Went to capos this evening for supper. I have a medical alert service dog. I was told they do not allow dogs. I told them he was my medical service dog and by law they needed to allow me entrance. They told me I had to sit near an open door because someone was allergic. It was 45 degrees and raining. This person was in another on not coming near me at all. This was very discriminatory. The food was completely bland, not worth the price. We ordered the rigatoni with meat sauce and spaghetti with marinara. Even with parmesan, salt, and red pepper added, the food tasted so flat. Voiced that one of us was vegetarian, then meat was put on her salad, and when brought to the table, I reminded the waitress of this, was told by her to take the meat off the salad and just put it back on the tray. Capos remains to be a solid place to eat in Red River. While a number of the older restaurants in town have declined in food quality. Capos remains the same. Friendly and attentive wait staff. The food was bland for being a fine dinning Italian restaurant. They have a lot of staff so everything is fast which is great for the busy seasons. But we had to tell several different employees that we were not done with our appetizers. They cleared it the third time without asking so I guess we were done. The meatballs were soft in the meatball sandwich and the grilled chicken was dry in the Alfredo pizza. Not worth the money or time. This was the absolute worst calzone I've ever had. The sauce was the same as the frozen pizzas I ate in college. The sauce overpowered the meal. I couldn't taste the toppings because of the sauce. Food here was simply mediocre. My friends and I were so excited to try this place because we could smell of garlic bread every day walking home from skiing so we had to give this place a try. Unfortunately, we were overall disappointed in the food, but I think with managed expectations it wouldn't have been as bad. Nothing tasted homemade but rather straight from a jar or frozen. Some positives are that you are able to order a small portion of food that still comes with tons of food (eggplant parm with spaghetti). I don't typically write reviews, but customer service is a choice, whether good or bad, and tonight Capo's was the worst. I called to place a takeout order, was put on hold, but the girl just set the receiver down so I could still hear everything. She checked some people out, sat some people, and carried on several conversations that had nothing to do with Capo's. After sitting on hold for 15 minutes, my husband says he'll just drive there and place the order. I'm still on hold when he gets there. As he waits in line, he watches the girl look at the phone several times without ever picking it up. She is literally waiting for me to give up and hang up. When my husband gets to the counter, she asks if he would like a table, and he says his wife is still waiting on hold to place an order, at which point she finally picks up the receiver, says sorry she's been slammed. I say I know. I've listened to four different conversations and you tell a customer there was no wait. Super busy... I'm sure. Then she informs me they are only doing pizza for takeout. Then they make my husband wait for his order because in their words, the restaurant and staff stop for the torch run. During this whole ordeal, there are three people at the counter and only one that seems to be working. The best part is when my husband pays, the girl has the nerve to hand back the receipt and say he forgot to add the tip ( he had already tipped the waitress that got the pizza with cash). My husband was livid, I sat on hold for 30 minutes I will never get back, and our kids were "hangry". I get being busy. I get supporting small business and supporting local, but I've always thought small locally owned also equaled good people and good customer service, but Capo's proved us wrong, and we will not be back. read more

Capo's is located one quick turn off the main strip in Red River, NM. It is next to the Lift House and doubles as an amazing viewing spot for the Light The Night Ski Show down The Face slope. The service is friendly, however it did take a while to get our food. It was well worth the wait. Food Review: Small All Meat Pizza - this pizza could easily fill two adults, although it was a small. The crust was thin and crispy like a saltine cracker, the toppings were fresh and the cheese was ooey and gooey. It was hot and baked to perfection. Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo - a large bowl of fettuccine noodles, smothered with Alfredo sauce and medium size slices of chicken. Very good. This small Italian restaurant could definitely hold its own up against any of the big city chain Italian restaurants. read more

This the worst Italian food that I have ever eaten (I only ate a few bites). Food was horrible as was the service. We waited 30 minutes for someone to take our payment. Oh, and yeah they charge an additional 3% if you pay by card (credit or debit) and a service fee of 1.75% (I guess because you expect to be served). We got into Red River today and Capo's is one of our go to spots when we are here for our annual ski trip. The service was exceptional , Nathan was attentive and delightful. We travel extensively, and while the food is not as good as NYC and little Italy it is very good and exceeds my expectations for a small ski town in New Mexico. We will continue to eat at Capo's every year as my kids and wife love it. The pizza is great and always a treat after a day of skiing. read more

I paid around 21 bucks for 4 ounces of chicken parmigiana and a spattering of spaghetti. To be fair, the red sauce was fine. My wife ordered the chicken alfredo and her portion was massive, but the sauce was egregiously bland (possibly jarred) and her chicken had absolutely no seasoning. I mean, we're talking junior high cafeteria levels of seasoning. I understand table salt's provided, but some oregano, parsley and garlic salt would do a lot for this place and the chicken. That Alfredo sauce needs to get the Old Yeller treatment as soon as possible. I feel bad because the staff was nice, but, whew, it was just bad and woefully overpriced. read more

During my stay at Red River, I lodged at Wild Bills, which was a couple feet away from Capo's. My bf and I had Capo's my first night in Red River and it was the best choice we could've made after a 15 hour long drive from Louisiana. If you are looking for some Italian food this is the place to go...well this is the only place to go in Red River. Like any of the other restaurants here their employees are very kind and courteous. If you are a resident you do get a percentage off from your meal. I ordered the shrimp alfredo while my husband had their veal with rigatoni pasta. The pasta is cooked perfectly to al dente, the red sauce is simple, as well as their white alfredo sauce. Nothing super exquisite. I understand that it might be difficult to get seafood over in that area but the shrimp was very small shrimpy shrimp if that makes sense... the veal was delicious but everything else was bland and average. Also, strangely enough they brought out the bread during our main course instead of upon arrival. So we didn't even touch the bread. We also ordered their fried mushrooms. First bite they were really good. They essentially just melt in your mouth, but you quickly grow tired and over it. Their cannolis are fairly good. Even though we took it to go and refrigerated it it was still yummy and crunchy. Overall, good service, decent food, needs a more defined rules and order in the restaurant. read more
