Delicious food and wine. Great service. A thoughtfully constructed menu. An absolute must-go! Seriously, drive here from Santa Fe or beyond.

Glad to see a new spot opening in Taos that shows some culture. Fun vibes, groovy music, tasty food, and great wine.

The lighting is warm without being dim, the music sits just right in the background, and nothing feels rushed. It's the kind of place where a quick glass turns into an unplanned long evening. The wine list is thoughtful rather than overwhelming. Instead of chasing hype labels, they focus on balance--clean reds, crisp whites, and a few interesting bottles you probably wouldn't pick on your own but end up loving. The staff doesn't posture or over-explain; they guide you like they actually want you to find something you enjoy, not just something expensive. What really sets it apart, though, are the owners. They're present in the best way--not hovering, not performing, just genuinely engaged. They remember regulars, check in with new guests without interrupting their experience, and clearly care about the small details most places ignore. You can tell they've built a culture where hospitality is personal, not scripted. Food, if they serve it, is simple and well-matched to the wine rather than trying to steal the show. Small plates done right--nothing overcomplicated, nothing wasted. It's the kind of place that makes you realize how many bars are just "fine" by comparison. This one actually has a point of view, and more importantly, it has people behind it who care.

It's the kind of place where you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy catching up with a friend over a good glass of wine. The staff was awesome. That small gesture meant so much and made the night extra special. I'll definitely be coming back here.

I pondered if a 2-star rating would be appropriate but he was a lot nicer when I was leaving (he said a firm thanks) and extra stat was added to the whole rating. During my visit in Taos, I had a chance to go to a few different wine places and none of them did "flights". Whereas the other place was generous enough to let me taste more than a handful of their reds this place only gave me one of them (which I didn't care for.) I didn't want to be an entitled customer so I (out of politeness) refrained from asking me for a few more samples. I hence opted out on ordering a full glass for something I might not enjoy as all I could get were the descriptions of several other reds he said. I sure was hungry though so I ordered the mixed green salad and the rotating dessert (some sponge spice cake with date in it.) Both of them (when I ate them later in my hotel room) were okay to decent but I wasn't nowhere near "impressed". Will I go back here when I am in town again? Maybe but I can simply go to the other one I liked more or some vineyards that are 20-30 minutes from the center of Taos. It appears that some other people experienced the same questionable customer service experience (based on their reviews) when I felt "unwelcome" or even "being dismissed" I know that it wasn't personal. Yup, 3-star is good enough for this place for now.

Food quality was excellent--we had the filet mignon and steak frites, both cooked perfectly, along with a nice local wine. Appetizers and desserts were just as strong. What a disappointment…read more I was so looking forward to trying this place since I've never been. However rather than it being a pleasant and memorable experience it turned out to be a total disaster, a nightmare. One we asked for a table they said it would be 15 mins when clearly there were two tables open which I was told were not reserved. So we proceeded to go to the bar. They had one chair available so I sat and proceeded to order a drink for myself and my friend which did not have a chair. In a very rude and obnoxious way the bartender said they cannot serve people who are standing. I said pull up a chair he said no. I said fine I will order one for myself and he will not. Again he said he can't serve people that are standing although I was sitting. So I went back the host which was as lost and ignorant as anyone can be. I requested to speak to a manager. She said she'd get one. No one came no one showed up but a woman looking very unprofessional in her attire. She just went to the stand and said nothing for 5 mins. She finally said "are you waiting for a table?" lol not hello I'm the manager how may I help. I explained the situation. She said we would still have to wait because the kitchen is behind. I said can we sit in one of the empty tables available she said no I said why she said because of the kitchen delay. I said I won't order food only a drink. I just want my friend to be able to enjoy one also so can we just sit? Finally after giving it much thought which seemed quite comical she said yes. We sat ourselves. The reason I explain this situation is simple. I do not want any tourists or people unfamiliar with this location to go through want we went through. Not only was it embarrassing but it was plain prejudice and extremely racist. Medley you have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. No understanding of the word courtesy and are clueless when handling a very simple situation. The shameful way of how you treated me and my friend is unacceptable. I don't know if it was because I was dark skinned or simply because it's that poorly run. But most certainly had to share this horrendous and disgusting experience I had at Medley. 0 Stars not recommended at all! And you all should be ashamed of yourselves for treating a new potential client in this manner. The blatant display of IGNORANCE shows how absolutely clueless you all really are. @aliciasnowwolf

So I gave the restaurant a heads up a week before hand and we agreed if they had available seating we were more than welcome to eat there. We showed up and were then yelled at by I'm presuming was the owner Charlie (I think that's his name) that there was too many of us and we couldn't put the tables together on the patio unless one person was paying for everyone (shocker they were dead when we walked in, so there's literally no reason they couldn't serve us, I guess he doesn't like money?). But they never refused us service, so we dined in for lunch, the food was great and the actual servers were awesome and did a fantastic job the entire time. Fast forward to the end of the meal, Charlie tried forcing a 20% gratuity on all the checks saying we were a group and thus it was mandatory but were forced to sit separate at normal tables thus have individual checks as if you were to dine in normally. When I asked him to remove it he started raising his voice at me telling me that they weren't staffed to serve us (again the staff did amazing, kitchen and front of the house so I don't see any problem there, no faith in his employees?) proceeded to raise his voice that we never should have showed up and given him our business. How do you not have the staff to serve only just your patio, that's all the room we took, on a Saturday lunch at that, if the restaurant got busy and filled up are you going to yell at every customer that walks in? Make that make sense from a management perspective. If this isn't true Taos culture I honestly don't know what is! Business owners hating business is just comical. I've been a long time fan of pizanos and have spent hundreds of dollars there. But I will not be returning and would much rather take our club, who does this 2-3 times a year to a resturant who actually appreciates business. Oh my favorite part is when I ordered food for the table he told me "that's a lot of food, you don't need all that food" I'm not sure if he thought it was just for me, or what but what kind of comment is that. And the cherry on top is that Charlie charged one of our tables the 20% gratuity, did not disclose it to them, did not show it on the receipt, mentioned nothing of it to them until after he ran their card. Over all just completely disappointing.

BFF and I were visiting the plaza and I wanted to eat linner somewhere different. As I researched restaurants prior to our trip, I found this gem and they have happy hour 7 days a week! After reading the many great reviews, we arrived approximately 15 min early prior to them opening as we were not sure how busy it would be on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived prior to the bartender but she showed up shortly after we did and took a seat at the bar!. Now, I genuinely do not like bar seating as I prefer a table, and they have one that sits 10 people but since there was two of us we did not want to hog up that much space. Our server was great and we started off with the brussel sprouts and elote corn ribs with red chile butter. Both were delicious and off the charts! I opted for the chicken sando and BFF ordered the steak frites. Both were delish and full of flavor! We also had a really good pinot cab. Our bill was a bit pricey for their HH menu (116.00 incl 5 glasses of cab total) but worth every penny! Ambience is totally cool, laid back, classy (but not pretentious) with a modern rustic flair on the inside. Will definitely be back if I am in Taos again!
