Where to begin....BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! **************************LONG BUT A MUST READ!!!******************************* I hope that everyone reading this review will realize what a horrible company this is, and what a terrible person Jason Jefferson (owner) is. I wish I could upload all of the pictures of my damaged furniture, and Jason Jefferson's emails to me promising to take care of what was completely ruined! It all started back on September 14, 2013...Single mom, moving to a new city to be closer to aging parents. Everything seemed fine at first. Honestly, I thought Jason Jefferson (owner) seemed very nice. I met him...he actually helped move me out of the house that I sold. Since I was moving to a new city, I needed to place my items in storage until 11/1/13....about 2 months. Jason recommended that I even pay more for "climate controlled" storage to assure my items would have the best care. I agreed to this. I paid for the initial move out cost and paid for the storage monthly....he would email me monthly invoices using PayPal. MOVING DAY 11/01/13....................................................................................... I should have known that repeated requests from Jason Jefferson (owner) the morning of my move before my items arrived was TROUBLE!! He said that because it was such a big/expensive/changing cities move that they normally ask for payment before they leave Austin. I did not do this because I had already paid for the initial move and 2 months of storage. I wanted to make sure that showed up with my items. When the movers arrived...everything seemed fine. UNTIL.......the movers began unloading items and placing them where hey belonged....so I began to inspect the items. A lot of my items had MAJOR WATER DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1. Completely Ruined and falling apart armoire, (molded all over inside & out, bottom legs warped and falling off, inside wood of drawers completely molded and wood was buckled...the drawers would not fit because everything was warped) 2. 2 of my table lamps were missing...they delivered the shades but not that lamps 3. Ruined large Belgium wool rug....covered in mold (green & white), and fringes were stained dirty brown. I even have pictures with his employees in them helping me examine the damage 4. Pottery Barn wool rug ruined....same thing....molded and water stains 5.Ruined rustic wooden wine cabinet/buffet...water damage...hinged doors in the front are warped....they will not close properly. So naturally I asked the movers what happened. They told me "I have no idea, we did not load this furniture on the truck....we are just unloading it". Both myself and the movers took pictures and contacted Jason Jefferson (owner) immediately. Jason Jefferson acknowledged that the items were ruined, and he would submit a claim to reimburse me for over $3,000.00 in damages. He stated that the storage unit had a leaking pipe in the roof. They waned me to pay for the move even though there were damages...they wanted cash...no checks. Probably because most people would not have paid or stopped payment. I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, I tried to do the right thing......FAST FORWARD 6 MONTHS LATER...05/08/14, and I still have not been reimbursed. JASON JEFFERSON IS A LIAR AND A CROOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - They are legally responsible at the BARE MIN. to reimburse you .60 per lb. JASON HAS NOT DONE THIS!!!! AND THEY MUST FILE A CLAIM WITHIN 90 DAYS....Jason lied and did not do this either. - They are supposed to have liability coverage at all times....after talking to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, I was informed that Capital Movers was already in violation of failing to stay current with insurance coverage . If you try calling, don't you think that it's strange that their mailbox is always full???? They never return/answer my calls or emails, or just hang up on me. - I have filed a complaint with the BBB - I have an open claim/report with TX Dept. of Motor Vehicles - I have submitted info to KEYE News.....Hopefully they will air this!!!!!! - I am taking him to small claims court - I am having him investigated for insurance fraud....he tried to add me to a different and new insurance policy he just took out once I filed a report with TDMV to file a liability claim and it was denied (this goes to show that he did not have liability insurance coverage while operating as required by law and that he is a LIAR and CROOK!! JASON JEFFERSON - you need to grow some, and answer your cell phone, work phone, or email!! I have tried all of these. Be a man, learn how to run a honest, respectful business! Like I told you, I am not going away! I am going to fight you to the end out of principle!! Shame on you for lying, stealing, and taking advantage of people!!! read more

I used Capital Movers once again last week making it a total of 3 times in a 4 month period so below you will see three reviews about their individual experiences. FIRST Last October my wife and I moved (hopefully for the last time) October 2015 because we found a beautiful home with a pool in Serenada Georgetown. We prepared in advance by prepacking almost everything a week or so in advance. I spoke with a great guy named Jason and explained we had just one day to move everything! His guys showed up early morning the day of the move and shortly after noon we were in our new home. Great guys that work smart to make sure everything arrives in perfect shape. They were so nice to make sure they unloaded everything in the exact spot in the house\room it was needed, even though contractors were still doing renovations. Had to move Master bedroom furniture to guest room temporarily since Master on suite bath was in shambles at the time of the move. I worked at IBM for 31 years and was moved 3 times by large moving companies... had issues with every move. This was the most cost efficient and perfect move ever. I would highly recommend Jason and his guys to anyone... anytime! SECOND As stated in my last review, Capital Movers took care of our move in October 2015 but because of renovations we had to keep our Master bedroom furniture in the guest room until the on suite bathroom renovation was completed about 2 weeks later than the move in. I called Jason again for help in moving our large bedroom furniture from the guest room to the master. The guys showed up exactly when expected... moved everything in about 20 minutes! Once again GREAT JOB. So even if you just need a small inter-home move Capital Movers should be the one you call! THIRD After our move in October I thought I was pretty much done using Jason & Capital Movers... WRONG! Last month I ordered on of those Suncast garden sheds from Walmart and the huge boxes arrived last week. No way the boxes would fit in my pick-up truck and even if they did, at 326 pounds I'd never move them. Walmart had no delivery service to move to my home. Once again I called Jason to save my butt! His guys met me at Walmart where I signed for the package, loaded up and put the huge box in my garage. No way I could have done it myself and everybody else too busy to mess with such a small move. Great to know that Jason and his company Capital Movers is always there to help get it done. If I could give more than 5 stars, I certainly would! read more

I had the worst experience with these guys. We moved in February and it was a nightmare. It is pointless to go over all of the details because Jason will get on here and lie about every truthful thing stated. I reported him to DMV and the BBB. He just lied and lied and lied and lied....had I not of been setting up a new home and planning a wedding, I would have taken care of this in small claims court. At this point, that is not out of the question. I finally accepted a piddly offer from him through DMV just to end this back and forth lying stuff he likes to do. Again, I would have taken different measures had I had the time. He claims I have no basis, but not only am I a paralegal that deals with this kind of stuff, but my attorney also reviewed the evidence of damages, contractual issues, deception, etc. Jason even mocked me for accepting a small amount and then failed to pay me. What a loser! I knew he couldn't even afford to pay a small settlement because his business clearly doesn't have the revenue. I can't wait for the day that he loses his business or is shut down for being unethical and/or gets caught for illegal acts. May or may not see him court, but it is damn tempting. That $300 dollar settlement can easily become $5,000 in small claims court since I have enough proof. I would not hire them. Even the second movers we hired to remove our things from storage are willing to testify since they saw the condition of how our things were piled into the storage unit. Reader beware: Jason is definitely going to respond with a bunch of b.s. about how I am wrong, I had no basis for a lawsuit, how BBB found nothing wrong (they really do not do much), how he does not lie, how he paid me (lol- the check is in the mail, right?), how I harassed him (he accused me of this when I questioned him about the invalid contract based on Texas law, how he failed to provide me with the required paperwork before the move, etc), how I shouldn't have moved two days before we had to vacate the home we sold (he actually said this to the DMV), how scheduling our move two weeks prior was not reasonable (will probably say it wasn't two weeks), how waiting for 8 hours is reasonable, etc. So, just be prepared. He is a very dishonest business owner, even though he claims to know how to run a business. I guess an effective business is run on dishonesty and hiring shady movers? That can't last forever. read more

So I called around to quite a few moving companies this morning because I thought I was going to be scheduling a move for this coming Friday for my cousin. So I talked to Jason probably 4 times before we got the news from my cousin that we needed to schedule the move today because she wanted to get it over and done with. So here I go calling Jason back who was VERY understanding and set up our move for 11:30 am and this was at around 10 am. We were very excited that they would be able to do this job. Charlie & Carlo called me at 1030am to confirm our address and said they would see us soon. They showed up a few minutes before thay said and explained all of the billing to me just like Jason had already said. There was a $69/hr charge, $25 fuel/trip charge with a 2 hr minimum, we were quoted $165 for a 2 hr move which was estimated with us needing to move a room from one house to another and then rearrange furniture AND take some stuff to our storage. Needless to say Charlie & Carlo ran their butts off !! They were very friendly, courteous and worked very quickly to get everything packed into the truck quickly and neatly. We got to our second stop and they unloaded everything, re-loaded with the other stuff and then did the furniture moving we needed done which included a huge china cabinet and a very heavy stainless steel table ! All of this was done rather quickly and once again we were off this time for the storage unit. Once we got the storage opened we were a little upset because the last movers my cousin had used had just placed things in the storage randomly. However we were quickly happy once again because Charlie set to work rearranging everything in the storage unit while Carlo prepped the furniture and small stuff to take it off the truck. Everything was arranged and put away very neatly. Charlie & Carlo moved everything in a little over 2 hours but only charged us for the 2 hours. We are completely satisfied with Capital Movers, the customer service we received from Jason and the services from Charlie & Carlo. We would definitely use them again and are passing their card on to another family member who will be moving locally soon. Thanks Capital Movers !!! read more

These guys are AWESOME!! The staff was so professional from booking to the unload. They packed my whole house in record time. At first I was nervous about my antique hutch and china cabinet because they are over 100 years old and the glass is very fragile on the cabinet, but after they delicately padded, shrink wrapped and escorted my pieces slow and steady onto the truck and secured it, then all my fears just melted away. Theses guys didn't let me lift a finger and I loved it. My finger did all the work. I just pointed and they followed my exact directions. I highly recommend this company. I know that I can be very particular about my things and this was a full service long distance. The gentlemen were very patient and respectful to me. Moving can be so stressful and I thank you Jason and all the guys working diligently at Capital Movers. My advice to others about the time is to book the first morning appointment because it is guaranteed they will be there. I learned that when i tried to schedule my pack during midday. I understood that some jobs run over the time because a lot of us underestimate how much stuff we really have. I will be calling them soon for my elderly aunt since I recently learn that they specialize in Senior Moves. That will take so much burden off of our family. Y'all should open a Dallas office we could really use some good movers down here. Thanks again! read more

I am a very organized and meticulous person when it comes to my personal belongings. As a working professional, I own nicer mahogany wood furniture, leather sofas, a grill, and a stainless steel refrigerator among many other things. Jason and his moving crew did an EXCELLENT job helping me with my out of town move. I moved from NW Austin to San Antonio and had a house full of furniture and a garage full of packed boxes. They moved everything carefully and wrapped my furniture to ensure it didn't get damaged. They arrived on time on Saturday morning, did a quick assessment of everything that would be getting moved, and quickly got to work. They disassembled and reassembled my beds and the refrigerator and made my move so easy and stress free. I lived in the Austin area for 10 years and moved 5 different times and used movers for all of the moves, and this was my best experience. When I move again or if I know anyone who is moving, I will most definitely recommend this company and Jason. He was very friendly and professional when I called to get a quote and when I followed up with questions before even signing up for the move. I think many times people get on yelp only when they have something negative to say, I read other reviews and still decided to give them a chance and I'm glad I did. EXCELLENT company! Thanks for making my move so great! :) read more

I recently moved from a 1bed third floor to a 2bed third floor apartment. I got a few quotes over the phone & capital movers was the least expensive by far. I even got them to give me a flat rate...I'm not a fan of the hourly rate deals- seems like they have a reason to move you more slowly. At any rate, the price was great, the movers were great, nothing was broken, just a real good move. All in all, it took them about 5 hours. The only con for me was them being 3 1/2 hours late - that kind of irritated me..but I would still use them again. Top service for bottom dollar in my opinion. I've seen a few reviews mentioning cash only. I'm guessing that may have been an older policy of theirs, because they took my credit card (paypal) & told me they accepted checks as well. In addition, I spoke with Jason on the phone twice. He seemed nice. He did curse once...I found that unprofessional...I curse like a sailor myself....never when interacting with a customer, but no biggie. I just wanted to mention that to kind of paint the picture. The company seems to have a pretty low overhead, employees a bit rough around the edges, but overall courteous & respectful. They gave me a third floor to third floor move in five hours, without breaking anything, for the cheapest rate I could find in town. I am very satisfied & will use them again. Dan read more

Worst moving company ever! Very unprofessional and unreliable, told us they would show up at 7am and didn't show up until 7pm on a Friday night, they had to come back the next day to finish packing-which they said they would bring boxes and they didn't, I had to go buy boxes which Jason said he would reimburse me for but then he stopped payment on the check! this was after one of his guys stopped up our upstairs bathroom which ran over and destroyed the carpet in 3 bedrooms and leaked into downstairs thru ceiling fan, totally disgusting and they wouldn't even admit it or help to clean up, our move was postponed at this point due to calling a cleaning company out (house was under contract). Of course I was very upset at this point and fired them, asking them to unload the truck-which was not going to be big enough and they said they would not be able to get all our stuff! apparently he only has 1 moving truck! I was not going to drive 6 1/2 hrs back to get rest of my things. He said he was sending 6 guys and only 2 showed. After the "incident" Jason would not even answer our phone calls and has refused to refund any of the $1150 deposit. We are definately getting attorneys involved. Totally irresponsible and dishonest people, I highly do not recommend them and have been told by other businesses that they are not a reliable company! read more

Another successful move from these guys! I have already used Capital Movers a few times in the past year and have never had any problem scheduling a move or issues with the movers Jason has always sent me. I used these guys again over the weekend for a small office move. We were scheduled between 12 and 2 pm, the guys arrived like clock work around 12:20 after they gave us a courtesy call before arrival. When the movers arrived this time they only charged me for a 2 man crew but the owner sent 3 guys which helped out a lot since the guys had already completed a job earlier in the day and being that it was 95 degrees outside who wouldnt be happy to see another guy helping the move go smooth! Everyone is always quick to bash a job not well done but good news travels slow and this is my main reason in updating my review on Capital Movers each time I use the company, because each time I have never experienced any damage or drama. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat and here is why: · They arrive on time in most occassions/ if not they call with a heads up · Always polite and patient with my things · Price is cheap compared to others · The owner (Jason) works hard to ensure a good experience. If your truely looking for a real company that has ethics and stands behind their service call Capital Movers! read more

I'm writing this review in regards to my recent move with Capital Movers on 12/17/2011. This was a last minute move the weekend before Christmas and after calling around to several over priced companies I finally spoke to the owner Jason on 12/14 just 3 days before our move. He was very professional in our conversation and offered by far the best pricing out of the other companies I spoke to. They even were able to squeeze us in during the early morning hours that we requested. The movers arrived on time as expected and they packed and loaded everything up in a very careful manner. We have lots of fragile items that we specified needed to be moved with care and they did just that! I was highly satisfied that nothing was damaged or broken at all during the move. Even though it was raining off and on during the move ALL items were kept from getting wet and overall I feel the movers were very professional and respectful towards me and my family. If you are looking for quality work at the best price in Austin then Capital Movers is the place to call for your next move. They are my go-to guys anytime I need to move in the future. Looking forward to future business. Keep up the great work! read more

With my husband overseas and no immediate family in town I was in need of a helping hand for my upcoming move and had no idea where to begin. I searched online but every companies quotes were sky high and I'd like to think that it wasn't bc of my "single woman" moving situation. I was referred to Capital Movers by a dear friend who has used this company twice before and is always very satisfied. I don't know how else to give my thanks for the absolute BEST moving experience. I've moved plenty of times but nothing has gone as smooth as this move. The movers were prompt and on time, friendly and respectful, and best of all handled all of my items as if they were all worth a million bucks with everything arriving undamaged. I was a little unhappy with the initial living room setup I asked for and without any hesitation the movers asked "how would you like your furniture to be rearranged? Your satisfaction is my goal today." ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? Usually my couches are set down here or there and then the movers are out the door to get the next box and I'm left to shimmy and push my furniture around for the next hour or so. Capital Movers will always be my go-to company for any future moves. read more

From the initial phone call to the actual move, every staff member was very pleasant to work with. Jason, the owner, came out to visit our office and give a free estimate. He called prior to the visit to confirm it was a good time, which I appreciated. I recieved the quote the very next day via email, and the price was unbelievably reasonable. These guys are ready and willing to work with any budget. I got a couple of calls from capital movers before the big move, just to confirm the details. It was reassuring to know that they were on top of things. They showed up on time (even a little earlier) on moving day. The movers were very corteous, professional and efficient. They got the move done in about 8 hours. That included 5 offices (desks, file cabinets, boxes, etc), 4 classrooms (toys, shelves, tables), a kitchen (refridgerator), and a storage closet. That's alot of stuff in just 8 hours. All in all our experience with Capital Movers was fantastic. The move could not have went smoother, and we couldnt have done it without them. read more

Do yourself a favor and call Jason before you call anyone else if you have moving needs. Save yourself the time, the stress, the hassle, and the money!!! I'm a 100% disabled vet and when I sold my house quicker than expected, I needed a moving company ASAP. I called around to various moving companies in the Austin area and most of them were challenging to deal with because of Their corporate structure and having to deal with different people and scheduling. This took a lot of my time that I could of used on other things. When I did find a mover and they had committed to a move date they never bothered showing up when they said they would. And this created a huge problem for me as I was now well beyond the date I said that I would be moved out Thx Jason!!! I got Jason's name and number from my real estate agent when I asked her for help. I wish I would've had Jason's number to begin with because in one very short phone call Jason scheduled my move and had my back. Simple, easy, professional, and excellent pricing. read more

I needed some help moving large furniture on short notice. We are staging our home and the photographer was coming the next day after the stager gave me the to-do list. I called Capital Movers and spoke to Jason. He quoted me $25 trip fee plus $50 per hour and he could send someone to help the same day!! They did not show up as quickly as I expected, but I was not given a firm time to expect anyone. When they arrived Christian and Matt were very polite. Matt walked me through the paperwork and DID offer and explain the insurance which I declined. Matt and Christian were very entertaining and personable while helping me move around the majority of my upstairs furniture. There was no damage done to anything and they did everything I asked in good spirits. If we weren't moving out of state I would consider them for our move. Bottom line...My experience with them was as good as it gets and they were faster than anyone else could get here to help. read more

My wife and I originally planned on moving ourselves into our new home; however, once we realized how much stuff we had and how long that would take, we decided to hire a moving company. I called about 6 different companies before I called Capital Movers. When I called Capital Movers, the owner Jason, was very polite and gave me a more than fair quote (considering the move was for the next morning and I called him at 7 p.m. the night before the move). Two movers came at 9 a.m. the next day. They even called me 30 mins before they came to let me know that they were on their way, which I appreciated very much. When they arrived, I quickly showed them everything we were moving and they got to work. They worked fast but carefully, and got the job done within a reasonable amount of time. I'm so relieved that my wife and I will be able to celebrate Christmas with our family in our new home. If I ever move again, I would definitely hire Capital Movers. read more

NONE THEY GET NO STARS They were on time and quick. HOWEVER THEY LEFT A WASHER HOSE RUNNING AND LEFT. When I got back it had flooded the whole top floor and was dripping onto my landlords downstairs Porsch Collection. We CALLED AND BRADEN ASSURED US HE WOULD HANDLE IT. THEY DID NOT. I had to go out of town and my 75 yr old landlord and A hand had to take up the wet carpet out to insure it did not run up the sheetrock. EVEN THOUGH THAT SAVED THEM A TON OF MONEY IN A LAW SUIT they still wont call us back. YOU CANNOT give them a message. None of there phones have places to leave messages.
