Food menu at Dawn Butterfly. Good-sized portions, really filling. Wish there blue corn crepes were gluten free though.

Here's the menu. Good, healthy, fresh food with local foods. Chokecherry vinaigrette on my salad and edible flowers.

We had such a great experience at Farmhouse Cafe! The ambiance was lovely and had such a welcoming,…read morerelaxed feel. There was about a 30 minute wait when we arrived, but it honestly flew by since there are some fun little shops nearby to browse while you wait. They are also dog friendly on the outdoor patio, which we really appreciated! Just keep in mind that the wait for outdoor seating can be a bit longer. We ordered the Farmhouse Breakfast and huevos rancheros, and both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were seasoned so well. I also tried the Maya hot chocolate, which was delicious, along with the sparkling cranberry juice. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we grabbed a few pastries from the front beforehand . They were all so good, but the savory goat cheese and tomato pastry was definitely a favorite. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the freshness and quality of the food. Between the atmosphere, great service, and delicious food, this was definitely a place we'd come back to!

I smelled the smoker for most of the day as I was staying down the street. Two of the chefs were…read moreoutside tending the smoker when we arrived. I got some solid advice, 'order what ever comes out of this'. They were right, burnt ends and pork belly were amazing. Distinctive flavor, but delicate. Perfect medium rare steak, I mean perfect. We also had the caesar salad. Also remarkable. The only thing we did wrong was not order 2 salads for the 3 of us to share. The grilled corn was really amazing, I've been thinking about it for days. It has the signature red sauce, somewhere between a Mole and a chili sauce, woody, spicy with a citrus note. Our young one ordered the chicken pasta and said it had too much lemon. I thought it was good, but not as good as the smoker items and steak. The staff was totally top notch and they looked like they were having a good time in the show kitchen. I will come back for sure and stay in Arroyo Seco.

The menu is incredible, very creative with vegan and vegetarian options. However if you are very hungry or in a hurry I would not recommend it. The service is very sloooow. I visited with my son and wife. I ordered 'Papas con Chile', my wife @/ Sequeña Croissant and my son a panini sandwich. My son had one of their Superfood Smoothies and my wife and I Americano coffee. At the end of our brunch we had some pastries out of this world. Next to the Cafe, they have a small food market with a great selection.

Horrible visit. Such a bummer to end our Taos trip here. We were the second table inside after they…read moreopened this past Monday. After ordering at the counter and taking a seat inside, we heard the table next to us complaining about how awful the coffee was. That should've been our first warning to run, but unfortunately we had already paid. Thank goodness we had already gotten coffee elsewhere. So, we sat and waited for our food. As we sat and the food started being cooked, I started getting a headache. My husband pointed out that the place was filling with that grease smoke that you get when you cook on a dirty grill and don't vent well enough. We moved to an outside table and felt a huge difference in the fresh air; headache immediately gone. (For the sake of the other patrons health, we left the front door open to vent the place out.) We waited a really long time for our food, which I didn't expect from a counter-ordering breakfast spot with super basic orders that we could've made waayyy better at home. When the food finally came, the server walked up, plopped our plates down and said, "idk who had what," instead of just asking us...I had ordered a classic breakfast platter with Christmas chile and sourdough toast and jam. My husband had ordered a bfast platter with green chile. He had to go in to ask for his green chile and my jam, which they forgot. The food was just on this side of edible. I ate my scrambled eggs and avocado and toast (dry with just the avocado on it bc no butter offered and the jam turned out to be packets of smuckers), bc I'm pregnant and was starving, but I took one bite of the "hashbrowns" and literally spit it right back out onto the plate. It not only felt like the texture of a raw potato, but you could tell that their grill is in need of a serious cleaning. My husband didn't even eat half of his food. I was also kinda just grossed out how they plopped my little chile plastic cups directly on top of my beans...it felt wrong for those to placed ON TOP of part of the dish. After seeing the servers response to another tables complaints and concerns about the coffee, we got the vibe that this place is just run by a bunch of high schoolers who did not care/know how to remedy any situation that was presented, so we didn't even consider attempting to talk with them about our issues. We had a conversation with another couple who sat outside about how much this place seemed to be struggling with everything, even the most basic of restaurant situations. We decided to just high-tail it away after warning another group who approached not to even go in there. This place has good reviews, so maybe it's possible we went on a very off day; I will say that they opened an hour later than usual, so maybe they were in a dire staffing scenario or something.
