Second visit to Legacy Cafe. Equally as good as my first visit. This time with wife and friends. I had the green chili stew- served hot and spicy - delicious! Also an avacado BLT on grilled sourdough. Very tasty. Karen had a Italian sausage green chili and mushroom flatbread and we both liked it. We had a chance to catch up with the owners and say "hi". They are such gracious host! By the way, the place is curated with an eye towards Taos History. It's magical.

Great selection of food. Service was excellent. The owner greets you at the counter when you order. Always pleasant and friendly. The cafe is decorated it Taos memories, lots from the Mc Carthy family history in Taos. It's worth coming in for the alone. Great experience!!

We found this place on Google. It is a newly opened (July 2024) counter service cafe in the central plaza area. The owners have had family in Taos since 1904. Great decor with lots of historically interesting pieces. We came at the end of the day on Saturday so they were out of some options. Nonetheless the service was excellent. The food was very good - they offered paninis, flatbreads and salads and some other cafe staples. Good spot for a casual meal with a fun vibe. The owner was also very nice to us.

    Inside. Bright and colorful.

Great service and great food!! We had panini sandwiches. There were a lot of good choices. It was hot and fresh. Also, the owner was visiting each table to ask if everything was OK. It was all very good! I'll go there again.

A Cafe with Heart, History, and Amazing Food! I had the pleasure of dining at this family-owned cafe in the heart of Taos, and I can confidently say it's a must-visit! From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed by the warm, inviting atmosphere that's filled with the McCarthy family's rich history (owner). The walls are adorned with photos that tell their story and highlight their deep connection to the community, making this cafe more than just a place to eat--it's a living piece of local history. Now, the food. Everything we tried was phenomenal. I had their lemon blueberry pancakes, which were light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. The zing of lemon zest and the sweetness of the berry coulis made every bite feel like a burst of sunshine--perfectly fitting for this vibrant spot. Next up, the egg and bacon sandwich on an English muffin. It's a simple dish, but their chef made it where it felt like a gourmet treat. And my personal favorite? The Philly cheesesteak. Holy cow. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, and the au jus they give on the side brought everything together. Unfortunately, I don't have any Philly cheesesteak photos since I would devour the sandwich as soon as it hit the table :) The service was just as amazing as the food. You can feel the love and care poured into every detail, from the thoughtful decor to the perfectly crafted menu. The pride Ruthann McCarthy takes in her cafe shines through in every aspect of the experience. They recently hired two new chefs, Rey and Sara, and what an incredible team they make! In the mornings when they're working, you can feel the energy--Sara's friendly presence and Rey's culinary wizardry create the perfect balance. Together, they bring both heart and skill to every dish they prepare. If you're in Taos and looking for a meal that's more than just delicious--it's an unforgettable connection to the area's culture and history--this cafe is THE place to go. And even if you're feeling down, the warm atmosphere, amazing food, and overall sense of community will definitely lift your spirits--it's impossible to have a bad day here. I used to watch the show "Cheers" with my dad and always loved finding places where 'everyone knows your name,' and this place perfectly embodies that friendly, welcoming atmosphere. *cue "Cheers" theme song*

Something about the sum of its parts had me craving this for days after leaving Taos. It was that delicious. My wife had equal feelings about the chorizo burrito. Also, don't sleep on their quiche. Our toddler, ever the sophisticated food connoisseur, loved the spinach quiche, and we did too. The staff were really nice, small town polite and gave our toddler a lot of attention. Also, they have a drive through - that was really awesome. On our last day, we mentioned we were heading back home and we were sad to not come back for breakfast the next day. So nice. Loved it, will return with vigor when we make it back this way.

I'm going to start this review off by saying this- some of the absolute worst customer service I…read morehave ever experienced had taken place here at Tomorrow and Tomorrow. We were so excited to check this place out as we had heard many great things, and that was the first spot of the day kicking off our anniversary. The person at the counter taking orders was extremely rude and unprofessional when it was our turn. She was condescending on every question we asked since it was our first time in. We were curious what the signature latte was since it doesn't tell you on the menu "It's..rosemary?" and then rings up said latte and huffs and puffs like a child when we said we were gonna do two iced lattes "Ugh okay lemme take the signature latte off the order". We go to order breakfast sandwiches but there's a sign that says "No bagels" no big deal, we asked her what do they come on instead "Sourdough....." with the rudest tone and look on their face. My partner asked if she can get a side of tomato jam for her sandwich to a response of "Ya I don't know probably"..at this point I was ready to leave as I am in the industry myself and have been so for 20 years and I'm not gonna let anyone treat me like that. We stuck around though as it was our anniversary and this place was recommended by many others when we told them we were going to Taos for our celebration. Coffee took 20 minutes to make two iced lattes, food took another 30ish and they weren't that busy either. We waited so long that someone who worked there eventually came up and asked if we needed help with anything- we stated we were waiting on our order and they said it was gonna be another 10 minutes. All that waiting around for burnt sourdough, half melted cheese, and bland sausage. Kitchen seemed frazzled although it wasn't busy, felt like they threw our food together to start cleaning the kitchen to close, although we weren't there near closing time. The tab was also somehow $52 for two iced coffees and two mediocre breakfast sandwiches..talk about a ripoff. I haven't even had breakfast that expensive in Aspen or Jackson Hole. One star because the coffee was really good, and the bathroom was cool but that's about it. Everything else about the experience there was lackluster, and I will not recommend this place to anyone who visits Taos. This experience was so awful that I had to send in an email in hopes they respond/take my feedback and improve on things, but I will not go back next time I'm in town personally to see if these issues have changed. Mainly due to the woman at the counter but also the food was very underwhelming especially for the steep price.

Saw good google review of this place, hence wanted to give it a try. The disappointment is when I…read moreordered lox. I was told their bagel is under cooked so they substitute the bagel w sourdough bread. Don't get me wrong I like sourdough. Edge part of their sourdough bread is so hard to chew, be careful w your teeth as they are really hard. It's also so cold. Americano is fine, just a small cup. Their clean cup for water seems to be really dirty. I'm a bit concerned about the hygiene. Ambiance is fine.
