If you are looking for some Italian food this is the place to go...well this is the only place to go in Red River. Like any of the other restaurants here their employees are very kind and courteous. If you are a resident you do get a percentage off from your meal. I ordered the shrimp alfredo while my husband had their veal with rigatoni pasta. The pasta is cooked perfectly to al dente, the red sauce is simple, as well as their white alfredo sauce. Nothing super exquisite. I understand that it might be difficult to get seafood over in that area but the shrimp was very small shrimpy shrimp if that makes sense... the veal was delicious but everything else was bland and average. Also, strangely enough they brought out the bread during our main course instead of upon arrival. So we didn't even touch the bread. We also ordered their fried mushrooms. First bite they were really good. They essentially just melt in your mouth, but you quickly grow tired and over it. Their cannolis are fairly good. Even though we took it to go and refrigerated it it was still yummy and crunchy. Overall, good service, decent food, needs a more defined rules and order in the restaurant. read more

We arrived just before the swarm of hungry tourists and our table of 16 was sat within 15 minutes. We were greeted quickly by our server and our drinks on the way. With 16 people sometimes ordering can be a bit challenging for us all. The menu had tons to choose from, we enjoyed chicken parmesan, lasagna, cannelloni, Italian meatballs, spaghetti and several pizzas (cheese, pepperoni & beef). Cold.... our food was cold. The taste was good but it was definitely cold. Our dining companions' food was warm but not hot. The server was kind and gracious but only checked on us twice. And we had to ask for refills on drinks. We waited for the table about 15 minutes and I understand that this is COVID, but there should be two lines to check in... one for to-go and one for dine-in. We eat at Capo's every time we go to Red River. It's within walking distance from our favorite motel, and the food is always delicious. There were 11 of us this night, and the wait staff handled our many wants with ease. Four of us shared a medium Combo Pizza, and added salads for $2 each. So good, and so filling. We even had a take-home box. Others had Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo, Homemade Lasagna, or a White Pizza (Alfredo Sauce and Grilled Chicken). There was wine and beer available. My family and I ate here during a recent trip to Red River. The food was fresh and tasty, the service was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. There were three of us and we were able to split a fettuccine Alfredo plate between all of us. Salads were good, bread was good, and the whole overall experience was good. We ordered a large pizza to go, half cheese half pepperoni. The pizza wasn't bad, a little heavy on the Italian seasoning (oregano I think) and the crust was burnt(I actually eat the crust on pizzas, so this bummed me out). The customer service is where the low rating comes into play- they were doing credit card slips and when my husband told them he was there to pick up the pizza, the girl acted like he was wasting her time. I'm giving this place 3 stars because their food "looked nice". We arrived and were greeted very short, told that they "just sat all the tables" and that they were not sure how soon we would be sat. The host then went on to tell us that some people order salad and appetizers before the meal, so it would be a while. Within walking distance from many hotels, the aroma of this place sold us before we ever got there. Even though it was busy, we didn't have a long wait at all. The food and service were spectacular. The Capo Special was out of this world good and so was the eggplant parmesan! The antipasto salad was a little heavy on green lettuce but was very good. The portions are large. We came on a Saturday night and got in right away. Our server was so sweet and kind, I wish I could remember her name but she said she was originally from Peru. Thin crust pizza was burnt black on the edges and slopped together. Kids lasagna was bad too. My son couldnt even chew the noodles they were so tough. It was $30 for the lasagna and med pizza too... Let's see. It you like your salad to be removed while you're still eating. If you like sharing a water with your wife because the waitress doesn't return to the table for 30 minutes. When your kid doesn't get a refill till after they have finished their meal but has to walk over from the kids table every time to get a drink because neither table has seen a waitress. Let's not forget that everyone loves cold food. Also to enhance the experience, try sharing. It may take you a while to get an extra plate. We've eaten at Capo's almost every time we come up to Red River. Our first experience wasn't that great. It was the night before the big bicycle race and they had all you can eat spaghetti. It was packed, service was slow, and the pasta was kind of bland. However, we gave it another chance, and on a regular night the food is great. The green chili cheese bread is oh so good, super cheesy and that nice roasted green chili taste to make it even better. Bona Mangiata (stuffed eggplant slices) is a good combo of meat, eggplant, cheese, and sauce. Think a hearty, hearty eggplant parmigiana. Spaghetti and meatballs is good too. For lunch, we had hamburgers and Italian sausage sandwiches with hand-cut french fries. The fries were so good, with a nice chewy skin on some. The sausage hoagie needed a little more sauce. The burgers were nice and thick, good bun, and nice fresh sandwich veggies. Staff are friendly and the owner always checks on you and says Hi. We'll be back for sure. Yum. read more

We came to Red River NM to try out the cross country skiing but had to leave early because AMTRAK left our checked baggage (skiis and boots) in Los Angeles. What a lovely place, reminds us of Ketchum ID. This restaurant was recommended by the Best Western and we really liked the friendly atmosphere and good food after a long day on the train and driving up here. It's a pretty decent place for some pasta and pizza. The green Chile stew was good. My lasagne was pretty decent--I ate the whole portion. I sampled my wife's eggplant parmesean and the eggplant was delicious. The sauce was interesting; like the herbs/spices weren't mixed in enough and some bites were bland while others were overloaded with herbs/spices. Not a show-stopper. The kids liked their pizza and spaghetti. As usual, I deduct a few points for a lack of local brew selections (they had three Santa Fe Brews--not terrible). I've been to this place many times when I visit Red River. The food is OK but can be kinda sloppy. It's really the only option when the Texas style steak house has a 2 hour wait every time you visit Red River. At my most recent visit 2 years ago, I and my family were treated very poorly by who I believe to be the owner. I may be wrong, though. For clarification I am Hispanic and my last name is sedillo. It's not hard to pronounce. Anyways I was waiting outside when I saw the old white lady come out to call a name. She tried to pronounce my last name but failed and said and i quote " Ah fuck it " then proceeded to erase my name off the wait list and invite the next family waiting. I was very annoyed and felt incredibly disrespected. Despite the insult to my family my dad and mother shrugged it off as capos was the only restraunt without a long waiting list. It was hard to enjoy the already bad food when all I could think about was the disrespect I had been shown. I myself have white skin but my father has brown skin. This was a first for me. Seeing someone hate on my father and his last name. That old lady probably wished we had a more boring last name like Baker or Smith. Something a senile lady like herself could better pronounce. Thinking back the reason she went in so fast is because she was probably expecting to see a man with darker skin waiting outside for their name to be called instead of me a white Hispanic. read more

My daughter and I had the kid's meals (no age restrictions!!) which was plenty of food. I had the manicotti, which was tasty. My daughter claimed it "was the best pizza ever!"
