This place was very expensive, about double what I normally pay to get a cut and color. The product they were offering were $40 apiece. I think they should be upfront about how much they are charging prior to booking the services because it is so outrageous. If I wanted to pay this much for my hair, I'll just get it done the next time I go to Chicago. In fact, I don't recall Chicago ever charging this much. read more

Before posting this review I gave this business a fair chance to correct the situation but the owner REFUSED to refund for the way they left my daughter's hair. On April 29, 2022 I brought my daughter in for highlights for Prom. I explained over the phone when making the appointment and again when we arrived for the appointment that she had brown box dye in her hair previously. They said it would not be a problem. The hairdresser that worked on my daughter's hair put the foils in and never checked them throughout. She then used the wrong toner. By the end of the process my daughter's hair looked a mess and they had the nerve to send us on our way like they did a good job. I had to take her to another salon the next day because she had Prom the next night. I was charged $84 and let them know before paying that we were NOT happy. I emailed the owner immediately afterwards and received an email back the next morning REFUSING to give a refund and standing behind the horrible job their salon did on my daughter's hair. Two years prior to this they had done another horrible job on my daughter's hair turning it all a dark brown/black when we came in to blend roots and a balayage. The owner and stylist admitted that the way her hair turned out was not intentional and they corrected it free of charge. I know mistakes happen and gave them another chance after that but now obviously, I will never use this salon again. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Illinois Attorney Generals Office in regards to the refund. I will update my review once that process is complete. read more

The 5 star review is for Janice, who cut my husband's hair and beard trim. If I could give a zero 0 star review, it would be for Stephanie. I had a same day appointment. Called at 10 am and was scheduled for a 1pm cut, style, touch up and foil. I also had a massage afterward so it's not like I'm not willing to pay for good services. Met with Stephanie except she never introduced herself, I had to ask her her name. She pretty much made it known she didn't want to do my hair by the way she made no conversation with me (only with her coworkers and next customer), yanked my knots with a comb even though they sell the Wet Brush. When I suggested she use the Wet Brush, she became defensive and said "I know I have one". Stephanie never explained what she was going to do to my hair; she was more concerned with beading a side project or completely ignoring me. The kicker is she didn't even want to photograph my hair it was like "ok biotch I'm done, get out of my chair". Which I don't really care about though because it seem like she wanted to create a younger clientele since I'm in my 40s. Girl, you get old and saggy too and way sooner cuz black don't crack. My husband on the other hand had Janice. So professional, she knows EXACTLY what she's doing. Doesn't need to be told what to do. Will return to see her for sure!!!!! Oh I forgot to mention Stephanie's fake laugh, it's irritating. She needs to work on that, too. PS The Massage by Tess WAS AMAZING!!!!! Going back for that too!!!!! Went to Capelli's over the weekend for my sisters wedding to get our nails & toes done. My stepmom called in advance and booked our appointment, they knew how many of us were coming and instead of informing us they only had 2 pedicure chairs, they had us come in anyways. Our appointment time was 1:30 pm and they booked us all out to have us there until about 7 at night with the final person going at 6:15. They DID NOT tell her any of this in advance so we obviously all went in together thinking we'd all be getting pedicures and manicures together, not 1-2 of us at a time. Mind you when we arrived, they only had 1 person doing pedicures and one person doing manicures. Out of 10 adults, 4 were unable to receive a service bc we had a rehearsal dinner to get to. On top of this extreme disappoint, a massage therapist ended up doing 2 of the women's pedicures and put some waxy substance on them that they both had trouble getting off their skin bc the lady said she wasn't sure how to use it. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed with our service & with the way things were handled, if we had simply been told they only had 2 chairs and couldn't handle such a big party, we would have found somewhere else to take our business. Now on the plus side, the staff in the building was kind, polite and mostly professional aside from being unhappy that 4 of us didn't get a service since we had to be at a rehearsal dinner, it didn't seem as if she was happy to remove those 4 from the invoice even though they didn't receive a service bc of their lack of communication with the person who booked the appointment. I would hope this experience will teach this business to discuss the lack of space for big parties and let clients know what they are capable of accomplishing when it comes to big parties. I will personally not be recommending this business to other big parties that need services done. read more

If I pay to get a blowout, I expect it to be a blowout. They just quickly dried my hair stick straight then ran a flat iron through it. I could do better myself. I also got a "spa pedicure" which was the worst I've ever experienced. The massage on each foot was less than two minutes. Such a lack of effort, and no foot dyer. The result was terrible. Rather than go on and on about how unhappy I am, I will just say that I'm never returning. Worst salon and service in Decatur. I'll never waste my money again. read more
