I'm not a fan of Italian restaurants, but this one impressed me. The food was some of the best I've eaten. The ravioli was awesome. It was light but filling. I also had salad and pistachio ice cream which were also very good. The servers were super nice and helpful as I ordered. I opted to sit outside since it was nice and breezy out but had to move inside due to rain. Even the bartender was helpful and engaged me in conversation. We had a burger and a chicken sandwich and some wine, The food was very good and what struck me was how reasonable the wine by the glass choices were. We arrived around 5:30 pm. The restaurant was bright and cheery. A few tables were filled inside and outside. Our waiter, Brian, greeted us, asking if we wanted drinks. We ordered some soft drinks while discussing the menu. I wanted to try the 5 cheese stuffed mushrooms - they were pretty good, with some marinara sauce. We ordered the Cabutto Tenuta La Volta 2017. Brian recommended it since it seemed to be the owner's favorite. It paired well with the Vadouvan Spiced Halibut and Pasta Bolognese - both were delicious. I've been wanting to try Danielle's for a while. I recently decided to eat dinner here on a Saturday evening. The restaurant has a nice welcoming feel as you enter. There is a combination of classy and casual. They have a nice long bar area with plenty of seating. I didn't make a reservation prior to my visit. The hostess who greeted me was friendly and sat me inside next to their outside patio. I enjoyed the view. I didn't care for my waiter that much. He could use work on his professionalism by refraining from calling a patron "buddy" (said in a sort of patronizing way as well) excessively and by being more accommodating. It took him a while to take my order. When he came back to my table to take my order he said something that came across as if I were just hanging out or stopping by to take a survey. I wasn't impressed with his style of communication. I ordered a small house salad, Chicken Parmigiana and a Diet Coke. Food was OK. I thought it was overpriced. My order, with tip, came to a total bill of sale for $42+. I chose to skip dessert and pick up something somewhere else, on the way back home. Overall, I wasn't that impressed with my experience here. I will probably take a pass on returning here. However, glad I checked out Danielle's finally. read more

We randomly stopped in for dinner tonight and it was excellent (luckily we were able to be seated right away without a reservation). It is super cute inside with a great bar and the mixed drink menu is incredible. Christian was our server and was very helpful with gluten free accommodations. We had the shrimp appetizer and I had the Americano Pasta (yes they have gluten free pasta and it tastes homemade!). My husband loved the bolognese. Both dishes had excellent flavor. Went to the restaurant on a Saturday for lunch. Not too busy and was seated immediately. I had ordered the southern fried chicken as it's one of their specialty. It came out pretty quick, had a nice crunch with a smooth tasting gravy. I should had asked for more gravy but overall was great. Would definitely return to try another dish. read more

My wife and I ran into our son and his partner at the Castle Rock Farmer's Market and mooched around together, buying our fresh veggies for the week and chatting with the vendors. We were all pretty hungry by the time we finished shopping, and we asked our Castle Rock resident son for good dog-friendly restaurant suggestions that we hadn't tried yet. After Yelping a few of them, we decided to go to this charming little restaurant and give it a try. Danielle's has a gorgeous interior, and a very expansive outdoor patio that is very welcoming to your canine companions. We ordered adult beverages and two orders of their excellent crab cake appetizers. I don't remember what the kids had for entrees but they enjoyed them. My wife got the chicken parmesan, which she said was excellent, and I got the Southern Fried Chicken, which left a lot to be desired. The chicken itself was quite bland, the green beans were lukewarm, and I had to go inside and ask for salt because the pan-fried potatoes were completely unseasoned. My recommendation to this establishment would be to be a bit more creative with their spices - a little Italian Seasoning or paprika and garlic blend would make the flavors of the chicken stand out, and a dash of salt sprinkled on the potatoes in the pan would be appropriate. Despite my mildly disappointing entree, I very much enjoyed the atmosphere and service here and will happily return and give this establishment a second shot. read more

First time here and with some excitement for this restaurant. I ordered the Wild Salmon Entree and my son ordered the chicken nuggets and fries. We also ordered the stuffed mushroom caps as an appetizer. The food was inedible. The stuffed mushrooms were cold and chewy. Meanwhile, the salmon was lukewarm when it was finally served (over thirty mins after ordering) and so overcooked it tasted like cardboard. The presentation of the dish was sloppy and even included some marinara sauce accidentally (?) splashed onto the side but it was covered by very dry and lukewarm fingerling potatoes. My son's dish was also cold and inedible. The chicken nuggets were surprisingly chewy, dry and spicy. The fries, meanwhile, were soggy and greasy. I would have tried to remedy the situation with the waiter but he rarely came by the table; he did stop by 30 mins after the dishes were served to ask if we needed anything else. I asked for buttered pasta for My son since he could not eat the chicken. It was another 30 mins before the pasta arrived and, you guessed it, cold and lethargic. We asked for dessert just to wrap up. That was also a mistake as the ice cream did not come out for 25 mins and it was soft and already melting by the time it arrived. Finally, I asked for the check which took 15 minutes to arrive. The waiter did not come back for another 15 mins to retrieve the bill and my payment. We were there 2.5 hours, all of which was spent waiting for service, hoping the food would magically taste better and wishing we were someplace else. Stopped at In and Out Burger on the way home just to get my son something reasonably edible. The restaurant, in summary, is over-priced, poorly serviced and very disappointing read more

Our new favorite restaurant in the Castle Rock / Castle Pines area for a nice date night! We came after the Starlighting celebration in Castle Rock with our grown kids and everyone enjoyed it. Comfortable and classy. Delicious meals with homemade pastas, chicken piccata, and chicken parmigiana. Also some more casual options like gourmet burgers and fried chicken. Several beautiful looking seafood dishes were delivered to tables nearby. Everything from the main dishes to the sides and vegetables were well-portioned and fresh. Lovely service as well. I will be coming back with my husband for a nice meal, or coming out with some friends for an evening out, or meeting family. The chairs were very comfortable. Prices were fair, too. This place!!! Oh my gosh... so amazing!! A hidden gem! We went last night with our son and his wife. The service was exceptional, the food was phenomenal! For drinks we had smoked old fashions and a couple glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. Had the baked Brie for our appetizer. Next we had the Romaine Wedge. For our mains, we had Danielle's chicken (omg to die for!), chicken parm, Amatriciana (with gluten free pasta - which was great!), and chicken Gorgonzola. We shared everything and every bite was better than the last!!! Oh - and do not skip dessert! We had the skillet Brownie and crème brûlée (brownie was all of our favorite!) will be back again, and again!!! Such a great place! read more

We've tried Danielle's Scratch Kitchen twice now. I want to give them five stars but their price point versus serving size is what keeps stopping me. Last summer was our first visit. Seven of us all enjoyed our meals. We tried a little bit of everything, had top notch service and talked about the visit for a while. Only one leftover box went home that night. Fast forward to date night with my husband this winter where we ate every single bite wishing we had more. With one pop and one water, our bill was $75 with a reasonable tip. No alcohol, appetizer or dessert. Two pasta entrees. Service was good. Nothing memorable like the first visit, but we weren't left to rot in a corner so I appreciated that fact. Maybe serve some bread to help soak up the delicious sauces? I don't know, but a couple tweaks to add some perceived value and this could be a regular stop. read more

I have eaten lunch at Danielle's several times, and each time I had the same impression -- food good, service good, ambiance nice . . . but I just didn't feel like I got my money's worth out of the meal. I find the place a bit pricy, in other words. I just didn't come away feeling like I got $X worth of food / experience. It's a quality place and I recommend you try it. The decor is attractive and the service is friendly and helpful. I'd like to try Danielle's for dinner sometime to see what those meals are like. Fantastic meal! Loved the ambiance, food and service. We dined in for a late lunch after having our nails done nearby in the same shopping center and enjoyed the burrata and HH drink specials. After 2p there is a $4 discount on apps and drink specials after 3p. Great wine list too! The burrata was by far one of my favorite dishes! A must order! We also enjoyed their salads with salmon. Crisp, fresh and perfectly dressed. The amazing salmon was cooked medium and delicious! We plan to come back to explore more of the menu for a double date. Check out the patio area too! So beautiful!
