We stopped by here for brunch because I wanted family who were visiting from out of town to experience a local restaraunt before we did some shopping nearby. The staff was great and the food was amazing. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather (other than the wasps that found our table). I had the corned beef hash skillet and it was delicious. The biscuits are freshly made and were fluffy and went perfectly with some butter. My cousin got the eggs Benedict and she was raving about them. My other cousin got the avocado toast and she said it was the best she's had. Everything was fresh and delicious. I hope to be back soon to try more items from the menu. read more

I came here for breakfast yesterday and again today... Two days in a row so that's saying a lot already. Servers are so friendly and service is great. I love the classic diner vibe. The marble is beautiful. It's a historical building and has a pretty cool story behind it. Just ask your server for the pamphlet. We got items off the seasonal menu. I had the strawberry waffle which was absolutely delicious! My bf got the Irish skillet which had corned beef. It was pretty good and came with hollandaise on the side. While we were there we kept seeing these giant cinnamon rolls come out of the kitchen. We joked that we would come back the next day for one but that's actually exactly what we did. Cinnamon roll was AMAZING. My bf could not stop going back for more bites even after he was stuffed. He also devoured the country skillet which he very much enjoyed. I got the old fashioned plate with the English muffins. Some diners have low quality coffee but this place has a good roast. They'll even offer you a cup to go which is nice. First time customer to the B&B cafe and can tell you that I'd go back in the future if I was in that area again. Huge breakfast and lunch menu with everything you could think of including burgers, omelettes, bowls, and burrito's. Ordered a breakfast birria quesadilla that came with sour cream and guacamole that worked out to be a pretty good dish. Their chile relleno was a little unique as it was baked and not deep fried, stuffed with cheese and served with beans and rice. Was in town for business and on our way home decided to stop in for breakfast before hand. I am so glad we did. We went to sit inside and it was really loud but it was a prefect morning to sit outside on the patio. I ordered a large orange juice for my drink and it was a great way to start having the freshly squeezed flavor and it was a large glass. I ordered the Cambridge Skillet. Eggs were cooked perfectly as was the bacon and potatoes. The bacon was cut in bite sizes and still thick. The sauce was a really nice additive. My biggest complaint is that I can't get It here in Kansas for breakfast everyday!! I will absolutely go back here!!! We've been eating at the B for over 60 years. It was a wonderful place, but not anymore. We moved a few years ago and stopped by for breakfast today. Service was terrible and food was worse. My husband was served way under cooked bacon, sent it back. Both of us had under cooked potatoes. They were very hard in the middle. My sausage gravy over a biscuit wasn't made with sausage, but bacon. Food sat waiting for some time and was served luke warm. Our waitress didn't bring our food, someone else did and it was hard to get a second cup of coffee. McDonalds serves a much better breakfast. FYI they now have a "convenience" fee. read more

Went here on Saturday for brunch and thankfully we joined the wait list online cause our table was ready exactly when we arrived. Our friend recommended this place so we decided to go. It was PACKED. It's a fairly small place to begin with but every seat was filled and for a very good reason! I got the chicken and waffles ($13.99) cause I'm not really much of a breakfast person and it was a huge portion for a good price! I devoured everything. The chicken tenders were slightly overcooked but the southwest sauce really fit well with the tenders! The waffle was also really good too! The honeydew was okay which was expected as it was December and they aren't in season haha. The waitress was pretty nice and quick with our order. The whole restaurant itself has a homey feel which was nice. I would highly recommend this place whether you like breakfast or not as they have a wide variety of food for everyone! :D read more

So, I've been wanting to try this place ever since I moved to Castle Rock nearly two years ago. Time flies! This is a historical building in downtown Castle Rock. Established in 1946, this cafe was founded by Laura Barker and her son, Howard Barker. Hence the name, B&B. On February 14, 1946, a fugitive, that was wanted for shooting a few Denver police officers was spotted in this restaurant. Patrons confronted the fugitive along with Marshall Lewis, and one of his deputies. Marshall Lewis was shot and killed while trying to apprehend the fugitive, leaving behind two bullet holes in the ceiling and wall. I noticed one of the bullet holes in the ceiling while sitting at the bar. I was seated at the far end of the bar, closest to the front door. It was a chilly day when I visited so I caught a very cool breeze every time the door was opened and closed. A hostess seated me and took my drink order shortly afterwards. I ordered the chicken fried steak with homemade biscuit covered in sausage gravy and served with home fries along with choice of eggs. I ordered my eggs the usual, over medium. The meal was okay. I wasn't overly impressed as I've had better chicken fried steak elsewhere. There are so many good breakfast and brunch options out there these days. The meal was filling. It didn't leave me hungry or wanting more after I was finished. What I enjoyed the most was having a meal in a historical building and being surrounded by patrons enjoying their food. I recommend getting put on a waitlist before arriving, if that option is available. Otherwise, it will most likely be a 20-25 minute wait for a table. I've walked by here in the past on Sundays and have noticed they're not that busy. You may want to try for a Sunday. I would return to eat again. Not sure when that will be. However, so glad I experienced this place in downtown Castle Rock! If you haven't tried B&B, it's worth a try! Hope you have a pleasant experience. read more

They were very busy and on a wait list and we were able to immediately able to grab counter seats. Even though they were busy, we had the best service! Hubs had a breakfast skillet, I had a turkey bacon sandwich (did feel eggy), and GBaby had a 2-egg kids meal. All generous portions and great meals on a Saturday morning. read more

They seat 2 people at a table large enough for six and despite that those folks haven't ordered or been served yet, the host refuses to seat the right number of people at the right size table resulting in others having to wait for 30 to 45 minutes. When asked why can't the two be seated at the available table right next to them instead, the host used a robotic answer that made absolutely no sense "we don't move people, we seat at any size table". She didn't bother to ask? We're now waiting with a family of 6 including a baby for 45 minutes. Will update how the food and rest of service is but not a great start. Using folks for hosts that are observant and courteous would have been a good start for this place. read more

If there is a better cinnamon roll in town, I have yet to find it. Recently came here with a group of 4 people for brunch. Everyone loved their meal. I had the delicious cinnamon roll with a side of the very generous and fresh, Fruit Medley. The Parisien Benedict was a huge hit. My daughter loved her French toast on the Vienna bread. Classic Castle Rock breakfast. I love going here with friends to catch up. I had a dirty chai with oat milk last time that was so good. I also had the breakfast quesadilla which was perfect. I always have leftovers here and I love how big their menu is. They've been open forever and while there's almost always a wait, it's a classic spot in town. Lots of seating both inside and outside. I heard a lot about this place. I am not a breakfast fan, but if you call me out to brunch, 9 times out of 10, I will probably go. I got the french toast made with banana bread (since I enjoy making my own banana bread - mainly to compare) and a peppermint cafe latte. The french toast was a bit filling and kind of sweeter tban I expected, but I enjoyed eating the 2 out of 3 slices. It was a bit too rich for my taste. The peppermint cafe latte was good. I was expecting a bit more for the $6 I paid for this. The atmosphere was nice. I had to reserve online and it took about 35mins, however, we made it just in time. The service was attentive and nice. My wife and I have eaten breakfast at the B&B often over the years, and almost always have had good service and good food. Today breakfast was just OK, not really good like usual (although the breakfast potatoes were lousy and for some time haven't been anywhere as good as they used to be). But the server was a problem. She missed a few things good servers do, but the jaw-dropper was her response when we told her the middle of the peach pie was not baked. She said as she kept walking by, "Well I'll be sure to tell them next time to bake it completely." What??? So I followed her and told her I wanted the pie removed from the bill. This place seems to be a Castle Rock staple. I had a skillet and they messed up my order. I was fine at first, but it took a long time and by the time mine arrived my partner had already finished his meal. I'd have accepted it, but they gave me food I am severely allergic to and prefaced my order by saying that. The food was pretty low quality and meat was fatty and clearly they rushed because my bacon was limp and fatty to the point I didn't eat more than a bite. I don't understand the hype, at all. Clearly food standards are pretty low here, which is so bizarre being this is a relatively affluent area. My mind is blown how there are so many rave reviews. I'm genuinely curious how many are real and not the owners friends. read more

Best breakfast/lunch spot in town! It's Always hopping but if you get on the waitlist ahead of time you are usually only waiting a few minutes. The food is great and the service is ALWAYS good!! I once sat at the bar and just watched while I waited for my food. I was super impressed with the team work I saw displayed. One person would bring up a tray of clean glasses another would start unloading it and then be needed elsewhere and so another automatically finished the job. It was like being inside a beehive or something. So cool! Also the staff doesn't seem to have very much turnover at all. I've seen the same folks for years. Such a disappointing experience. The food was on the more expensive side but the quality did not reflect that. Everything just tasted off. The potatoes weren't not fully cooked. I got a full plate and added chocolate chips which was an extra $4. When I got my food they had just added a handful sprinkled on top and yet it was $4. For that price I expected to have them cooked into the pancake and have many more. Such a waste of money. The service was fine but nothing amazing. Definitely won't be returning. If you end up coming definitely bring your own bag of chocolate chips and you save a lot more money. read more

This spot was really hopping for a Tuesday morning! The staff were friendly and the space was clean. The patio is a nice place to sit on a sunny summer morning. I think we may have ordered wrong. The menu is very extensive so there is no way to make everything from scratch. The waffles and pancakes looked pretty good but we chose to go the healthy route and were punished for it. We both ordered the garden frittata with a fruit cup. I ordered no mushrooms. They were really accommodating about allowing us to switch out the fruit cup for the salad, but my frittata was definitely full of mushrooms. The fruit up was good, as was the buttermilk biscuit. The frittata itself was average and the potatoes were not evenly cooked (some were still frozen inside) All in all the service was good so I would maybe go back and order something else. read more

I always get excited about the home cooking at local cafes but unfortunately this Cafe misses the mark. I had the cheeseburger with 2 patties, bacon, cheese and an egg. I asked for the hamburgers medium rare. The burgers came out like hockey pucks and I didn't realize they would be super thin. The egg, bacon and bun were just fine. My friend had the fish n chips. The fish was just low grade, frozen store bought variety. The French fry servings were a little on the meager size in my opinion. Great service and really awesome ambiance. read more

Who doesn't like B&B. Every time I go there, I make a new friend. The customers and staff always feel like family. The portions are always delicious and HUGE and I end up with a to-go box. Wanted a quick casual bite and drove past B&B. Classic old school diner in this little small town. Friendly hostess seated us in a booth and our great server Scott quickly appeared. We were looking for brunch and the menu offered numerous great burgers and breakfast options. We went with Denver and Santa Cruz omelets. So good. Santa Cruz was a healthy combo with chicken, avocado and green chilies with a side salad. Denver was Ham, veggies and cheese. Also English muffins were think and fresh too. Both were good - nothing fancy - not oversized or undersized. Good portions and good taste. I would definitely stop by for breakfast and a cup of coffee - but likely try their Cinnamon Roll.
