I had an outside pipe burst after 4 p.m. on a Thursday. By the time I found that the plumber I usually use was retired it was almost 4:30. I was panicked because I couldn't turn the water off at the main line and there was no cut off at the broken line. I called Doug's Plumbing because I have a few friends who have used his services. Joanna was very nice and told me that it might be a few hours before they could get someone out to take a look but she would try to get someone out to at least turn off the main water line. Oscar and Beto arrived a little after five. They assessed the situation, turned off the water and went out to buy the necessary parts. With all that, they had the pipe repaired and water back on in about forty minutes. I was fully prepared for an extra charge for an after hours call but, nope, they only charged me for the work done. I was so pleased that I called Joanna and set up an appointment for someone to come take a look at a problem in my laundry room. Brendan and Beto came out (wearing masks I'm pleased to say) assessed the situation and made their recommendations. The cost of the house call was minimal and about half what I expected. The fact is that they could have taken advantage of me because the problem was not in the plumbing as I had thought but they didn't. I am so pleased with Doug, his staff and crew. Doug's Plumbing was recommended to us to do the plumbing for our shower remodel. As long as they were coming out to my house, we decided to have several other plumbing issues addressed. Doug came out to the house. He was very professional and patient as we showed him all we wanted done. He was able to save us money on a faucet rebuild instead of replacement. Doug sent us a written quote very quickly. We changed our minds a couple times and Doug was patient and revised our quote each time. When it was time for the work to be done, Tim and Zach showed up. Again, the professionalism was very evident. Tim was able to fix a plumbing problem that was done wrong years ago! He ensured all the work was done to perfection. Both Tim and Zach were great. I appreciate how hard they both worked to complete all the jobs we requested. When it came time to finish the trim work a week later, Tim was not available and Damon came out. We could not be more pleased with the professional and courteous care along with the expertise and knowledge of the technicians, especially Zach, our technician. We had so many plumbing issues for Zach to troubleshoot and repair and thankfully, he also found a huge issue with our hot water heater that we were unaware of. Zach spent the entire day at our place and didn't leave until after 7pm. He explained everything thoroughly and did his best to find the most cost effective solutions. He is incredibly personable and is a sincerely kind and genuine person. Doug is lucky to have him on staff! I also appreciated the excellent communication from Jason about all the costs involved and for going the extra mile for us. Would like to say thanks to Doug's pluming in Smithville. We had leaks in our slab and had to route all our water. They went above and beyond with top notch service, with working with my schedule and making sure I had temp water until got all of it installed. Did all this in 3 days. Even came back after to go over what was done. Did seem a little high priced at first but do know I could not have done it and believe will stand behind their work. Could have had it done cheaper but that is what you would get cheap work and then would have to call Doug's to come fix it anyway. From all the price quotes I received, Doug's was the best. Marty and a crew of 3 came and did the rough-in in just 1 day. When I have a plumbing need I wouldn't think of calling anyone other than Doug's! They have repaired my hot water heater, unclogged my kitchen sink and repaired leaking faucets. Yesterday they replaced shower diverters in both bathroom and I'm sure there's even more that I can't think of right now but they've done it all and done a great job! The technicians Tim and Zach that were here yesterday were professional and knowledgeable. They explained what they were going to do and then they did it.
