This is hands down the best restaurant in Red River! My group and I tried pretty much every restaurant located in Downtown Red River (albeit not that many in the area). Service: The restaurant was struggling a bit with a busy evening, but they did not miss a beat when it came to service! They informed our group of 8 that things were going to take a bit longer, which was fine by us! They came by to check in on the group to make sure our drinks were flowing! I appreciated that the owners took the time to introduce themselves to every table, and even helped out bussing and delivering dishes when their servers were busy! The owners were so friendly and very passionate about the restaurant. You can tell by the quality of the dishes here. Food: The food was absolutely spectacular! I did not expect much coming here, but my mind was blown away! Each and every person in our group raved about the dish they ordered so I don't think you can go wrong with any of the dishes on the menu! For starters, we ordered the Brussels sprouts, and meatballs to share. For those in the group that were veggies-adverse, the Brussels sprouts were still a hit! The meatballs were so juicy, and flavorful. I'd order both dishes again. I ordered the smoked chicken quarter. The chicken was so tender and seasoned impeccably. The sweet potato puree was the star for me. My husband kept stealing some of the sweet potato puree from my plate! It was so good! I stole some of my husband's order of the meatloaf. Best restaurant in Red River, and it's not really close. Trust me, we tried nearly every single one this year. If I lived here, I'd be at this restaurant at least weekly. Everything we ordered was amazing. Brussels, meatballs, meatloaf ("streetloaf")... all so good. The owner came out and spoke to us as well - him and his wife were very pleasant. Some from our group even came back here the next day, because it was so good. They have special events on certain nights (live music, game night, etc) so check those out too, but even with no special event, this place is worth frequenting. Go now! read more

A lovely spot for a dinner! We went in with a large group and received excellent service. I especially loved meatballs and espresso martinis. In fact, this is one of the best espresso martinis I've had. The owner and his wife are lovely people who stopped by the table and chatted with us for a little. I loved hearing their story of opening their business. I went back and forth between 1 or 2 stars. Gave it 2 because we had family eat here and they said it was good. We inquired about gluten free options since my wife has celiac and we're told that "I'm pretty sure the braised beef is." My wife asked if a salad could be made gluten free and was trying to say by removing the croutons, but she was interrupted by the hostess who just said, no. First night in Red River we had dinner at this delicious little restaurant. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the meatloaf. Both were amazing! Before we left Red River we went back for brunch. Everything on the menu looked scrumptious. We ordered the eggs and pancakes! Oh my.... They did not disappoint and we didn't leave hungry! Best restaurant in Red River BY FAR!!! My husband, daughter and I went there for dinner on our second night in town and again on our third. We wish we had found them sooner. The customer service was outstanding, from the hostess, to the server, and who we think may have been the chef or owner. Everyone was smiling, friendly and humble. Our drinks were good, our food was flavorful, unique and fresh. We didn't have a single complaint. They were also very reasonably priced. In fact, we had a really terrible experience at Red River Brewery and spent way more than their food was worth, just to be disappointed. On our next trip we will skip everywhere else and eat every meal at Vine. They really have something great going for them! read more

Wow! We are annual spring break visitors to the Red River ski area. We have tried all the eateries in town! Well, at least we thought we had. This is by far my favorite place! We all enjoyed something different from the Vine. My wife tried the meatloaf, I had the tacos, a friend had the tomahawk steak, and we all shared the Brussel sprouts. The owners were delightful and very welcoming. They provided great service and even better selection of bar specialties. I would highly recommend this place to any traveler in the area. Incredible service and delicious offerings in the most wonderful mountain town. We had a large party and they didn't hesitate to quickly accommodate us. (There was no wait time as it was outside of normal rush dining hours) Our server was supported by the owner and another server throughout our meal. Drinks were constantly refilled, food temps were perfect, and requests were efficiently accommodated. The only issue is we have to drive nine hours to get there. We loved Vine!! Spent a week in town, and this was hands down the BEST food we ate in RR!! I wish they were open for more than just brunch, because it was that good!! Would have gone again and again. My husband got the 8750, and I got the Chilaquiles... also had an iced latte. Our son was happy with the kid's plate. It was all so yummy!! This should have had five stars. The food was excellent with great flavors. The brussels sprouts were, bar none,, the very best I've ever had. But . . .service didn't rise to the quality of what they offered. There are two entrances - one off the main street and one off the side street. Off the main street, there are stairs going down into the restaurant. We did not know about the entrance on the side. With a handicapped family member, we were clearly having difficulty walking down the stairs. two employees standing at the bar watching us going down the stairs might have considered suggesting we use the side entrance. Not a peep from them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in the dining room - nice open environment with big garage door openings to an outside patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't busy - one large group in the dining room and three tables are seated on the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was at the about 11:30 AM on a Thursday. The waitress asked what we wanted to drink, and we looked around on the menu to find what they offered - we eventually had to ask for the drink menu as we were interested in the cocktails that were shown on their website. She delivered the drink menu and then never returned. Eventually, a waiter appeared, and we ordered our food. Pointing to an item on the drink menu in the cocktail section, I asked what is this? I was referring to an item - I think it was "honeysuckle" but I may be wrong. Other items, like old-fashioned, or mule were recognizable, but this one was not. The waiter's answer was astounding: "it's something that they make at the bar". After a long pause to collect my thoughts, I said "I'm looking at the cocktail menu, and I know it's a cocktail. I'm asking what this cocktail is made of. " He had to leave and go ask. I won't go into how he finally provided the information, but suffice it to say that it was completely inadequate. Our food was delivered, and after that we basically saw nobody, even though we were seated in the center of the dining room. Sure, one guy came by and asked if everything was good (I think he may have been one of the owners), but even that was sort of a question on his way by - not really stopping and checking. Several of the people who appeared to be working seemed to be more interested in chatting with the locals that had come in and were seated near us. Two of us finished our meal, but it takes our handicapped family member a long time to eat. It took _forever_ for our empty plates to be removed from the table while the other was still eating. Again, just an indication of no real attention from the wait staff. If they had been really busy, I might understand why this would take some time, but they were not busy. i ordered chilaquiles. Menu specified blue corn tortillas and salsa verde. No blue corn, and red salsa. We inquired about the tortillas, and the answer was "we changed that - I just haven't changed the menu". I didn't even ask about the salsa verde - that is a green salsa, not red. If something is on the menu, it should be delivered as specified, or the waiter should tell the customer how it will be different when the order is placed. Of course, this is the same waiter who couldn't tell me what the cocktail was, and didn't even seem to understand my question. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Personal preference - and this had no bearing on my rating of this experience - but they built some sort of children's playground behind the restaurant. There were eight or 10 screaming kids outside during our entire meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is not an environment that I would particularly choose to go into. If you want to provide a playground for a "family restaurant" that makes complete sense to me. It is for me, personally, not a very enjoyable environment. I would go back, because the food was that good, I would expect, though, much better service and wait staff who rise to the level of the product. read more

The vine was a lovely dining experience. It is refreshing to have a modern, clean, culinary experience in red river! Something a little bit different. The meals are creative and the atmosphere is nice. I would say it was a bit expensive but I think the food and portion sizes were fair to the price. Best breakfast in Red River hands DOWN! Our family has been vacationing in Red River for years and have tried all the restaurants in town multiple times, we have our favorites. When we visited last summer we had the best dinner ever, Matt the owner was so kind and made the experience so fun! This time we noticed they transitioned to breakfast/brunch only but they do not disappoint! The restaurant is decorated beautifully, having updated the old T-Bucks location. The food came out warm and was so incredible, we all tried each other's plates and were amazed by the quality and flavors!! We ordered the simple breakfast, vine benny, breakfast pot pie, chile relleno, and beef stew. The drinks were also delicious, honeybird latte was so good!
