Last Sunday we went here for lunch and had a delightful experience. Aurora was our server and was so sweet. She is the daughter of the Chef and their family has recently moved here from Sicily. We were able to meet her father as well to let him know how wonderful everything was! Chef's Kiss! My husband had the Eggplant Rollatini with Papardelle and it was superb. Mind you, my husband is an Italian from the Bronx so he knows his cultural food! I had the Enormous meatball trio with fresh homemade ricotta and pesto! Wow! Wow! Wow! Of course I couldn't even finish one but we were more than happy to have leftovers! We also split the Calamari as an appetizer and it too was delicious! My husband took a bread pudding home for a later dessert and he said it was the best he had ever had. It was made by Aurora's mother. We will definitely be back, at least for the Italian fare. wow! The food speaks for itself. I had a pepperoni and onion pizza with extra cheese... was the best pizza I have had in SO LONG! My husband ordered the "made man" pizza and he thoroughly enjoyed it! I also tried his pizza and loved it. We also tried the spinach artichoke dip, and it was so good we ate it all. We came in on a Sunday night during dinner hours, so it was actually very busy, our waiter was nice but seemed overwhelmed. Very friendly staff. A lot of prohibition/Al Capone theme. Got a burger what was filling, it was good but nothing special. The unique thing is their beer wall that charges you per Oz. They give you reloadable card that you load $ on and scan it on the wall to start the pour. You can get a glass or a flight. Pro-tip: the little mason jars are not very tap friendly and can lead to a lot of head wasting $. Use the stemless wine glasses for flights which fit on the trays and get a lot less head/foam. read more

Our first visit here. Cheerfully greeted and promptly seated. Great atmosphere. We sat at a Hightower near the bar but the larger, more formal dining room looked very attractive as well. The drinks were great. Italian Old Fashioned and Peanut Butter bourbon martini. Pasta Bolognese and bacon, cheddar chicken sandwich. Fresh cut fries and Caesar salad. Everything was well prepared. Their happy hour is excellent with great options both food and beverage. The wait staff is very accommodating. The food is very tasty.

This place is exactly what we need in this area! The very cool "speakeasy" decor and ambiance is very well done. You are greeted with a 1922 Model A at the front door, and it still runs great! The front doors have little peek-a-boo doors, like a speakeasy. There is a real bathtub with fountains made to look like bathtub gin. You could buy a card and use it on the wall that is filled with dispensers for several microbreweries, and there is a touchscreen with info about each. Same for the wine wall. There is a cozy "VIP" room in the back to enjoy those drinks. There is a vintage mailbox from 1922. The large dining area is comfortable and isn't so loud that you can't talk across the table like so many others eateries in the area. And, best of all, the food is great! read more

I support Emmaus restaurants and local businesses, but tonight, I call foul. Don't get me wrong. The food is good. The service (at least the past 3 times I've been here) has been good. (The first time, they'd just opened, were understaffed and overfilled, making a justifiably surly staff. I understood.) Tonight, I came in at 5 - because I like their happy hour pizza. It's not only very good, It's $5. It's a nice way to end the week. Except for one thing. It's only that price at the bar - and the bar had no seats available. My husband and I sat at a high top to the left of the bar by maybe 10 feet... We were told by a very nice server that the Happy Hour menu only applied to the bar - not the table 10 feet from it. This wasn't her fault. I couldn't in good faith call foul to HER - this wasn't her rule - and it wasn't really our fault there wasn't a seat at the right place. We ordered food - and ate - but I can't say I feel good about my experience. From day 1, when the owner filled his restaurant so full that his staff couldn't manage the volume - to what happened tonight... I call foul. read more

I agree with the other yelpers, the restaurant has a very good atmosphere. Whomever decorated it did a great job, there's not a trace of the old Italiano Delite left. It must have taken forever to get the filth out of there! Everything about it is just charming and inviting. Except the host staff. There was a tall boy with curly hair who seated us, who was friendly, but the girls at the hostess stand looked like if they smiled, their faces would break. And the place wasn't even close to being busy at a little after 5 on a Saturday. It's not like they were overwhelmed by the volume of people needing to be seated. They were just as rude when we left, btw. Reilly, our server, was excellent. She greeted us and brought us our drinks quickly. Our appetizer, salad, and entrees all came out with a nice amount of time spacing between them, not too quickly, not too long. She brought appetizer plates and extra napkins before we asked for them, and my husband and son were drinking an obnoxious amount of water and Diet Pepsi, and Reilly kept up. The food was on par with PJ Whelihans. Just average. My son's cheese steak was swimming in a liquid, but it wasn't grease- maybe they pre cook the meat and hold it in broth or water, and don't drain it? The roll it came on was beautiful, but the liquid ruined it. It literally fell apart by the time he finished. The Trio was okay. The eggplant rollatini was lukewarm, the lasagna was, too, but the chicken parm was hot. It's nice to have this place as an option. I hope they make it! read more

I love this place and the new menu is top notch. I had the pork chop and it was one of the best I've ever had, Juicy succulent and seasoned perfectly. My date had the scallops with risotto and was equally delighted. We didn't need doggy bags. We got some drinks at the bar after and the staff was fun and friendly and the drinks we tried were a mix of trendy and traditional with a great blend of flavors. Very cool NEW place. I was hesitant because of some of the reviews. Ignore the bad reviews!! Glad I decided to try it for myself!! When I walked in I was greeted by " Sunshine" one of the managers. She took me for a quick tour and explained everything. They have a beer vault where you pay for a card and pour your own by the ounce. I didn't try it. But what a neat idea. The decor is really nice!!! Staff is great. Very friendly very attentive. Lluvia was the bar tender. She had a great attitude. I had a hard time deciding what to order. I got the clams casino. Yummy! Would get again. But really wanna try the Brussels sprouts and the hog wings ( never heard of these before). I saw the pizza. And everyone that got a pizza was raving about it! The food was good and hot. For an Italian restaurant in this area, you need to be a step above for a 4 or 5 star. The food was good. I had linguini and clam sauce, it was ok. The restaurant was not full, so it wasn't noisy. Be careful with the wine and beer. You will need a card to access the "pumps." The minimum on the card is $20. read more

I have dined at Capo & Co on other occasions, and enjoy their mozzarella tower. It's a good take on the mozzarella stick. This item is usually good and so I ordered again. However, this time it was subpar that myself could not eat the last 3 pieces nor could my company eat more than one. They had the distinct taste of burnt old fried food. Even when they first came out to the table you could see that there was something not right. I am not sure how a chef of a restaurant would allow dark colored burnt looking food go out of his or her kitchen. The main cause of this issue I believe is the fryer oil. It must have been over a week from when it was last cleaned or changed. This means all fried food coming from the kitchen has the same nasty burned old food taste to it and if you are a proper chef would not allow that in your kitchen. read more

I've been there a few times. Was excited to take an out of town friend. We packed our dinners up to take home to feed my dogs. The service was horrible, the only thing the waitress was on top of was bringing out the check. Appetizers was served 2 minutes before dinner . This place is ran by the world's most neurotic woman. I have never been so disrespectfully spoken to, by a MANAGER nonetheless. I was kind and courteous about asking for our food to be remade. This woman's name is Lauren, blonde, and entire face blown up with injections. She had so much anger and attitude in her, for absolutely no reason. It was like a cartoon character from a movie. When we complained about our meal and why, she interrogated us about why we felt the way we did. She was not kind or respectful in any fashion. We didn't ask for a refund, we simply told her we wanted our food re-made because it was improperly prepared. I had a steak that was too rare, my son had a burger that was over cooked, and my husband received underdone chicken. The manager was so belligerent with the way she spoke to us, when we left I had to tell my son why it's wrong to handle situations the way she did. It is not even the food that is the reason we won't be returning, it was decent other than being mis-made. We will be telling the majority of those we know about this awful woman. The place is clean, and well designed. Food is good and drinks are cold. My one recommendation is for the Manager. You are clearly talented and attentive. I'd hire you in a second. But, your personality is seriously overwhelming. :) You are extremely loud and intense. The entire room is filled by your every thought for all to hear. Conversations about staff direction and HR concerns should not be loudly discussed in the service area. You do that in the back of house. People don't need to see the internal workings of your business while they are trying to relax. You could seriously improve guest satisfaction by just speaking in a lower voice, especially when it's about "how the sausage is made" Otherwise, I really think the place is great! We visited on a Tuesday just before 6pm, I think. It was my wife and me. I liked that the dining room was 1)separate from the bar and 2)devoid of tacky, unnecessary tv screens. Our server was friendly and attentive. We started with the bruschetta; Here are my thoughts. The house- made crustini was too thick for how crunchy it was. I thought it was a touch salty and needing something, so I ordered a side of balsamic glaze. It might be better if prepared with a red-wine vinegar. My wife enjoyed her salmon dinner, and my burger was top notch. Overall, a really nice evening. read more

We went here on a Monday night around 7:30 and sat at the bar. The service was very poor and the food was pretty good. We ordered an appetizer and an entree; the entree came out first. That was a first for us. We shared the entree and the bartender said he would provide us with an extra plate that never arrived. Our drinks were empty for extended periods. My wife loves corn bread so we ordered the chili which was supposed to come with it. When the cornbread didn't arrive, we were told they don't have a baker so no cornbread. No apology; just an excuse. I would stay away from this place; the poor service really puts s damper on a nice night out. The capper was - we were given our bill before we asked for it. Well, I've been back three times and that speaks for itself. Everything I've tried is good, chicken fingers are a little non-traditional (breasts pounded flat and cut in half) but still enjoyable. The decor is great, a really cool place. The Food is fairly good, but no where near as good as it sounds on the menu. They cut corners on some ingredients (the special steak sauce on the burger is A1 ugh). The slowest service I have ever encountered in my life. Really frustrating that it took a party of 3 NINETY minutes to have lunch in an empty restaurant. We didn't even meet the server for 15 mins after sitting down. NOT recommended. First time I went in the afternoon was good. I liked their wedge salad a lot. Second time I went was around eight. They have a late night menu that's supposed to start at 9 but that's what they made us go by. They were rude and in a hurry and I couldn't get a wedge salad, which is what I went for. Decided to stop by and give this restaurant a try. We enjoyed the ambience and sat in the bar. They have a wall of beer with some really good choices. You basically put money on a card and it takes it off by the oz. The meatballs are awesome. The hog wings are great too. I enjoyed a prime rib sandwich which was delicious. My partner and I got the shrimp fries, a burger and a chicken sandwich. I'm assuming the place gets their business from the atmosphere and cute lounge area because the food was horrible. Everything was bland, shrimp just tasted like butter no seasoning, burger and chicken didn't taste like anything. My chicken sandwich was pretty much cold. The service was great, server was super attentive. The cocktails both tasted like nothing which we both found super weird since we've never had an issue like that anywhere before. I've been to this place several times but mostly at the bar - had decent food some items pretty good, but never had a reason to complain. Went to dine there for wife's birthday party with a party of 14.. entered the place at the time of the reservation and was told I had to wait for half the party in order to just be seated. Told hostess this makes no sense and I'm trying to get things situated with ordering some apps before my party gets there to cut into the time there. After asking a manager if I can be seated with my 3 kids she comes back and seats me and then tells me a server will be right there. 25 minutes go by as my party starts trickling in and not one time did a server come by and check on the table. After a few complaints server comes and says I'll bring waters out. 40 minutes until we got the server to the table to order apps. Server was rude as if she wasn't serving a big party - she would've got a $150 tip if she had basic service even. Waited and waited - food order wrong after repeating several times - I asked to go last on drink orders half of which didn't even come out, she adamantly said she was going to start with me. She confused the concept of "server" - I'm the $$ guy and I need time to decide on my drink since I spent most of my time trying to get service instead of reviewing the menu. Longer story short - wouldn't give my hard earned money to this place ever again - never even wrote a review before it was that bad. Still gave her 20% which is my minimum for horrible service - if girl had any sense she would've gotten herself double the tip - should've gave her advice for my trouble as her tip. The place could've had 14 people giving out a reference for it - now it lost 14 customers who will tell 14 people each. Bad business in my opinion when you don't train your staff and know your clientele. All and all I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone after this experience. I'm just giving cliff notes from the various interactions from hostess on, mostly my server. But can publish a book if I wanted to spend anymore time on this place. Food is considered good for some pallets, but it's too average for this experience in my opinion. Didn't even get itemized bill she just ran my card and I know for sure I was overcharged.... Conclusion - if you're a spender on a good dining experience go anywhere else if you want to enjoy a good time with a nice size party - they're likely to treat you better. Service is trash.
