Bak Kut Teh impresses immediately with a pork-forward broth that balances fat and subtle herbal notes. Hearty and approachable, it pairs wonderfully with the steamed rice and fried dough fritters that add a crispy texture. Within the soup, tender bites of pork belly, ribs, and stomach are complemented by shiitake and shimeji mushrooms, the former soft and spongy with gentle earthy aromas, the latter tender yet slightly crisp, and topped with fresh cilantro.
Taken from an older review (2022):
- Hainanese Chicken Rice: Rice wasn't very fragrant with the chicken fat, but there was some salty sauce on the bottom. The bok choy and broccoli are decent, but the chicken was a little dry. The ginger onion dip was on the salty side.
-Char Kuey Teow: Lots of wok hei and fragrance, with bean sprouts, two types of noodles and some chicharron for added texture.
-Nasi Lemak: comes with rice cooked with coconut, sambal was spicy, salty, chili fragrant. Chicken was sometimes tough on the outside and dry. Eggs were nice, and the fried anchovies and peanuts were a good addition. read more
