The Whiskey Lodge was down the street from where we were staying and we decided one night to take a walk and check things out. It was pretty dead when we went and there was only one other couple so we decided to sit at the bar. The lodge itself is pretty large and has lots of seating. They have a large assortment of whiskeys that you can sample or you can opt for a cocktail. I tried the Peat Sake: Boubon, maple, bitters, scotch mist. It was good and I'd definitely get it again. If you opt for a bourbon, pour just note that the standard size is 2 ounces and not 1 ounce. So if you only want 1 ounce, you have to make that clear because the person that helped us did not and we were a little surprised at the size of the pours. Service was ok. The person who was working was a little snobbish. I don't drink a ton of whiskey and I pronounced the name of something incorrectly and was immediately called out on it which was a little embarrassing. We also asked about hours because we saw two conflicting times and we got our heads bit off because this individual was ready to go home. Maybe he was having a bad night but customer service is the biggest thing that could be improved upon. We'll definitely stop in when we are in the area again.

This was a good outing with a large group. We kind of took over the patio area and had a good time. I got happy hour pricing on the fried pickles (I recommend them, they were sliced like chips and had a little spice to them, old fashioned (strong drink), and Avalanche amber ale on tap. Everything was great and the only thing I'd improve on is some faster service and a couple of the fried pickles were mushy. I wish I tried their Nashville chicken or the rib tips though...maybe next time. The bathroom was clean and I liked the environment overall. Parking seemed limited out front, just something to be aware of.

Wow Guys! What could have been a bad experience was made into a magical experience! To start we were attending a prepaid fare for their Crawfish Boil. It was my first time and my friend's second time. By the get way, all was was very good. Recommendation is to get an early spot because the last reservation, which is what we had, is a little reckless. Now, don't get me wrong. A lot of inexperienced business owners and their staff may have dropped the customer service ball on a night like this, but not Sonia and her team. If you know, you know. Food was great/excellent! We ordered wings, ribblets, spicy shrimp, chicken fried steak, spicy cheese fries, multiple whiskey shots and beer on top of the prepaid ten pounds of crawfish. The only comment was that the ribblets were cold and we were made aware that the crawfish was over sold by 2lbs. We were full and satisfied. Then, we were informed we were sat late, so we were led to move tables because, surprisingly, there was an artist coming in to perform live music. Who doesn't love good live music? Tyler is very talented and performed some of my favorite songs. Cool thing too is he accepts electric tips. I wish more businesses and people did that. We had a party of 10, that's five married couples, and we all agreed we would do this again. It was like homemade VIP access. We were taken care of. We drank, ate and laughed in a high energy, well attended party. A side note: the 2 restrooms are single stalls, well stocked and very clean. To Sonia; thank you for your hospitality and lovely staff that really care about your customers. I'm Looking forward to coming back.

Food was pretty good. The service was lackluster I don't think a lot of people in in that area, are up for being in the service industry.

I'll break it down through all phases of our experience. First will be making reservation. Called early this afternoon for a reservation this evening. Promptly greeted on the phone by a very kind lady. Within a quick minute was able to reserve our dinner with much ease Now with the location and ambiance. Very easy to find, and well positioned with a perfect sunset view of the mountains. Well lit environment but yet still very intimate. Next will be greeting, hospitality, and staff service. Within 10 seconds of walking we were greeted as if we were the most important people to visit this evening. That means that we felt very welcomed upon our arrival. The hospitality did not stop there. We were seated and greeted by Marquez. Now this guy was the star of the evening. He knew the menu and wine pairings in great detail. His recommendations of menu items were outstanding. Seriously, you can tell when somebody takes pride in their work. This gentleman carries himself with great pride and genuine care. That level of self respect is reflective in the respect he shows others. Through him alone he can s 10 out of 10 easily. Now, why we all came. For the food. We ordered the pimento dip for an app. The bread was outstanding. The pimento dip was rich and full of flavor. Home run was the warm honey. Never would have thought of the combination of pimento dip and honey spread across toasted bread. YUM! For the main meal I had ordered the French Dip and the wife ordered the salmon. For the French Dip the star was the freshly made French bread. It was perfect for the large amount of thinly sliced prime rib. Speaking of the meat, the Prime Rib was so tender it nearly will melt in your mouth. The Salmon looked to be perfectly cooked. My wife gave that affirmation after her first bite. Then came the dessert. Ice Cream came with hot fudge both delicious. Key Lime pie was also perfect. It came with a really neat French Whipped Cream infused with key lime. AMAZING flavor and light. Overall, excellent experience, delicious meal, and Marquez was fantastic. If you find yourself looking for somewhere to have a celebratory dinner, recommend this place. Thank you so much to all at The Brinkerhoff for a wonderful evening.

I love the little booths up top, it gives a great view of the restaurant and the seating is comfortable. I'm not sure if I just get lucky but parking is always super easy. The last several times I've been in. I parked right on the street out front, but there is a lot straight across from the fountain and one across the street the other direction. I thought the prime rib was small, meh, and the sauce was weird. It wasn't typical Au Jus sauce; it was like a creamy brown sauce that I wasn't a fan of. The fries were almost like big steak fries; I liked them. My friend was the opposite; he liked his fried chicken sandwich but he didn't like his fries. Overall OK

Ecclesia has over gone a lot of changes since I visited earlier this year, so make sure to be open minded when you visit! First, the book shop *squeel* Adorable! Quaint, cute, decent selection, good children's section and they feature local authors. Support your local bookstores!!! They are wonderful. If you didn't know, this is a mini-food hall of sorts. There are several food vendors: a Bar at the top, a restaurant I've yet to visit alongside it, as well as several spots to eat downstairs. Downstairs they have : - A bagel spot (get there early for the best selection and don't be disappointed if they run out- that's what it means to have fresh baked daily!) - A great BBQ spot (this is coming from a KC native and BBQ critic!) - Apres coffee - a cute coffee shop with alternative milks and Italian sodas options. - A stuffed pita restaurant (I'm sorry I don't know the name!) - Gluttony and Graze, for salads and gourmet hot dogs and burgers - And don't sleep on the cute little kiosk to order Mexican food! I didn't get a chance to check it out, but it's next on my list to try! Though, please note all of these places have different operating hours - though you're mostly safe Wed-Sun. Either call ahead or be open minded when you come in, just in case! Overall, highly recommended. People sleep on it because the outside is unassuming, but you have to try it at least once!

It's been our casual and fun go-to spot for a great brunch, lunch, or dinner to enjoy time together or watch a game! We know and enjoy good food and hope it will always be around! The owners are wonderful, and the staff they hire reflect that. Beyond that, what really matters to us, at least, is great food--and Hideaway delivers every time. With the ever-growing Castle Rock food scene, we admit we've strayed from time to time depending on what we're looking for (fine dining, etc.), but we always come back to Hideaway when we want consistently good food, friendly staff, and welcoming owners. We've never had a bad meal. Unfortunately, that's hard to say about other comparable places in the area we have tried (but to each their own). Best onion rings we've tried anywhere (chicken tenders, fish tacos, burgers, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, the Hideaway Signature Pasta--the list goes on), but honestly, everything on the menu we've ordered has been delicious, and every time we go, it takes us a while to decide since everything is so good! Hideaway has become something of a standard we compare to other similar establishments, and we look forward to dining here in the years to come!
