I had the pleasure of working with Ron today, and I only wish I had reached out sooner! Ron is professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. Ron pitched & tuned a piano that has been in my family for 20+ years, and when he heard it was my childhood piano, he was kind enough to give me a history on the company and look up even more information about the piano for me. He walked me through what he was doing & why, and since he had sent his pricing ahead of time, there were no surprises when it came to payment. He also plays beautifully, which is always a plus!! I will absolutely use his services in the future & recommend him for all of your piano needs. read more

What a worthless experience. This guy was unable to get our piano in tune and after the second appointment I discovered many flat keys. Ron's response was to belittle me and tell me he left if exactly where he intended. He sure seems to think a lot of himself but apparently doesn't stand by his work or care about his reputation. He was arrogant and defensive instead of making sure his work lived up to his claimed high standards. Save your money and go with someone with the huge unfounded ego. read more

Ron is AMAZING!! I contacted him through Yelp, and he responded in a very timely manner. I have an old piano that's never been tuned in the time that I've had it (2ish years). He got to me in the timeframe provided and was very friendly. My dog was walking around while he was working and became best friends with Ron. While working on the piano, he noticed that I had some stuck keys and rusted strings. He communicated with me potential ideas, and we both worked through solutions. At the end of the tuning, he played some amazing music and even polished my piano! It was rather lacking in both the pitch and shine before, and he turned it back into the beauty that it's supposed to be. Thank you so much, Ron, for your help! Can't wait to see you at the next tuning. read more

Ron B. is a great person to consult for your piano needs. He promptly returned my phone call within the same day. He gave me really good advice on not having my mother ship my childhood 1977 Schaffer & Sons piano from California. He also advised against purchasing an unrestored 1904 H.C. Schomacker baby grand piano for $3000. He's very knowledgeable regarding appraisal values and suggested I look on craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. He said pianos are selling really cheap right now, like ten cents to the dollar. I'm guessing it's probably due to covid and piano teachers not having students over to their house. I will definitely keep PianoWorks in mind if I purchase a piano! read more

Where to begin?? Ron is THE piano expert that you want to address any of your piano needs. My husband and I both are admittedly former band nerds, so we've seen our share of musical techs for all sorts of instruments. We had a depressed key on my grandmother's 70 year old piano that needed repair, and the piano was also in bad need of a tune. Ron fixed everything AND THEN SOME--and at a VERY reasonable cost to boot. He was professional, friendly, and yet still conservative in his suggestions on what needed repair and what didn't (there was no over-selling at any point). Seriously so glad to have found Ron, we will be repeat customers as long as he is in business. read more

Piano always sounds so perfect after Ron tunes it up! Plus, Ron's a fantastic musician himself and it's always a pleasure to hear him play.

Ron came over to tune my piano, which hadn't been tuned in 5 years and recently went thru a move! He was friendly, professional, and i am very pleased with his tuning. Highly recommend! read more

Highly recommend PianoWorks! Service was quick and affordable, especially for the old (and not particularly precious) piano we recently purchased from marketplace. read more

My piano hadn't been tuned in a while. I contacted PianoWorks and was very impressed. Ron was very responsive, very professional, upfront with cost, very quick and did an excellent job. He will be my go-to tuner from now on. read more

Our world is now a digital one. So many once-great novelties are now cheap facsimiles of unique originals. Regrettably, instruments are not an exception. In this digital world around us, an escape to something acoustic, such as the aural experience of a finely-tuned piano, with its almost imperceptible imperfections, is both nostalgic and human. Through each piano's unique resonance, tones, and hums, imperfection is made perfect. This is the world that PianoWorks owner and piano professional Ron Bergeron lives and works in. This is the world he can bring into your living room or parlor. Ron is a craftsman, skilled in the beautifully unique trade of acoustic piano reconditioning and tuning that seems out of place in our modern society. He is a specialist in an anachronism that refuses to die. Wearing ear protection as he vacuumed the inside of the soundboard to remove a sheen of dust, it was plainly obvious that Ron protects his hearing at all costs, valuing his eardrums above even the most expensive tuning equipment. Much like his penchant for perfect pitch, Ron himself is one-of-a-kind. A wonderfully likable person of immense character and life experience, someone who naturally converses like an old friend, who you feel welcome to bring into your home. As a Yelp Elite member for 2016, I can fully endorse Ron for any and all of your piano needs, and would grant him a sixth star if it were in my power. read more

If you are in need of a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable craftsman, look no further. I have consulted with Ron multiple times on issues concerning the purchase & condition of pianos that were for sale and one that was gifted to me. On two of the three occasions he consulted with me via phone/text, and he was a wealth of information. His prices are reasonable, he is easy to reach by phone, text or email. He takes the time to explain things and educate people. He loves what he does and it shows. I highly recommend him! read more

HIGHLY recommend Austin Piano Works! We just moved to the area and the movers put our petit grand together incorrectly. :| Ron quickly dissected the issue and it's playing beautifully again. Appreciate how he took the time to explain things along the way while he got our baby back in tune. :) For friendly, professional, quality service call Ron! read more

Ron does great work and really cares about pianos. He took care of my 1908 piano that hadn't been tuned in decades. Gave it a nice detailing and tune. Great work! Super nice guy! Thanks Ron! read more

Ron did a great job with our old 1970s upright that had been recently shipped across state and hadn't been tuned in literal decades prior to that. He was thorough with communication, punctual with arrivals and check-ins, and did a great job of explaining options for what we could do to address the piano's tuning needs. After an agreed upon two adjustments over several weeks, the piano sounds amazing! Also: he brought treats for and was very sweet with our cat, which was a nice bonus, haha. read more

I highly recommend Austin Piano Works, Ron Bergeron recently saved the day by making needed repairs to my Family's 100 year old Grand Piano. He empathized with the situation I was in and came by to assess the damage, determined how to best make the needed repairs. Ron was able to make repairs to the piano leg making it better than it was before. I intend to use him for all our piano needs. read more

I am so grateful to Ron! We are in the middle of having repair work done on our house, so things around here are fairly disorganized. But Ron was so gracious and positive, he made my whole day better. We have a fairly worthless old upright piano that we inherited from a grandmother, but we need it in tune around the holidays. He did a wonderful job - not only making our piano sound wonderful, but also getting it looking shiny and much nicer than it actually is. Cost was actually less than I expected. Please take my advice and invite Ron into your home. read more

Ron was absolutely professional. He did an amazing job and is awesome playing the piano! We got a little treat for our ears! Would totally recommend him to a friend! read more

Ron really knows his stuff. He's a registered piano technician and has now tuned my upright piano to perfection for the third time. In his last visit he even managed to fix a particularly annoying squeaking in the sustain pedal that nobody else managed to get rid of. Whether your piano just needs a tune-up or you need someone to pull the thing apart and solve a more nuanced problem, Ron is definitely up to the task. Highly recommend Austin PianoWorks!! read more

Ron showed up on time, with a smile, and was very pleasant to interact with. He was very willing to answer questions about what he was doing and explained everything thoroughly. Piano had a couple of keys that were sticking, and he fixed them quickly. Very upfront on pricing so no unexpected surprises. Piano sounded wonderful when he was done. I highly recommend him and will use his services again. read more

Ron is a class act-- he's so knowledgeable about pianos and I know our family heirloom is safe in his hands. He's one of the most kind and professional businesses I've ever worked with, pianos aside. He works with your schedule and he has a great reputation with pianists around town. I know he will be the only one to tune our piano for years to come! read more

Ron is fantastic!! He is the best piano tuner that I have ever used for my piano!! He is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, responsive to phone calls & emails, and HIGHLY skilled. My piano sounds terrific! :) Best of all, Ron is like me in the sense that he takes GREAT PRIDE in his work. You can always tell somebody who takes an enormous amount of pride & care in what they do, and Ron is one of those rare gems. He is like the Apple Computer of piano technicians. He happens to be an outstanding piano player too, but he'll be super-modest about his amazing piano skills... get him to play a few tunes for you, and you'll be blown away. As long as I'm living in Austin, I'll be using Ron! read more

I am a piano teacher, new to the Round Rock area. I saw on Yelp that Ron was nearby, and so I gave him a call. He immediately answered, and was available to tune my piano at a convenient time within the next couple of days. He was extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He came on time (if not early) and my husband and I enjoyed chatting with him as he set to work tuning my piano. He was extremely reasonable and upfront about his pricing, and even gave us some funny impressions and anecdotes as he worked away. He went out of his way to even help us with some other technical piano-related issues that we had questions about. It was obvious that he wasn't just a great piano tuner, but a very personable person. If you're looking for the most enjoyable tuning experience imaginable, set up an appointment with Ron! You won't regret it! read more

I am a private voice teacher and we just moved to a new house. We called Ron to help us get my old childhood piano back into shape! Ron just finished up his second visit with us today. He cleaned/repaired/tuned my piano and it sounds great! He even managed to save the little red lettering I marked on my keys when I was 6 years old so that I could learn the keyboard better! :) Ron is very knowledgeable, conscientious, and friendly. I appreciate that he respected the sentimental value i have in that piano, while bringing it back to life! His prices are reasonable and he provides an amazing service. I recommend him highly! read more

Ron was amazing and took just the right care of my 95-year old Wurlitzer that hadn't been tuned in years. Extremely knowledgeable guy and an amazing piano-player to boot! Very reasonably priced as well. I will definitely be going back to Ron at PianoWorks for my annual tunings! read more

What a great experience with Ron at PianoWorks!! He was very kind, honest and professional and did a complete overhaul on our family piano from the early 1900's. He kept me updated regularly on his progress during the rebuild, which really went the extra mile. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

Ron went above and beyond on my piano repair and was extremely easy to work with and informative each step of the way. From a rats nest (literally) that had chewed away some hammers and caused some keys to stop working, he was able to identify the issue immediately and fit replacement hammers the same day. Ron also did a full damper replacement and took great care to safely remove and transit them. Lastly he also tuned the piano in two stages and it sounds better than ever! His knowledge is second to none and you cannot go wrong with Austin Piano Works!! read more

I'm a piano teacher. The venue for our recital asked me to help find someone to tune the instrument. My usual guy couldn't make it - but Ron couldn't have been easier to work with. Bergeron may be the best piano tuner on the planet, but he is flaky and unreliable. I called him and set up an appointment, and he promised to text confirmation and details. When I hadn't received anything after a couple of hours, I called back. He insisted that he had sent it, then read back someone else's number that he had texted it to. He corrected it and sent me a confirmation. On the day of the appointment, he didn't show up. I called and he said that he canceled the appt because he had texted and emailed me the previous day, and I hadn't responded. Sure enough, he had sent the confirmation text to the wrong number again. And he admitted that he didn't have an email for me and only sent a text. When I expressed my concern, he told me to find another technician and hung up on me. read more

I've never owned a piano and our family recently acquired a 1961 Wurlitzer. I contacted Ron and let him know how uneducated I was regarding the aforementioned piano. He asked if I would kindly text him a picture. After doing as he requested Ron said it appears to be a late 1950's to early 1960's Wurlitzer. Absolutely incredible! He was spot on simply by looking at a picture. On tuning day Ron arrived and was perhaps one of the kindest and professional individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was true to his word on estimates and I look forward to seeing him in the future for all our piano needs. Ron is certainly an inspiration for all business owners and an exceptional pianist. read more

Ron came yesterday to tune my piano and was AWESOME. I bought my piano for $100 on Craigslist at least 10 years ago and had never had it tuned. It was in pretty sad shape and woefully out of tune, but for a VERY reasonable price, he cleaned it, tuned it, and even fixed the broken music stand. I couldn't be happier with his price, service, and results. Scheduling the appointment was easy and fast, and I'll definitely call him again! read more

Ron did an amazing job tuning my piano! This is the first time I've gotten my new-to-me piano tuned and so I was curious to see how it all worked. He let me watch him through the whole process and answered any questions that I had, which was really cool! He was upfront about his rates so I knew exactly what to expect, responded to my texts in a timely manner, and showed up on time to our appointment. And my piano sounds absolutely beautiful now! I cried over how beautiful it sounded when I first played it after it was tuned! Thank you Ron! read more

Ron is a very nice guy, but my experience being what it was, and with regard to pricing and the quality of the work, I would say that unless you are looking for a "quick and dirty" solution and are willing to pay a premium for that, be patient and look elsewhere. Ron is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I have a moving company and hehe has helped with tuning ,repair and even sell one.

A few years ago Ron tuned my "new" hand-me-down piano to as perfect pitch as it would let him. The piano is not worth much and the last time it was probably tuned would be 20 years before I unburried and rescued it. I called Ron after my husband blew all the dust bunnies out of it. It was so..off.. that it took two tunings to get it to be "on" key. I love that he took the time to explain why it would have to be tuned twice over a couple month period. It was worth the wait. The old girl needs another tune up and I thought of him first. read more

Ron was an exceptional resource for helping me sell my piano...and I wasn't even a client! I had called originally for some assistance on removing an old piano from my home. He had me send him some pictures, and told me that my best bet was to sell it myself on craigslist. I asked him several more questions. Even after he knew we would not be doing business together, he was patient, courteous, and knowledgeable. I could tell he had a real passion for pianos, and he knew what he was talking about. Highly recommended for anyone looking for any type of piano services. Thanks Ron! read more
