Mixed green feta salad, add "steak," $15.50!!!
Stephanie L.

There are limited dining options in Castle Rock outside of typical fast food/chain restaurants and even less options open past 8 pm. I appreciate that the Office is open until 10 pm Sunday-Wednesday and midnight Thursday- Saturday and the many options available on the menu. The kid's menu is hilarious LOL. We ordered online through their website which redirected us to another site. We were able to pay in person and pick up our order with no issues, save the lack of hostess perhaps. I ordered the mixed green feta salad- mixed greens, candied pecans, apples, feta cheese, and red onions with balsamic vinaigrette- and opted to add steak for an additional $5. The website did not ask how I wanted the steak cooked which should have been my first red flag. Instead of steak slices as one expects, I was served a separate container of carne asada akin beef- which would be fine if that was what they advertised. Had I known that I would have ordered the chicken for $4. False advertising aside, the lettuce was crisp and fresh, as were the apples, and the container of dressing was enough for my entire salad. Feta in salad is always a win so I'd order this salad again- just not with "steak." The seasonal chicken Parmesan sandwich was generous in portion and reasonably priced ($10.99). The chicken was not dry and it was slathered in Mariana and cheese. The sweet potato fries were standard sweet potato fries, a bit soggy, but probably from sitting before we picked them up.

Awesome brunch and happy hour! Staff is great and great whiskey selection! The onion rings are the best!

Was feeling tired so didn't want to cook. He suggested this sports bar so we headed down. No parking in lot next to restaurant so we drove around. Came across a car leaving in the street parking spaces across the road so we lucked out. Seated right away even though they were busy but in a corner booth by the kitchen which kinda sucked. But the server Karyn T was friendly and cheerful. For some reason they brought out appetizers out with our meal which wasn't great. We had the bang bang shrimp, half a dozen oysters and the chicken Parmesan sandwich. He was starving and wanted the appetizers first. The busser also tried to take away my oysters because she thought I was done when there clearly was still food on the plate. It was so rushed, the whole experience. I get it was busy that night but we didn't linger. We just wanted to eat without being bothered. The food was meh. Not overly impressed with the bang bang shrimp - too much sauce. His sandwich was palatable. Oysters were good but not great. If we needed a meal I might come back here but I wouldn't come back because it was a fabulous experience. It was very loud and difficult to converse and there was a better table by us which was unoccupied the entire time we were there and yet they placed us in the little corner booth by the kitchen. Karyn was friendly and pleasant and she checked on us enough which was nice and not intrusive.

Great food, good service, excellent drinks and reasonable prices. This place should be in 'best dives" category.

The Burger- Just Okay

I was super excited to try The Office Bar & Kitchen because the menu is pretty expansive and when I saw WINGS, I was like YES AND MORE YES! My husband and I WENT FOR IT and ordered a bunch of stuff to try... Below is what we got and how we felt about each item: - Mixed Green Salad with Avocado + Egg: Super super boring. Not worth it at all but I wanted the salmon.... ---- Added Salmon: awful. It came all mashed up like dog food. Totally over cooked. Gross blackened seasoning. Not good at all. - The Burger: My husband thought it was "okay" but nothing special. - The Potstickers: My husband wolfed these immediately. He really liked them. - Pecan Pie: Nothing to ride home about. Bland. - Bang Bang Shrimp: they were WET... Definitely nothing like Bone Fish Grill's Bang Bang Shrimp - Chicken Wings (8 + 3 for the kids meal) EXTRA CRISPY: pretty dang tasty but I asked for totally naked and I have a suspicion that there was some sort of coating on these. Regardless they were good but my stomach hurt after eating them. After reading our thoughts on what we ordered, it's safe to say... We will not be eating here (or ordering take out from here) again... Nope. Another one bites the dust.

The bolognese was my favorite and I'm really hoping they bring it back because I'm still thinking about it & the only other pasta I dream about was from my trip to Florence. Anyway, I digress... last time I was in, I had a salmon dish that came in a close second. The service was warm and welcoming as was the atmosphere. I love the little booths up top, it gives a great view of the restaurant and the seating is comfortable. I'm not sure if I just get lucky but parking is always super easy. The last several times I've been in. I parked right on the street out front, but there is a lot straight across from the fountain and one across the street the other direction. Ecclesia has over gone a lot of changes since I visited earlier this year, so make sure to be open minded when you visit! First, the book shop *squeel* Adorable! Quaint, cute, decent selection, good children's section and they feature local authors. Support your local bookstores!!! They are wonderful. If you didn't know, this is a mini-food hall of sorts. There are several food vendors: a Bar at the top, a restaurant I've yet to visit alongside it, as well as several spots to eat downstairs. Downstairs they have : - A bagel spot (get there early for the best selection and don't be disappointed if they run out- that's what it means to have fresh baked daily!) - A great BBQ spot (this is coming from a KC native and BBQ critic!) - Apres coffee - a cute coffee shop with alternative milks and Italian sodas options. - A stuffed pita restaurant (I'm sorry I don't know the name!) - Gluttony and Graze, for salads and gourmet hot dogs and burgers - And don't sleep on the cute little kiosk to order Mexican food! I didn't get a chance to check it out, but it's next on my list to try! Though, please note all of these places have different operating hours - though you're mostly safe Wed-Sun. Either call ahead or be open minded when you come in, just in case! Overall, highly recommended. People sleep on it because the outside is unassuming, but you have to try it at least once!

I'll break it down through all phases of our experience. First will be making reservation. Called early this afternoon for a reservation this evening. Promptly greeted on the phone by a very kind lady. Within a quick minute was able to reserve our dinner with much ease Now with the location and ambiance. Very easy to find, and well positioned with a perfect sunset view of the mountains. Well lit environment but yet still very intimate. Next will be greeting, hospitality, and staff service. Within 10 seconds of walking we were greeted as if we were the most important people to visit this evening. That means that we felt very welcomed upon our arrival. The hospitality did not stop there. We were seated and greeted by Marquez. Now this guy was the star of the evening. He knew the menu and wine pairings in great detail. His recommendations of menu items were outstanding. Seriously, you can tell when somebody takes pride in their work. This gentleman carries himself with great pride and genuine care. That level of self respect is reflective in the respect he shows others. Through him alone he can s 10 out of 10 easily. Now, why we all came. For the food. We ordered the pimento dip for an app. The bread was outstanding. The pimento dip was rich and full of flavor. Home run was the warm honey. Never would have thought of the combination of pimento dip and honey spread across toasted bread. YUM! For the main meal I had ordered the French Dip and the wife ordered the salmon. For the French Dip the star was the freshly made French bread. It was perfect for the large amount of thinly sliced prime rib. Speaking of the meat, the Prime Rib was so tender it nearly will melt in your mouth. The Salmon looked to be perfectly cooked. My wife gave that affirmation after her first bite. Then came the dessert. Ice Cream came with hot fudge both delicious. Key Lime pie was also perfect. It came with a really neat French Whipped Cream infused with key lime. AMAZING flavor and light. Overall, excellent experience, delicious meal, and Marquez was fantastic. If you find yourself looking for somewhere to have a celebratory dinner, recommend this place. Thank you so much to all at The Brinkerhoff for a wonderful evening.

It's been our casual and fun go-to spot for a great brunch, lunch, or dinner to enjoy time together or watch a game! We know and enjoy good food and hope it will always be around! The owners are wonderful, and the staff they hire reflect that. Beyond that, what really matters to us, at least, is great food--and Hideaway delivers every time. With the ever-growing Castle Rock food scene, we admit we've strayed from time to time depending on what we're looking for (fine dining, etc.), but we always come back to Hideaway when we want consistently good food, friendly staff, and welcoming owners. We've never had a bad meal. Unfortunately, that's hard to say about other comparable places in the area we have tried (but to each their own). Best onion rings we've tried anywhere (chicken tenders, fish tacos, burgers, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, the Hideaway Signature Pasta--the list goes on), but honestly, everything on the menu we've ordered has been delicious, and every time we go, it takes us a while to decide since everything is so good! Hideaway has become something of a standard we compare to other similar establishments, and we look forward to dining here in the years to come!

There are TVs everywhere, and the sound is loud and even pumped into the bathrooms. That said, it's an odd setup all the way around. We showed up on a Saturday night during the NFL playoffs and found the first-floor bar area to be packed. As others have mentioned, it feels very tight and cramped downstairs. Nobody greeted us, and honestly, we couldn't find anyone who wasn't running around crazy, so after taking a pass around the bar, we took the stairs to the second-floor game room, which was also packed. Nobody to ask there either, so we continued to wander. We found a little side room with four tables and two TVs that was empty. I found someone walking by, asked if the section was open, they said it was, so we sat down. A little while later, a waitress came by to take our orders. We each tried a house lager but decided on a pint each of the Avalanche. Not starving, we ordered the $10 nachos so we'd have something to nibble on while drinking and watching football. Beers came out a little while later, and then we waited. Eventually, a group of four Bears fans came in and sat down at a table near us. A little while they ordered. Not long after that, their food came. They noticed the surprise in that theirs came out before ours did. We mentioned to the server, and he went to go check. Then our waitress (who we didn't see too often) swung by. Then a guy who may have been the manager, swung by. Eventually, our nachos came out. The manager came back by, apologized again, and offered a free dessert to make up for it. I will say, the nachos were really large and quite good. A good deal for $10. Would definitely get them again. We finished our food, the manager came by again, and talked about the dessert options. My wife went with the hot brownie sundae. Looking forward to that, we were then disappointed again when the manager came by a little while later to let us know they were out of both brownies AND vanilla ice cream. How does that happen? He offered an alternate dessert, and after my wife declined, he said he'd take the $10 nachos off the bill. At least that's what she thought he said. When we got the bill, it showed only a $5 credit. Oh well. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it, but again, disappointment. I'm guessing we'll give them another shot at some point, as we did see a few things on the menu that looked good. I heard there's a third floor restaurant that will open at some point. I never found stairs to get up there, but they're around somewhere. It wasn't a particularly relaxing experience, and as of now, it doesn't have that cozy, neighborhood sports bar vibe. We'll see how it gets broken in during years to come.
