Arrived late after fighting snow on the roads. Check in was closed so we called the number on the door and Johnny from Security showed up. We explained we were late and he took us to our unit and let us in. He mention to go up in the morning and check in and pick up our keys. We started to unpack our car and Johnny offered to help us get our gear up the stairs to our 2nd floor unit. He must have made 8 trips up and dow the stairs. We have been timeshare owners at Wapato Point since 1991 and the service provided by Johnny was totally unexpected and very appreciated. What a magnificent way to start our vacation. I would give no reviews if that was an option. Watch out for the front desk. They are horrible. Unfriendly, rude, confrontational, unhappy, and dishonest. They will blind bill you after you leave for extra cleaning in your unit when you left the room perfect. The vacuum didn't work in our unit and I called and told them that but then they still charged me $250 for a extra cleaning fee due to some hair on the rug. I disputed it with my bank and WON. but they still have a balance on my account that I have to pay to stay there again. This whole dispute took 9 weeks of calling and figuring it out. Waste of my time. Watch out for Terri and Bridget (really wonderful managers at Wapato Point) You will love them lol. As far as resorts in the Chelan area go, you absolutely can't beat wapato point. They have several beaches, pools, tennis courts, volleyball courts, kayak/canoe/paddle board/boat/jet ski rentals... also huge lists of activities for kids to participate in. We love coming here as there is just a ton to do for a family and the convenience of the location is unmatched. Would give 5 stars but the rooms are in need of remodeling, especially old fabric chairs/drapes/cushions being replaced. read more

The resort itself was beautiful views but the condos are outdated and weren't very clean, especially for the price of 3 nights. My sis in law saw a what we thought is a flea in the bed and when we tried to call front desk it went to voicemail, walked up there and it was closed. I would HIGHLY SUGGEST looking elsewhere. We have owned for over a year and have had numerous issues in dealing with the front office. From payment issues... To being paid different amounts than what we were told, to renting out our units only to find out afterward that someone backed out and we were never notified (costing hundreds of dollars). With the rise of Airbnb and other opportunities, I would encourage you to seek other options if you are considering purchasing. Our experience is that they are more than happy to keep their share while avoiding opportunity for responsibility or even good customer service. All that to say... Great place to stay... Great place to spend a long weekend any time of the year. If you are not too fond of the cold, then the winter months might not be the best idea. This area does get its share of snow. We had a very relaxed weekend on the property. This is a sprawling resort with condos that have a charcoal bbq grill on a semi-covered deck or patio. A number of the condos have a view of the lake which is very picturesque in the mornings. We spent nearly a week here during December and were greeted with snow midway into our stay. The resort staff do a good job of clearing the roadways in the resort with snow plows and de-icing the entrances to the condos. There are multiple options to spend time at the resort like taking a dip in the lake in summer and other water activities. There are multiple pools and hot tubs located conveniently near the residential areas and also a tennis court. During winter, you a selection of board games available at the reception, renting out a movie and also chilling out at the restaurant on the property. They have a wine cellar as well and the wine tasting is complimentary. They also have a temporary skating rink as well during winter. It would be great if there were more pots and pans in the kitchen especially if you are there for a long stay. read more

We have always wanted to stay here and use our timeshare. We headed over a little early hoping for an early check in. However we found out when calling to see if we could check in early that check in time was 6:00!!! Way later than any other place we've stayed. Needless to say no early check in. Now we find the resort's hot tub was closed and apparently they only have one! This place is pretty big to only have one! Our room is extremely dated and the carpet is filthy. Wallpaper peeling off, limited housewares. Our room has spiders, spider webs everywhere. The AC didn't work and the upsTairs has only one small window no fan = very hot stuffy room for sleeping. Downstairs room had fresh blood on the sheets!! Blood was on the cabinets & carpet. So unsure what took 8 hours to clean! We complained but they only did very little. Changed the sheets but that was about it. Very sad as the resort is beautiful! read more

Not ADA friendly Did not get to see anything other than the check-in desk as the employees at the resort refused to clear my son's service animal for registration. My adult son has psychiatric disabilities whose conditions are exacerbated when being separated from his dog. We are simply unable to travel without a service dog for my son. I did my homework, checked the WA state laws and federal ADA laws. Front desk staff, with cameras recording, claimed we had to provide their manager a doctor's note from my son's doctor within 24 hours, otherwise the dog must leave the premises. What the front desk employee stated, corroborated by two onlooking employees, conflicted with the resort's pet policy posted online AT THAT TIME. I have waited nearly six months for this company to simply refund us the cost of losing our reservation $206, and an unexpected hotel stay in Wenatchee after leaving the registration office at a frigid 7PM, Sunday night, end of November $109. Their representative called me once for a discussion and failed to call me back as promised after discussing a resolution with the managers, clearly hoping to ignore the situation. $315 may not be an issue to the good people of Wapato Point Shores but we saved up to make the trek north from the Portland metro for some birthday snow scenery and Leavenworth beauty. I grew up the daughter of a 20+ year military paralegal, not a litigious person, do not wish to bring about frivolous lawsuits but how can this resort not see their responsibility in this situation? read more

8/10 overall for Wapato Point Resort. My time here was free, so I can't judge based on price vs. quality, but I can say that I very much enjoyed my 4 day stay here. I have to agree with the other reviewer's on the subject of check in and check out times. 6pm check in with a 10am checkout feels absolutely ridiculous, and almost feels like they're cutting your vacation and entire day short. If you arrive early, plan on finding other activities to occupy yourself before checking in. The unit I stayed in had yet to be remodeled, so it lacked the nicer room amenities, and the cleanliness left much to be desired. The view however, made up for any other complaints. The accommodations of the resort were great, and I'd imagine, perfect for families. The pools are fairly private, and even when the area is full, didn't feel crowded or stuffy. We brought our canoe and were happy to learn we could dock it there for free. My only criticism is that the grounds and accommodations are not the best as far as accessibility goes. Almost nothing was ADA compliant, and the steep walkways were hard for my mother to continue going up and down from our room to the beach. read more

Go back at 6 pm. Told that although they "try" to have rooms ready by 6 pm, there is "no guarantee" that the room will be ready by the advertised 6 pm (!!!!) check in. Back in our car waiting. Wapato Point is a perfect place to stay with family and friends. Bringing the kids? No problem! You are on 116 acres of fun! Beautiful sandy beaches to build sand castles and lay in the sun, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, swing sets, playgrounds, putt putt golf, and much more. Shoreline watercraft rentals is on site for boat and jet ski rentals and the kiosk has paddlebaords and canoes. You seriously don't have to leave. To top it off you are on the lake! It's amazing, love this place! During the day in summer there is a burger shack open on the beach and at night you can walk up to the winery and restaurant or into town. So much fun! Family has been owners here for longer then I've been alive, and I always love coming to the Point for a few weeks every summer. So much to do on the grounds you will never be bored! Many lake activities available on site including; boating, kayaking, sea dos, and fishing. If you don't have your own equipment or water craft, they can be rented on location. If you are looking to keep dry, check out the tennis and basketball courts, mini golf, or many biking trails. Take advantage of any one of the seven swimming pools if the lake is a little to cold for you. Full kitchens and BBQ's in every unit are a nice touch, and makes cooking each night a breeze. I love coming to Chelan every summer and this is a great property to spend a week or two. Highly recommended! read more

OK, so my family and I come to Lake Chelan once every year. And USUALLY, we have a great time w/ no issues when we stay at either Peterson's waterfront resort or Wapato point resort. However this year was a little different. Before I get into the full story, I just want to be clear, that the front desk staff that I spoke to about this were very nice and seemed to take my concern to heart. So our stay at wapato was going well, until we decided to all go to the pool. Their was a "local" woman who was very rude and aggressive to us, the moment we came in. She never explained why she was being so nasty to us but she kept saying "you cant be here! you cant be here!" I told her to take her attitude and shove it because we were not gonna let her stupidity ruin our fun so we got into the pool and ignored the crap out of her, which seemed to make her more angry. So after we had some fun in the pool, I go to change back into my clothes and I see this same woman going through my belongings! I immediately called the front desk and made them aware of this and all they said they could do was relay this all to management when they were in (this happened on Christmas eve and no management was in that day) All this to say, I think it would be in wapato's best interest to do something about this woman because it really wouldn't be good for business to have some disturbed woman harassing your guests/customers who are just trying to enjoy the amenities. Again, The staff seemed to take my concerns seriously but I have yet to hear back from them in regards to this issue, which gives me pause to consider staying with them again or recommending them to my friends who are looking for a fun staycation. If it wasn't for the unstable "local" woman and the staff not really doing much of anything about it, I would have given them a 5 star review hands down. read more

We stayed in the yacinde Ct and the condo was very clean. And updated. I did see people state that some of the units are outdated. This one wasn't. The people above us woke up at 6am everyday (7days) and they kept on walking it seemed like non stop lol but it wasn't too big of an issue. Jet ski and boat rentals are too pricey here. We were considering renting a jet ski from chelan it is cheaper there. We will be coming back here. We got a really good deal for our 7 night stay. BUT I wouldn't pay its regular price per night ever. It's way to ridiculous. read more

First of all, yes some rooms are way out of date. I think the Lakeside an beach units are the best. I personally don't mind the decor but I know others do. We have loved coming here for years but the place is be getting run down. The worst of it is the goose feces. They have ignored it so literally it is everywhere. Everywhere! You cannot walk or play on the beach or field or anywhere without stepping or touching it, no exaggeration. When you talk with the office they are oblivious and chalk it up to they are wild animals. Wold animals that can give my family listeria, e-coli and all other sorts of paricites. Candidly, buyer beware if you stay here. I don't think I will be coming back with my family ever again which is sad because I had been coming here for like two decades or more. read more

I'm not sure where to start. There are two movies that come to mind regarding our stay here. Hot Tub Time Machine: the rooms look straight out of 1984, but that's kind of cool with the location and lake views. The amenities(mini golf, boat rentals) onsite are pretty cool too. Movie #2 is why I will never be back: Arachnophobia: Ho Lee Fuk! I rented a overpriced condo for a week with my wife, son, two nephews, and about 200 spiders. Housekeeping just leaves the spiders and their webs all over the place. They don't bother with spider webs or spiders in the corners between walls and ceilings. We literally dealt with about 200 spiders in just 6 days here. I won't be coming back. read more

Ok, the good first. Location is wonderful, especially for Manson wine tasting. (Although make sure your lake view actually has lake. If the water is low, as it is this time of year, you may need to go outside to find the water.) In addition, staff was super friendly and helpful. We needed help with the TV (they had a new system) and maintenance came quickly and solved the problem fast. There is a spacious kitchen, which we didn't really use, but I could see the benefit for a family staying longer. Now, the bad. The room we were in is SORELY in need of renovation. (423 in the Ellowee section). The bedding was super thin (blankets that don't warm at all) made of cheap material and the bedspread was not only ugly, but made me afraid to touch it. Even before renovation, they should just KILL the "basket décor" - baskets hanging on the wall (even in the bathroom??!) and empty baskets on the coffee table - and baskets filled with fake flowers. Yikes! I watch enough Hotel Impossible to know that these things are germ and dust breeders. And truly unnecessary. (Just throw them out, please. Just do it.) I kept my socks on as the carpet was worn thin and felt dirty. Id' stay here IF I could specify a renovated room (I heard a rumor there are some) and IF there were absolutely no other options. And at $125 a night, I felt a bit ripped off. read more

In terms of location, amenities and activities, I would rate this resort 5 stars. As far as the actual room is concerned, (I can only speak for the room I personally stayed in, not sure if there are better ones) which was a 1 bedroom loft for $250 per night, the price I paid was a rip off. The room was extremely old with outdated furniture, lights and everything in it. I expected for that price, to have a more modern day room that was cozy and had new things in it. The front desk staff was very friendly. We were originally told that check in time was 4pm, which it is not, its actually 6:00 pm with check out at noon. But they worked very hard to get the room ready quick as we had food that was melting in the car. These are condo's, not hotel rooms, so don't expect your room to be cleaned if you are staying more than 1 night. You stay there however long you are staying and then the room is cleaned when you leave. You are responsible for washing all dishes used (which are provided in all rooms with utensils), dumping all your trash and stripping all used bed sheets & towels and leaving them on the floor in the bathroom before you check out. If you are someone who is expecting everything catered and done for you, this is probably not the place for you, it does require some additional tasks to be done before you leave. I really enjoyed the location. It was private, lots of trees for shades and a ton of activities. They have an Olympic sized indoor swimming pool and a bunch of outdoor pools which my kids enjoyed. You can also rent fishing rods and they have small ponds for fishing, putt-putt golf, swings & slides, as well as a 3rd party boat/jet ski/kayak rental right on the shore that you can walk to. I was very surprised after reading through some brochures, that they even have local babysitting services should you have children that you cannot take with you to go wine tasting. All in all, you will not be bored staying here - lots of activities to enjoy with your loved one and/or with your family & kids. But be prepared to fork out a little more than you're used to if you want a lavish room. read more

I had booked a 3 night stay at Wapato Point for my birthday. A few days before the dates, the fire smoke was so thick I couldn't see across the street in Seattle and there was a fire raging in Chelan, Washington. I called Wapato Point and confirmed the smoke was just as bad there and the nearby fire was still happening. I was advised if we cancelled, our refund would not be refunded. Additionally, we could not apply our deposit to another future date. Did the Wapato person realize there is only one way out of Wapato Point in case the fire spread? I'm not taking my chances and I'm not going to pay their prices to stay inside because of the smoke. I'll try disputing the charge with VISA. read more

This resort is a family oriented resort to the fullest!!! The resort is quiet, safe, around nearby wineries, and also, by over priced restaurants!!!! This resort has lots of activies for families. We have been coming to Wapato for years. My wife's family has a timeshare condo but we booked our recent trip through RCI.com. The condos are all very well-maintained, although many have not been updated since the 1980's (as another Yelper wrote); the appliances are almost all updated (TV/DVD/Washer-Dryer/Stove) It is a bit of a throwback but that is sort of the charm. Overall the accommodations are good but not fancy. The views are amazing in any season. It gets crazy cold in the winter (indoor heated pool is a plus). Summer is incredible with boating, tennis, field sports, and multiple outdoor pools. Feels like camp and ideal for families. Also, free wifi in every unit is a HUGE plus. read more

We are staying at this resort using our timeshare points. Overall this resort is nice, a lot to do, definitely kid oriented so if your looking for an adult only get away I'd suggest somewhere else. The rooms are overall clean. However, the chairs in the living space look super nasty, stained all over and smell funky, so that was a gross bummer...Renting boats, jet skis and paddle boards was a breeze and very fairly priced. The outdoor pool isn't anything special. Everyone who works here who I've come in contact with have been very friendly! So besides a few unpleasant looking chairs this resort has been great for us! This is just to add to my first review (Sydney). Housekeeping never came the 5 days we stayed and upon close inspection I'm not even sure they have any. It looks like the last time share literally went for $1 and that's pretty in line with what you would expect. Since there wasn't any laundry facility, other than a coin operated store about a mile away, we had to put up with dirty towels and linens for 5 days. To add insult to injury, it appears that they turn off the wi-fi @ 10am on Monday mornings. We ended up taking out all the garbage, stripping all the beds, washing dishes, etc. All of these things might be fine for some people, as long as they are factored into the cost. While we did make some nice memories with the boys, we will certainly never return here. We will also never ever stay at a time share again. Perhaps it's just this one, but the run down state of the establishment was just really depressing. You can tell that in its heyday the place was probably really nice. read more

To be honest, we had a lot riding on this 3-day weekend and this was not the typical experience. Spent the year planning a gathering for friends from western WA, California, and Montana. Weary from our long (and very) long drives, we arrived to find that after booking through a third party (Vacasa), the unit we had reserved was already occupied by a bachelorette party. A two-hour check-in process followed where the resort tried to accommodate us. Instead of one condo that could accommodate 10 with immediate outdoor pool and hot tub access, we were split into 2 two-bedroom condos, with one group having to check out and back into another unit after the first night in order for us to have access to an outdoor pool. There was a nearby pool for the second 2 nights, but no outdoor hot tub access at all. On top of these inconveniences, front desk staff at several points told different members of our party that we had a balance due, despite this having all been worked out on that long first night. Decor: Late 80s corporate in two units, dark with an excessive amount of decorative baskets in the other. Condition: Mediocre. Winery: Mediocre. The Syrah was simple and tasty though. Location: Literally everything else we visited in Manson was more entertaining/comfortable to be at, so it is definitely in a good spot. Amenities: I'm sure it would have been great if we got the unit we originally booked but was not impressed with the broken laundry machines in the laundry room or lack of outdoor hot tub access. Check-out: 10 am is a terrible check-out time, for one. At least if I stay at a cheap joint I can stay 'til 11 or 12! Furthermore, after shuffling around 3 different units over the 3 days, I accidentally left a box with my favorite jewelry and a box of high-end makeup in my unit. We called and spoke with different staff about this about 4-5 times, each time told they would call back but never did. 2 days later they state the items were not found. Their official policy is that while they are not responsible for lost items, once an item is "found" they will keep it for 30 days to be claimed. My suspicion is that there is an unofficial finders-keepers policy in effect as well, as another friend left jewelry in a different unit and it was also never "found." read more

Poor quality merchandise. When asked why it doesn't work they said 'oh yeah, none of them really work' and did not provide compensation. Electronics didn't work and outside light was burnt out so we had to unpack and unload the car in the dark. Outdated style. We still had fun but there were many frustrations. read more

I had to cancel my stay because of the surrounding wild fires and extreme smoky conditions. I asked to change my reservation to other dates, but was told that was not possible. I explained my husband and I could not come there with all of the smoke but they did not care. I was charged for half of the 5 day charge anyway. read more

My family has owned a share of a beach unit here for close to 28 years, so Chelan and Wapato Point holds a special place in my heart. On a recent vacation, my boyfriend and I made a few stops into the kiosk for various entertainment - tie dye shirts, paddle boating and mini golf. Every time we interacted with the staff, they were very helpful and accommodating to childless adults. One staff member in particular, Jenny, was so friendly and went out of her way to help retrieve something that we dropped in the lake while trying to get out of our paddle boat. We wanted to write her a special feedback form but it slipped our mind before leaving. We look forward to many more years at Wapato Point and thank all of the staff who make it fun! read more

We just got back from staying in the Lodge condos. It was a straight from the early ninety's but the size, and the location of the building was wonderful. We stayed in a 3 bedroom. We really liked the little kids tricycle and wagon at the activities shack was FREE. I just couldn't beleive it. The staff was very friendly too. We went down to the shack with the idea of renting 2 paddle boards, but about 1p minutes into paddle boarding we switched one paddle board to a kayak. The girl working made it easy to switch and got us right back out on the water. Downfall, at the front desk, you can rent games, but they charge you, even when you bring them back. Lots of flies, like everywhere! We rented a jet ski and felt it was a fare price and a great machine, we rented the 2015 edition. read more

I finally spoke to someone in Florida about the lake chelan rental. Still have not heard from them about our miserable rental. Never again will I use Vacasa home rentals. read more

First time we stayed at Wapato point resort. This review is specific towards check in. We arrived at 5:53pm. Check in is supposed to be at 6pm. We were told to wait and we would be called. When they didn't call us back we checked again at 6:15 and they sent an email to the crew to get status. We were told it would be possibly ready at 6:25pm. So others have checked in ahead of us and others were also not able to check in. At 6:30 room still wasn't ready. They probably shouldn't call this place a resort. Resorts don't make people wait beyond a half an hour after an already ridiculous 6:00 pm check in when checkout is at 10:00 am. read more
