Solid local pizza. The pizza crust is nicely done: not too thick, but with a really nice chew and good leavening. The toppings were about what you would expect, but overall nicely presented. My only minor feedback was that the pizza was a little light on tomato sauce. The house salad was also nicely done. At first, it looked a little heavy on the cheese, but there was plenty of lettuce and vegetable toppings to balance things out. It made for a nice pizza shop style salad. In terms of ordering, everything was fairly easy. They don't really have a web site, so the best option is to call to place an order. In terms of finding a menu, they seem to have menu photos listed on their Facebook page. Not ideal, but that's where they are. If all else fails, you can basically expect all the normal options for a pizza place. Also note that this is very much a takeout pizza establishment. The space really isn't optimized for dine-in options. All told, this is a solid destination. Certainly some of the best pizza in the Greenfield area. read more

At first I was a bit weary of this place due to lack of an online presence, but that fear was not necessary. The food here is fantastic! We ordered the pizza bagels and a large stromboli with meatball, and wow, was it delicious. Word to the wise, the large stromboli was MASSIVE. My husband and I barely finished half of it. The bread was delightfully spongey (and garlic-y, and the inside was filled with delicious cheese, sauce, and tender meatballs. I will say that depending on the piece you get, you may get a little less filling (but I love garlic bread and my husband loves the filling, so it worked out for us). The pizza bagels were tasty. One order contains 2 bagel halves. We got ours with pepperoni. The pepperoni was a bit haphazardly tossed on, but the bagel was cheesy and saucy enough that it didn't really matter. The Sicilian pizza is legitimately one of the most delicious pizzas I have ever had! So excited to have found this little gem of a spot.

I was excited when Capezzuto's pizza opened with the previous recipes from the beloved pizza shop it took the place of. It felt like an icon of not just Greenfield but Pittsburgh was saved. Unfortunately when I asked this business to support our neighborhood yard sale instead of simply saying no they felt the need to say so in an extremely rude manner no to my friend. On the flip side, we wrote letters to several businesses in Greenfield like Homers Auto, Kevins Computer and Greenfield Jewelers and they were thrilled to help. Our minimum ask was $25. Yes, twenty five dollars. Then, as the COVID-19 pandemic ramped up I saw more and more posts concerned about businesses not having their staff wear masks. Capezzuto's came into this conversation several times. Several individuals reported them to the health department and on one inspection they found staff not wearing masks among other violations. Did you know you can look these up online for any restaurant? The owners of Capezzuto's lashed out at those who said they sure ensure their employees wear masks. The evenade excuses like "they simply wanted a quick break" despite several instances from multiple customers. In addition, the health department says that masks always must be worn in food prep areas. If they need a break, that's understandable. Step out of the food prep area and away from the food. The even larger concern is one of the owners often does not wear a mask. The other day walking by I was extremely disappointed to find the staff not wearing masks again. This is the fourth time I've personally witnessed them not wearing masks on different days. (This sounds really Karen I walk Greenfield Ave all the time.) Here's the real kicker. Their pizza is awesome. I love it. Absolutely love it. I've loved everything I've tried there. Businesses are not just about the food they serve. It's about if they take customer safety seriously, care about their employees and about the food they serve and so much more. It's the owners of this business who refuse to comply with public health guidelines. They choose to lash out at those who are critical of them and play the victim card because their pizza is well-loved. I'm not interested in businesses who do not operate in the interest of public safety. I really hope Capezzuto's changes. The first step will be to see how they reply to this review. read more

Tried Capezzuto's for the first time today and the pizza was excellent. We ordered a small white with tomato and a small pepperoni. I favored the white which had a great sauce and the tomato really made the pizza stand out. The pepperoni was great as well with the dough having a great taste and no flop. Friendly staff, quick, and delicious food. I was nervous when Conicella's closed, but so glad this place took over! So far I have had pizza, the cheesesteak sub, and the meatball parm sub - all were cooked to perfection. I always pick it up and have never had anything cold, soggy or less than satisfying. After hearing about this place i finally decided to try it. Order a X-Large 18" cheese pizza around 9:06pm pick it up around 9:30 got it home and ate four slices than my friend took ate some, than finally she took another bit and boom pulled hair out of her mouth and look at the slice and pulled hair off that. She instantly spit out the pizza and put the rest in the trash. After that she looked at the box and she found another piece of hair. Couldn't call the place back because they close at 10pm.
