We booked the restaurant for a group of girls for Homecoming, and the staff were very kind and accommodating to them - and to the parents. An employee even alerted them of a photo op in front of a double rainbow after the storm. Up front food and service were TERRIFIC. Ambiance is non-existent. Factually, hardscaped restaurants aren't quiet and the Canyon House isn't ... not even close. We had reservations for 6 and were seated immediately even though our last couple was 25 minutes late. Hunter was 'on' us and drink orders quickly appeared. Dinner orders were delayed until arrival of the last couple and catching up but Hunter was very patient with. The 3 ladies in our group ordered Hamburgers (it being National Cheese Burger week (who knew), and each burger was ordered based on the unique particulars of the orderer. BTW, irrespective of the different particulars each burger was PERFECT! Great job Hunter and kitchen staff!!! Other orders included the Stir Fry, Short Rib Tacos, and a Spicy Pizza. The stir fry was described as 'wonderful'. My Spicy Pizza was AMAZING! The Tacos were equally amazing as I shared part of my pizza in exchange for a taco. I'm not sure how they stuffed that much short rib meat into a taco but they did. And the tacos were very nicely spiced. Nor am I sure how they spiced up the pizza but it was incredibly fresh tasting. AND, because my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary the house comped a dessert brownie topped by a torched house-made marshmallow. Very tasty and very nice of the Canyon House to do that! We stayed a long while and although the restaurant emptied a bit there was no pressure to leave. It was a really great evening. 10/10 recommend Canyon House. We did not have a reservation, but luckily were able to get a seat right away, we came at 5:15pm on a Saturday. We started off with A Split Decision and a classic cosmo, the split decision was amazing, the banana is super subtle. Then we got the meatballs, they come with 5, plenty to share and great flavor. Followed by the Tuscan pasta with steak and Nashville chicken. The pasta was delicious, but be prepared for the sandwich, it's HOT. The manager treated us to a delicious, insane butter cake....an absolute must and trust the beverage they pair with their desserts, incredible dessert all around! A very beautiful building with a nice view. You can choose to sit outside or inside and they have these big doors that they open for you to feel like you can sit inside, but still enjoy the outside atmosphere. Everyone who worked here was very nice and the food was delicious. They also had a good variety of specialty drinks. I got the Nashville hot chicken and a side salad. So good! This place is the proverbial hidden gem. I never knew there was a restaurant over in this development. We had reservations which were handled professionally and on time. We were seated right by the fireplace service was quick and the food was incredible. The drinks were also very good and unique. It's not a huge place so as they get more popular, it might be challenging. The bread pudding for dessert was especially good. They also have a great wine list. read more

I had high expectations for The Canyon House based on what I'd heard from others and the great reviews on OpenTable. While our experience had some ups and downs, overall, it was a great place, and we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. We arrived on time for our reservation, but our table wasn't quite ready. However, they offered us a spot on the heated outdoor patio, which ended up being perfectly fine, even in the colder weather. The atmosphere is really nice--modern, cozy, and tucked away in a quiet residential area, giving it a quaint, intimate feel. Service was definitely a highlight! Our waiter was very attentive, and the manager even stopped by to check in and make sure we were happy with everything. The drinks were wonderful--one of my friends had the chai old fashioned and absolutely loved it. I had a glass of wine, and the ladies in our group stuck with water, but the cocktail list looked really impressive. Now for the food--this is where things didn't quite meet the high expectations I had going in. I ordered the salmon, and unfortunately, it was overly salty and dry, which was disappointing. My wife had the chicken, which was good, but nothing particularly exciting. On the other hand, my friend ordered the burger and raved about it--he said it was amazing, and honestly, it looked fantastic. His wife got the Mediterranean wrap with added chicken, and she absolutely loved it. So, while some dishes fell short, others seemed to really hit the mark. For dessert, we all shared the butter cake, and it did not disappoint! It was rich, flavorful, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, The Canyon House has a lot going for it--great service, a welcoming atmosphere, and some really solid menu items. While my dish wasn't a standout, I'd still come back and try different options next time. Based on what my friends ordered, I'm optimistic that there are some great dishes here. We had the worst experience here a few weeks ago. We showed up at 4 pm just to have a HH beverage and appetizer and we were met with the most unfriendly hostess who told us they were "completely booked and had no room". It was pretty quiet so we asked if we could have a drink and an appetizer and they very begrudgingly agreed to "allow" us to sit at the bar. The attitude from the bartender and sever was fierce. We left quickly after an hour (it was still dead- no tables were full) since we didn't feel welcome. I realize this is Castle Pines and can be snotty but we were a small crew of well dressed professional women from South Denver just trying to have a drink post work. All I can say is the vibes were really off and the service was so nasty I would never recommend if you want to feel welcomed at a spot. read more

My husband and I made a reservation for a nice dinner and drinks on the covered patio. After we ate and drank we were just sitting enjoying the last of our drinks. The waiter came to our table and said we needed to leave because someone else reserved our table. I am very disappointed as we were kicked out. Never again! The following salads and entree's lacked seasoning and the sauces with entrees were lukewarm or cold. The bar and restaurant is open design with high ceiling so noise level is high. If I could give less than 1 star I would. We came for our anniversary thinking it would be a beautiful place to go to watch the sunset, share a bottle of wine and have a decent meal. We had a reservation and weren't seated for 10+ minutes after that, fine whatever. We sat and ordered a bottle of wine immediately and it took at least 25 mins to even get our bottle out to us. We ordered a salad and the millionaire burger. We sat there from 7:30 until 9 pm when the waitress finally came out and said they were closing the kitchen and that they had somehow messed up the millionaire burger...... it's been an hour and a half. it takes maybe 5 mins to prepare a salad and a hamburger that's actually nuts. They then eventually brought our food out in to go containers since the entire place was closing down. They forgot the $8 chicken we ordered to add to the salad too.
