On my way home and I always stop in Frederick, MD, stay a day or two, enjoy the town, and buy my seafood here. Wonderful selection of fresh fish, shrimp, large blue crabs--everything!

    Jumbo crab cake to go

The cashier was pleasant and polite. Crab cake is so so. There is some type of sweet taste no bueno for me. They no longer make homemade Tatar sauce instead I was given a ketchup type packet of tartar sauce. Wtf! I just paid 20.00 for a single crab cake and u give me that! The cc has too much sweet breadcrumb filler for me. Looking for the ultimate crab cake out there.

This place has been my go to for so long i'm not sure why i haven't raved about this place yet! They have quiet a selection of seafood, my go to plate is the spiced shrimp platter. We decided to switch it up for dinner and chose a special of the day and to split a platter. Just the right amount to split down the middle with my partner, and they add scallops what a steal for $20. The only IF considered complaint i had was that in the crab sub i had a tad too much mayo for my liking. The roll was delicious as well help it all in without getting soggy which is a MAJOR plus. If you haven't please go check it out!

    Overcooked and mushy.

Today I purchased one dozen #1 male crabs from Cameron's Seafood in Frederick, MD. Since I am staying in a nearby hotel, I had them cook the crabs while I waited. After getting the bag of steaming crabs I was so excited to drive back to the hotel and dive in. Unfortunately, when I pulled the first crab and started opening it up to eat the meat was mushy and the flavor was bad. The crab was clearly WAY overcooked which is unfortunate because it had density and size. After that first crab there was no way I was going to start opening others because then I have no grounds to ask for a return on my invested funds. I called the store to inform them of what I experienced, and the owner argued a moment and then said to bring the crabs back and he will give me my money back. That was followed by a sharp disconnect via him hanging up the phone. Great, I was going to let things end there but when I bring the crabs in, the owner proceeded to open another crab and give me a lecture on how to eat crabs, he's been in business 27 years and he gives a good product, blah, blah, blah. SIR, I was born and raised in Maryland, so I've been eating crabs since I was 2! When I purchase food and you cook the food, I expect to be able to eat 100% of the food I purchased. Not 50%, not 60%, I expect to be able to eat 100% of what I purchase from your establishment. If you can't provide a quality product, then ONLY sell the seafood live. I wouldn't even be writing this review if you had not been so antagonistic and insulting. You are a business owner so act appropriately and produce the quality product you claim to provide. Good Day, Sir!

Large Crab Gumbo, not one shred of Crab, very disappointing for 12 bucks...this is basically a veggie stew.

Large Crab Gumbo...not one shred of Crab, very disappointing for 12 bucks...they should remove this gruel from the menu or rename it. This is NOT gumbo, I'm not going to point out all the ways its not but as you can see from the picture its basically veggie soup/stew and should be advertised as such.

Strictly take out. Fresh fish prices were higher than at area supermarkets
    Richard E.

Strictly carryout. Fried cod platter was lightly breaded and crisp. Average flavor. They would have earned better marks if they had removed the skin first though. Fresh fish and live lobsters and crabs. Prices here ate high compared to area grocery stores. Not sure I will return.

Sorry, I gobbled most the hush puppies on the way home...

So the common market has always been a huge staple for me and I really appreciate the variety of vegan and gluten free options they have every time I visit home. I've never really gone to the location in 7th street, but I decided yesterday morning to grab a bite to eat and order a drink. I never really anticipated a bad experience, and it wasn't all that terrible, however, the clerk completely forgot to make my breakfast wrap and there was a lady that ordered 10 mins after me that got her food before me. I was already half way through my drink and I was shocked. The clerk even looked at me and said "oh sorry I forgot about your wrap it's coming out soon". To top it all off I ended up getting sick when I ate half of it, and I feel like the only reason the wrap made me sick to my stomach was because the young man was rushing to get my order out. Not a very good first time experience at this location, and it's sad to say this will be my last time here because the last thing I need is food poisoning. Other than that, the cashiers were helpful and friendly and the store was nice and clean.

Not very Common for a market!!…read more Everything here is exceptional. I love all the fruit, I literally just ate a peach and was so compelled to write about it. The staff, while is mostly comprised of college age hippies are knowledgeable and actually care. The whole store is very clean and the meat counter while very small screams old school home made!! The sausages looked so good I had to buy some, and after cooking them up with some onions and peppers my neighbors above me who are vegans were peeking as they chewed their grass and had to rethink their decisions on eating food that my food eats. There are fresh made sandwiches that they will press for you and give it that grilled awesomeness that only comes when your doing something special with meat and cheese and good bread pressed with 400 degrees of steel resulting in a sandwich that makes you want to light a subway franchise on fire. Now on my most recent trip, covid is rampantly knocking off people so a lot of the fun stuff has been put away. Normally they have fresh cooked food that you can box up hot and take and eat. The selection ranges from American favorites like loaf of meat and spaghetti to Indian food to soups and salads ( spinach salad is good, the dressing makes it the bomb dot com ) and fresh cookies and breads oh my. ( Public Notice: no lions or tigers ) You will spend more money per item here than Walmart. They don't have as good of a selection as Wegman's. They don't have a coupon app thingy that makes you think your saving money like everyone else. But you will feel like your saving baby seals and once you leave and start to load stuff into your vehicle a rabbit will wink at you in a attempt to say thank you. The lesson here is pay more money for food that tastes like food and not canned crap. Yes, we all like to save money, and that's noble. But there is a time to eat your extra long chili cheese coney ( much love sonic ) and there is a time to bite into a peach and feel like your a little kid again and have wonderful sweet juice roll off your chin and life is once again, is worth living. Stay hungry my friends, - JW

It feels more like eating in a cafeteria than a seafood restaurant. If you're just after a straightforward meal and don't care about the vibe, it's fine, but for the price, I always expect a bit more character. You're forced to listen to the people talking next to you, hammers cracking, forks & knives clanking and cars driving by. Priced way too high for what it is. Crabs were decent not completely seasoned well. I'm baised as I'm an Old Bay die hard and would never put Jo's on crabs but that's just me. 3 stars if it were priced more appropriate, 4 if they're playing some music (crab house fun), if you combine atmosphere, priced more appropriate, and switch to Old Bay we're looking at 5 's. Fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw are excellent, did not try the soup. It's worth noting that I'm from Anne Arundel Co. Grew up going to crab houses my whole life in and around Annapolis. Many places mirror that vibe, Liberty Road just can't seem to get that part down or simply care not to, and that's fine. For me though it's an interval part of the crab house experience.
