The smell as soon as you walk in feels like it's going to give you cancer. Its not a nail salon smell, its a over done oil or old candle smell. Everyone I was with and in the lounge smelt it. Major turn off. Now to the nails, I have NEVER gotten a manicure in under 15 minutes. The very next day I had multiple bubbles under my polish, the girl most definitely did not let my polish dry before adding another layer. THREE days later, the corners lifted and DAY FOUR all of my polish peeled off in one piece, nail by nail. Ive done my nails at own and have had more luck with them lasting longer & looking better. Would not recommend this salon unfortunately. read more

I recently moved to Decatur and was looking for a place to maintain my eyebrows. I've always gotten my brows threaded, but since I couldn't find threading services locally, I decided to try waxing for the first time. After doing some research, I chose Chic Nail Lounge because it had great reviews, especially for eyebrow services. I booked an appointment for an eyebrow and lip wax. When I arrived, I explained to the technician that this was my first time getting my eyebrows waxed, that I usually get them threaded, and that I was nervous. I specifically asked for a simple clean-up--not shaping or thinning, just a light touch-up. Unfortunately, my experience did not go as expected. After completing the first eyebrow, I immediately noticed that it was much thinner than I have ever had in my life--far beyond a "clean-up." It felt like most of my eyebrow had been removed. This was really upsetting, especially since I had clearly communicated what I wanted. The lip waxing was also not done carefully. There were still noticeable hairs left behind, and the waxing itself felt very harsh. The next day, after washing my face, I noticed that I had developed two small scars on my lip area, which I believe were caused by the waxing process. To their credit, I was not charged for the eyebrow service, and I only paid for the lip wax. I do appreciate that gesture. However, I am now left waiting for my eyebrows to grow back and dealing with irritation and scarring on my lip. Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience. As someone new to waxing and new to the area, I was hoping for a more careful and attentive service--especially after explaining my concerns upfront. I hope this feedback helps others who may be considering trying eyebrow waxing here for the first time. read more

i've been here twice. this last time, they told me they used the gel polish. the one that wasnt supposed to chip. i went home. i woke up to my polish chipped in multiple places. they didnt clean around my nails even tho she made it look like she did. i avoided the confrontation by not saying anything and never going back because i know i would go in and act a donkey. the lady that did my feet a rude attitude. my man kept telling me i should go back in the very next day but, again, i didnt want to cuss anybody out. i will be sticking to black owned nail businesses from now on. i wish i could upload the pictures from the very next day. read more

In town for the holiday and my BFF recommended this place. I needed a color change and the ability to just walk in for service. CNL did not disappoint. The salon is beautiful and I was greeted warmly. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes. So glad my hometown has this option. read more

I was very excited to get my nails and pedicure done. I made a pre appointment that was easy. I have had many manicure but never a pedicure. I am going to California to see my family. When I walked in for the appointment the staff was not very friendly. I felt awkward since it was the first time being there. I felt that they were not customer oriented. There was a big language barrier too. I tried to communicate but they were not understanding me at all and didn't really try. It was also uncomfortable because they were all speaking another language and had a bunch of them conversing.. it was very uncomfortable and it did feel like they were talking about me. Even if they were it would be alright if they gave me satisfactory service. It just added to the bad experience. I spent almost 200 dollars and felt it was not worth it. I usually like to give good reviews but I wanted others to know what experience I had and hopefully it will help someone else. I read reviews all the time. I didn't like the atmosphere, the lack of communication in regards how I wanted my manicure and pedicure done, but my nails and toes are okay not great. read more
