They then had the audacity to charge me about $1,000 for the part they broke. We hired a competent company afterward who confirmed Cool Horizons had done a terrible job and successfully repaired the system. When I called the owner to request a partial refund--suggesting I only pay the initial service fee, since they broke the system further--the owner yelled at me, used foul language, and aggressively hung up the phone. This company charges customers for their own mistakes and is run by an owner who is verbally abusive when challenged. Save yourself the money, the stress, and the exposure to abusive management. This business should not be operating.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! They came to our house and broke our upstairs A/C unit and now my 2 year son…read moreis left with a hot room. I called Trusted heating & cooling to sign up for the maintenance package. They came out and asked if I had any concerns with our system and told them down stairs unit was just replaced last year and the other been working fine. The technician then went and removed all of our air filters and told us we should replace them cuz they're dirty and left them on the side of the wall. He then went upstairs to look at the upstairs unit and turn on the AC to test it and went in our attic to look at the system. At this time our system was blowing cold air and everything was fine. He then and called me and said there was a problem and had me come up to the attic. He was trying to explain to me what was wrong but was having a hard time explaining it. Something about the board not working which I was confused and kept asking. Well it's been working completely fine today so I don't understand. He then told me I should just call our home warranty and they can fix it. Still confused as to if it was broken or not but said okay. Maintenance the other one. I thought this was very strange but figured out. I'll just have someone take a look at it. He then calls me outside about our brand new unit and tells me this one is broken as well. Once again not making sense and how it was broken that just it wasn't working and I should call the people that installed it and he doesn't want to touch it. It seems since I told him we had home owners warranty, he didn't want to work on any of our equipment because he couldn't upsell us. Also, I think he knew he broke the upstairs and wanted to leave as fast as possible. Once he left and I went upstairs I noticed it was tremendously hot and something wasn't right. I called the office and told them I believe it's broken. When I was looking at the thermostat nothing was working. When I spoke to the series manager he just said that his technician took videos and documented that it was already broken once he arrived. This is obviously not true because if it wasn't working we would have called our homeowners insurance not them to get are semi-annual maintenance before summer. The service manager didn't even try to help us get this resolved and back up and working basically said it was already broken and we are trying to pull fast one. I have never received this type of customer service before. I would never recommend this place to anyone. By far the worst experience I've ever had.

The Yelp page states that Trusted heating and cooling is based on respect and integrity, we did not experience that. We were told the scheduled maintenance to last 2 hours. The technician came in without offering to wear booties. Took down the filters and never put them back in. The technician then looked at the thermostat, turned the A/C on. We felt the COLD air come out. The technician then went to the unit, spent 15 minutes looking at the unit and said it was broken. We said that isn't the case because we could feel cold air at that exact time. He said we should contact our home warranty insurance and walked away. He then looked at our second a/c unit and said it was also broken (it is a brand new unit installed in May 2025) and to go through the company that installed it. He didn't seem like he wanted to work on anything since we told the technician we had home warranty insurance, which would limit his ability to upsell. Once he left, we noticed the first a/c unit stopped working and the thermostat signal light stopped blinking. The heat, fan and A/C stopped working. The other unit is working (thankfully). We immediately called the company back and were told the unit was broken and they will charge us $900 to fix it. And a technician couldn't come back until the next day. We told them our side of the story, how everything was working fine, but they shrugged it off. Stated they have video evidence it doesn't work. The technician was able to use the thermostat, the thermostat light was blinking and the unit was working properly. And now it is reported that it's broken upon seeing the unit. Trusted Heating and Cooling isn't taking accountability for the problem they caused, no ownership and no customer service to even offer to look at the unit to review what the technician reported and to try to fix it. They are following a report with notes that wasn't discussed with us and completely disregarding our point of the view. Do not use this company, as documented with other the reviews. We now need to find another solution to their problem, as we are now left with a A/C system that no longer works.

Justin the tech arrived and within 5 minutes he identified the problem and solution. He throughly explained everything and showed me the DAT was broken. He was able to replace and fix the system within 30 minutes. He was full of knowledge concerning HVAC with lots of tips and information about my system. He even invited me to take a look in the attic and explained some of the features. Another example of outstanding customer service far beyond what was expected. At this point, I've had to rely on other companies to fix the ongoing problems your team either caused or couldn't handle. When I called, the woman I spoke to (Abigail, I believe) was dismissive, unhelpful, and clearly uninterested in doing her job. She insisted I "have to" go through Atlas because of some supposed contract tied to the manufacturer warranty, claiming I'd "break the contract" if I didn't. When I asked her to provide this so-called contract, she brushed me off and said she was moving on to the next caller. That information was completely false. I've already had another company come out (again), and not only is my warranty perfectly intact, but they also had plenty to say about the incompetence of the original installation. After confirming there is no such contract with Atlas tied to the manufacturer warranty, it's clear your company isn't just delivering poor workmanship--you're also giving out incorrect and misleading information to customers. After a disheartening experience with a company that seemed more interested in upselling than figuring out the best solution (see my other reviews), I stumbled upon Atlas' YouTube videos. I loved the honest, no-BS approach. The fact that unlike other places, their team is not working on commission. And that they put their prices right there on their website. Lucky for us, their home base is in San Antonio but they also have offices in Austin and I believe DFW. Pretty much every person we dealt with at Atlas was great. Kayla(?) spent 20 minutes providing super helpful answers to my newbie questions on the phone when I was trying to figure out next steps. Jorge confirmed the problem, explained the pros/cons of various options, then did an incredibly thorough pre-install inspection that involved mapping and measuring every duct and air vent in the house. Pete was very responsive, got us clear estimates and set up a quick install. Our install team (I believe Frank & Israel?) was fast, professional and did beautiful work. And after the job, Stephanie & Anna made the process of getting our Austin Energy rebate fast and painless. On top of the great service, Atlas' prices were very competitive. In the end, we opted to go with a full HVAC system replacement, upgrading from our old 2.5 ton to a 3 ton unit. We got bids from 3 companies and ballpark prices from a couple more over the phone. Atlas was over $1000 cheaper than any other competitor for the system replacement (including a mom & pop shop we liked and the Costco/ABC quote after discounts for just a 2.5 ton). Their prices for R410A refrigerant and a leak check were also significantly lower than a couple of the big-name companies you've heard of (though higher than our mom & pop Carrier shop, which would still be my choice for a quick repair/diagnosis on an older unit). The only remotely negative part of the experience was that after Jorge's super-thorough inspection, we were put through to another guy on the phone who seemed pretty insistent that we needed a 3.5 ton unit. This would've required delays and additional $$$$ to upgrade our electrical system AND ductwork, plus disqualified us for the Austin rebate program. I finally had to politely but firmly say there was zero chance of that happening--especially since our 2.5 ton unit had worked just fine up till the end. It felt a little pushy and tone-deaf on their end vs. the great experience we had with everything else. It's a reminder that you still need to do your homework and always get a 2nd opinion before pulling the trigger with any HVAC company. But if I had to do it over again, Atlas would absolutely be top of my list.
