We had Cannon Plumbing replace a tank water heater with a tankless type. My overall experience working with them was pretty terrible. The owner Connley talked to me on the phone before the project, took all the information and sent me an estimate for a condensing type tankless water heater. The estimate was higher than others I had received, but a building/restoration contracting company I was working with recommended Cannon, so I took their word for it and went with them. From start to finish, the job took longer than anticipated and communication was poor. I get that tradespeople may get stuck in a job resulting in other jobs getting delayed. But I expect proactive communication to let me know when they are going to be several hours late or no show up at all. I felt like Connley and Cannon Plumbing just took my time for granted and didn't think it was important to keep me informed if they weren't going to show up. And to top it all, I discovered after the job was complete that the tankless heater model they installed was one that was several hundred dollars cheaper than the one they had indicated in the estimate as well as the final invoice at job completion. I brought it to Connley's attention in early January. He promised someone will contact me to make this right. Given my priori experience with them, I wasn't holding my breath. It's now been over 3 months, and still there has been no attempt to get this corrected. I would not recommend Cannon Plumbing to anyone. read more

I just moved to Bastrop and had issues with the house drains. I put in a work order to my home warranty company, and they connected me to Cannon. Within a day, the guys were at my house and cleared my drains. Although the service was not covered, I was told a price upfront, and it was very reasonable. Conley with Cannon Plumbing was scheduled to repair/replace a hot water heater at our recently purchased older home thru our home warranty company. They were scheduled to arrive between 7-11 am. At 10:45 I called to ask for an updated ETA and Conley explained that we were next on his list and asked that I send him a photo of the model and serial number of the existing hot water heater which I did. He texts me back 1.5 hours later that we need a new burner assembly and a gas control valve and that he just needed to price it out an that if he shows up it will be $75 cash. I tell him that's fine, we have cash, please come check the unit. He says he's on his way. An hour later (2pm) he texts back "not gonna make it out because we already know what you need, no point in wasting your money and our time ma'am". He then suggest "or you can go through us and disregard your warranty company. I know what you need". I reminded him that I had already paid the warranty company and I just wanted him to stick to the agreement and to help us get hot water. After that, he stopped responding to my texts and would not answer the phone. read more

Recently hired Cannon plumbing for a plumbing emergency at my home. They were prompt to provide clear estimates over the phone, were able to send qualified crew to the location within 2 hours. All along, Conley was courteous, succinct and prompt. The crew mitigated the problem in 1 day which avoided the need to book hotels etc. Moreover, came back in a couple of days and implemented a long term solution. 4 stars because their price is a little higher than other plumbers out there - but can be worth it if you value speed and clear communication. Connely Cannon came to our house after our contractor's licensed plumber destroyed our plumbing, and left us with a leak. Connely showed up, knocked out the work in a timely and professional manner. Anything that came up was immediately addressed with us, to ensure we were all on the same page. In the end, his work was spot on and excellently executed. We are In the process of filing suit for damages to our foundation and plumbing. This company is absolutely reckless...go elsewhere!!! They made a huge hole inside our home after incorrectly locating a sewage break...oops! The break was actually outside of the home and was of course repaired from the exterior. But, the plumber left a non-plumber here who spent a day digging for a broken pipe that wasn't anywhere near this hole. In essence, jeopardizing the integrity of our foundation for absolutely no reason and to add insult to injury...we were charged for the digging, the hole & filling it back in. So here is the full story.... We hired Cannon to identify and repair a plumbing leak after having some foundation work done. Roger came out and found what he said was "a really bad leak in need of immediate repair in a tough location which was a major job." We were quoted $5,000 to repair and promised a 5-year warranty. We called around and although other companies charge $1000-$1500....the typical warranty is only 1-2 years. Looking back, I wish I would have gone with the gut, after talking to the owner and getting the total BS vibe, and took my business elsewhere but I bit on the longer warranty. Well upon repairing the first leak which was 1)rescheduled twice, 2)took 2-days versus the were 1-day we were promised and 3)hit a water line...they found "yet another even bigger leak, a complete separation in fact, with roots all in the pipe." They supposedly located the break, which was in the middle of a secondary bedroom. Roger and his son left and some non-plumber proceeded to dig out the hole to access the break. Well fast forward to that night...I go in the room and remove the boards to look at this supposed huge break and....nothing! There is the pipe...perfectly intact...and there is the huge dry hole...and the huge pile of completely dry soil next to it. Not at all what you would expect from a massive leak right? Well Roger and his son came the next morning and spent about an hour in the flowerbed on the side of the house repairing the broken pipe. Not once did they go in that hole inside...not once did they even look at it..except to fill it back in...after the repair was made from outside. Wow...so I have a hole for nothing? Well according to roger and now Connley...it's better to know and see if. What? What does that even mean?! BS The plumber took our check but "forgot to leave the invoice in his hurry to "get out of the rain." And that warranty...well we just now got that along with the invoice (single paragraph) after over a month and 1000 texts/phones calls to the company requesting it and. I own a real estate business and 11 investment properties...this is the worst vendor experience I've had to date. read more

Connley came out to fix my kitchen sink today, only one day after I put in a request for service through the Thumbtack app. Super fast response! I have had a clogged sink for about a week now, and haven't been able to do any dishes since the issue started because water kept backing up. I tried using a plunger, poured boiling water, and I used a 15 foot snake to see if I could get the issue fixed myself, but that was no help whatsoever. Connley had it fixed in no time at all. He had a 100 foot snake, which proved to be necessary for my kitchen pipes. Cool thing about this experience is the fact that he explained everything he did, gave expert advice, and even showed me step by step what he did and told me how to avoid future issues like this. I contacted the owner Chris and made an appointment to meet him. He called within 45 minutes of the appointment to cancel and reschedule, meanwhile claiming that he does not run operate his business this way. I made myself available for the second appointment and he no showed. I contacted him and he told me that his assistant was in the area and should arrive soon. He said he would call me right back. Mind you this was close to an hour after the rescheduled appointment time. After about another fifteen minutes I called him again and my call went straight to voicemail. I called several more times... Same thing. I suspect that he LIED and instead of being HONEST he blocked my call, WHAT BUSINESS OWNER DOES THAT?! Needless to say, he'll never get another phone call from me and will be reported to every online venue I can find! Don't hire this guy, looks like from another review his m.o. Is LYING to unsuspecting customers and instead of doing the responsible thing and owning up to a mistake he blocks your call!! read more

Cannon plumbing and drain is awesome! When you hire Cannon Plumbing, you work directly with the owner - Connley. I received bids from five local plumbers on restoring my entire house. Canon wasn't the cheapest, but they were the easiest to work with. They provided me a professional estimate and completed the work on time. The job required all new material for both freshwater and waste water. Cannon Employee, Jacob lead the crew with Chuckie on point. These two guys were courteous, friendly and professional. They took care of everything perfectly and picked up all of the plumbing construction debris when they left (which is rare amongst contractors). It was nice working with a plumber that didn't nickel and dime me for small stuff. The price they quoted was the final price (even though I'm a very picky customer). Connley with Cannon Plumbing was recommended by a friend and he did a great job for me. He installed 2 sink faucets I had purchased and re-installed 2 more that had been installed incorrectly. I told him I was selling the house soon so he suggested checking the gas line to the A/C and water heater to make sure everything would pass inspection. The gas water heater (although recently installed by another company) was not to code, so Connley installed the correct fittings. He even gave me instructions on how to light the pilot light so I wouldn't have to pay someone to come out and do that. He did a great job and his prices were reasonable! read more

Had foundation water leak. They came out quickly. Owner said that he had coordinated with Insurance before work started. After I paid them, the insurance adjuster said they overcharged me significantly. Insurance paid less than 1/2 of the $5K bill based upon comparable local plumber's rates. Informed owner who said he never actually spoke to adjuster or received official approval. Said he would get back and never did. read more
