Cane Rosso is super solid bar food. We come here all the time after tennis matches and it's perfect for happy hour. We love love the honey bastard as our go to order. It's just enough sweetness from the habanero honey to pair with the bacon. I literally wipe away every last drop with the crust or the cheesy bread. First time visiting Cane Rosso, wanted to compare against other other pizza Italian places in the area, so wanted to try the margherita pizza because 10$ happy hour sounds good to me and Friday night having their special brisket lasagna! I showed up at 4:30 and they said they won't have the lasagna done until later in the day so couldn't get that without waiting longer and the waiter said it's not that great and recommended the bolognese as a better choice which for me is actually my favorite pasta and paired with the house red. Pizza arrived was tasty and worth 10$ happy hour price but my pizza was rolled too thin and so when picked up it flopped everywhere and had to be folded into itself as a clump to eat. Then bolognese for 18$ was a let down, the pasta was undercooked and the meat was clumped together in big pieces and not minced how it should be and the sauce was lacking in flavor didn't have that long simmer that gives it its flavor. Just made you think about hamburger helper bolognese. Too many staff around just hanging out in a big group next to me which got loud . I'll come back again for the pizza and maybe try a different pasta but if that was the best pasta on the list recommended then they have some work to do! read more

A Dallas classic pizza joint with multiple locations, Cane Rosso serves up delicious Neapolitan style pizzas. Their claim to fame is the Honey Bastard but man do I love the Truffle Shuffle. I appreciate that they have a ton of options for both red and white pizzas so you'll likely find one for you. And for apps the roasted Brussels sprouts are chefs kiss. Unique to them are the dessert pizzas I'm not always a sweets guy but wow, who knew throwing a bunch of sweets on a pizza dough would be so good. Both the beast and ladybird are amazing. But the calzone is a bit too milk chocolate heavy for me, feels like a Hershey's calzone. Service was top notch here. We came with a hugeee group and the restaurant got pretty busy while we were there. For the most part they kept up with the orders pretty well and kept good composure even though it was obviously really busy. So props to our server and the management. They were also apologetic when some of the food was delayed. I'll say that I think there's better fancy pizza out there in Dallas if that's what you're going for. But Cane Rosso hits the spot for quality Neapolitan that are crowd pleasers. 1st, the staff is very personable. Friendly, and outgoing. We had some laughs while I was waiting for my food. I ordered on May the 4th. I had to wait for my pizzas, The Roni and The Ladybird. Both were as always, delicious. I also ordered the rosemary parmesan tots. I had to wait for my pizza, but as I was waiting, I saw the tots came out 15 minutes before the pizza. Needless to say, they were cold. I always eat some in the car driving home. I think if I had to wait on anything, it should have been the tots. Cold tots are not fun. I will say they were crispy. Cane Rosso is a great place to enjoy pizza and pasta. The food is always served hot. Staff is very nice and helpful in making suggestions. My reason for giving 3 stars was because of the dish I ordered, the shrimp scampi. The description of the dish does not list lemon as an ingredient. The amount of lemon in the dish over-powering. I did share this with the server and the recommendation was to write a review and share this observation so that the home office would understand the recipe needs to be tweaked. We ordered a Margherita pizza to-go around 5:00 on a Friday night. We called and the young man taking our order was very pleasant and he said he'd need our credit card number over the phone. No problem. I'm sure they get burned all the time. Pick up was easy, just head to the specific entrance for Pick Up orders. Got home, pizza looked good. Getting a slice to your plate is a little tricky because the bottom crust was floppy. I ended up eating my slice with a fork and knife. I came here for the first time yesterday (Sunday) at about 2pm. This was my first time at any Cane Rosso. The brunch menu was still happening and I enjoyed a $2 mimosa and an old fashioned. Both drinks were very good. I decided to do the Build Your Own Pizza. The base price for this wasn't listed (red flag), but the menu stated that this starts with a margherita pizza and then you pick your toppings up to 3 that you want to add. I decided to do mushrooms, pepperoni, and sausage. The pizza was good, although the crust was wet and limp so it was hard to eat it without the toppings coming off (including the cheese). When I received my bill, I was surprised to see $1 added for "red sauce." Huh? What? I didn't ask for red sauce, and does a margherita pizza not automatically come with red sauce. I looked back at the menu and nowhere does it say anything about a dollar extra for red sauce, especially when it says that the BYO Pizza STARTS WITH A MARGHERITA PIZZA! I know, I know, it's just a dollar. I get that, but I detest bait-and-switch moves with a passion, so this is about principle. I questioned this to the bartender (I sat at the bar), and after explaining my position, he adjusted the charge. I appreciate that, but still, wth? Not posting the charge in the menu seems like a recipe for "we can charge whatever we'd like that day." If you wanted to charge $17 for the base rather than the $16 that was on my bill, then just do that, and don't add extra miscellaneous charges for no reason. Was the pizza good? Yes. Were the drinks good? Yes. Would I come back? Sure. Did the pricing or lack of transparency on the menu, and bait-and-switch practice turn me off? Absolutely. read more

We are always on the lookout for a romantic, spontaneous date night. Cane Rosso is definitely Not that place, lol. We have been in the hospitality business all our Life, and are true Foodies. When a server/shift leader, asks you if you enjoyed your food or experience, and the customer tells you there's an issue with anything, you as an establishment should listen and act accordingly. The public as a whole doesn't like to be critical, especially face to face. I believe as a customer you should explain with zero tone, and both sides could be happy with the outcome. I also believe most establishments want to make things right. Too many people just give their negative review after they have left the building. Tonight we tried to let Jeremy hear how dissatisfied, disappointed we were with the food quality?!!!!! He had total disregard for anything we had to say. We were going to just surf the appetizer menu. We started with the fried artichokes, burrata with balsamic cherries and the meatballs. Not that we were very happy with our appetizers, I could say some were our tastebuds...but most of it was food quality. The artichokes are heavily breaded and salty, the burrata was old, firm and tan. The cherry to cheese ratio was 3/1. The meatballs were tasty. Since all we ate were the 3 meatballs, and none of the other 2 appetizers, we decided on a pizza, Che Cazzo. Well, it continued to go down hill! The pizza was WAY TOO SALTY and the crust undercooked, soggy! We asked if it was the sausage or sauce. The bartender, Rainy said she believed it was the sauce, she also said she went back in the kitchen to taste. We thought there might be an issue with a cook adding double salt. Jeremy said that doesn't happen since the sauce is made in a universal kitchen. Well, there's definitely an issue. Maybe the sauce has set too long on the stream table, reducing...causing a salt problem??! We were overcharged a glass of wine as well. Jeremy argued with us. Man I guess they need our $158 tab, more than trying to make things right. Our bartender was nice, but the shift leader, Jeremy has zero customer skills. Our pizza should have removed from our bill, and the overcharged glass of wine, well it's just wrong! No One Offered to Remake our Pizza??! Cane Rosso, listen to your customers! The pizza wasn't the only bad taste in our mouths....the lack of listening and disregard...there's a Life Lesson in this review. Edited: Cane Rosso Folks, After talking to the area director Caitly, I appreciate her offer of a $20 gift card to come back in for another visit. But since the pizza we ordered was $19, that won't even cover the expense once you add tax. Our visit was $158 and we didn't eat any food except the meatballs. If you enjoy the honey bastard, you will def love this one. It wasn't as spicy as the honey bastard, but equally light and flavorful. We are so glad that Cane Rosso has a new location near me on Arapaho/ Hillcrest. We have been a fan of their wood flame pizza for years but it was always too far away for just a pizza. This location is very family focus because they are in the neighborhood of families and elementary schools. The area adjacent to the restaurant is a giant park for kids. While we love the pizza and the sides salads it is the pizza we crave. They have all the exotic types of pizza with interesting topping, my wife is a meat lover pizza gal and that is what we get. Heard lots of great things but was disappointed in our food and service. We made a reservation in advance for a party of 10 and had a very inexperienced server with no help - but there was less than 50% occupancy for the night so it didn't seem to make sense. (drinks weren't offered until after food was ordered, we had to chase those down, gluten crust was served to a child with Celiac disease but thankfully the parent triple asked and they didn't eat it)...this was after we told them it was a special occasion when calling and arriving. The pizza I tried (arugula and prosciutto) was not edible. The crust was delicious, I tried another persons order (CBF) and it was good but the one I ordered had so much garlic on it that it made our tongues burn and we actually tasted garlic the next day. Don't get me wrong, we love garlic, don't measure when cooking with it and always add extra - but this was truly inedible, as if a jar of minced garlic was spilled on top and covered by green. The amount of arugula on it looked pretty but also took away from the flavor. CBF was delicious. My child loved the sausage pizza and the kids servings were very generous portions and good prices.
