Very positive experience. Roger, from Capital Air, came out to our home to fix our furnace during an icestorm. He was here swiftly after we placed the call for service. He was professional, wore a face mask, ensured none of our many cats escaped, explained exactly what he did to fix the problem, and the charges were very reasonable for the work. Our air conditioner went out in the evening in 100 degree weather in Texas. We called the next morning at 8 am and they returned our call within 15 minutes. A tech was at our house by 9:00 am and the air was able to be fixed by 10 am. So thankful for this fast service as we are caring for my father who is 93 years old and can't take the heat. Our HVAC system was installed and maintained by Colley Company for 7 years. Last year, Colley Co merged with Capital Air and they took over the inspection and maintenance of the system. When we turned on the a/c this Spring, it did not cool at all. We called Eddie who came out added refrigerant to the unit and put dye in lines to determine where the leak was. The gas was quickly gone, so Eddie ordered a new coil for the unit and a few days later sent one of his technicians out to replace the coil. The technician replaced a fan in the compressor unit, removed the old coil and installed the new one, and refilled the system with refrigerant. It was a 5 hour job, but when he left the a/c was blowing 46 degree air from the vents. We will continue to enjoy the same high level of service from Capital Air as we did before. This was my first time to use this company and it was a big mistake that I didn't call then years ago to work on my A/C. I have had at least three different A/C repair company's over the years and even had my unit replaced and it still had problem. And of course the ones who installed the new A/C unit wanted to replace items that weren't covered under warranty. Well I got lucky and contacted Capital Air. They came out and identified one problem but I had to call them back out because of other issues. They finally identified the problem I have had for yours with the heat pump. I called Lewis for a free second opinion after Mr.Cool told me I needed a $1400 repair on a 6-year -old unit. Lewis came out to Dripping Springs all the way from Leander and told me I needed to do nothing! He disputed Mr. Cool's claim and said I did not have a leak, nor was the pan rusted through like Brian from Mr. Cool claimed. He could have easily agreed and said I needed a coil replaced and then beaten Mr. Cool's price, but this man has morals and class. He didn't charge me a dime and he took time to explain things to me! If you live in the Austin area and need someone knowledgable and most importantly honest for your AC needs...call Lewis at Capital Air!! By the way, our relocation company later also sent out an HVAC guy to do their own inspection.....this guy also agreed with Lewis that nothing needed to be done at this time. read more

When I got home after work today, the a/c in the house wasn't blowing cold air. I called Capitol Air to see about getting someone out to provide service, which I figured would be the next day since it was after 6 p.m. when I called. Surprisingly, I got a call back from Eddie, the owner, within about 20 minutes. He came right over and quickly had our 17 year old A/C unit back up and running. They weren't, but the price was very fair, and Eddie was very knowledgable. He took time to look things over thoroughly and to discuss all our options. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint against Capital Air both with TDLR and the BBB. I hired a company to evaluate and assess the HVAC in a home I plan on purchasing. The company I hired provided a detailed analysis and quote which included approximately $2600 worth of repair and replacement parts needed in order to bring the HVAC to proper working order. These were some serious issues which included leaks in both the condenser coil and the plenum. Capital Air was contacted by the seller to come out and determined that NOTHING was wrong with the system and there were NO leaks at all, despite both the home inspector and the company I hired finding otherwise. The owner of the company I hired came out personally to re-evaluate his technicians work and it was found to be accurate and the leaks were confirmed via a leak detection test. These guys obviously do not know what they're doing and should not only be avoided at all cost but should be fully investigated for malpractice. read more

Capital air also Brothers (TACLB21190E) provides questionable service. They charged me over $2,000 more to install a unit than it cost them to buy. We had agreed upon a cash discount for the price and understanding the quote was without the cash discount, they refused to provide me any cash discount. After asking the company for over a month to provide information used on a rebate form, I finally contacted national air/heat unit company which emailed information. These problems and answers to questions that turned out to be false - like the SER rating of new unit, why they could not provide certain information, all leads me to believe my old unit did not have holes in the coil. Stay clear of this company as they seem like people willing to install new unit's way above cost, not provide follow up service, and lie about questions you have asked. read more
