Ordered via Uber eats, got the Caesar salad and chicken parm. Caesar salad was tiny and lettuce looked absolutely nasty. It was huge pieces also, would have to cut to eat at all. The dressing was thick and tasted more like straight mayonnaise than anything. Not to mention there was also a bug in it (pictures below). Chicken parm was fine but very mediocre. Second time here, they give good pasta portions, enough to share. The drinks are pretty good and i like how the restaurant isnt cramped like most other italian spots. Lobster ravioli was sent back because no.... giving fishy. But the Margherita pizza was good, bruschetta was three pieces of bread for 9$ but really good. The Caesar salad and penne alla vodka were cool. Also the server didnt give us bread and oil when we first arrived, but as we were finishing up she gave it to every other table around us. The ambiance was perfect for the night ahead. The area was dimly lit and the bar was pretty big and looked like something out of a 60s speakeasy. The stage has this velvet curtain and was lit up completely red with circular and square table scattered around the stage, exactly what i was expecting! We got seated right in front of the stage! So happy! THE SHOW: they do 3 sets between 6-9 with short breaks in between. The lead performer, Rich, goes around the room during the breaks and takes requests !! This band is good! I mean Rich's voice alone is like out of an old school record player! He does Sinatra justice! i mean this man can belt it out! The band is a lively bunch and you can tell they take a lot of pleasure in what they do! So much fun! Food: its Italian and it did not disappoint! We got the scallops and the eggplant for apps. First - scallops, 3 pretty big pieces wrapped in bacon and it has this lemony sage sauce. delicious. the eggplant has a pesto ricotta filling in a yummy tomato base sauce, soo good! Their pasta is homemade so I would recommend doing that! I REALLY appreciate that they do half portions! I NEVER finish my pasta dishes. I got the half portion of the sausage cavatelli - which after splitting 2 appetizers 3 ways was the perfect portion! Actually i had to box up my pasta LOL! The dish was flavorful and meaty. did not feel overly heavy after the meal. My mum got the short rib ravioli - it had this creamy (maybe potato) puree on top, and again, very flavorful but not overpowering. This place is almost 10/10 for me. The ambiance is casual but classy, our dinner being set to a great playlist. The staff is abundant, friendly, prompt, and helpful. It is very busy on the weekend so it is quite loud and also crowded in the front near the host stand and doors. But busy is always a good sign. And for good reason. I had never eaten here before until now, only having just visited the bar in the basement, but the food was very good-very reasonably priced for quality and quantity. Drinks were nice as well. The tiramisu is a must. I lived in Boston for years and now live in a foodie city that makes most Boston restaurants disappointing to me, but this really stood out! I'd love to come back! read more

We absolutely loved Capo. From the moment we approached the restaurant, and was greeted curbside by Joe, I had a very positive feeling and thought it was going to be a great evening... and it was. The place is large, well appointed and very inviting. The front area is a bit more casual... some great booths. When I first entered I thought that was the whole restaurant. Then we went to another room where there is another bar, a fireplace and the main kitchen. The whole restaurant has a lot of woods, really warm and inviting... the place sort of glows. The menu is fantastic... varied, well thought out and very fairly priced. The chef is Tony Susi. I remember him from his beginnings at Olives in Charlestown. This place reminds me a little of the great flavors that I saw back in those days from the Mr. English. We loved everything we had. For starters, Bruschetta, Short Rib Arancini and Burrata. The pastas... Squash Ravioli (so delicate) and the Rigatoni Bolognese (hearty but not heavy) are amazing. The Scallops and the Pork Chop were also great choices. Sides... more winners: Roasted Potatoes, Roasted Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts. For dessert don't miss the Canoli... trust me. Cocktails were expertly made and wine list is well chosen and priced right. Service from Sarah couldn't have been better. She knows the menu, was personable and efficient. My husband and I went to Capo for dinner and had a awesome experience! The restaurant is very large with a nice ambiance although can be a little loud I believe due to the large ceilings. The food and drinks here are amazing. I got a mixed drink off the menu and my husband ordered a Peroni and it came in a huge glass. We got the meatballs and bruschetta for appetizers and were extremely happy with both. For entrees my husband ordered the salmon which he mentioned multiple times was very good and I ordered the chicken parm (yum!). Last but not least we ordered the cannolis for dessert and they are my new favorite dessert! I seriously would come back just to order the cannolis. They have chocolate chips mixed throughout the filling and are the perfect amount of sweet. I'm looking forward to returning to Capo to try more items off their menu! read more

Capo is such a cute establishment in Southie. There's a real classy ambiance to the restaurant. I think what makes the place special is that there's a dance floor beneath the restaurant, so it's super fun. We were 168th place on the waiting list to go down to the dance floor, but after our 1.5-2 hour dinner we made it and it was worth it! Great crowd, great drinks, and great music. Although the food was good, it was so so tiny. I got the ricotta ravioli and there were only 6 pieces, I was so sad :'(... but at least it tasted good! My Amaretto sour was good as well. My friend got the Truffle Risotto and Ragu Bolognese and they said it was OK. They were a little disappointed, but I enjoyed my ricotta ravioli. They're a mixed bag. In general, the food is good, with some notable exceptions. Take the Lobster Gnocchi in white wine. It sucks hard. The gnocchi is mealy. The lobster is tasteless and chewy. And the wine tastes like cheap boxed wine. On the other hand, my husband loves their linguine and clams. And I like their pasta and marinara. The takeout service is not great, across the board. I ordered two different flavors of Gelato, they sent two pints of one flavor. Another time they handed grubhub a completely different order. And then there was the time they had my order for 45 minutes and grubhub still had to wait 30 minutes for it to be finished. I called and they said it'd be refunded. Went in today for the all you can eat pasta. Kiara was a super duper awesome server, she was on top of everything and sooo kind it was very much giving hospitality. I started with the cacio e Pepe and my boyfriend started with the bucatini carbonara. I found the cacio e Pepe to be a little bland; sauce wasn't so flavorful and the meatballs were not to die for. The carbonara sauce was a liiiittle too thick for my liking. With all of this being said the pasta was still pretty good I'm just picky and annoying. Next we got the penne alla vodka and the shrimp scampi. No notes for these two. They were absolutely spot on; vodka sauce was seasoned to perfection and the perfect consistency. They were generous with the shrimp in the scampi, and every piece was cooked incredibly well. The sauce was executed flawlessly; the herbs were super fragrant and the lemoniness really came through, but not at all to an extent that it was overpowering. We finished up with the lobster gnocchi (2 dollars extra if you opt for the the all you can eat, which is a good deal). This one was really the star of the show. The lobster portion did not disappoint, and once again, no notes in regards to the flavor. Perfectly spot on. The restaurant itself is also so so beautiful. Warm, welcoming, and ambient. Came for their "supper club" on a Thursday night- on their website they claim a show "every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7pm". Made reservations for the show a week in advance. Checked into the front desk saying we were "there for the show", they walked us down into a dingy basement, no windows and NO SHOW. The whole POINT and niche of the supper club is to have a show with your dinner! Otherwise why go have a $100 meal in the dingy basement with smelly carpets with no windows?! My husband and I don't get a babysitter and have a date night as often as we would like so it was a special night. FOOD SUCKED (and what Italian restaurant doesn't have tobasco and tells you to put Buffalo sauce on your marinara instead?), service double sucked, and it was freezing for a girl in a dress. Upstairs it was full of Southie kids. The place is in the ghetto anyway, not much to walk to afterwards. I have been to Capo twice and both times have been during the day when they aren't very busy and I have enjoyed myself. I have heard this place gets nuts at night so I suspect it's a completely different experience. I will say that both times I was with great friends which helps, but the service we received was excellent and the food and drinks were tasty. Not to mention I love the way it's designed. I've sampled the meatballs, the house salad, and their sopressata pizza, and a few of their house made cocktails. All were delicious! Whatever sauce they are using for the meatballs and pizza is perfectly tomato-y and spiced. I also felt that their prices were pretty reasonable for it being in a trendy area where dollar signs can inflate pretty easily. Lastly, their bartenders are very friendly. I know that's part of the job, but both were super easy to talk to and I felt like we were friends by the time we left. This is a beautiful place. The food was amazing. My friend and I both had spaghetti meatballs. And a one alcoholic beverage each. Unfortunately at the end of our meal we encountered a REALLY RUDE bouncer who kicked us out because my friend had bypass surgery and she ate too fast and had to throw up. He came up to us as if we were some young drunk college kids and told us to get out. I'm 34 years old. I have worked as a bartender and waitress for over 10yrs. I know how the business works. This was 100% unacceptable of him. He legit said it so loud for everyone to stop eating and look at us. He automatically assumed she was drunk. Anyone throwing up doesn't automatically mean drunk. She legit had bypass surgery. She ate too fast. I would have definitely recommend for the food but seeing how they treat ppl here automatically assuming a situation, I will never come here nor will I ever recommend anyone to come here.
