Steamed Buns (Pork & Green Bean) (recommend ) Fully handmade , you can tell from the uneven shapes and natural creases. The dough is slightly sweet, soft, and airy, and the filling is very home-style. The juices soak into the bun... super comforting. Sweet & Sour Pork (recommend ) Pork loin coated in cornstarch, deep fried, then glazed in sweet & sour sauce. Golden, crispy on the outside , a perfect appetizer to start the meal. Braised Beef with Potatoes A classic Northern Chinese dish I didn't expect to see on the menu.The beef was tender and soaked in flavor , very much a home-cooked style dish. Double Pepper Chicken Noodles The menu said rice noodles, but it came out a bit different than expected. However, the regular noodles were still delicious, thick, chewy, and great texture. I really wish I had a chance to try more of the stuff on the menu. Oh well, I guess a repeat visit is required. :-) Alright, so... Little Lantern is pretty new and has a lot of service related issues to work through like taking orders correctly, getting the food to the right person, getting the food out, etc. They were struggling a bit but it was a little bit expected. I'm sure they'll smooth out though. It's really modern and bright inside and ACTUALLY comfortable. Not bench seats made of wood in a 90 degree angle with no padding. They have outdoor seating as well. I tried the double peppers chicken noodle -- something I haven't seen before. It was good flavor with a light heat to it. The noodles had good, chewy consistency. I had the pork and scallion dumplings as well. That was even better, to be honest. Good to see more diversity out this way! read more

New dumpling shop outside Atlanta As usual, I was searching online for a new dumpling spot to try and this new restaurant popped up. I'm running out of options, as I've tried EVERY place is GA at this point. What makes this business special? There are quite a few items that stand out on their menu in Chinese, but I specifically visited to try their Chicken & Corn jaozi. This is one of my favorite combinations to make at home, but have yet to see on a restaurant menu. The owner hails from Shenyang, capital city of Liaoning Province in Northeast China where Donbei style cuisine is prevalent. They also have high quality jasmine and oolong teas, which makes them a one-stop-shop for me. Should you visit here? Yes, I recommend trying ALL of the Chinese dumplings in Metro Atlanta before deciding your favorite. What are the chef recommended dishes? Dongbei style cuisine is skewer forward, but the dumplings and noodles are what they are known for. Food Quality The flavors here are perfectly balanced and you can really taste the ingredients. Some popular dumpling shops overseason their fillings, here you can taste the natural ingredients and use sauces to make more spicy or salty as you like. Price Compared to other restaurants with similar cuisine, the prices are much lower on specifically the appetizers here. Atmosphere Gorgeously minimal and open design, featuring a clean white dining area with tons of natural light. The outdoor patio is also great. Service The server is extremely knowledgeable about the menu and has tried every dish, so they can give recommendations and adjust spice level. What I ordered: I was solo dining during this visit, so I ordered as much as I could try, focusing on a balanced meal : 1 鸡肉玉米饺子 Chicken & Corn Dumplings Perfection, I could eat these every day. The sweet corn paired with the meaty chicken is pure comfort food. 2 红烧牛肉面 Taiwanese Style Braised Beef Noodles This is a rich brothy noodle dish that should be eaten immediately before the noodles absorb the soup. The beef is tender and bursting with anise flavor. As somone that visits Taiwan every year, this bowl brings me back without the 14 hour flight. 3 锅包肉 Guo Bao Rou - This is the first time I've seen this sweet and sour pork dish available in 2 flavor options; pinapple or tomato. So, I just had to try the tomato for the rich red color. 4 前女友柠檬茶 Lemon Jasmine Green Tea This is the best bubble tea in the area, and I've driven around and tried them all in the Roswell, Alpharetta, and John's Creek area. Order half sweet. 5 凉拌土豆丝 Cold Shredded Potato This is one of my must-try dishes whenever I see it on the menu. This version has hearty spices, yet still not too overwhelming. Braised beef noodles had too much anise (licorice flavor) for my palate, but it's a flavor some people like, so the menu should mention that. I had it mild, and their definition of "mild" is pretty spicy. Beef chunks were big and tender so a different dish might be better. Noodles were good, but not exceptional. My wife's chicken lo mein was better, had a hint of sweetness, but she'd prefer more veggies. Pan fried pork dumplings were excellent, but 20 minute wait, so be prepared. Service was friendly but considering they were mostly empty, there was no excuse we had to wait so long for drink refills. Ultra modern white interior is classy but sterile and we sat on their small and shaded patio. The cheap chairs at those tables are incredibly uncomfortable. read more

We tried the little lantern dumplings and noodles on Woodstock Road in Roswell. We tried two types of dumplings and they both tasted very good. One of the dumplings was the pork and scallion and we ordered them fried. The other was the chicken and corn and ordered them steamed. One thing to know is that the restaurant is doing a soft open therefore not all of the menu items are currently available. A server came out from the kitchen to explain which menu items were available and showed us how to order on the menu screen. The restaurant has an outdoor patio as well as as many tables and chairs inside. We would definitely consider returning to try more of the menu items a little later in the month of March. Honestly, this is the best Chinese I have had in forever. We got a few things and glad we did. Got the pan fried shrimp and egg dumplings and those things are amazing. Very light, yet so flavorful in taste plus they do a damn good job on the crispy skirt on these. We also got the beef and onion steamed dumplings and those are amazing too. The beef works so well in these, like the flavor is so nice and not what I expected. I got the mapo tofu and it's super nice. Not super spicy but the numbing pepper is really good on it and it's one of the best versions I have had in Georgia. Finally my wife and kid for the beef lo mein and my god for the price it can't be beat. 10/10 on everything. I'm just mad we live in Canton and not Roswell so I can't have it more often. Service is good, the lady at the counter is so nice. You order from a kiosk or can call in like we did. And paying is simple too. It's wide open seating and is very clean. read more

Great new place serving authentic handmade noodles and dumplings. Beef noodle soup was delicious with tender Beef Brisket Chunks. The Pork, Chinese and Shrimp Dumplings were fantastic! Though they have Bubble and Milk teas, their menu is a bit limited but good for what they do have. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Loved it! This little place is really pretty on the inside and has a few tables on the patio. There's counter service for a quick to go order or table service. We tried the spring rolls with chicken that were piping hot and crispy. Followed that with Beef n Broccoli and Chicken fried rice. Both were excellent but beef n broccoli was a stand out. Beef was very juicy and tender and the sauce delicious. And the portions were very generous, enough for 2 more meals. We'll be back! read more

I just finished having lunch here with my family. It was an amazing experience. We all ordered a difference entree. Admittedly, my wife got the best thing-beef and broccoli. It was phenomenal. In fact, I plan on being back here on Wednesday for lunch. The spice is the perfect combination of heat and flavor. The dining area is almost too clean The whole place is white and the decor is absolutely beautiful. I cannot recommend the little lantern more. It's located at 500 Woodstock highway While we were dining in 7 people came it to get take out. They had it ready in the back and brought it out in pretty blue carrying bags. I heard that 3 of them were beef and broccoli. I felt a tinge of jealousy. I may come back tonight to get a non paper bag containing beef and broccoli! read more

I came here on the soft opening night and tried the pan fried dumplings & braised beef/potato dish. It was so good! The beef was the most tender pot roast like texture w a great rich brown sauce. Dumplings were a long shape and crispy and delicious. Today I tried the grape jasmine tea which was so very delicious & the beef Lomein. I'm thrilled to have an authentic Chinese place so close!! This place is a hidden gem! Upon walking up we were greeted with such a warm welcome and one of the associates ran over to open the door for us. We ordered the spring rolls, kung pao chicken, fried chicken and shrimp dumplings, and edamame. Everything was mouth-watering delicious! Prices were also very reasonable. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a subtle yet homey scent of fresh, organic vegetables and delicious, sizzling meat. The workers were so gentle, only adding to the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. The inside was modern, yet authentic ; as if minimalist met honest hearts. I ordered to drink a jasmine- grape boba tea with crystal tapioca. Not only was it sweet, but it felt as if you were one with the jasmine flavors. The sweet was authentic, but at the same time tart, just how I like my tea. For appetizers, I ordered vegetable spring rolls, in which my mouth was delighted with a taste of juicy, fresh vegetables, which is a must-have for any dish! Me and my friend, K, both ordered beef and scallion dumpling; hers steamed, mine pan-fried. The steamed ones were warm, and hot at first, but I'd prefer hot, fresh food to cold. The chewy outer layer was pleasant, like a warm blanket for your tongue, and the meat was juicy and chewy (but not so chewy it ruins the texture.) The scallions, meat, chives, and green onions would rub off on the dough, proof of fresh ingredients. The fried had a light but crisp layer before the amazing meat. It felt as if I had leaping through a field with no cares in the world. And the sauces! The soy sauce was enjoyable even for someone who usually does not prefer soy sauce, but no doubt my favorite was The sweet and spicy sauce, not spicy enough to hurt, but enough for the flavor to dance on your tongue.. This place was very sensory-friendly. The workers served with genuine love for this place, the chairs were surprisingly comfy, the textures of the food was enjoyable and never ruined by anything, and the lighting was calming, but not enough for it to be classified as dark, and the sun (which usually shines in my eyes) was even affected by the calm atmosphere. 5 stars, no doubt.
