We've been here several times and it's very good. There aren't a lot of good places to eat nearby. Our first visit was in the old location which was small and very busy. By the next visit, they had moved to the current location which holds a lot more people. Chips and two dips are brought to each table. And the chips are unlimited. The red dip is a spicy salsa. The white dip is almost like ranch but a little different. It looks like queso, but it isn't. I've tried taco salad, quesadillas, chalupa, enchilada, and chimichangas. The taco salad was light on meat, but otherwise they've all been great. We keep going back for more! read more

I was not happy with my service people who came in after us got waited on before me and my family yes some had motorcycle patches but the waiter still got over 30 in tips even though we was not being waited on this place was one of my favorites now its not treated very rudely. read more

Delicious Mexican food. Princeton, WV does not have many non chain restaurants to choose from. This restaurant is a great place to get a fantastic, quality meal. We have been here before when passing through the area and enjoyed our meals so much that we decided to make this one of our favorite places to eat in Princeton. The previous location was a few doors down by the Walmart shopping area. The location was fine but small for the amount of business that we saw when eating there. The new stand alone building is very spacious and very nice. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. To start with they bring you a large basket of fresh chips and 2 bowls of salsa. One is a mild red salads and the other is a creamy ranch dip. Both are excellent and very addicting. We ordered off of the lunch menu which has smaller prices and reduce prices, perfect! Order: steak chimichanga with beans Enchilada, quesadilla, and a Chalupa Both meals were excellent, fresh and very tasty. We left full and happy and will definitely be back again. read more

Stopped in Princeton for a night on our way down south and thoroughly enjoyed this lovely restaurant. Staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was great. Ample portions and complimentary chips, salsa & dip are always a treat. Veggie fajitas were fantastic and we definitely understand why the Super Burrito is a fan fave - absolutely delicious! The current "live wait" feature says a 5 minute wait time. This was very in accurate In my case. I ordered my food by phone and drove the 15 minutes to Campestre to pick up my order which is plenty of time to have prepared my dish. I arrived and waiting patiently for over 15 minutes and after three different people coming up and asking me my name or what my order was I was still food less...finally got my order and the food was okay. If you want to save some cash get the cielo mar y Tierra it's to die for! It comes on a giant sizzling platter with bacon wrapped shrimp, steak slices,grilled chicken, and pork. Also peppers and onions and 2 giant jalapeños! So goood and packed with flavor. It also comes with black beans and rice! So you could share this with 3 people if you ordered one extra side! A plate of dog food would've been a welcomed dish after our experience at Macado's. Fortunately, dog food was not on the menu, but quesadillas were. In the amount of time it took us to get a table at Macado's, we had margaritas, chips and salsa. The Millionaire margarita was top notch. For dinner, I had some kind of quesadilla that had ham, steak and cheese in it. Never had ham in a Mexican anything, but it was good. Wife had steak and onion and was equally delighted. While visiting my family in WV they were telling me about Campestre a new Mexican restaurant in town. Appropriately named in Spanish meaning country or remote near the Appalachian mountain area. I was doubtful but after looking at the reviews on Yelp I was curious. So off we went. I expected a hole in the wall but was pleasantly surprised. The bar was the first thing I noticed. Makes you want a drink at once. The decor was well done. Well laid out with high ceilings & nicely muted colors. I was in a party of four. We ordered margaritas & they were potent but sooo good. My mom does not like Mexican or spicy food. So for her I ordered Fajita Texana meats & shrimp. My aunt & uncle ordered T-Bone steaks, the Santa Fe & the Campestre. Meanwhile I wanted something light with seafood so I ordered the El Costenos a dish with grilled fish filet with shrimp, corn & Broccoli. I was very pleased with my dinner. It had great flavor & fresh tasting. The Mexican Rice was moist & tasty. The shrimp was perfectly cooked & seasoned. My mom's dish was not spicy & she was surprised that it was so good. The T-Bones were delish & tender. We ate the leftovers next day and even after it was heated in the microwave, still tender. For dessert we ordered the Leche Flan. It was creamy but not too sweet. It was a nice ending to our meal. Did I mention leftovers. We filled 3 containers with it. Special shout-out to our amazing waitress Kyala! Took good care of us. So if you ever find yourself on I77 through Princeton WV stop and visit Campestre you won't be sorry. read more

Dear Manager, Today August 10, 2019, between 8 and 8:30pm, my husband and I walked into your establishment eager to enjoy a nice Mexican meal after 10 hours on the road. We were (not) greeted by 4 of your employees gathered at the hostess stand looking at their cell phones. None of the four said a word. Nothing. We must've been interrupting them. Finally, a young woman with glasses gathered menus (didn't ask how many were in our party) and started walking. We followed (still no words were spoken). She stopped at a booth, casually tossed the menus down and walked away. No words spoken even after I said THANK YOU! We looked at each other and shook our heads. We got up and left. Manager, you do not run a good restaurant. Owner, you need to take hold of the reins to your restaurant. I've never seen such a display of rude incompetence. Good luck to you. read more

I ate here while I was in town. I have eaten in restaurants all around the world and this has to be one of my favorite. I ordered the Pina Loca which is shrimp, steak, peppers, and pineapple topped w cheese and sauce! It came in a pineapple bowl. Pretty cool. My server Cage hosted our party w a lot of energy and friendly smile. We worked him!! Brought our fat selves four orders of their delicious queso w our chips. Finished the meal w charros. The entire experience was great. We had a wait when we got there but that to me is part of dinning. I will wait for good food. Mom really enjoyed her margarita. Wife was super happy w tacos de asada. We visited for a late lunch on Sunday. It wasnt crowded but was busy. The staff at welcome desk is not too welcoming. The girl slammed our menus on our table before sashaying away. Our server was pleasant though. Food was good and was served quickly. Stick with menu. Dont ask for customizations or off menu. I'm very happy to see a newer establishment in Princeton! We took our nephew here for graduation celebration as its his favorite in town. I wasn't blown away but that could be because I live in a larger city with more options and Michelin star chefs. I think for the area its decent overall. My meal was flavorful but pretty salty, had they left more salt out it would have been a perfect dish I believe. As a passerby, I'd say give it a shot but I dont rank it above any of the other larger chain restaurants in the area. read more

First time visit from NC. Food received recommended. Been waiting ten minutes for service. Needed a table for 6. Told had a table ready but there was a party on nine for it in 30 minutes. Manager just dropped by to leave chips and salsa. Wife said thank you. He turned his head and did not respond. I will stick with my hometown restaurants. I stopped here when road-tripping through West Virginia. I'll note that I lived in California for many years and currently live in Texas, so my standard for Mexican or Mexican-American food is quite high. But I'm not applying my CA/TX standards to this review! The food was actually delicious, and there are lots of good vegetarian options. (For a vegan option, you could probably order the veggie fajitas without sour cream.) I had a combo with rice, beans, a spinach enchilada (which was, surprisingly, filled with basically just a ton of spinach, and covered with sauce), and a cheesy mushroom quesadilla. It all tasted great, and they gave us plentiful free chips with good salsa. The drawbacks are, first, that it took a *really* long time to be served. (We were there with a couple of little kids who were getting quite antsy after a long day in the car, which made the wait tough.) Also, the server was really sullen, to the point that my friend was worried that we or the kids had done something to anger her - but no, she was just sort of sullen. Second, my friend (who doesn't drink very much) ordered a frozen strawberry daquiri. And it was absolutely dreadful - undrinkably bad. I confirmed this by trying a sip of it; it tasted sort of like children's cough medicine. She didn't drink any, and told the server that the drink was really bad when the server asked how things were. The server then offered to fix it by adding orange juice or ice to it . . . which I don't think would have helped. To their credit, Campestre just took the (untouched) drink back and didn't charge us for it. So in short: come for good Mexican-American food, but don't order a drink and be ready to wait a long time for it! read more
