't have Caesar dressing for the Caesar salads so the people who ordered those got literally a lettuce salad. No offer of an alternative dressing. Just plain lettuce with croutons and a sprinkle of cheese. And iced tea. They ran out (how??). So the guy who ordered the Arnold Palmer was served a lemonade. The others who ordered iced tea just didn't get it. It's a tea bag and boiling water for f**ks sake. A 9 year old could make it. Add to that having food we didn't order on the bill, which was only taken off after arguing with the host. For our troubles, 10% taken off the bill, but the tip remained untouched. So to start, we entered the restaurant and there were only 2 tables, both having 2 guest each, so it was NOT busy at all. It said "wait to be seated," which we did for over 6 minutes while a male server observed us and did nothing. A female came out and finally sat us. We placed our drink orders and waited over 10 minutes for those to reach us. My daughter's drink was forgotten, and the bottled beer my husband ordered was also not served. We asked for my daughter's drink (we were thinking since the beer came from the bar she just hadn't brought it), and we observed the waitress go to the bar and pour the orange juice. She brings it to the table in a wine glass with no beer. It didn't look right so I tasted it and it was carbonated similar to a mimosa. Mind you, it's important to mention here the waitress was very obviously high. It was very awkward conversing with her because she was overly nice and her processing time was delayed; I had no idea someone could be "too nice!" 2 more people walked in and chose the outdoor seating. After nearly half an hour (yes, we were there for a very long time because of how long it took to get anything we ordered), the couple walked out as nobody took their order. Mind you, the male sever was seated at the bar on his phone almost the entire time we were there. My husband finally asks for his beer, which the waitress finally brought him. Our food finally gets to the table and it all aesthetically looked decent. Our kids hamburgers were dry as could be, and the buns seemed stale. My chicken fried steak was ok. I ordered green chili gravy and did not receive that. The gravy I did get was meh, and very heavy. The mashed potatoes were homemade, which I appreciated. The salsa smelled and tasted like marinara sauce, and the "queso" was just canned nacho cheese with nothing else in it. The chips were old, and lacked a good crunch. We are not picky people so even when service is not great, it usually doesn't bother us, but this whole experience rubbed us all the wrong way. We definitely would never go back, or suggest anyone eat here. The food was very overpriced and mediocre at best. The wait time for every single thing we ordered was ridiculous, and to still omit items after that is pretty bad. I'm sure the waitress is very competent when she's not high, so maybe save that for your free time?? I think I'm being generous giving this place even two stars. Please note, I don't want anyone to get fired over this, but the owners definitely need to talk to their employees and provide some additional training and guidance. read more

Came in a couple of weeks ago, feeling snacky- I ordered a couple of appetizers and house salad. My server was friendly and prompt. Food was tasty and satisfied my fried food craving well. I have but one gripe-I know Angel Fire is a resort town, but it feels like even locals pay tourist prices when we eat out. The family and I came here for dinner our first night in Angel Fire based upon previous Yelp reviews but we didn't care for the food or the prices. I realize it's a ski and maybe fishing resort town but the prices were ridiculously high for what we got. I ordered the chicken fried steak and the steak was obviously was frozen and just heated to order, the mashed potatoes were an odd color and were cold and didn't even taste like potatoes and the green beans were not fresh but frozen and full of water when you bite into them. My husband and daughter each got a hamburger and my husband said it was alright but a bit dense. Looked like a typical frozen patty. $98 for a kids meal, a burger, cfs and some onion rings. Our experience at Pub 'n Grub was terrible overall. The service was extremely slow, the drinks were terrible, and the food was mediocre. To get specific, the reason the service was slow was that there appeared to be only two employees serving the full restaurant of guests; this included bartending. Our waiter was the one who mixed our drinks, and he clearly was very inexperienced. Both margaritas that he made were vastly different in color; the second margarita was crystal clear, missing any trace of lime juice and tasting terrible. For food, two of us ordered different salads with the grilled chicken on top. The salads were bland collections of lettuce and few other toppings with little dressing. I had the smothered fries, which were decent if poutine is your kind of thing. One thing that really stood out was that I tried to order a cocktail from the menu, the "pub gin", and the waiter asked me to order a less complicated beverage. "One with just a liquor and mixers". I'm guessing this goes back to the fact that there was no dedicated bartender who knew what they were doing. My recommendation would be to just order a beer. Given the fact that this was during peak lunch hours of a very busy season of the year, we were quite shocked to find that the place was so understaffed and slow. At least 20 minutes went by between each time the waiter checked on us; this included the time between when we first sat down and our first drink order was taken. Do not eat here unless you are not in a hurry and don't mind overpaying for lackluster dishes and poor customer service. read more

On our meal, multiple orders were wrong and we were served raw chicken tenders. We had to ask for silverware, our server dropped one on the floor and proceeded to still give it to us. Hubby and I were staying across the street in a friend's condo. This is an upstairs restaurant with an outdoor balcony. Very clean inside and out. We visited the Pub n Grub while staying in Angel Fire on vacation. We food was just ok. We had a wonderful young man taking care of us and he did a great job and kept our drinks refilled. The food was served quickly. The chicken plate I had was hot but the chicken was under seasoned and the vegetables were over seasoned. My two boys had burgers and they were ok. Not good at all, first beer was cool at best. I had to ask for the second one to be cold. Burger was overpriced and bland. We ordered the jalapeño poppers and assumed they were bacon wrapped. It turned out to be just a sliver of jalapeño with a small dab of cream cheese deep fried. Also over priced for what we got. The place is located up stairs. If you don't know where it is, they put writing on the door with instructions then cover it up with a decoration. They one guy working there was the host, waiter and bartender. This is my favorite restaurant in AFNM. My husband and i ate there twice and had the green chile chicken breast, steak and salmon. Good food, good service. Sat on the balcony. Delightful.
