Conveniently located in Castle Pines being sandwiched between Castle Rock and Lone Tree, I discovered this place in my Internet search for a great Indian restaurant on the way as I was hungry for dinner. its 4.5 star rating looked promising. I almost placed my food order on their website. The only reason I didn't do so was because I wasn't sure if main dishes (like curry) came with naan or rice (nowhere on their website say anything about it); it was best to just show up and order upon arrival. This restaurant is in a very quiet surrounding. To its left is a dry cleaner. There were only several cars parked right in front of it. There wasn't much of a warm welcome by its employees; they weren't necessarily rude or blunt in any way. Service was pretty basic. This was OK as long as the food would be good. My expectation was climbing up the ladder at that point. They didn't look busy inside. There was only one table occupied by diners. They didn't appear to be busy with to-go orders either. The young guy at the ordering counter said main dishes (like curry) came with rice but naan. I went with the lamb curry and side naan. Items in the appetizer and dessert sections looked very appealing but since it was just for me, two items would be plenty. The store inside has got good amount of Indian theme throughout but overall, it's very simple. Dining tables and chairs were neatly placed with equal amount of space between each one. I checked the ladies' room and it was very clean. I waited good 15-20 minutes before my food came out of the kitchen. I wasn't in a hurry; I was just hungry (lol)!! As soon as I got home, I started my dinner. The naan looked a bit dry. It was good but seemed a bit ordinary and small. Maybe it's best to eat when it's freshly made?? But the curry was pretty impressive. A good amount of lamb meat was in it; the rice that came with it had a good volume. Not a bad place, I thought. It's a nice place to know if I'll be in the neighborhood with a strong craving for a good Indian food next time. I'll go back here if I see fit.

Life is uncertain and not every day is good. But always toast for the good in your day.

What do you learn from cows, buffalos and elephants? You cannot reduce weight by eating grass and walking. It's impossible. So might as well splurge and enjoy the good food out there. So happy Tandoori Flames is my hidden neighborhood gem and one of the best ethnic restaurants in Castle Pines. Tucked in the smaller strip mall coincidentally next to my favorite nail shop, you will find Ruby slaving ingredients from scratch over a hot stove serving some of the best Indian food I have had in awhile. Authentic, fresh and so worth the drive here. But most of all, you'll come to chat up with Ruby. She's darling, one of a kind and certainly one of the most friendly welcoming owners and restaurateurs. Start with the garlic naan and cheese naan. Yummy for the tummy. And perfect for dipping in the chicken tikka masala sauce. Perfection honestly. Hands down, I am a big fan of the sizzling kabob dinner platters. So tender and flavorful, generous in size I would recommend the Seekh kabob. Naturally I couldn't wait to finish my meal so I could have the masala chai tea and kheer dessert. Ooeemmggee I went to heaven. The honey and sugar in the kheer is not too sweet, just the right balance of delishness only a fantastic cook like Ruby can capture. This chai is how every tea should be made. The delicate marrying of ginger, cinnamon and cardamom achieved truly a cup of happiness. We did also get to try local Indian beer and my favorite was the Bira comparable to a Hefeweizen. The Old Monk 10000 Super Beer pours a golden light but has sweetness of more a malt beer. Tandoori Flames has been on my list but not everyone is adventurous and a fan of Indian food like I am. Thank goodness this cute guy I snagged loves Indian food. Walking in, it's like being invited into Ruby's home for an intimate get together. So if you are craving homemade Indian food or need a pick me upper after a rough day, come sit and eat Ruby's cooking. Your energy and vibe will change entirely walking in here.

It's definitely giving date night energy: low lighting, candlelit tables, and a cozy-but-busy atmosphere. Every time I've gone it's been pretty packed, but I've never had trouble snagging a seat (and I never make reservations). Honestly, it's become my go-to for a solo night--cocktail in hand, spicy book in the other. My routine? Friday nights. I settle in with my book, order the Thai calamari (which has the perfect punch of flavor), and wait for the 9pm special--$0.99 oysters until close on Fridays and Saturdays. Such a steal. The servers are always great, but Chris really stands out--attentive, kind, and totally gets the vibe of letting me relax and enjoy my drink and my book. I also came during Denver Restaurant Week and did their 3-course menu: calamari (obviously), the sea bass (which surprised me in the best way), and the blood orange olive oil cake... WOW. Light, citrusy, and perfectly balanced--not too sweet, just right. Most recently, I brought my boyfriend and we finally explored more of their oyster selection. Our server guided us based on our flavor preferences, and we loved a few so much we had to order another dozen. This spot is a gem--whether it's a solo unwind night or a cute date. I try to come at least once a month, and it never disappoints.

I was distracted by the person behind glass making the wonderful fresh tortillas. As homebrewers, my husband and I were interested in what their brew set up looked like. The chips were warm and the salsa was fresh with a nice kick. He got a taco plate with ground beef tacos, rice and beans. He paired that with the LDP IPA. He enjoyed his meal. I love Chile Rellenos, so that is what I chose for my lunch. It came smothered with their green chili and with some of those wonderful warm tortillas on the side. I paired mine with their Aqua Fresca, a slightly altered base of their Mexican Lager with the addition of Prickly Pear purée and Key Lime. It was refreshing and tasted like summer. To start, it took over 30 minutes just for our order to be taken, and then another 30+ minutes for the food to come out. We were there for about 2 hours total when this should've been a maybe hour-long visit. When the food finally came, only half of it was brought out. The rest took another 15+ minutes, so most of us finished eating before the others even got their meals. We were starving after playing pickleball, so that was frustrating. On top of that, we could literally see our food sitting there for a while before it was finally brought out. Another issue was the menu being misleading. The vegan burger is advertised as an Impossible Burger, but it was very clearly a Beyond Burger... which is a big difference if you're vegan. When we brought it up, the server tried to correct us and even showed us a picture of the patties, which honestly just confirmed our concern instead of resolving it. To make it worse, the vegan burger was supposed to come with vegan mayo and tomatoes, but didn't have either. When we asked, we were told they had run out. It would've been nice to know that ahead of time instead of finding out after the food was already served. Also... the men's bathroom was out of soap, which is just not a great look. It makes you question cleanliness overall. It honestly seemed like they were understaffed, and if that's the case, there really should've been a manager stepping in to support the staff and help smooth things over for customers... especially considering the location. I'll end on a positive note... the Oklahoma Onion burger was actually really good (not the vegan one lol) I coud've eaten 2!
