This was a nice quiet christmas getaway. The price was pretty good and we had a nice water view. Most things were closed because of christmas but the outdoor hot tub was open for use. Chelan seems pretty small but it has a cute little downtown area. Unfortunately everything was closed for two days except for a dive bar across the street and the grocery store. We wanted a quiet weekend and did not want the crowds and chaos (or costs) of Leavenworth but Chelan was completely dead. Overall we had no complaints and were aware that things would be a bit dead, but I guess we thought Chelan might be a bit bigger with a little more to do. Overall I think this is probably a nice place to stay, but we picked a bad time to visit. read more

Campbell's Resort and Spa is a wonderful place to come with family and friends to enjoy sun, fun and time away from home. The resort is centrally located to the downtown restaurants and shops and offers an excellent array of spa amenities. One of the best features of the resort is having "guest only" access to the private beach which also offers availability to the floating docks, kayak rentals and the private pools & hot tub. The rooms are exceptionally clean, well decorated and all the rooms overlook the beautiful lake. It's a safe facility where you feel comfortable and secure. I grew up in East Wenatchee and spent every summer since childhood in Chelan enjoying the beaches and trying to sneak onto Campbell's section of secured beach. I always wanted to stay at Campbell's hotel but never had the opportunity until Independence Day 2010 when we went with another couple and their children. We had such an amazing and relaxing time and wished we would have gone there years sooner. The resort and the staff's hospitality towards us felt like we stepped back in time where life was enjoyed at a slower more relaxing pace. Overall, it was a magical four days and three nights and we're going back again this year to celebrate the 4th of July festivities. We plan to watch the celebratory fireworks which are fired from the middle of the lake from our room's patio overlooking the water. It's the perfect venue to celebrate America and our freedom. The outdoor restaurant, The Veranda Pub & Grill, is a perfect place to dine al fresco and offers a variety of entrees such as steaks, pasta, seafood and sandwiches. They have an extensive selection of cocktails and wines that won't disappoint! There is a variety of price points on the menu and it should fit into most people's budget. Everything about this resort is outstanding. Campbell's Resort and Spa has been around since 1901 and I can understand why it has survived and thrived all these years. I hope we can make it an annual tradition going forward! read more

We came here for our Honeymoon from July 22nd-July 24th 2013. From the second that we pulled into the parking lot we could tell this place was really well kept up. During Check-in we told the girl behind the counter that this was our honeymoon and she upgraded our room for us at no cost and said "I am so happy for both of you!" We were so impressed, this type of service just doesn't exist these days! The room was very big and had a great, great view of the lake! There was a lot of staff throughout the entire place constantly cleaning and they were all so nice and talkative. The location is perfect, right by all of the restaurants and shops. Again, what really made this place stand out was the service and how clean everything was! I read a few reviews on here and I think it is silly to complain about the shower heads!! Really??? I am sorry but get a life!! I am 5"11 and the shower head was at head level!! I highly recommend this place to anyone going to Lake Chelan read more

I was at Campbell's for a business conference, but I brought my spouse with plans to make it a relaxing weekend. Things worked out exactly as planned. We stayed in Building 4, which is right across from one of the resort's two hottubs. Even though the hotel was fairly full (two different conference groups were present) most of the time we had the hottub to ourselves, which overlooks the lake and was very relaxing. Our room was modern and comfortable. We had a firm but comfortable king sized bed. The room's other furnishings were nice and the room was very clean and new looking. The grounds at Campbells are beautiful and it's centrally located to shopping, restaurants, and activities in Chelan. My husband ate at the resort's bistro and said the prime rib hash was "out of this world"--I think that's a pretty glowing recommendation. He also said that despite a busy breakfast rush the staff was prompt and courteous. The value was very good, though this reservation was part of my conference's special rate and we traveled during off-peak season, I don't know about the regular or peak-season rates. The conference facilities were nicely laid out. The chairs weren't very comfortable, but that's about the only bad thing I have to say. This was our first trip to Chelan and we decided we'd definitely go back again, especially in the spring, the weather was nice but the town wasn't crowded, as I'm sure it is in the summer. read more

Poor service at the kayaks and paddleboard rental Update: the attendant named Kenny was extremely rude. After nicely helping out a white family, he took over my ticket, asked "is this yours" then threw it on the table in front of me. I didn't engage but this rude and racist behavior is completely unacceptable anywhere, esp at a hotel renowned for hospitality. I don't know where this teenager is getting his education - he should probably develop some basic manners and patience before going back to the hospitality industry. I stayed at the hotel on a Monday (for a hefty price) expecting a good service from their reputation. However when I tried to get half an hour of kayak rental for my daughter with their coupon. Even though the kayaks are simply sitting idle on shore, the attendants keep telling me they are fully booked and will not bend (I asked at least three times during two hours) even though I told them I will wait to take a cancellation or I will only squeeze in half an hour and come back as soon as they run out (which they never did. Not even close. Two kayaks never left shore- what the heck). The attendants have no empathy, poor manners and the system of reservation with no deposit or cancellation policy is completely stupid! Disappointed and infuriated. Don't come here. read more

My family has been coming here for over 20 years and we've always had a great time at this resort. Directly on the beach its a perfect place that allows you to stumble out of your room at whatever time you deem to be morning and find a place to spend your day on the beach by the lake. They have kayaks and paddle-boards available for rent, it'd be awesome if you didn't have to pay for these but I suppose there are a lot of things in life I'd rather not have to pay for. If you want to paddle-board reserve one early like a week before you get there early as they seem to be popular. Also don't remain standing on the damn thing when you go over the rope the separates the open lake from the swimming area. You'll fall and hurt yourself, ok, I fell and hurt myself you maybe won't. read more

Wow! What a disappointment! We have have stayed at this resort more that 8 years now as our Mother's Day tradition. Typically stay 2-3 night however this year we only stayed only one night and was hoping for our usual relaxing quick getaway. Check out is usually pretty quick and easy as you pack up and leave, no requirement to go to the reception area for check-out-standard procedure. A week after the trip we realized they had by mistake charged our credit card for 2 nights even though we only stayed this time one night. Thought not a problem they made a mistake and we will call and they will resolve their mistake! OMG...did not expect to speak with the rudest person ever who called herself a manager and who hung up the phone 2 times on us! She said it shows here we stayed 2 nights and she would not listen when we tried to explain her that it was a mistake on their end and we stayed here just one night this time.I couldn't believe what customer kinda of terrible customer service we received, especially after we had stayed with them years. It is not right to do that to your customers - if you made a mistake own it and fix it. Sad to say that we will never ever stay there again. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place because of their terrible customer service and how rude they are! Happy to spend my money somewhere with excellent customer service, plenty of places around there and happy to give another resort in Chelan a chance! read more

This review is for restaurant. We had breakfast and there were only 2 other tables of people which should have been a clue. Anyway my hubby had bacon eggs and potato's and coffe he said the bacon was the best he has had in along time. I ordered eggs potato and ham and my potatoes had so much pepper on them I sent them back because I can't do pepper well we were done eating when the potato's or should I say square French fries came well hell I was done eating and thsoe were not the same kind of potatoes I got the first time they were deep fried squares and rq they did not take anything off the bill so pretty much I had scrambled egg and a piece of ham and my hubby breakfast for that price get a clue Campbell's no wonder you have no customers anymore I won't be back over priced and not the quality it used to have. I love going to Lake Chelan during the summer. The winter, well that's another story. However, during the summer, Campbells is a great place to stay. It is located on the southeastern tip of the lake right in the middle of town so you can walk to just about anywhere. They have their own private beach and docks. The Veranda restaurant is a great spot to eat and meet people. They have a van that will shuttle you around to different wineries or golf courses at no charge. Highly recommended. read more

We stayed last week and left on Saturday. My son accidentally left his wallet in the room safe. On Sunday we called to ask about locating the wallet but were told housekeeping was unavailable. No one else was able to help. Called back Monday, same thing happened. Called back Tuesday, same thing. Finally on Wednesday an employee named Jen said she would look into this. She called me back later that day and told me the housekeeping manager said no wallet was found. I can't imagine worse customer service. read more

Excellent beach and pool facilities (though towels always seemed lacking whenever I went to the pool!). Only three stars as the rooms a d service are not resort quality. For instance, the bathroom door squeaked a lot (making it impossible to use after the kids went to sleep). The shower head was meant for much shorter people (I'm only 5'9"!) Forcing that awful half squat to wash hair. The toilet clogged twice in our room. Service-wise, we were also disappointed. Our next door neighbor had plumbing issues around 11pm. Instead of just moving the family immediately, they decided to start hammering on the plumbing for the next half hour (waking our kids). Then after midnight, employees started loading heavy equipment in or out of a nearby storage room (and loudly discussing the recent plumbing issues) which again woke our kids. When we complained the next morning, the front desk just shrugged and rather dismissively said sorry. read more

Love stating here! The staff is so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Kevin at the front desk is so attentive and genuinely cares if you have a good day! Kimberly at the front deal is also very helpful. I had a chance to meet Carmela and she is extremely friendly and nice. The rooms and very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. I would recommend staying here when you're in town. Everything is within walking distance! read more

I just tried to make a BREAKFAST reservation. No deal unless I have at least a party of six. Seriously? You just chased me away forever.

2021 Mothers' Day Brunch was shockingly overpriced considering the quality of the food. 4 adults and 2 very young children (5 and 3) were charged $408 for food and drink that would have been fairly priced at 1/3 to 1/2 of that -- again, considering the quality of the food. Very, very disappointing. read more

We visit in fall "after the season" and love staying in the 2-bedroom 2-bathroom cabin which has a small kitchenette. It's very cozy with fireplace. TV in living room and only 1 of the bedrooms so know before you go if that matters to you. Wi-fi is so so but they delivered the Seattle Times to the door step Sat morning which was nice. Red Apple Grocery and Safeway both easy walking distance as well as lots of shops and restaurants. A cozy place for a weekend away. They also have a big convention business and would make for a good business retreat center. read more

Amazing we have been going here for years I love this place soooo much and Sandra if u see this wassup

Campbell's is an iconic little slice of Chelan heaven, but I must say that the place and furnishings need an update. We had planned to stay two nights, but reduced it to just one night after seeing the hoards of people hanging out and walking throughout the resort without any facial coverings. Other hotels I've stayed at since Covid have been operating at a reduced capacity and put protocols in place to enforce mask wearing, added hand sanitizing stations throughout the vicinity, etc. Campbell's did have a hand sanitizing station at the front desk but I didn't see any in the hallways or near the entrance or exit to elevators etc. Checkin is supposed to be at 4 but our room was not ready until 4:45pm. We unloaded our stuff and made our way to the lower first floor to our room. We had lots of luggage so took the elevator. The smell was in the waiting area where the elevator is located is terrible and then you get in the elevator and it's even worse. The first floor hallway is dingy and the carpet needed a very thorough vacuuming. There were water stains all over the ceiling tiles as you walked down the hall just adding to that feeling of "dirty". Upon entering the room things were ok. We've stayed at Campbell's before and my expectations weren't that high, and I know it's not the Four Seasons, but the room really needs an update to the carpet, bathroom sink (all rusted) cabinets are all scratched up etc. we did not open the door to the outside but we found 5 bugs in my kids bed. The first was a dead mosquito on the pillow, the second was a spider crawling across the white duvet and the others looked like no see ums or something similar which I know is just part of the chelan experience, but 5 bugs in the bed is enough to give anyone the heebie beegies. The queen mattresses we're so soft and every time you moved the entire mattress moved making for less than a stellar nights sleep, not to mention the horrible creaky floor that sounded like there was a herd of buffalo walking above us which went on until 3am. Based on the above we decided to cut our trip a day short and check out early. When I checked out and the front desk person asked how it was I kindly told her about the bugs, the mattress, the horribly squeaky floor and partying above us until 3 am and I literally didn't even get an "oh I'm sorry" or "I'll talk to housekeeping about the bugs etc " literally no acknowledgment. Customer service at this hotel is lacking. When our room was ready almost an hour late I asked if we could get an extra hour (this is before we'd been to the room) for a late checkout to make up for it and was told checkin in isn't til 4 and we don't guarantee your room will be ready then. So why say checkin is at 4 then? Anyway, I used to love Campbell's but they need some serious customer service training, a complete interior remodel when you're charging $400 night, replace the stained tiles, vacuum the carpet in the halls, work on the nasty smells, practice better covid protocols and enforce the ones that are law such as wearing masks in the lobby and common areas such as hallways. Sorry to say I won't be back and if you are staying here be sure to get a top level floor unless you want to hear a heard of buffalo walking above you all night (PS I was wearing earplugs and it was still that bad). read more

So glad to have made it back to Campbell's after being away the last year. Looking forward to many stays this summer.

I will never be back. Take their description of "family resort" with a grain of salt. If your children make a lick of noise outside of their absurd "quiet hours", plan to be harassed consistently (multiple calls per morning) from the front desk. I'm sorry your quiet hours are 10pm-9am but my children wake up at 6:30am. Apparently we aren't welcome there with children under the ages of 5. To top it off, the "owner" Art Campbell had the audacity to suggest that I should just "try to quiet my children down". He then continued to push how they were a "family resort" and that they understand children make noise but yet his front desk continued to call me reminding me that children are supposed to be quiet at his resort. "Let me buy you breakfast at our resort's restaurant" - his way of getting my children out of the room to not disturb his precious other guests. LET ME EMPHASIZE - IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD!!!!!! read more

Came for Memorial Day weekend, for the first time. The staff was uniformly fantastic..friendly, helpful, smiling, attentive and welcoming. The housekeeping was outstanding, too. The room was beautifully cleaned every day. The pools are nice, and pretty warm...too bad the weather didn't cooperate fully! The view was beautiful, the beach sandy and fun.. My kids had a ball, and so did I. The food in the restaurant was good, too. Campbell's is in a great location, close to Safeway and some fun little shops. Bring your fishing pole, if you like to fish! There were some impromptu baseball games on the beach, in which my 8 year old was happy to participate. The only complaint I have was a lack of nicer weather, and I wish the little kitchen in our room had a cook top. We will be back! read more

What a GREAT resort. The view was beautiful. We stayed here celebrating our Anniversary/ End of Summer!! The hotel staff even helped me customize a gift basket for our room with a cake, wine and glasses etc. My son had a great time swimming and paddling around the lake. Every morning, I was very impressed at the hotel staff working hard to keep the grounds clean. From raking the sand to wiping and lining up the chairs. Plus, cleaning the pools, raising umbrellas. GREAT Job to the staff at Campbell's Resort!!! What a Wonderful family friendly, family ran resort. Will defiantly stay again. read more

More of a party place then a place for families. They do not offer continental breakfast, they do not allow floaties in the swimming pool (which is hard when you have young kids who can't swim) and the hot tub was always so packed with younger adults partying that there was no chance of taking a kid in there. The parking was also terrible on the premises (which again is hard with young kids and many suitcases) since they share it partly with the pub and the bistro and the business center. We had a terrible nights sleep on the uncomfortable beds and pillows. The younger adults partying under us also threw bottles up to our balcony more than once, which is just rude. The view was nice in some areas but from our room we had a nice view of a couple trees. The wifi was also super slow because of the volume of people using it, I assume. Probably won't stay here again. read more

This place is a hole. Examples from my 3 day stay: Toilet overflowing on my arrival. Called front desk, guy promptly appears with plunger and walks around in shit water tracking it all over the carpet. Gross. Guess I'll wear flip-flops for the rest of the time here. My room is on the bottom floor; family of 18 above me. Not particularly loud or noisy, but they have small children who like to run around. Ceiling is paper thin. No chance of sleeping. If by some misfortune you end up at this place demand a top floor room or you will not sleep at all. Requesting late checkout. All I want is an hour. Now I understand sometimes this isn't possible... I call the night before, they tell me they don't know yet if they can give it to me, to call back at 7am. I call back at 7am. They tell me to call back at 7:45. I call back at 7:45, they tell me no because someone has a reservation. Which is information they had yesterday. So why make me call three times? Sure the view is nice. You're right on the lake. But there are lots of hotels on the lake. AND there are lots of lakes! F--- this place. Would not ever go back. read more

The Resort is lovely. We arrived on Friday afternoon and the grounds are as beautiful as they were the last time we were here 2 years ago. The beaches are pristine, the rooms immaculate, and the pools are a sheer delight. We came here specifically for the Crab Boil on 10/1/22- we are celebrating our anniversary. On Saturday morning (10/1/22) we were awakened before 9:00 am by hydrofoil races. In case you are unaware, these boats are extremely loud and emit noxious gas fumes. The race (noise/fumes) is relentless and began slightly before 9:00 am and is still going strong at 4:39pm. My husband looked up the race site which stated that if we mentioned the race we would receive a discount on our room. When booking we were not advised of the race nor of the potential discount. We've not been able to enjoy any outdoor activities all day. I asked at the front desk why we were not advised of the races: I was advised it was not their policy to advise guests of the potential for ear-shattering noise all day. I asked about out the discount: I was advised it was not their policy to advise guests of potential discounts. I was offered apologies. I asked if we could possibly be compensated in some way and I was offered 50% off at the restaurant - I stated we were here for the crab boil and would not be eating at the restaurant. After considerable banter, I was offered 10% off our room for 1 night, although we are booked for 2 nights. I stated that I did not really think that was fair: I received numerous apologies. Amazingly, I was very calm and spoke quietly during my conversation with the front desk personnel as I did not see a need to rant and voice my disappointment to anyone else who might be in the lobby. I am extremely disappointed and surprised the Campbell's Family Resort would be so callous to their guests. Sadly, I must give this usually lovely resort such a bad review. I feel management was not transparent when we booked the room and am quite amazed at the disregard for guests' well-being management exhibits. read more

Love the resort. We have a great time when here. Many activities for adults and kids. Will definitely be back. Two recommendations though. The resort could do a better job managing COVID protocols. Too many beach chairs way to close to each other. Very few guests wearing masks; perhaps more reminders. Also, don't allow groups to "reserve" beach chairs by placing towels over them. Lots of open but "reserved" chairs means lots of families not able to enjoy the beach. This needs to be better managed. read more

I was very disappointed in this resort. I expected so much more. The only pro are the amazing Lake views from the rooms. Cons: the rooms weren't cleaned well. The cleaning staff was not thorough or detail oriented at all. They did not replenish toilet paper and tissues when we ran out. Staff are untrained and unhelpful. The lights are in a setting to turn off in the evening. So if your planning to enjoy time on your room balcony, remember a flashlight because you will be in the dark, and consequently harassed by bats. Coffee filters were not changed and the bath was not cleaned daily. The glasses in the room were not replaced, they were rinsed and placed back on a table. When you ask for assistance, the staff is unable and unenthusiastic to help because they don't have a clue. I would recommend researching all hotel options before selecting Campbells for your next Lake Chelan visit. read more

Sat at the bR and had great friendly service. We ordered two salads to go and they were awesome. We will definitely be back.

The service at this hotel is lacking. We checked in with some friends in the afternoon for a wedding and they put us in two separate buildings on opposite ends of the resort. When I requested to be moved they stated the resort was full and wouldn't even accommodate a request to put us in a room on the third floor. A friend who arrived 3 hours after us was put in a room on the third floor. Now that doesn't make any sense to me, it seems they pre-assign rooms and are not willing to make changes to accommodate any requests upon checkin. It seems an easy enough thing to do. I also think it's weird that not all wedding guests were put in the same building, it's quite inconvenient. Other than that the rooms are pleasant and mediocre. The bathroom is incredibly small and the sink are even smaller. The closet has a curtain for a door. While most balconies seem very spacious our balcony in building 4 was quite small and cramped due to it being slanted. My recommendation if you stay here is to request to be in buildings 2 or 3. Building 4 is what I have deemed the reject building. There is also no consistency between rooms and rates. We paid the same exact rate as our friends in building 2 and their room was bigger and nicer than ours. The room itself was bigger, the bathroom and sink area were bigger and the balcony too. The location of the hotel is fantastic, the best part of the resort, you can walk to downtown for anything. read more

This place is set on a beautiful part of the lake. When you look outside your room, the view is amazing. When you look inside your room, you wish you were staying someplace else. Old room and the space needs some quality control. Uncomfortable rooms, everything is very old and I think it's overpriced. There was so much noise at night, each night we would wake up at 3 in the morning with people screaming. I felt like I was staying at a cheap motel. I would never come back here again. The restaurant is not good either. Our family checked out before our last day. Also, if you do end staying here bring your own utensils for cooking. Maybe even your own pans, if you can, because what's available is old and chipping directly into the food you are cooking. They say they have bbq's but again be prepared for old and dirty bbq's. read more

Was warned by another visitor that Campbell's has thin walls. They were right. Can to stay for our anniversary. Room, resort and views are beautiful. Fabulous 50s/60s room decor, but someone above us stomped around (they were probably just walking) seemingly nonstop. WiFI: HORRIBLE!! Kept disconnecting, and when it does work: SLOW! Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend staying overnight here. Which is sad because we REALLY thought this might be an annual spot to come to when we saw the resort and our room. And Billy at the front desk started out nice on phone but got "that tone" in his voice when asked to repeat a phone number for a 3rd time. No guest ever wants to hear "that tone" at these prices! read more

My daughters and I just completed a short road trip from Seattle to celebrate the start of their Summer break. We stayed at Campbell's Resort as a last minute decision and glad we did. I've grown up in Washington and and have passed by Campbell's Resort numerous times during trips to Chelan but have never stayed there. The Resort is clean and inviting, the grounds/beaches are manicured, the rooms are spotless and the staff is polite and welcoming. We only stayed one night but I can definitely see returning with my family for a longer stay. I will admit that we were still very early in the summer season and I'm sure that the Resort gets very busy but they have a great location and facility. The only downside we experienced was our dinner at the onsite Campbell's Pub (see my separate review). This is the reason for deducting a star in rating but is easily solved by dining elsewhere. read more

Stayed here recently and really enjoyed it with only a few hiccups. Made a reservation for 2 single kayaks. Well, so did someone else and they only have 2. So we took a double and had a great time. It was free with our room, so well worth the effort. Also, they were usually out of towels by the pool but asked that you not bring towels down from the room. Their pool towels were really old & small. But the room was nice, the staff friendly, the beach lovely and the chaise lounges plentiful. The kitchenette was not real well appointed, but adequate. This is the 2nd time we stayed at Cambell's resort, and we still love it. Convenient location, right next to downtown. Safeway and Starbucks are just across the street if you want to stock up or get your morning coffee. The park is just a stroll away for your jogging needs. Service is top: - morning newspaper, recycling conscious (they have wooden bins placed in many places for you to recycle the papers) - Both times we didn't stay at the Aug/Sep months so not sure how it compares when it's crowded, but when we were there the ground staff were very courteous and helpful. - they provide good control so outsiders are generally not a problem Play: kid friendly. The beaches are very clean, they rearrange the chairs and clean up the ground each night. There is an air pump so you can fill up all your inflatables. You can rent canoes and paddle all day.
