A lovely dining experience! Especially for a nice occasion or after playing golf, elements is worth a visit. The service is good and I love that they do things like bread and butter! I wouldn't say that the food is as elevated as you might expect at a country club but overall it's reasonably priced for a ski town. The cocktails are good and sometimes they have fun events like live music and trivia! In the winter the formal dining room offers a fancier experience but then they also have the bar area which has a more casual feel. Probably the best place in Angel Fire! read more

The Country Club restaurant Elements has the best ambiance/atmosphere/views. Come early before dinner to enjoy a beverage at the lounge/bar or by the fireplace. Nice fireplace to enjoy in the colder months with cozy seating. Nice patios to enjoy during the summer months. Gorgeous views, nice windows. Staff all very friendly and pretty attentive. Bartender was fun and amiable. Great blue cheese olives she makes! ;) Dining service was nice. We did have to wait a bit for some condiments, steak knife, etc after meal served. Food was fine/good. The menu choices and the food itself is nothing spectacular, but nothing to really complain about. Our favorites were truffle fries, loaded potato and the bolognese, least favorite was the veggie burger. read more

The country club has really stepped up its bar and food service game in the last year. If you have never been there or have not visited in a while, I think you will find it provides the best overall food/drink experience in Angel Fire. I am glad to report that Bill is still providing excellent table service in the main dining room. He has been a positive constant over the years I have been coming to Angel Fire. The new food service manager, Ian, knows his business. He makes everyone feel welcome and keeps very close watch to make sure each table receives excellent food and service. I am super impressed with Paul, the main chef, and his staff. I did not arrive in Angel Fire this year until August 9th and have eaten at the club at least six or seven times. Each dish I have sampled has been excellently prepared and has a nice blend of flavors and seasonings. The Friday night prime rib has been of good quality and roasted to perfection. I love the corn chowder, and we must have at least a cup of it as a part of each meal. Last night I had the special, which was a grilled sea bass with a wonderful compliment of vegetables and pasta as the side. Loved it! I have owned two restaurants and cook a lot. I have to admit that I am hard to impress. The fact that I am taking my time to write this particular review is proof that I am indeed impressed. read more

Elements brought it this time with the best experience I have had there. We were there on a Friday night around 5 Pm and sat outside on the deck. First, let me compliment the waitstaff - Ivy, Kai and Nicole (I think). On this night, the teamwork and organization of roles was on the level that I experience in the nicer restaurants in Houston. And we could see the same occurring at every table. Kudos to the individuals and the management. Everything happened when it should and we received just the right amount of attention. Our meals were very good. I was a bit concerned that the New Mexico green chile thing had been overdone (Las Cruces native here) but everything was tasteful. The "mile high" or "towering" onion rings were not. We didn't need more but beware this is a two person app not a three person app. The Fire Bread is indeed fiery; seemed like this was probably cayenne pepper, not green chile. My wife's ravioli portion was good and my cast iron chicken pot pie was tasty dominated by large chunks of white meat chicken. We always enjoy a night at Elements - when it is open. read more

Elements has improved so much over a few years ago! My wife and I ate there on Sunday evening, July 7, 2024. We had cocktails, a White Russian and their Angel Fire Old Fashioned. Both drinks were nicely done. We did not have appetizers on this trip but within the last 30 days have enjoyed their Kung Foo Spring Rolls and Cast Iron Spinach and Artichoke dip and were pleased with both. This evening my wife ordered the Black Barrel Filet Mignon and I ordered the Salmon. My wife likes her steaks cooked medium rare and her steak was cooked as requested and was very good along with the accompaniments of Yukon gold mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. My salmon was very tasty with a unique ginger maple broth that was exceptional. Not sweet but a great maple flavor. We were stuffed so did not enjoy dessert. Will go again this week as Elements has become one of our favorites in Angel Fire!!! read more

We've been coming to Angel Fire for several years during both summer and winter vacations with our family. This was our second visit this week at Elements bar but tonight wasn't great. We arrived early for dinner and the bar quickly filled up. Our server was nice and attentive but the.food was a real disappointment. We ordered the brisket quesadilla which arrived with no meat...I pulled the tortilla open and saw maybe one little sliver of something that looked like a piece of pulled pork? Our server sent it back and we got a new order which did have beef in it this time but lacked flavor. I was expecting more from a brisket that was advertised as "made daily" like it was the kitchens specialty. Not so. The Mac n cheese looked enticing when it arrived with bacon and sprinkled with bread crumbs but it too lacked flavor. The cheese sauce was so watered down it was like noodles in warm milk...I tasted zero cheese. We also ordered the $36 flat iron steak with truffle fries. I ordered it medium well but the cut of meat came out as a thick piece which was prepared medium rare and chewy. Most flat irons I've had are cut "flat" so they can be sliced and enjoyed without having to saw through the meat. I gave up sawing half way through it was just too tough to eat. The fries were no better. The thicker pieces were still raw on the inside so I ended up just eating the smaller pieces. The spring rolls were ok but the "cabbage slaw" was pitiful. A tiny pile of wilted cabbage which would have been better left off the plate. The only saving grace was the sweet glaze I asked for on the side. And while the view was great we sat by the window and counted 8 flies buzzing. When our food arrived we were shooing flies the entire time. I mentioned this to our young server but not much she could do. She just acknowledged they were a nuisance. Our tab was over $100 with a bottle of wine. The food as described on the menu did not arrive as expected and was mediocre. It could have been so much better. Maybe it was an off night but I hope the kitchen and management takes note as we visit regularly throughout the year and want to come back. read more

The food was wonderful! I really enjoyed the sea scallops, and my partner had the French dip sandwich, she said it was delicious. The only problem was our waitress, she didn't make an effort to be attentive to us, we felt ignored by her (it wasn't a busy night either). She made an effort for the tables around us, which was frustrating. She didn't check to see if we needed more water, if our food was good and she was not friendly. It did kill the experience. Luckily, the bartender helped with my drink, the runner delivered our food, and another server informed our server that we'd like our check. read more

Tried this place, based on reviews and location (there aren't many options for nicer dining in the area), since we were celebrating a wedding anniversary. Waited a few minutes before being noticed, then were finally seated. Looking around we discovered that we were the youngest people there - and we're in later 50's. That may have set the stage for the night. The atmosphere was about what you'd expect at a country club - larger room about half used, one end with a dance floor. Overlooking the course, the view was lovely. Dining options were not all that extravagant, however. Wound up choosing steak as a default, and it was OK, but nothing to write home about. For appetizer, I ordered a pear salad, but got a spinach salad with just a few slices of pear (plus it was overpowered by large slices of red onion). Wife ordered the Mussels, which sounded great but the broth was overly sweet and there wasn't much of it. Probably won't be back, but again, it's probably the nicest place around without driving an hour into Taos, so... read more

We visited Elements on a recent Wednesday night for our wedding anniversary dinner.  We have been to the restaurant before, and the meals were good.  This time the service was excellent, with the waitperson being very attentive, despite a fairly busy dining room.  Our first course, the wedge salad, was very good. However, our entrees were lacking, as our $54 wagyu ribeye and $55 prime rib were way below par for the exorbitant prices.  For a wagyu beef cut, we were expecting something close to perfection.  To be perfectly honest, they were reminiscent of Sirloin Stockade.  While they were both relatively tender, they were also very fatty, and I'm not talking about the marbling that wagyu beef is supposed to have.  I had asked for medium, which should have been a little pink inside the steak.  However, my ribeye was done inside and very thin.  My husband's prime rib had no flavor.   I also ordered au gratin potatoes that came with the meal, and they tasted like they came out of a boxed mix.    Sadly, both my husband and I suffered some gastric distress after the dinner.  If not for the wonderful waitperson and the nice salad, I would have rated our meals a star or two below the 2 stars. Needless to say, if you dine at Elements, I would not recommend the wagyu steaks. read more

Came for Martini night. The complimentary appetizer was pleasant. This was my first visit to the Club and truly enjoyed the beautiful grounds and atmosphere inside. Wonderfully clean and inviting. Staff was polite. Was nice to visit with one of the chefs for a bit while enjoying our drinks. Prices could be a bit lower considering the size of my beverage... Or make the drink larger. read more

Oh boy. Oh thank goodness. This place is a savior. The bartender (Jared) can make a cocktail! The chef knows how to grill asparagus, the salmon was just the right temperature to not be dry, and the portions are pleasing. It's a lovely bar with lots of friendly - if older - people. Live music one of the nights we went. Happily, he was playing on the patio, so it wasn't too loud inside. We had shrimp appetizer that was just hot enough to raise an eyebrow and one night I had lamb chops that made me feel like a true foodie - just for being smart enough to order them. We asked the bartender to customize drinks for us and he showed off his knowledge by making us gifts-in-a-glass. Do that! The service was friendly and efficient. The food was sophisticated - especially for this relatively simple (and small) village, and the place was as clean as a whistle (even the luxurious bathrooms). We loved it. read more

Great views if you sit on the patio, overall experience was great. We have been here multiple times over the years and always got the same items. This time we went outside of the box and got the prime rib and catch of the day (halibut). All amazing! The halibut was cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed Elements! We went two nights during our vacation, and loved it both times. The fish and chips and filet were really outstanding and our kids liked the pasta. The patio had great views, and the service was nice. Tanner served us both nights and was really accommodating and friendly. We wish we found this spot earlier in our trip. First time trying this restaurant I was excited reading the menu. Started with the caprese salad too much cheese and no flavor but we were starving. Then I had the Cast Iron Skillet Scampi the veggies were perfect the shrimp small barely warm and all I could taste was lemon. The potatoes were crispy but hard as a rock inside. My husband had the Elk chicken fried steak it wasn't too bad. He asked to have a piece of bread when they brought the food but it never came he asked I think the manager and it came after they took our dishes. They also charged us $5 for 2 wet rolls and 2 hard pieces of baguette. We will chalk this up to an experience and not go back. This is the first time I have paid $180 for dinner then went home and had a PB&J. read more

Took a couple of guests in early September who were visiting Angel Fire. Ordered two fillets medium rare, one elk medallion medium rare and one elk medallion well done. Both fillets came out butterflied and well done. The elk came out very rare. Sent one elk back three times, never any change. Sent the fillets back twice, never any change and now the sides were stone cold. Worst meal that I paid $350 for. It's the last time we patronize the place. They can't seem to keep an actual chef or manager. I'm done with it. read more

An unfortunate dining experience where we were treated as if we feel off the turnip truck. Food was meh at best, Salmon overcooked and dry. They didn't seem to want to serve us. No prime rib, even though it's on the menu, but they had prime rib French dip. The place was empty. It's was a bad experience from the start. I'm sorry we decided to eat out here while in Angel Fire. My table of seven (all visitors from other states), arrived at 6:45pm for our reservation at 7pm. We were seated by Bill. The place was very nice, but empty for a Wednesday night. Only 3 tables plus us. Service was almost non existent, in fact my wife refilled our water glasses. At 9:15 our order still wasn't ready. After discussions with a couple people, the management apparently decided to go home. We were told by a waiter that "there was nothing that could be done, and the kitchen was arguing between themselves." They concentrated on a (comped) employee table and ignored us completely. Elements is located at the Angel Fire Country Club and has a country club feel to it. You can choose to eat in the dining room, the lounge or the patio. We chose to enjoy the patio because it was a very pleasant evening. The view from the patio is of Mt. Wheeler, New Mexicos highest peak, so it is a great place to enjoy the sunset with a couple of drinks and your dinner. I ordered the fish and chips which were cooked well and tasty. It was supposed to come with slaw, and the portion size for the slaw was so small I do not know if it really counted. The fish was cooked nicely and a nice breading. I have a sneaking suspicion thought that this is a frozen product dunked into a deep fryer and not prepared in the kitchen from scratch. There were two things that brought the stars down. First, the beer selection is just plain boring. There were no craft brews from any of the local New Mexico breweries which is quite disappointing. Second, the wait staff was weak. Our waitress never shared the daily specials with us and acted as if we were a bother instead of wanting to serve us. read more

In from Texas and wanted to check out this restaurant based on reviews and was SADLY disappointed. On arrival our waiter brought us water and left us. He came back 10 minutes later, took our drink order and left. Comes back 5 minutes later with our drinks and tells us he has to take food out to another table. He came back another 10 minutes later, we have drank half our wine and we decided to leave. After we get our check, he offers us bread. Ummm no thank you. I could have used that 20 minutes ago. Atmosphere, staff, and drinks were great. Probably the best in Angelfire. However, the food was extremely lacking. The filet mignon was just okay and the truffle oil vegetable medley was bland (couldn't even taste a hint of truffle). The creme brûlée was by far the worst I have ever had. It literally tasted and had the texture of instant vanilla pudding. It was also missing the caramelized sugar on top that is key for creme brûlée. My husband had the cheesecake and it was okay, but just tasted like a frozen cheesecake you can buy at a Sam's. If they could get there entrees and desserts up to par, this could be a great place. read more

Was very disappointed in our service last night when we ate in the bar area of the restaurant. We have a vacation home here in Angel Fire and have eaten here many times before, so hope this was a fluke night. We enjoy eating in the bar as it is more casual dining. My husband and I are eating Paleo and all of the entrees come with potatoes. I ordered the prime rib special and asked to substitute the dinner salad with O&V dressing for the potatoes. My husband ordered the salmon and asked to substitute the Caesar salad for his fries. The waiter said he could substitute mine but not my husbands. By the time we ordered, most everyone who came in after us had already ordered. After the waiter left with our order it was about 45 min or more before our food arrived. All those who had come in after us had already eaten and left. At one time the waiter said "sorry for long wait but they are plating up your food now", then in about 15 minutes or so he came by again and said it was almost ready! Since I had seen the chef walking around I mentioned that to him and he said "they were working on the vegetables". This was a bad sign to me. About 5 minutes later the hostess brought out our food and luckily it was still warm, but not hot. My prime rib was very fatty but still good. My husbands salmon was good also. When the waiter brought the ticket we were at first charged for 2 side salads, but he came back and said he would take mine off. My husband still tipped him $15 on a $100 ticket and said he was "giving him some grace". All in all it was a 2 hour dinner and we were not pleased when we left. We will go back again as this was the first bad experience, but will avoid the waiter we had. If we have a similar experience again we will not go back.
