    Veggie lo mein

Always fast, always consistent. I have no complaints. My lo mein is always fresh and hot. We always ask for the chicken wings to be fried hard and they fried perfect.. I've yet to have a bad meal here..

I've been here several times and always had a good experience. Service is usually solid, the food is always delicious, and you can get some more unusual dishes compared to your average American-Chinese place. I recommend trying something new, although their standard dishes are good too. Inside it's a full service restaurant, not a fast food or fast casual joint, and the staff is helpful with any questions.

Maybe I ordered the wrong things but the Mongolian beef was overly sweet and the egg rolls were mid at best. The egg drop soup was oily tasting and had no other flavor. The chicken wings were decent but I wouldn't order again from here.

Okey dokie, I've been looking for a Chinese restaurant forever because my mom really likes egg foo young and so many places don't have it. I took a girlfriend of mine here for her birthday. It was our first time. I tried to come on Christmas Day for dinner but the line was out the door. I visited it this restaurant about 1:15 in the afternoon and it had very few people seated which was good. Just a reminder their lunch specials end at 2:30. Your lunch menu doesn't have any appetizers but they were kind enough to let me order appetizers from the dinner menu. I ordered a side of egg rolls and chicken wings but then continue the rest of my meal off the lunch menu. The prices were a few dollars cheaper than the dinner. I ordered for the first time in years shrimp egg foo young ,I loved it. It comes in 2 patties covered in gravy with a side of rice. I asked LeLe our server not to add MSG in my food. She said it's in the sauces and they could accommodate me. I was very happy. It was quite delicious. I have to say I enjoyed this shrimp egg foo young it was crunchy and moist and not at all too salty. The gravy was perfect. It was a lot of food especially after having wings and egg rolls. The egg rolls were huge mainly filled with cabbage or lettuce with a sporadic amount of meat. I just sliced them open and basically pulled out all the innards and had my mini salad. My birthday girlfriend had the chicken fried rice. She enjoyed it. The lunch plate was quite robust. All in all, I definitely will be back here with my mom so she can get some really good egg foo young but not on a holiday cuz this place will be packed.LOL

    General TSO's Chicken

Very yummy American Chinese food. The general tso chicken was expectedly tender, crispy, flavorful, sweet and tangy, and the veggies have a great crunch to it. Perfect. Will def be back. Lunch special runs till 2:30 on week days.

Me and my friend went to this location because it was closer to her. I'm used to going to the Marietta location on Canton Road. So they're doing some type of construction outside and we walk in and I'll be honest with you the floor feels like it's about the gear of weight or I'm a walk through the floor. I don't know whatever water problems going on outside messed up the floor or concrete underneath but you feel like you bout to walk through that floor like if you know holes in the floor . So we sat down and looking at the menu. I asked questions to the waiter because I'm noticing it's a difference. What I mean by is come to find out I'm thinking both can't cook. Are one in the same run by the same person they're not the one in Sandy Springs is run by a relative they do what they do. They run how they run it the one In Marietta runs their is how they run their. So I'm thinking it's three something I can still get the lunch combination because I've had weight loss surgery so I'm not gonna eat a lot but their lunch stop at 2:30. Where the location In Marietta lunch special stop at 4 o'clock. So OK we pivot and we get the two for 50 it's a smaller menu than what is at the Marietta location because I did a Yep review in Google review for that location. I loved it so I got the general Tao's chicken and she got the Mongolian beef. Both got the egg drop soup, It comes with two chicken wings and an egg roll. The egg drop soup comes out and both of the spoons are dirty or they just look dingy and old, but I'm also assuming that she used the spoon she gave us to eat the soup with spoon it out. Idk so I asked for some spoons and hot water because the silverware did not look clean. Me and my guest was already kind of over the experience because the ambience is not it. It needs to be remodeled the floor needs to be tore up and redone so you don't feel like you're gonna fall through the floor. Let's get to the food the egg drop soup was good. I added a little pepper and then I took the rest to go. Our food came out and a pair of people but it's the same name so the chicken at Marietta location was great reminding me of that New York style chicken where theirs was a little off you could tell that ass something else to it to make it their own type of flavor, but also just the look of the chicken. It seems like a bare of chicken wing . General. Tao's chicken was that absolutely delicious and the Mongolian beef was OK . But I'll be honest with you. Something was going on because Lily had to go to the bathroom as soon as I got the Whole Foods they gave me the bubble gut. But the food tasted good it just everything else the customer service the ambience is not it. So that's why they got two stars. The unfreeze was good. The soup was OK dirty silverware for the soup that needs to be replaced on the way out in thought he was gonna walk through the floor and it was crazy because when we got upset, we both seen each other. they need to fix that floor safety hazard. Hey try that for yourself and let me know what you think.? because when it comes to restaurant, you can have good food or OK food but the customer service and the ambience needs to be on point as well

Good bye Canton Cooks forever! RIP this Sandy Springs chinese restaurant institution. I've been coming here for more than 20 years and the new owners have made the portions smaller and raised the price of the f. food outrageously ! I ordered Kung Pao chicken which should be renamed just Kung Pao here because it had almost no chicken in it and the chicken that was in it was very poor quality dark meat another change from the past. In addition they tried to charge me one dollar more for the peanuts because they said "everything's more expensive." I explained to them that what's more expensive is getting a new customer after losing one for over 20 years because I will never come back here. How do you charge extra for peanuts on a dish that always has peanuts in it ? The new owners are too young to be courteous and are rude. Good bye Canton Cooks forever!

After living for 12 years in China, my standard for Chinese food has gone up and is impossibly high now. I'll admit this restaurant is definitely more American-Chinese cuisine, but my preferences still apply. So take this as a disclaimer. I saw a lot of multigenerational Asian families in the restaurant, so I assumed it wouldn't be awful. My friend who grew up near Marietta told me this was his favorite place. We went to the Roswell location since it's more central between where all our friends live. He was determined to hear my opinion. Let me say that the food wasn't bad. But it wasn't good. It was just "okay". The portions are obviously huge. I got the pan fried beef chow fun and the mapo tofu. I also tried the wonton soup my friend got as a side for their combo meal. I had hoped the leftovers would taste fine, but the noodles turned a weird consistency. The mapo tofu may have been better than the noodles. I'd rank the wonton soup #3 of what I tried. The beef in the chow fun was way too chewy. But overall, the environment of a traditional American Chinese restaurant can't be matched. It doesn't have to have new furnishings, just people who love Chinese food around a table.

The Canton House on Buford Highway is my family's go-to for authentic Cantonese dim sum in Atlanta…read more The food is always up to expectations each and every visit. Having been at least once every couple months for years, it's our Chinese comfort food as dim sum is meant to be. Although I would recommend arriving at anytime they are open, we find the absolute best time for dim sum is to arrive right at opening on Saturday or Sunday. This time lets us beat the wait, get a great table fast, and the food is super plentiful, hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The chrysanthemum tea is a must have and complements the food as a perfect, tasty, and just sweet enough palate cleanser (although I would prefer to add the rock sugar myself to my tea, they serve it with sugar already inside the pot). For the absolute best pairing with your chrysanthemum tea, make sure to save room for the awesome pineapple buns while supplies last. They were out today and we all collectively cried (will be going back just for the pineapple buns soon...we are just not complete without them!). We love all the dishes, but our absolute favorites (outside of the pineapple buns) are the pork spare ribs with black bean, the beef rice rolls/noodles, shrimp dumplings, and turnip cakes. Add some spicy sauce to the spare ribs and turnip cakes to really set them off! For iced coffee lovers who like it really strong, don't pass up on the iced coffee. It has legs that are strong enough to walk, but completely complements the dim sum with a little extra boost to help you enjoy the day. So, I challenge others to find a better dim sum place in Atlanta. That is why Canton House earns my 5th star and looking forward to getting my pineapple buns (really) soon!

We started with the flower tea, amazing choice! Sweet and warming, nicely aromatic. Perfect start. Then the dim sum carts rolled in and we chowed down. DISHES I ORDERED - Siu Mai: Not the best I've had. Quite oily on the outside, but the flavor isn't bad. It does...taste like siu mai. It's just nothing spectacular - Chinese Broccoli: A classic! Very good - Beef Chow Fun: A very chewy and bouncy home made flat noodle dish. Savory, salty, and flavorful! Good amount of tender beef too. - Shrimp Balls: Crispy and fried on the outside, yummy, with good big shrimp ball. Yummy classic sweet and sour sauce too. Delicious - Egg Rolls: Good, not too oily, a normal egg roll - Spare ribs: Possibly my favorite dish! Tender, not too chewy, good savory sweet flavor. -- Overall, it's not bad but it's nothing to write home about. My favorite item was probably the spare ribs. The rest were standard in my opinion. However, service is fast since it is dimsum, so perfect to eat when hungry! Also great ambiance for big group parties or hangouts!

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

Amazing food, excellent service, and amazing food; it warranted repeating. I just moved back in to town and was excited to have my favorite Cantonese food in Atlanta but honestly, after our meal today, I don't know that I'll be back and I certainly won't be bringing any more of my friends. Service: Everyone was still really kind. But the food came out slowly for how dead they were. We were halfway there of our dishes when I mentioned to the waiter that two more dishes were missing. He spoke with the waiter who took our order and they said they were coming. A half hour later and the dishes still hadn't arrived. I asked again and they apologize profusely and said it would be out shortly. Unfortunately, that's where the niceties ended... Food: Overall, the food was really bad. The best thing about Cantonese food is how complex the flavors are and when there is a good chef, it is my favorite cuisine in the world. That is what BBQ Corner has been in the past...but not anymore. All of the dishes, especially dishes with sauce, were overly sweet and very one note. The eggplant with garlic came with a bright red sauce that had no garlic in it. When I mentioned to the waiter that it was the wrong sauce, she said "No, that is spicy garlic sauce." I have had that dish at this restaurant at least five times and more than 20 times elsewhere. It was the wrong sauce and the sauce wasn't good. She and another waiter spoke to the kitchen and later apologized. Assessment: I think ownership changed and they took their cooks with them. Instead of the lite, complex flavors of Cantonese food of which they were once masters, this meal felt like mediocre Chinese takeout. While the waitstaff is lovely and mistakes happen (I still tipped 30% because it was Christmas), the food just wasn't good enough to warrant a return trip. I'm sad because this place used to be my favorite...one summer a friend and I ate there three times in one week. But things have changed and definitely not for the better.
