L5. Mongolian Beef egg N3. Fried Rice

Mongolian beef was a bit sweet. The fried rice really tasted like normal rice. I'm from the Midwest where our fried rice is darker and full of flavor so if that's what you are used to you won't like this. Portion size was good though.

12/28/2022 (geez...almost a year before posting 11/30/2023) Afternoon. Nice ambiance Fragrant delicious smell from kitchen Tried 2 dishes Lettuce wraps with chicken..omg flavorful. Savor every bite. Lettuce crisp and fresh. Beef with Cilantro Soup. Large bowl! My main course. Couldn't eat all of it. Definitely could be shareable with another person. Green tea. Loved the idea of having a pot and pour as you need. $2.50. Worth it! Spent under $22 for my meal. Young lady/hostess was nice. Periodic check-in. Didn't rush you. Patient with whatever question I had. I'll definitely add this to my rotation of restaurants when in the area. 11/30/2023....they should know me by now! I'm in there at least once a month. I'll actually plan on going tomorrow, 12/1/2023. Food is sooo good here...always hot! Many dishes to try.

Food was fresh and the dinner is large with a small side of fried rice with included $16 price. Quantity and price match.

Just enjoyed takeout from Sho Spicy again! Delicious as always . . . Fresh, tasty, well-seasoned, and well-prepared. Sho Spicy never disappoints. They honor your requests, making sure you get the full-on Szechuan heat or the less-than-melting palate mild seasoning. If you like to get your spicy heat on, or if you like your Chinese take-out on the mild size, you'll definitely enjoy this delicious food.

Sho Spicy is my go-to restaurant for Chinese takeout. The food is always fresh and the portions last me about 3 meals. My favorite thing on the menu is the Kung Pao Chicken. It comes with a side of white rice (you can upgrade for fried rice - but in my opinion it isn't worth it. Their fried rice is very lackluster. There are minimal veggies & egg...not worth the extra charge). As an app, I love the Veggie Spring Rolls - so crispy and delish! While I've only eaten inside the restaurant once, it was a great experience! It was very quiet - my group was one of the only tables, as it was a weeknight. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly!

Got takeout: (1) double cooked pork and (2) spicy dry fried eggplant. Rounded out to about $33 without tip. Both came with white rice. (1) double cooked pork: okay but very fatty and oily. Cooked with thick green onion slices or maybe it's a different type of vegetable. Idk it's almost a little too decadent. (2) dry fried eggplant: sautéed with herb stems and peppers. Pretty good, the pieces are thick with the crust sort of crunchy while the inside is very soft. Spice level was around mild/medium but if you're sensitive to spice, I wouldn't recommend this dish. Portions are very large, each order could last for 2-3 meals. Service: super nice and polite, they had my order ready in less than 10 minutes. Overall: I would recommend this place for a casual lunch spot to try (seems to have lunch specials for $9.95)

So I seen some reviews that said that this was one of the best Chinese food restaurants in the area. I haven't had the Best luck with Chinese food down here, I've had some really good Chinese food, but I am looking for great I guess. So I know this is going to sound weird but the bag had a lot of heft to it. The bag was actually pretty heavy so it made me realize the fact that they didn't feel like they were skimping on the food. You know some places you'll go get some food and it'll be really light as if they only tried to give you half the amount or stuff most of it with air? No, this bag has some heft and I can appreciate that. The place is really nice and clean and very decorated. They had tables and there were plenty of tables to say that soul sound like his a carryout only kind of spot. It's also not like it's cramped or anything like that so I thought that was good. The way it looks I probably would not mind actually sitting down for a meal. As soon as I walked in they were super nice and friendly. My order was already waiting there when I got there. I don't know how long it been sitting there but I feel like they could have left it in a warm container before they just left it out on the table letting it get cold. But it's not the end of the world. Either way it goes, the guy who greeted me was super nice and very quick about it. I tried this establishment and I was not disappointed. I got some chicken wings, egg drop soup, spring rolls, and the sesame chicken. The rolls were decent, hot and fresh even after the car ride home the soup was decent as well. The chicken wings came in a foil lined bag in order to keep them hot while you are doing carryout. It's similar to what Popeyes did with their chicken sandwich to make sure that you still can get a hot sandwich even after you leave the restaurant. So I actually appreciate it that! Your chicken was super hot and golden brown and had a pretty good flavor to it. A lot of crunch on it as well. The sesame chicken was good as well. The sesame chicken and the fried rice also had a lot of flavor and they did not skimp on the sauce. And a chicken had a superior amount of heat to it. A lot of times you'll get chicken with sauce on it that tastes more sweet even though they denote on the menu that it's supposed to be spicy. No, this time they actually got it right with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. They even shopped up the little peppers to go in there just to help it along. And believe me, you know when you buy to know one of those! I would 100% go back.

When I walked in the restaurant, I definitely thought the food would be overpriced because of how gorgeous the interior looked, but the menu surprised me. The food is in fact quite reasonable. It was a cold afternoon so we ordered a tea pot of hot jasmine tea that cost about $5.95 For appetizer we ordered some crab rangoon (the shell was quite crispy but I was not a huge fan of the filling), we got the chicken coconut soup which was so amazing (the flavor of the cilantro mixed with the shrimp and the coconut was mouthwatering), the last thing we got for the appetizer was the numbing beef rolls- they were served cold as its supposed to be and we loved them. For entrees- we ordered the fried rice, spicy garlic eggplant and hot n numbing chicken (for me- it was alright because everything had a sweet taste to it) but I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you don't like very hot food. The staff here are very welcoming and sweet so that's always a plus. It's a great date night place because of how pretty it looks. Don't worry about parking at all because there's always plenty of parking available right in front of the restaurant.

Love ordering food from this restaurant. There's almost no delivery fee if you call them directly. Also, good for dine-in. However, the prices of dishes are not cheap & can be pricey. They have quite a variety dishes from non spicy to very spicy with lots of red numbing peppers. Even though some dishes have lots of red peppers, the actual dish itself is not that spicy. They were added for flavoring. Some recommended dishes are below: Deep Fried Eggplant Green Curry Chicken 3 Mushrooms Chicken Pickled Cabbage Fish Soup Cumin Lamb Braised Fish in Chilli Oil Mixed Seafood in Clay Pot

Came here for their lunch specials ($8.95 and up) on a weekday 6 weeks ago, and we were the only customers dining in at 11:40 am. Sho Spicy is located in south end of the Fountain Oaks Shopping Center, and could easily be missed due to the many neighboring small businesses. Parking is easy to find in the large, shared free parking lot. As soon as we entered the main dining area, we were immediately welcomed by an employee who seated us quickly. The inside of the restaurant looks great and practically new, with lots of comfortable looking booths and nice wooden chairs and tables. During the time we were in the restaurant, around 4 take out orders were picked up at the cash register. I ordered the Kung Pho chicken lunch special, and R ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch special. We didn't have to wait very long for our meals, probably 10 minutes at the most. I was disappointed in the spice level of the Kung Pho dish. The menu indicated that the spiciness was rated as two chili peppers, but I would personally rate this as one chili pepper. It was confusing to me that there were so many inedible red chili pepper skins in the entree but the spiciness just was lacking. R said that his Mongolian Beef sauce was too sweet. The amount of food provided was good, especially at the reasonable lunch special prices. The service level was good, and our server came by to check on us many times to see if we needed anything and to refill our water glasses. There are a lot more entrees, including vegetarian, to check out on their varied menu.

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in Chinatown Market and not sure what to pick, Chong Qing Hot Pot is a solid choice. 4/5 stars for me!

Teriyaki chicken was no better than your average mall food court, and the steamed dumplins were just straight up bland. We can't really conclude that they were just having an off day given that all four items we ordered were some of the worst versions of those things. And for $80? Granted, we have plenty of leftovers, but you always do when you order Chinese. This place is absolutely not worth it. Will not return.
