A couple things worth mentioning: the kids meal portions are quite small, and the chile rellenos don't always have cheese inside. At this price point, I'd expect those details to be consistent every single visit. Overall though, it's still one of our family's go-to spots for Mexican food! First time having breakfast and ordered Chilaquiles and Huevos Rancheros which is accompanied by two eggs each and requested eggs be cooked Over Easy. All four eggs were overdone with toasted edges and toasted top surface. Not good when considering eggs are probably top selection of breakfast plates. May be that all egg plates do not meet proper quality relative to egg requests or overcooked, Waitress did offer to reorder eggs but we were 1/2 way thru meal so declined. Didn't ask for reduction in price of meal nor were we offered. Won't be back for breakfast but do like several entrees offered on Lunch and Dinner menu. Hopefully they can train chef, cook or cooks on how to cook an over easy egg. Obvious there is not enough quality control. read more

Food- 0 stars- gross cold, uncooked Service/friendliness- 3 stars- wait staff was slow but the host was very friendly when we arrived If you are not ordering fried food, don't bother. The 2nd star is because it seemed the party I was with had actual-cooked/heated food. It seems this is the only Mexican restaurant that can't cook cheese in an enchilada- twice. I've eaten at the Littleton and Highlands Ranch locations many times and it's always been great- but the Castle Rock location sucks. I ordered cheese enchiladas and after taking the first bite, realized it was cold and the cheese was still shredded and cold, uncooked inside. I should have known when he handed me a cold plate. So I flagged the waiter and let him know. About 10 min later he came back and the only change was the enchilada sauce was now burned and hard, stuck to the plate, but the inside of the enchiladas was still cold and uncooked. I don't know how they messed that up twice! How?! By this time, I didn't have time to order anything else, as I was with a group and we had somewhere to be shortly. So I had to go get a banana from Whole Foods to tide me over. I won't ever return, and likely won't go to Los Dos in general much anymore, cause if this poor attention to food quality/safety is so easy at one location- it'll be easy at another. Great dinner with granddaughter and boyfriend. Wife ordered a house Chardonnay which, as I understand it wasn't a Chardonnay but a white blend and I got the impression it was the only white they had. Seemed odd to me. The wine was okay. She ordered 2 Ala carte Chicken Enchiladas and I ordered the Chicken Chili Rellano SOFT. The crispy version is more traditional but I prefer the softer method. Although tasty it turned out a bit 'soupier' than I expected. Normally my Rellanos haven't included chicken so maybe that's why the 'soupier'. As a result it wasn't the greatest although ranking it as #3 on my top 10 list. The Enchiladas were just okay and curiously they were served on 2 separate plates. First time here. Came on a Friday for lunch. The parking lot is large, so no problem finding a spot. We were welcomed in and seated. I was distracted by the person behind glass making the wonderful fresh tortillas. As homebrewers, my husband and I were interested in what their brew set up looked like. It was behind glass and visible from where we were seated. Always neat to see how a brewery is set up, no two are the same. Dulce took care of us. We started with chips and salsa. The chips were warm and the salsa was fresh with a nice kick. He got a taco plate with ground beef tacos, rice and beans. He paired that with the LDP IPA. He enjoyed his meal. I love Chile Rellenos, so that is what I chose for my lunch. It came smothered with their green chili and with some of those wonderful warm tortillas on the side. I paired mine with their Aqua Fresca, a slightly altered base of their Mexican Lager with the addition of Prickly Pear purée and Key Lime. It was refreshing and tasted like summer. Came here the day before Fourth of July. and we got there around 3:45 and didn't get seated until 4:15-4:45, you get started with complementary chips and salsa, and you can order a habanero salsa if you're feeling frisky and want some spice in your life. we also ordered the small side of guacamole which was fresh and flavorful. My girlfriend ordered the chicken street tacos. It had a very fresh taste to it. The cilantro and lime were extremely flavorful and a great side to add on top of the taco. I ordered the California burrito which had tremendous flavor. I'd recommend both of these dishes. The service was extraordinarily well. Drove down to Castle Rock with friends specifically to go to this location. Service was slow all around including getting water, drinks, food. 1 entree was undercooked and had to be sent back. Another was cold. A side order never came, asked 2 times but was still put in the bill. It was kind of busy for a weeknight but still plenty of servers and staff around. Maybe it was just an off night- but one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had in a while. read more

The taquitos were nice and crispy and I like that they came with green chili for dipping. My main concern was that the meat didn't have much flavor- not wrong per se, just not great. My husband felt the same about his tacos. I'm willing to come back and try something else on the menu as some things were pretty good but I don't know that I'd go out of my way to eat here. read more

Been coming here off and on for two years and lately the food quality has gone way down. I gave this place 5 stars 2 years ago, due to their amazing green chili and good margaritas, especially the coin margarita. Welp now everything has changed. Went on a Friday night at 6, hardly a wait, which is surprising for a Friday night. We get our food, my chili rellano was horrible. Hardly any chili in it, just mass amounts of unmelted cheese, barley any green chili to smother it. My husband got the Molcajate and had zero spice as he likes it extra spicy. Meat was just ok, tasted bland. I'm giving this 2 stars as the Coin margarita was still on point and we had good service. But I think the problem is they are trying to turn tables too fast and rush everyone's food order. The quality has gone way down hill. This is not the original Los Dos like the one on county line and in Littleton. Very disappointing to say the least. read more

We arrived at noon for a weekday lunch. I had a huge combo plate that provided lots of yummy leftovers. The Castle Rock location is the fifth & newest to open. The other restaurant locations are in Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Parker & Denver. This is a family run business where everything is made from scratch. The restaurant was named after his (Jose Ramirez) two sons, it means two young horses. This lively restaurant is beautifully decorated with high ceilings & fantastic views. However, the place was very loud, it was difficult to hear one another in conversation. This restaurant even has an on-site brewery! Plus plenty of parking. We started with complimentary chips & salsa. The chips were good but need salt & the salsa was delicious. I had the combo #10 that included three items & I added a couple of tortillas to the meal for $2. The crispy Chile Relleno was cheesy & really crisp, it had a wonderful sauce. It was outstanding & my favorite. The smothered Beef & Bean Burrito was very good as well. The Cheese Enchilada was good, however I thought the sauce was too tomatoey. Second time to this location after the first time soon after their opening wasn't so good. It's a little crazy that they seem to always be busy. We showed up before 5 on a Saturday, and there was already a 30 min wait. We managed to find two seats at the bar, so we just did that rather than wait for a table. Service at the bar was a little hit or miss. We eventually ordered our drinks. I liked both porters, so I went with the Piper's, but could've gotten the coffee, while my daughter had a strawberry margarita. Beer was good; she liked her marg but wasn't sure it had much alcohol in it. We each got the combo chicken and steak fajitas, which were fairly large and very good. Tortillas and guacamole are good, but rice and beans are just fair. I'd definitely come back for the food; however, I wish the waits weren't as long and the service was a bit more attentive from the start. read more

If you're in Castle Rock, do yourself a favor and stop at Los Dos -- and whatever you do, order the molcajete. I went with my family, and from the moment we walked in, everything was top-notch. We were seated right away, and the service was friendly and efficient. The chips and salsa were next-level -- hands down, some of the best restaurant chips and salsa I've ever had. Crispy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. My brother had visited the month before and couldn't stop raving about the molcajete. He insisted we all order it, and I'm so glad we did. When I tell you this is one of the best Mexican dishes I've ever tasted, I'm not exaggerating. The cheese was unreal -- gooey, flavorful, and absolutely mouthwatering. The rock bowl was boiling hot from start to finish, keeping every bite warm and delicious. It felt like there was an endless amount of meat and food packed into that bowl. The portion is huge -- you could easily have leftovers for lunch and dinner the next day. On top of the amazing food, the view was stunning, adding to the overall experience. Terrible service, especially before the dinner rush. We ordered a molcajete, didn't receive tortillas till 10 minutes later. My friend asked for one special modification for her drink, "salt on the rim" and that wasn't followed. Food took forever. And in the molcajete had a giant blob of cheese that previously was at the bottom, easily making it easy to eat the meat. Instead it was like fishing the meat out from the stranger things world of cheese. $69 for terrible service and not even an alcoholic beverage. I will be asking for a refund tomorrow. Go to Savina's instead. This is usually one of my favorite restaurants, especially the one in Highlands Ranch. Came in last week, not during rush hour, and had a terrible experience. Had a waitress with purple hair that didn't check on us once, not ONCE.... food was COLD, cheese not melted, had to flag down a hostess for refills, and we were definitely disappointed since this is not typical for the HR location. This Castle Rock location is 0/2 for us so far. I don't know what's happened to this place, but training needs to be done in the kitchen and the dining room. It would be more accurate to say that the food is often good, but is not Consistent . Our group arrived before 5pm and were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. We weren't seated until around 6:40. I want to be fair and love this place. But I didn't. The server Louisa was nice and their customer service manager came around to check on people. But the service time is a little long. The restaurant has a great view and the enclosed patio was lovely to sit in. After much debate, I decided to order the ceviche and she went with quesadillas. She changed her mind last minute and got steak instead of cheese. She regretted the choice as the steak was fatty and chewy. Yuck. My ceviche was fine. And the original skinny margarita strong and good. She wanted to try the place and we have. We won't be back. La Loma is a better option for the price. Restrooms were fine. Parking was fine. It can get crowded so come early or be prepared to wait. They don't take reservations. In fact, no one answers the phone when you call. Always very busy and pretty loud but that's to be expected. Service is usually good; sometimes servers seem a little too busy but there's enough people around filling water, salsa, etc or to grab if you need something. I've had lots of different food from here and it's always been good. The molcajete is really good and really filling, definitely enough for 2 people. All the enchiladas I've had are great. Fajitas are great. Kiddos always like the kids food. We keep coming back for a reason! Los Dos Potrillos has a nice modern atmosphere, decent beer they brew on premise, and a large closable deck with a great view of the front range. The food was below average. I was excited to get a traditional fried Chili Relleno. I assume it had been fried at some point but it can out sogy and cold. The cheese was a solid glob wrapped in a relleno smothered in salsa. The bean and rice were good, but I never got over the disappointment from reheated food. Service was friendly, and the generous queso bowl was solid. This place is pretty good, this location is beautiful. I have been to the location in Parker as well, both are insanely busy! We went on a Friday night and waited about 15 minutes for a table, which wasn't a bad wait time. I got really excited when I saw the passion fruit beer on the list. I would recommend it to everyone, it was fruity and delicious. I'm pretty basic and got the cheese enchiladas, the sauce was very good and they put chopped onions, which added a great flavor. A few friends and I met up at Los Dos Potrillos for lunch in Castle Rock. Upon entry we were seating within 15 minutes and our server came right over to get our meal ordered and started. Our server offered us her advice of drink and food choices which turned out to be great!! The Birria tacos were really good. Beautiful new additional location to the Los Dos Potrillos franchise. This location has stunning views with indoor patio and outdoor patio. The food was also spot on delicious. I love Fridays and Saturdays at Los Dos because their Carnitas are available. The bartender makes a great skinny margarita. The servers are also friendly. The service was a bit slow, and we had to ask for silverware, so this hindered the 5 stars rating. When they finish with their growing pains of the new location, I'm sure this will even out and 5 stars it will be! read more

Absolutely wonderful. We had an 80th birthday party for my Mother at the Denver location. From reserving the back room space with Arturo, to the day of the party and being served by Carlos and the team, the day will be very memorable for many years. Serving 30 people at one time is not easy, but the Los Dos team made it seem effortless with all of the meals being hot and tasty. The salsa is the best with it's subtle hint of pepper, the margaritas add the right touch to finish the flavor. Thank you all! read more

I'm so glad I decided to dine here on late Friday afternoon, before the dinner crowd arrived. I've been wanting to dine here since they opened. I heard from many that the wait times are long. They've been open a few months now. I was a walk-in and didn't make a reservation. I probably waited about 5 minutes for them to clear a table. I sat next to the dining room area that overlooks Promenade Pkwy. The views are stunning, from what I could see at my table. My waiter was Paul and he was great! Paul had a smile on his face the whole time and just had an overall good attitude. So nice to see someone who enjoys their job and has a good attitude, especially in a restaurant setting. The interior of this restaurant is classy and has a nice warm feel to it. I love the large metal chandeliers in the main dining area. I love how the bar area is decorated as well. It didn't take long to have chips and salsa served to me along with a carafe of water. Salsa seems homemade and is phenomenal! I felt they nailed the salsa. For my entree I ordered the steak fajitas. I was impressed with how quickly my food arrived. Paul told me that the kitchen has a lot of staff that works hard to get food out to patrons quickly. Steak was really good with the fajitas. They give you plenty of it. I especially loved how they provide plenty of onions with it as well. Flour tortillas rocked too! Overall, very impressive here!
