This was a great place to stay if you don't want to stay in Chelan. We were right down the street from so many places! The lake was a 7 minute walk away! There was a winery right across the street from us. They had a pool which you can reserve time slots for and I didn't have any problems with getting a slot. Due to covid, all their guest services was handled through text messages which lets all admit it with technology now a days it was the greatest! Didn't have to always go to the front desk for anything! Their front desk did have allot of things you can buy just in case you forgot items (like cups!) Very good, so far as acceptable accommodations with many amenities ranging from frig and microwave to a pool and picnic/BBQ area (if you're staying when a party-hearty crowd is, you'll have partying into the night) but my one complaint is that they don't provide daily housekeeping. I stayed three nights and near the end of my first full day, I went to the front desk to ask why my rm. hadn't been made up yet. They said, they don't make up the rm. on a stayover. If you want clean towels, you have to take the dirty ones down to the front desk and get clean ones yourself. It also means if you have trash to take out, you have to do it yourself. Your sheets don't get changed and your bathroom doesn't get scrubbed. I've heard of "daily housekeeping" being optional, but I've never before encountered a situation when it's just not done. There's also some weird booking practices, such as needing to book multiple nights on certain dates. Other than that, I found it this place one of the best options in the Manson-Chelan area. read more

As a joke initially, I listed in special accommodations to have ice cold Mountain Dew in my room. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! My daughter and I booked a trip to go see her friend that moved to the area. I knew I could not come up with her on Thursday because I had to work so I included her name in my reservation and sent her with my credit card and drivers license. They allowed her to check in on Thursday. By the time I was able to leave work, it was dark and I didn't want to drive through the pass. Got a welcome text and thank you for checking in so ASSUMED everything was fine. The next morning they knock on my daughter's car door and told her that if I do not show up, they need a credit card from her. Mind you, mine was already charged both charges (the deposit and the room charge). She let them know that I was coming and that I was just having some car issues. I sent them a text right away asking what was going on (11:34am). I received a call right away saying that they were looking out for me and wanted to make sure I was safe from fraud. I let them know that she has the actual card and my actual ID so there is no fraud. The girl continued to talk about the card and fraud. I asked to speak to the manager or owner and she told me everything was fine and that they would just wait until I got there. Around 2pm my daughter returned to her room and she was LOCKED OUT! In the cold snow. I immediately called the front desk and spoke with the owners daughter. She again kept telling me that they are worried about fraud!! By this point I was in shock that instead of calling me or texting me, they locked her out of the room with all of her stuff inside. The woman then let me know that they have companies pay for their staffs rooms all of the time and that there was a form I could just sign allowing my daughter to use my card. Evidently all of the actual phone calls with me on the phone was not enough. If they had this form, why was I not told of this before they harassed my daughter? Worst hotel stay ever!! I really hope no one stays here and especially is treated the way my daughter was!! read more

This is a very simple hotel/motel but it's not tacky or dirty whatsoever. We went on a LivingSocial deal and when we arrived we were greeted by the super friendly front desk staff and promptly given the keys to our room. It was a really quick process because we all know how it can be at the front desk and they have you sign paper after paper after paper and then take forever to load your electronic keys. Part of the LivingSocial was a bottle of local wine which was quite good, cookies, and several coupons to try the local vineyards and artisans. No sooner than when we got there, we literally tossed our bags in the room and headed out to some of the wineries before they closed. This place is a short driving distance to quite a few places and not too far from Chelan. There is a casino a short way down the street as well. I found the bed quite comfortable after a long day of gallivanting around and sipping and eating cheese and having a nice dinner of Asian food at Bamboo Shoot in Chelan. There is a decently sized TV and a refrigerator just in case you need to store or chill some things before heading out again. On warmer days they have a huge outdoor fireplace/fire pit/barbeque area. It was really amazing and there appeared to be a large amount of grass just in case you need to walk your pets. I don't know if there are pet friendly but I'm sure someone at the front desk would be happy to answer your question or you might be able to see it on the website. When we woke up in the morning, there is a little café just across the parking lot that is just super cool to just be within in walking distance. The food and drinks were also very good. There is a pool too just in case you need to keep your kids occupied. The area seems very safe too. Obviously the Chelan area has a lot more to offer than just wineries but it's a great place to start and this lodge is a great place to stay while doing whatever you're doing in the area. Mountain View Lodge is always a great place to stay. The only reason we don't typically stay there is the location. While they are within walking distance of the water, there is no public beach area right close but there is one about a mile into town. But, if you know anyone staying at Wapato Point, it is right next to them and they have an endless amount of activities at Wapato. When we can't get in there we will usually start at Mountain View. The rooms are clean and updated, they have a great pool area, as well a really great covered bbq area for the guests to use. Every staff member I encountered was pleasant and very helpful. They are also one of the few places in Chelan or Manson that accepts pets. They had very good policies in place to deal with Covid restrictions to keep everyone safe without making it inconvenient for the guests. Mountain View is reasonably priced, the rooms are nice, and the staff was great. Another great trip to Chelan! I highly recommend Mountain View Lodge!! read more

So over priced. Outside doors, two stories with no elevator. Their idea of breakfast is an apple, cookie and coffee which is not served until after 7 am. Room is very dark and you can't open the blinds cause they open to the outside and people can see right in. No privacy. Red colored wash clothes, really??? It has four pages of rules. They told you what you couldn't do instead if what u could do. Could not get a copy of my bill the night before I checked out as I was leaving before 7 am and the front desk does not open until 7 am. Every year, we come to Chelan for a week in July. Last year (2013) we came to town early for a wedding and stayed at Mountain View for 2 nights. I love the Mountain View! Upon arrival there was a chalk board outside our room that said "welcome Erica, enjoy your stay". Nice touch! The rooms may be a tad outdated (not horrible!) but they are very clean!! The best part about the Mountain View, is the BBQ area and pool outside! It's nice to have the luxury of cooking your own meals when away from home! We got some turkey burgers at the local red apple and brought them back to grill! The MV supplies you with all the grilling tools you may need! It's nice to be so close to everything too! Plenty of wineries, restaurants and grocery store all in walking distance! We decided the extra 2 days was the way to extend our Chelan vacation, and booked a room for Fri-Sat night this year as well. Unfortunately we found out a week before our trip that our beloved dog had Cancer and not much time to live. With only 3 days notice, I called the MV and told them I had to cancel the reservation. They told me that I forfeit my deposit ($189) because of their strict cancellation policy during peak season. I understood, but asked that they let us come another time instead due to the sad circumstances. I got an email from the manager, and she sympathized with my situation of losing my beloved pet. She gave me a voucher to come stay within 6 months. That won me over! I was beside myself that she was so sympathetic and did that for me! I love the Mountain View and will always stay there!!!! Just stayed here for a wedding in one of the two bed newly renovated rooms on the second floor. The room was new and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. There is a nice pool and hot tub, along with a great outside area for grilling (many nice BBQs), small refrigerators (outside by the BBQs), tables, chairs, a fire pit, and a volleyball court which they have a volleyball to use. I probably won't be back to Chelan but if I did I'd return to this place. read more

The staff was great and super helpful. Rooms were clean. Loved that you can check out lawn games. Didn't give it 5 stars because the hot tub wasn't working and they never told us when we booked. Our room smelled like urine BIG TIME! Our dog was attacked by a dog on the premises (their dog). We still got charged for our one night (had to cut our stay short due to attack). Had to get this off my chest after nearly three years as our dog and I have never gotten over it. Now maybe we can have closure of that awful experience. We mentioned the problem to the front desk and they said, "yeah, that carpet was supposed to be cleaned last week but they never showed up due to a miscommunication". I don't know who gets a hotel room to NOT sleep in but the people in room 46 on 7/7 - 7/8 are such people. At checkout no one asked how my stay was. :( I'd be in a better mood if someone at least pretended to care about guests' experience. Mountain View Lodge was better than I expected it was going to be. First let me tell you about the staff, they were great! Any time we needed anything they were there in a heart beat. They were very kid friendly too, it was cute how they treated my 10 year old niece. They were very helpful and knowledgeable when ever I had questions about the town. The room we had was wonderful! It was room number 50, thats the big suite. The room was fairly large and it was supposed to accommodate 4 adults but we were able to get 5 adults and one child in there. Our suite was the only room with it's own patio and on that patio was a bbq grill. It was so nice to be able to grill our meals on that. For those unlucky guests who did not get room 50 the hotel had extra grills by the pool. Mountain View Lodge is a nice place to go to get away. It's quite and its walking distance to the lake. I suggest it for the city dweller who just wants to get away for a weekend. read more

I was very excited to stay here after nearly a decade. Our experience was alright. We stayed in one of the rooms that allowed pets. We were given bags for our dogs which included a toy, treats, poop bag and a towel which was super sweet as well as the pet policy. My first night while walking one of my pets, a dog from a room down the way charged out at us in the parking lot. The people had had their door propped open and the lady occupying it was calling to her dog and scolding it for being bad. She later brought out a bigger dog she had off the leash which was clearly against their policy. I did let the front desk know this to which they said they would try and monitor more closely. The next day another dog was roaming around with no leash and when I notified the desk they said thank you for letting us know. There was big piles of poo left from one of these dogs. But it was very disappointing to me that there was nothing being done about a policy being violated. Our room definitely did not appear as updated as the other rooms. The bed was super uncomfortable which made for a sleepless week for me and being pregnant, let me tell you made for a not so great vacay. We also noticed walking around barefoot that our feet turned black and had to keep our shoes on all the time. The doorknob to our room would also stick and we had to use keycard several times each time in order to gain entry. I let the front desk know the first day to please not have the housekeepers continue to sanitize our doorknob as it would disturb our dogs every time they walked by and jiggled the handle. He said he would talk to them but it continued to happen. Instead of the normal breakfast, they were offering a grab and go breakfast which was an awesome idea. They were individually packaged. I was disappointed to find a water, juice box and muffin however. Out of all things? Finally, at check out, I found out that although my payment had already been arranged while booking the room, that they had charged the first night stay to my credit card which I thought had just been put on file for damages and then told me I had a $700 balance. I had to call my family to have them talk to the front desk, only to find out that they had my family's card on file all along. $700+ was definitely not worth what we received for a 4 night stay. MVL will definitely have some competition once the brand new hotel opens down the road! read more

Found this place on Living Social and booked a room to get away from the city and find quiet place to unwind and study/work. Tucked away in small Manson, it was quite nice driving through Chelan, getting to see the view, and being able to see trees and rolling hills without a high rising building to block the view. Rolled into Mountain View Lodge and was greeted by some snow flurries and humble surroundings. All around, there seem to be a mom-n-pop coffee shop, uncle-n-aunt sammich store, gram-n-gramps winery; all intimate eateries in walking distance or a very short drive. Got to my room and was greeted by a small bag of coupons and a bottle of white wine. The coupons were varying percentage discounts to local shops, wineries, and restaurants, and the white wine... well, that was just downright nasty. I had about a glass and a half before I couldn't take it any more and let it sit on the counter for the rest of the stay. The room was small enough to feel homey and large enough to walk around, although the interior looked as though they hadn't remodeled or refurnished for some time. Still, it provided exactly what I needed, some peace 'n quiet... 'til about ten p.m. Unfortunately, I had booked the same weekend as some raucous party goers, so the nights were filled with drunkards making sure they were heard from every room and the Jacuzzi, making it hard to study or sleep. It also didn't help that the bed was lumpy, making me feel like I was sleeping on a hammock. There was a TV with a good selection of channels, so I ended up watching Gridiron Gang with the ever-beloved Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, so at least that helped. All in all, during the days, I got work done and got to enjoy the eateries around the area (Green Dot and Orchard Ovens being my favorites!), so I'd say it was a good stay, just unfortunate timing and mattress. read more

I also purchased my stay via Living Social. Another pair of girl friends purchased as well and we all met up for a weekend wine get away. Such an amazing deal that we could not pass up. The staff were super friendly - even went out of their way to call me right after I checked out to let me know I left my boots behind! The deal included a "continental breakfast" and continental it was. Nothing fancy, (oatmeal, cereal, waffles, pastries, yogurt etc) but did give us a little umph to get our day going. We got a bunch of great coupons for close by restaurants that came in handy as well. The room I stayed in was ground level - obviously they have started their remodel on the top level because the room my friends stayed in was much nicer...had bath robes, more space to hang stuff up, updated bedding and furniture. My room looked like it belonged to a totally different hotel. I look forward to coming back and seeing the finish product. All in all, we had a lovely time...just thought it was odd the two levels in the hotel were so different. You feel more like your visiting cool family than in a hotel. We make this a yearly visit every summer and the lodge is the focal point of our activities. I stayed here from a living social deal. When we walked into our room, they had a letter with all my coupons in an envelope with my name on the front. It definitely made me feel welcome! There were lots of discounts around town that they offered. They have homemade chocolate chip cookies at 11 am, and those are delicious. I also took advantage of their year round jacuzzi, which was very relaxing before bed. The room was a decent size, though it was kind of warm. They let us borrow a wine opener, and that was nice of them. I would definitely go back when I go to the Chelan area again! read more

If you are a family with kids avoid this place! They are not family friendly at all. Front desk called us at 8pm telling me to take my kids outside because a nice guy right below us needs to sleep. I booked a room online for a three night stay, only to be told by the girl who answered the phone that they wouldn't honor that and that I had to book four nights. I don't need four nights, I need three. Your website is the one that screwed this up, not me, you should honor the reservation. What a load of shit. Then when I asked to speak with the manager, she told me the manager was out of town, and she should be back in two weeks or so, probably. Seriously?! I also asked if she could contact her manager and have her call me, which she told me no. She was absolutely no help and left me completely frustrated without a solution. We just stayed for one night but this was a nice little hotel within walking distance to downtown Manson. Quick check in and friendly staff. This is a pet friendly hotel and was pleasantly surprised to receive a little goodie bag for our dog when we checked in which included a small towel, poop bags a tennis ball and some treats!! Very nice touch!!! I was also impressed that they said it was ok to leave pup in the room when we left as long as we left a phone number in case dog barked a lot. Most hotels say you can't leave them so this made us happy!! Room was nothing fancy but it was clean! Nice area out back with BBQ' S and a gas firepit. Pool and jacuzzi also. And a big field off to the side of hotel for dog to play. Inside the hotel there were many outdoor balls and games for anyone to use. Also board games. Continental breakfast consisted of cereals, oatmeal, waffles, juices and fruit. Perfect if you just want a lite breakfast. The only downfalls were that you could hear the people above you walking and talking and the curtains didn't block out all the light in the morning. Would be nice if they changed to some blackout curtains especially for summertime. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again. read more

On walking into our room we were met with a bottle of wine, cookies, a bunch of coupons (all worth using) and a cheese tray from Formage, a local cheese shop. We loved one of the cheeses, the store was closed and the front desk woman went the extra mile and called the shop, they told us "come on down"...Mountain View Lodge is well represented by its friendly staff. WE STAYED WITH A GROUP OF 16 AND SUPPOSEDLY GOT A GROUP RATE. IT WAS $159./ night plus taxes. We thought this had to be a lovely Lodge on the lake, never having been here before. It was on the street, about 2 levels quality above a Motel 6. But it was clean, and a good effort had been made at refurbishing the rooms, and greeting you warmly. Because it is old, the walls are thin, we could hear walking upstairs, showering and flushing noises. The room was sparsely supplied....no tissues, the one soap for 2 was about the size of a quarter, and there were no toiletry amenities. Coffee maker worked ok. The breakfast was apples, cold cereal, yucky instant oatmeal, and some waffle mix. Where is a decent breakfast for the rate we all paid? They could have provided yogurt, boiled eggs, and a toaster and it would have been so much better. There weren't any towel racks in the room, but there were hooks on the walls. We had 1 comfortable chair and one steel chair for the desk. We flipped a coin on who got the cold one. The restaurants in Manson are very limited, pizza, and bar & grill basically. Guess we got taken to the cleaners. What do you think? Then we find a lovely boutique hotel in Lake Chelan later that day with a view of the lake for $129/night. Go figure. read more

I stayed here to support a friend doing the Shore to Shore 1/2 marathon. They are pet friendly which is a plus, one downside is you can't leave your pup unattended in the room. What are you supposed to do with them when you go out for meals? My frenchie is crate trained (I leave him in his crate for his own safety) and he doesn't bark. I understand not all pets are so well behaved, however be reasonable. Take the owner's cell number and if there is a problem call them. If the owner doesn't respond in 1/2 hour charge them a fine. How hard can this be? I've been in many hotels where this was their policy and it works. The room wasn't anything special but it was nice and clean. They are a bit obsessive about their towels but I understand their point. Other downside, a 19 inch tube television and fuzzy cable. Luckily we weren't there to hang out in the room but in the evening it would have been nice to have something a bit bigger and more up to date. Great pool and awesome BBQ grills in a covered area to take advantage of. We enjoyed the evening hanging out in the covered pavilion playing cards and enjoying a bottle of wine. Nice place to walk your pet and they provide bags so you can pick up after your pet. I would likely stay here again considering it was a decent value, $105/night and easy access to Chelan and the great wineries in the area. Hopefully they will reconsider their pet policy and be more reasonable. No responsible pet owner would leave their pet in hot car so they need to have an option. Fortunately many of the wineries are pet friendly, however not all of them. read more

We reserved a non-smoking room months in advance. We showed up this past weekend and were put into a smoking room. The room reeked of cigarettes. They refused to move us and didn't offer us any type of refund. The hotel was fine otherwise but to spend a few hundred dollars on a non-smoking room and then get thrown in to a smoking one was very disappointing. I would expect the management to offer some type of refund in this situation. read more

After the front desk had called me to let me know how late they were open for check-in, i realized it.
