The bartender owner Ben was a great guy. Good white wine recommendations. Nice patio space for relaxing.

Whereas I didn't feel super welcomed by the gentleman upfront, my experience with this wine bar…read morethat has so much potential was okay-ish. I pondered if a 2-star rating would be appropriate but he was a lot nicer when I was leaving (he said a firm thanks) and extra stat was added to the whole rating. During my visit in Taos, I had a chance to go to a few different wine places and none of them did "flights". Whereas the other place was generous enough to let me taste more than a handful of their reds this place only gave me one of them (which I didn't care for.) I didn't want to be an entitled customer so I (out of politeness) refrained from asking me for a few more samples. I hence opted out on ordering a full glass for something I might not enjoy as all I could get were the descriptions of several other reds he said. I sure was hungry though so I ordered the mixed green salad and the rotating dessert (some sponge spice cake with date in it.) Both of them (when I ate them later in my hotel room) were okay to decent but I wasn't nowhere near "impressed". Will I go back here when I am in town again? Maybe but I can simply go to the other one I liked more or some vineyards that are 20-30 minutes from the center of Taos. It appears that some other people experienced the same questionable customer service experience (based on their reviews) when I felt "unwelcome" or even "being dismissed" I know that it wasn't personal. Yup, 3-star is good enough for this place for now.

It's the kind of place where you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy catching up with a friend over a good glass of wine. The staff was awesome. When our server found out we were celebrating the end of my cancer treatment and being cancer free, he surprised us by paying for our appetizer. That small gesture meant so much and made the night extra special. I'll definitely be coming back here.

Tucked along the road to Taos Ski Valley about 10 minutes outside town, Medley feels like a hidden…read moregem with a chic, upscale vibe. Food quality was excellent--we had the filet mignon and steak frites, both cooked perfectly, along with a nice local wine. Appetizers and desserts were just as strong. The space is lively, the staff is genuinely friendly, and the whole experience has a subtle Michelin-style feel without being over the top. Definitely worth the short drive.

What a disappointment…read more I was so looking forward to trying this place since I've never been. However rather than it being a pleasant and memorable experience it turned out to be a total disaster, a nightmare. One we asked for a table they said it would be 15 mins when clearly there were two tables open which I was told were not reserved. So we proceeded to go to the bar. They had one chair available so I sat and proceeded to order a drink for myself and my friend which did not have a chair. In a very rude and obnoxious way the bartender said they cannot serve people who are standing. I said pull up a chair he said no. I said fine I will order one for myself and he will not. Again he said he can't serve people that are standing although I was sitting. So I went back the host which was as lost and ignorant as anyone can be. I requested to speak to a manager. She said she'd get one. No one came no one showed up but a woman looking very unprofessional in her attire. She just went to the stand and said nothing for 5 mins. She finally said "are you waiting for a table?" lol not hello I'm the manager how may I help. I explained the situation. She said we would still have to wait because the kitchen is behind. I said can we sit in one of the empty tables available she said no I said why she said because of the kitchen delay. I said I won't order food only a drink. I just want my friend to be able to enjoy one also so can we just sit? Finally after giving it much thought which seemed quite comical she said yes. We sat ourselves. The reason I explain this situation is simple. I do not want any tourists or people unfamiliar with this location to go through want we went through. Not only was it embarrassing but it was plain prejudice and extremely racist. Medley you have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. No understanding of the word courtesy and are clueless when handling a very simple situation. The shameful way of how you treated me and my friend is unacceptable. I don't know if it was because I was dark skinned or simply because it's that poorly run. But most certainly had to share this horrendous and disgusting experience I had at Medley. 0 Stars not recommended at all! And you all should be ashamed of yourselves for treating a new potential client in this manner. The blatant display of IGNORANCE shows how absolutely clueless you all really are. @aliciasnowwolf

We secured the Chef's Tasting menu as the ultimate experience to spoil my mom for Mother's Day…read more.. The food (each course) was expertly crafted and full of wonderful flavors. Started with Wagyu/Angus burnt ends and savory red chile sauce. Tender and delicious. We then moved to the almost crusted Chilean Sea Bass with cilantro basmati rice and locally sourced microgreens and asparagus. Blew me away. The best course, IMO, was the duck confit with corn and hatch chile bread pudding. Accompanied by macerated blueberries and delicious red amaranth micro greens. Chef's kiss. The bouillabaisse was multilayered and seafood was perfectly prepared. To round out our evening, we indulged in a key lime pie that was refreshing and the perfect close to a wonderful meal. The chef and staff are so wonderful. They take care of you and can relate without any kind of pretension. Highly recommend

BFF and I were visiting the plaza and I wanted to eat linner somewhere different. As I researched restaurants prior to our trip, I found this gem and they have happy hour 7 days a week! After reading the many great reviews, we arrived approximately 15 min early prior to them opening as we were not sure how busy it would be on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived prior to the bartender but she showed up shortly after we did and took a seat at the bar!. Now, I genuinely do not like bar seating as I prefer a table, and they have one that sits 10 people but since there was two of us we did not want to hog up that much space. Our server was great and we started off with the brussel sprouts and elote corn ribs with red chile butter. Both were delicious and off the charts! I opted for the chicken sando and BFF ordered the steak frites. Both were delish and full of flavor! We also had a really good pinot cab. Our bill was a bit pricey for their HH menu (116.00 incl 5 glasses of cab total) but worth every penny! Ambience is totally cool, laid back, classy (but not pretentious) with a modern rustic flair on the inside. Will definitely be back if I am in Taos again!
