I bought a camper from them in 2020 and got what I wanted. I went in looking to order some trim gasket recently (2021) and got the run-around. I also emailed them twice and no response and also went in person. They were unable to help me because they had no time. I don't plan on ever buying another camper from them or trying to order a part. I'm saying all this because there customer service stinks, I don't even want to give them 1 stars read more

This is an update from a previous post I made about a month ago when I had my 5 year old RV inspected by Camping World in Mesa because I had an offer from Good Sam to purchase it. They said the roof would need to be replaced at the cost of $10,000. I decided to get 2 other inspections and both said there was nothing wrong with the roof and it was typical of a 5 year motorhome with this type of fiberglass roof. I returned to Camping World, and after some tense moments with one of their representatives, they had two other technicians come out and agreed that the roof was in good condition and no repairs were needed. I am happy this was resolved and they realized their error. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because I was looking for them to buy my RV. Since it took a month to resolve this issue, they cut $4000 off the original offer since they said the market is slowing down quite a bit. I might consider them in the future to do business with, but they will probably not be my first choice and I will be very alert to anything I am not comfortable with. read more

Talking about buying an RV only. They are ripoff artists. They charge extra for the brand name of the RV, charge for orientation and nickel and dime you. Even a place like little dealer does not do that. Buyer beware! There are other places to buy an RV. We eventually purchased in Prescott and had a much netter experience and selection with nothing added on except for tax, title, and license. Camping World wanted an extra $2500 because the trailer was a Starcraft which is also a low rated brand per RV Guide. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere read more

BUYER BEWARE!! If i could give less stars, i would. This place is absolutely horrid. My parents bought a used travel trailer from this place on September 12th, 2020. Thankfully, they were talked into buying an extended warranty, because thus far, we've found that the AC doesn't work, the refrigerator doesn't work, the microwave doesn't work, the black water tank has a crack in it, and the door doesn't stay shut/locked when going down the road. On 9/22 (10 days after being duped into buying this piece of junk), my parents dropped it off at the Camping World in Lakeville, MN, after finding the microwave, door and black water tank issues while traveling to MN from AZ. They were told time and again that the work was "almost done", but in reality, all that had been addressed was the microwave. Due to a medical emergency, my father is no longer able to drive, so i flew up to MN to pick up the camper... only to find that after 25 days with them, Camping World had hardly done a thing. Their excuse was that they were waiting for a part to come in. When i pressed them on this, I was told it was a PVC elbow... something you can pick up at any Home Depot for about 2 bucks. I told them i needed to pick the camper up, to bring it back to Arizona, and was assured that the Lakeville location would notify the Mesa location that i would bring the camper to them for the needed repairs. So i picked it up and drove it back to AZ, dropping it off at the mesa location where they bought it, a little over a month ago. Today i received a call telling me that not only can they not work on it until sometime mid-December, but that i cant leave it there and it must be picked up today. Oh, and to top it all off, when i was talking to the sales manager, he offered to buy it back, for just over 50% of what they sold it to my parents for a month ago. Classy. If you choose to do business with this outfit, you do so at your own peril. I have never experienced such a rude, disrespectful, dishonest and outright sleazy business in my life. read more

I was looking to buy a new 5th wheel, found one that was $73,000. I had a 2017 $15,000 camper (paid for) to trade in. They came back taking my trade with a total price of $75,000! I asked if they forgot to put the trade in the deal? He said no, that was all the fee's they have. So I asked the sales, do you want me to pay $3,000 to trade my camper? He stated to go over the fee's! I had enough, told him we were never going to make a deal! He then insulted me on the way out. I will not ever step foot in that store! read more

Bought a travel trailer at a dealership in Tucson, but CW will service it under the two year warranty. We took the trailer in for warranty repairs at the end of season last year as well as in November of 2017. Erich in the service department did a great job of communicating with me throughout the process. Starcraft took forever in some cases to approve repairs, but that had nothing to do with CW. I would use CW again for repairs if I knew Erich would be the service adviser. read more

We purchased a 2020 Heartland Pioneer and have since used it twice. There's so many issues with this RV where do we start..... the slide out metal is warped so bad that there is a 2" gap around the window exposing it to the elements and potentially causing severe health issues if water were to intrude into the slide. Almost every panel on the outside is warping in the sun, panels on the inside are loose and coming apart, the floor is coming up in spots, the vinyl floor has ripples everywhere, the shower and tub are leaking/not sealed, the hot water heater door is warped, the kitchen backsplash is warped, entry door warped..... Basically the trailer is melting is what it seems like. After bringing the camper in, having it inspected by Camping World/Gander RV I was told the camper needs excessive repairs and would require 82 hours of labor! I spoke to Brian the manager who has been pretty helpful through the process and I told him we would like them to buy this unit back as it's defiantly not what was described to us. He advised me that he would contact Heartland and see what they wanted to do. After about a month I finally received a call from Heartland saying that Camping World/Gander RV inflates the cost and time of repairs, that the camper only needed 30 hours of repair "maybe" a little more. I then asked the Heartland representative "so does that mean Camping World/Gander RV rips off customers like this?" He didn't really have a reply to my question but insisted the RV wasn't "that bad". After talking to him for a bit I realized that he wasn't even fully aware of ALL the issues we had with the camper. He advised me if the repairs were that severe then they would take the camper back to Indiana to there facility for repair. They also said they will not do any buy back however they will make repairs..... I spoke back with Brian and told him where we stand I also asked him if they were willing to stand behind there product that they sold and he said he could only offer a trade in value of $14,000.00. We just paid $28,000.00 in Feb for this camper, used it twice and maybe 20 miles of total travel. Here I sit with no camper, no answers on repairs, I was offered to use my camper if I wanted however we feel as if it's unsafe and don't want to have a quick fix just so we can use it. We were also told that Heartland assembles these trailers in a climate much different from Arizona and that some of the staples and methods they use to cut corners cause issues with unit's in hotter weather. My question is if that's the case then why would Camping World/Gander RV sell customers a product that they know would have issues here in the valley. If you have a Heartland Pioneer I strongly suggest that you look at your unit and check for issues. The day I brought mine in for service another person was dropping there's off as well and said it was "falling apart". Please feel free to send me a message as we now have to retain an attorney, file complaints with the AG and BBB along with contacting the news in hopes to try to get this matter resolved seeing as how no one wants to stand by there product..... read more

I called the store in Mesa looking for a specific part, before I completed my sentence, I was transferred to "products". I took the family to look at new TT's since our hybrid was starting to get too small for us. I was skeptical since I had some previous insurance work done on my existing RV at the service center and was less than a thrilled with how that went. Anyhow, I spoke with the salesperson JEANA. She started off nice and drove us around in her golf cart showing us some different models. Mind you, this was on a Sunday at about 330 and they closed at 5. So about 45 minutes after showing us about 6-8 models JEANA starts to become a little pushy and wants to make a sale. I CLEARLY explained to her I was not interested in buying today as I wanted to discuss all options with my wife (price, features, etc). I didn't think it was too much to ask before I drop 30K on a TT. So now JEANA is clearly peeved I'm not buying today and I ask her if I could get some pamphlets on the models we saw. She directed us to her office and placed 2 papers on her desk. One for me and one for my wife. She wanted all of our information to enter us into a $1000 Camping World giveaway. My wife very politely said, "No thanks, I don't want to fill this out" which was also my sediment. No joke, JEANA looked at us and said , "Really? I spent all that time with you and you can't even give me your information?" Then she pointed to the brochure rack and said the brochures are over there and walked away. Not a "it was nice to meet you" or "please come back and see me when you're ready" or "here's my card, call me if you have any questions". NOPE! It was get the fudge out, I'm done with you! I was absolutely blown away that a sales rep would EVER, no matter the situation act like that to a potential customer. DO NOT IGNORE ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. THEY ARE SPOT ON! Well, I guess I got lucky today. Looking at the other review and what I went through at Camping World Avondale makes me believe Keith is a rare gem of a guy and prayer does work. 48 hours to Country Thunder, a like-new RV, total incompetence from Avondale Camping World, and I find a service foreman that not only figured out why my AC wouldn't work, but took the time to walk me through and finish what wasn't completed in Avondale. Keith at Mesa CW really saved my bacon. It is so sad to see the horrible review on both these Camping World sites. CW, what is going on? We spend thousands on the vehicles and yet the service (except for Keith) is horrific. read more

Anyone who gives more than 1 star to Camping World hasn't been there much-- even a broken watch is right twice a day. We had service here multiple times over years. They consistently didn't know what they were doing; we didn't realize until we started getting second opinions, from mobile service guys, the manufacturers, or people like audio specialists. But they diagnosed erroneously & charged us nevertheless, kept our motor home for weeks at a time. Workers used our empty black tank, and items were stolen! This infuriated me!!! If you're going to buy--beware that salesmen will steer you to the RV that will give them the biggest commission. read more

Picked up my rv from them on Friday. They left the fridge/freezer off with the doors closed AFTER I had opened them. Mildew everywhere! They left it dirty inside and out and cut corners everywhere. Example: replaced a compartment lock but didn't order a matching lock mechanism so now I have a key just for that compartment. Really unimpressed. The staff is friendly but that doesn't make up for their incompetence. Avoid this place if you can! read more

we purchased our travel trailer about 2 1/2 months ago maybe three months ago, was able to take it out twice, each time we took it out, there was an issue. The first time we took it out we were locked out of the trailer, thank God our son was inside and could unlock the door. The second time we took it out I went to take a shower, and water started pouring out the back of the trailer. The third time we took it out, we were locked out for approximately 4 1/2 hours, contacted warranty, they were trying to get somebody out to drill the hole so we could get back in the trailer, mind you, it's 120° out at Canyon Lake.! warranty couldn't get a trade out to get us into our trailer, and told us to go ahead and drill out the lock, which took us over an hour to do. So we call camping world once we get home that day, to bring in the trailer for all of the issues to be fixed. We let them know we had a camping trip in a month, and they told us it would be ready, because that is how they do things, and why they sell them, so they can be used. We have contacted camping world numerous times, leaving voicemail, voicemail after voicemail, and no return calls. When we do get a callback, they tell us that their technician was in a car accident, and so it has not been worked on! I understand stuff happens, and then ask them, did you have another tech to work on it? The response was I'm not sure, I haven't been in the trailer yet! So here we are two days before we are supposed to leave on our prepaid camping trip, again no one answers the phones, nobody calls us back, and we don't know if we can make it to our camping trip! At this point, I would never, and will never, purchase another camping trailer from camping world! Their customer service is absolutely horrible. I work for warranty and would never disregard customers like this ever! I'm so disappointed in our brand new 2022 trailer and camping world. its our first one! So sad! read more

I went into camping world to browse at their merchandise and I found a used gun for sale that caught my eye that I wanted to purchase. The associate who ran the gun counter ignored me for approximately 30 minutes until I finally got service. I asked to look at the used pistol and he handed me the gun to examine and he yelled at me when I began to take the slide off to examine the pistol for any damage. He very rudely said to me "I dont take your stuff apart so you dont take my stuff apart" so I gave the pistol back to him. The gun didnt have a price tag on it so I asked him how much it was and he gave me a ball park price of 5-600$ but that it didnt have an official price yet. I asked when would they have a price for the gun and he rudely told me that he was extremely busy at the moment and he wont get to it till later. He told me this and I looked around and the gun counter was empty. Due to the horrible customer service from this employee I will never be coming back to this store and I will make sure I let everyone I know to stay away from here. read more

My husband and I had the most unprofessional and unethical experience with this dealership. We spent hours negotiating for a toy hauler and got passed back and forth between Ryan and the Sales Manager who was prone to telling his customers off for making what they considered to be reasonable offers. In the end we ran credit and entered into an agreement to purchase a toy hauler that was sitting in Camping World, ABQ New Mexico. Mesa's Camping World took our $5,000 deposit and entered it into their system and since this was a Sunday afternoon asked us to come back on Monday to complete the balance of the paperwork. They indicated that they would courier the toy hauler papers from New Mexico to Mesa and agreed to split costs with us on driving the toy hauler from NM to Tucson Arizona where we could pick it up. Monday rolled around and the update from Camping World was no papers yet and that they were trying to find a driver. Tuesday rolls around and still no papers or update. Late in the day a call comes in from the local Sales Manager to say the District Manager took a look at the deal, decided there was no profit in it for them and advised they were cancelling the transaction and refunding our $5,000. We also received a call from the District Manager with the same comment that there was no money in it for them and they weren't doing the deal they had agreed to in the dealership. We got an anonymous text message hours later to say the $5,000 refund had been processed but still waited another four days before we saw the money back in our account. I called Ryan on Monday and Tuesday and he was not available. He has never attempted to do any follow up with us ..... not even a gee sorry. So now we have credit run on what is an impeccable credit record in the 800's ... and we have nothing to show for it. We've had $5,000 taken out of our savings that took the best part of the week to get back and we've communicated with Jayco about the less than ethical behavior of this dealer. Apart from that the search for our luxury toy hauler continues. As we go we ensure we tell our story and warn everyone about Camping World. I would advise anyone to take a wide berth around these folk. read more

Absolutely the very worst repair experience ever. A simple one day awning fabric replacement has stretched to 4 weeks. Never once have they kept a commitment and there is always a new "reason". Now they have pulled my unit from the repair bay as they were finishing it to make room for a customer who purchased a new unit. This place is at best spastic. Even called before hand and they said they had two in stock and they were $130. What a joke! They also charged more than retail on the other items I was there to buy as well. There were two guys sitting in the office and never even came out and I noticed that one of the guys looked at us and looked away. We took our motor home into the service department for shocks and a new steering stabilizer installed which all started about 3 months ago. After ordering wrong parts 3 times, and then the right parts were lost, we finally got the job done. David was our service advisor and did an awesome job of keeping on top of this disaster. We made at least five trips there because we had picked up and dropped odd the RV several times. Two trips were because they can't seem to answer the phone and they even claim voice mail messages were not received. The voicemail system is a piece of crap too. We finally picked up the RV yesterday where I asked their parts manager, LARS MEYERS, for a much deserved discount because of all the hassle and multiple trips we made, 45 min each way. He said they do not give discounts for any reason and did not apologize for any of the troubles we encountered. He was an absolute PRICK. The rudest man I have ever met. They do not care a bit about customer service. I will never go back there for anything. Everything they have can be ordered elsewhere, and a lot cheaper on Amazon. Hats off to David for working for this jerk. I am calling the owner to complain as well. read more

Camping World in Houghton Lakes, MI advertised a water damaged trailer for sale. I spoke to an RV inspector that emphasized the importance of checking for mold. I am 1700 miles away from Houghton Lakes and was trying to get more information on the mold issue, which a salesman indicated there was evidence of. In trying to get more information on the issue, the head salesman, Larry and another salesman, Kenny, were deliberately not going to help. They did not want to know if there was mold (which would be relatively easy to remediate) and they were not about to let anyone do what was needed to check for mold. They are deliberately tyring to take advantage of people that do not know anything about this and they are refusing to disclose that there is mold in that trailer. A good lawsuit would straighten this situation out! read more

I had an Insta-Brake installed on my new car & 12 days later I lost my brakes completely. I was near home and used my emergency brake to make it the last 2 blocks. I had the car transported to the auto dealer & paid $170.66 for the repair. The dealer said [wrote] that the loss of braking was from an "after market fitting" installed with the Insta-Brake. I called Camping World Mesa and got no satisfaction. I wrote Camping World Mesa & Camping World Headquarters in Kentucky asking for reimbursement of my $170.66 and got NO RESPONSE. Then after we were able to pull the rim off and they still refused to help with a spare didn't care that our camper was stranded - we even offered a $200 deposit- nope. And to order a new rim a tire would have just taken too long and would have been "too expensive to overnight" to us.
