    Milkshake and cream puffs

I stopped by on the way home for some cream puffs for my girls. I've head through the grapevine that they are delicious, and they were! I picked up two vanilla ones, and had the option of a pistachio, next time I'll grab one of those too. My milkshake was a mint chocolate chip with whipped cream, hold the cherry. I don't know how many scoops she put into it, but it will fill you up! We'll be back!

You'd never know it from the outside of this quaint little metal shack looking eatery, but if you pass by you've missed out on some GREAT food! Pretty full menu of sandwiches and Mexican food (tacos, gorditas, etc). Everything prepared on order and was VERY fresh, right down to the diced tomatoes on my tacos. Tortillas were hot and right off the griddle! Just as we were about to leave we realized they had fresh baked desserts! We bought some to go because we're all stuffed from lunch! A local stopped by and told us we'd be missing out without a dessert, so i'm glad he said something!

I met some friends for lunch here and I had THE BEST FRITO PIE EVER at Frank's Eats and Sweets. The service and atmosphere were very friendly. Our food came quickly even though there was a very large group of people that ordered at the same time as us. The waitress did not forget to ask me if I wanted more coffee. I drank three cups! I got Christmas chili on my frito pie which means both red and greed chili sauce and I think that made it extra delicious. The cook even came down to say hello to us and everyone else. I was too full to eat any dessert but the pastries in the display case looked amazing.

Not fancy on the outside, but who needs that?

It's a very small but cute restaurant with a tv around the bar so if you want to watch football or…read moreany sporting event you can definitely see it here. The service was good but I feel like they can be more informative, especially to someone new in town. If you're not aware, the burgers do not come with fries. You must order them separately. One thing the server did not mention. All she asked was, fries or onion rings? Now, I do understand we could read the menu, which we did, but most hamburger joints come with a side of fries especially at these prices!!! You're paying between $13-18 a burger, it should come with a side of fries! Now what she also failed to tell us was the amount of French fries that come when you order them. It's a large basket that could be shared between 2-3 people. We ordered three fries plus 1 onion ring. We paid $16.50 for three fries and barely ate through one whole basket! The fries seemed fresh cut but seemed like they had this weird film on the outside. Not sure if it's their oil, or if they didn't fry it at a high enough temperature. What we ordered: - bison burger (medium) : it came out burnt to a crisp. The initial bite wasn't bad but eating it more felt like you had a mouth full of ash. While I can appreciate a good charbroiled or grilled hamburger, it was overly done. Not to mention it was over cooked. There was no seasoning on top of the burnt flavor. It wasn't really edible. - old timer w/cheese (medium): add an additional charge for cheese! This too came out burnt! My daughter could only eat a little as it was too charbroiled/grilled. It too was over cooked and no where near medium. - green chili burger (medium): I had high hopes of this burger as it came with cheese and their infamous New Mexico Green chili! While my patty was not burnt, it was over cooked and it had zero to no seasoning! It came with a green chili mayo which was really good but it still didn't help with the seasoning! The burgers here seem fresh and the beef seems a good quality, but I still believe it's overpriced for what you get! I also understand times are hard and our economy is struggling with prices, but then they need to find other ways to cut prices down without sacrificing quality.

She even gave us a heads up that she was also handling a 7-top table and made sure we could get our order in before theirs since it was just the two of us. Thought that was really thoughtful and great service. We started with the salsa, queso, guacamole, and a Caesar salad for appetizers and everything was delicious. A great way to kick off the meal. For the main course we both went with the steak fajitas. The steak was a little on the tough side, but overall still really good and heavily seasoned. The portion is generous too. One order could easily be split between two people. It comes with rice, beans, cheese, pico, and three tortillas. The restaurant itself is super charming. It's inside the historic Taos Inn and you can really feel the history in the space. The atmosphere alone makes the experience memorable. Would highly recommend checking out Doc Martin's if you're visiting Taos. Great service, great atmosphere, and a solid meal.
