If you're looking for some great ice cream and even better service....this is your place! We drove over from Angel Fire just for the ice cream. Since they allow dogs we brought our two Aussies. There's a great side patio with several tables to enjoy with your pups. They also have regular food but we were only looking for ice cream after our lunch. The young lady taking care of us was awesome! They even gave us pup cups with whipped cream. The ice cream was scrumptious. Sorry no pictures because it was so good I didn't stop take them. 3.5 stars We came here about a month ago (during Labor Day weekend) and the place was packed. Parking was pretty easy, but there was hardly any seating inside. I must've waited about 10-15 minutes for one of the workers to come over and scoop ice cream and by then a pretty good line had already formed. Prices weren't bad, several varieties of flavors, and we got 2 scoops of the Rocky Road and I got the chocolate cherry. Too bad there's not more places in town to get ice cream. 2024 #67 read more

They they just served me a burger that had cold uncooked chilies that were soggy and some greasy fries that were black and expected that this was good food and I should pay for it. I pay for it to not cause an issue, but this place is disgusting. They should not be serving food. The owner kind of shrugged and ate a fry like it would've been OK to serve to somebody. This was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had. We waited over two hours for food that was extremely overpriced. As a health inspector, I also noticed several concerning food code violations. Flies were everywhere. I strongly advise against eating here. Stopped in the evening on Sunday July 7. Both young men were super friendly and inviting to the establishment. We were excited to see the ice cream sign after a hike in the canyon. The wonderful aroma of a cheeseburger tempted me to order one also! I got a triple dip cup with peaches n cream, amaretto and praline n cream. They were out of a few flavors...Understandably SO! It was the weekend following the 4th of July. I'm sure they had been slammed! My friend had a hot fudge sundae and other pal had a double dip cone. We drove from Durango to Eagle Nest and didn't stop for lunch. So at 3:00, we were starving. Are we ever glad we chose Kaw Liga's!! Right after we sat down, the owner took our drink orders--offering root beer in an iced mug. So naturally we both said Yes please! We both got the steak finger basket, and they were delicious. Stopped in for lunch today with my family while on vacation. We ordered sweet tea, which was disgusting. The tea was very sour. Cheeseburger was good fries were good, but we hardly got any fries. Our server never came back to check on us to see if we needed anything so I pretty much ate my entire meal without anything to drink. For the price you pay you would think the portions would be larger, the food better, and the service better. Very disappointing. :( read more

The place was dirty and covered in flies. I wanted to walk out when we first came inside but this has always been my husband's go to place in Eagle Nest so we stayed . It was 10;40 am and they refused to let us order lunch when it starts at 11am.. also we were charged $80 for 4 simple sub par breakfast items. When told it would be $45 (still over priced). This place sucks, waited 10 minutes for someone to take our order. Then waited over 40 minutes for our food. Definitely not worth the waste of time and the poor customer service. Poor seating. Great breakfast and lunch! Met here this morning with some friends. Had eggs and bacon that were simple but perfect! Was recommended to come back for the burgers and here we are now, same day! I ate there Tuesday, Oct. 3 @4:30 pm. Was able to take my dog (border collie) to the patio where I had a basic burger and potato salad. Was perfect for me! The meat had a nice flavor, I asked only for lettuce, pickles and mustard - the thick pickles were excellent! That simple request tells me how good the meat really is & I was not disappointed. I had the smaller 1/3 lb burger, perfect for me. I did give my dog a couple of bites. She enjoyed sitting there with me. I hope our experience wasn't the norm, and perhaps they were training a new cook. But our experience wasn't the best. The cheese on my burger wasn't melted, the bun was cold. Heard the lady send back the grilled cheese for the same reason - the cheese wasn't melted. The French fries were under cooked, could taste the raw potato. Sodas were in small glasses packed to the top with ice. We had to go to the counter to get them refilled. Bottom line: mediocre food, mediocre service. Hope this place can turn it around. read more

I'm local and we eat here at least once a week. If it's peak season you may have a wait to dine in but it is worth it I promise! There's a reason every table is full from open to close. Sat at the patio with our dogs and we might as well been trash. Treated so poorly. Waitress said if we wanted to eat here and sit outside we had to serve ourselves, that she couldn't give actual customers who sat inside good service if she was serving us outside.
