    GO DUKE !
    Marissa M.

I finally made it to a Duke game. LETS GO DUKE ! Another win for the "Sisterhood" young women's team. My daughter's middle school team was lucky to score complimentary tickets through their league and although our seats were in the nosebleeds, the crowds on the floor cleared out after Half Time and lower level court side opened up for the team. My daughter and her team had a blast here. They were able to meet with the team after the game for pics and autographs. The staff were friendly and kept everything organized. The only downside here is the stadium parking garage is a mess. No easy way in. No easy way out. It took too long to get out of the 4th level. This was an inconvenience to me. Prepare to walk when entering Cameron. Wear supportive footwear. Great energy here and a good time !

Had a great time at the game. Not a bad seat in the house. Plenty of security and help. The best environment for a Basketball game!

Amazing atmosphere, and I would definitely come back to another Duke game. Go Blue Devils! All these seats have a spectacular view

What a barn! Intimate, yet majestic! Exudes character a definite"Fenway"effect! Comfort absolutely not but character abounds. My only advice is avoid sitting on the ends of the court. Courtside is amazing, right on top of the action. Not great for persons of size, I'm 6'5" about 250 lbs and the legroom was non-existent. The chairs are very small and look like replicas of my Comiskey Park seats. Cameron is a must for any basketball fans. 9,000 seats and a raucous fan base makes watching a game here incredible!

FULL DISCLOSURE: I am a Duke alumnus and this place is home to me. I cannot imagine anyone passing up the opportunity to see a game in this historic venue (even those of you that love to hate Duke) I have been here well over a hundred times and writing a review seems silly. I can only say that there is so much history in here. The intricacies of this tiny stadium are worth exploring for any sports fan. If you are lucky enough to see a game, the intimacy and energy of Cameron will take your breath away even if you are rooting against Duke. The student section has changed a lot from the first Cameron Crazies back in the 80s and Durham has grown and matured as city, but Cameron remains a must-see landmark in this area. Do not miss it!

Disclaimer: I am a Duke fan. But now that we've got that out of the way. If you want to learn about Duke University Basketball history and some sports history at Duke - great place to start. Little known fact: the University tries to offer guided tours as long as there is not a game or K-Ville fans lining up for tickets. Kevin was our tour guide and he is an alumnus of Duke. He was warm and friendly and extreme knowledgeable. I won't spoil what you get to experience in Cameron but it's worth the time if you are a fan or interested in the university. You are up close and personal with this polarizing landmark in the Durham community. Even had a devote UNC fan come along and he was impressed with the tour and kindness he was shown. The team store is across the walkway so you can go and get geared up on all the latest Duke sporting gear. This is not really a review, it's more of a thank you to the University for the opportunity and experience.

First time here at the legendary Cameron Indoor Stadium! Came here for the Duke vs NC State game. The stadium is much smaller then I thought it would be compared to seeing it on tv. The seats are a little cramped and not very comfortable but you should expect this with a stadium that was built in 1940, but the view is awesome. I honestly believe it doesn't matter where you sit you will have a great view of the court. With the Stadium being small I think this really helps with the views as well. I'm a Tarheels fan but slowing coming to the dark side. Can't wait to watch another game here!!

My dad and I went on a tour of Cameron before a football game at Duke. When you first go in, there is an array of old jerseys, newspaper clippings, and more that celebrate the team's successes through time. When you go in the wooden doors, there is a tv showing highlights from games and interviews, along with basketballs with the imprints of several players hands. There is a button you can press to get a feel of what it's like during a game at Cameron, which was really neat. Once going inside the basketball court, there are many banners with past championships. Although the actual stadium is rather small now, it was an amazing feeling to be inside. Also enjoyed that the tour guide was knowledgeable about their history.

As a college basketball fan, it doesn't get any better then historical Cameron indoor stadium! People say this place is small like it's a bad thing... with seating for only 9,314 its intimate...you are part of the game! This is the place you want to see a game at, whether your cheering on the home team Blue Devils or the visitors. I've been to many games here for men's and women's basketball and volleyball games. I know everyone says this but there really isn't a bad seat in the house! I have sat it the top row in the corner (section 9) and could see all the action, as well as been in section 19 on the floor (directly across from the cameron crazies in the student section. Tickets are actually easy to come by if you want to see a game here, it just depends on what game you want to see. Big difference in conference play vs non. If you search sites like craigslist and ebay you will find some deals or come to the stadium and wait for people selling tickets. (closer to game time or even once the game starts...they become super cheap) I bought tickets to Duke vs Maryland for $50. Non conference games or when students are away on break are your easiest way to get a ticket. The stadium will even sell general admission tickets during this time. ***tip make sure you show up early*** Doors normally open 1 hour prior to a game. I love the old school feel with the wooden stadium seats and benches but I was really happy when they installed air conditioning units in 2002 (it still gets really hot) The noise level is amazing, to hear all the chants from the crazies is intense. The only time they sit down is at halftime, they cheer and taunt all game long! Make sure you walk all the way around the upstairs corridor, all along the walls are large poster sized photo's of different game moments and huge display cabinets with more history and memorabilia. Right off the corridor is the hall of fame for all Duke athletics. Housing countless championship trophy's, photo's, jerseys and game balls showcasing many milestones. My favorite are all the championship cases on display. Definitely a must experience for any basketball fan.

Watched these Duke greats many times here at Cameron. --Battier, Sheldon Williams, Jay Williams, and my foxy fav, JJ Redick

Your alma mater? I'm sorry, it doesn't compare. Your student section? Wannabes. Your college's basketball coach? He secretly daydreams that he's Coach K. This place is the crown jewel of college basketball venues. If you love college basketball, you've got to experience this. Put your Duke hate *cough* envy aside; a Duke game at Cameron should be on every basketball fan's bucket list. It's small; yes it's small. It was built before it became the legendary program that it is today. Outsiders try to knock it because students have to camp out for tickets, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We don't want your mega stadium with your tacky jumbotron. You can keep them! Up until 2001, it didn't even have air conditioning and many alum even fought against that. We know something that many apparently do not. --tradition cannot be manufactured. I happen to share my last name with the man who might be an even bigger Duke fan than I. He camped out for 3 days in Krzyzewskiville with kidney stones just to get his name in the lottery. Throwing up in the bushes from pain, raging fever, sweaty shakes, sleeping on the ground in a tent, but he would not give up his spot. Was it worth it? He scored season tickets. And then he went straight to the hospital for a morphine cocktail. While there isn't a bad seat in the house, I miss the days of being in the student section. It's not quite the same to sit in the general seating. It's still crazy intense and the rafters are still ringing with the crazies belting out "Living on a Prayer", but nothing beats actually being with the mass of trust fund babies in blue wigs. I still fight the desire to put on my blue wig and watch old clips on YouTube ;) If you aren't a student and have to peruse online ticket sites for seats, don't be shocked by the ticket prices. Yes, they're $300-$500 each and yes, they are totally worth it. "Go to Hell, Carolina!" Once a Cameron Crazy, always a Cameron Crazy.

The air smells different in this place. The history the atmosphere - everyone always talks about it, but you just don't understand until you experience it for yourself. All of the stories are true. Games are very energetic and I now feel spoiled when going to any other sporting events. If you ever have a chance to go to a Duke basketball game DO NOT pass it up.

The dedication of this student going to games!

This is Cameron Indoor Stadium. Any true fan of basketball.. whether you like Duke college basketball or not needs to experience being at a game here. If you can somehow get tickets to a big game.. then EVEN BETTER! I was a graduate student here at Duke and graduated the year they won the National Championship in 2010 and had the privilege to attend a majority of their games those 2 years. I was even able to attend a game again after graduation and visit the stadium multiple times. There is just so much history here. Some of the current Non-Duke NBA players I've seen who are big now include Roy Hibbert, Stephen Curry, Greg Monroe, Greivis Vásquez, Jeff Teague... and of course.. a bunch of those.. UNC players. Coach K. has done an amazing job with all the Duke teams he has coached, consistently having them ranked as a top college basketball team year after year. This has produced a crazy fan base especially with the students. This stadium is not large by any means, the concept of it being small makes it one of the hardest places for college teams to play at. The students are placed all around the court to make the atmosphere and setting for the opponents not ideal by any means. The undergraduate students at massively packed on one of the long sidelines of the court, while the sidelines behind the basket house the graduate students. As for the atmosphere during the game, the students, also known as the Cameron Crazies, are the ones that make it so crazy. We have chants EVERY play, whether we are on offense or defense. It does not matter if we are up 30 points, the big lead is more of a reason to go nuts! Considering how small the stadium is, and somehow they can house 9000 people tells you how much they cram the students on the sidelines. The student sections are all standing room and just makes us all jump around and go crazy for all 40 minutes of the game! The band does a great job hyping the game up and students who attend the game get an update sheet about the opponent and everything we need to know about them (and of course.. what information is good to know about potential chants !) There is a reason why students stand in line hours before the game! The closeness to the court makes it very easy to communicate with players, coaches, and personalities alike. I was able to talk to Dick Vitale shortly before a game and even ESPN analyst Hubert Davis when Duke was facing UNC. One time I was walking through the back towards my area to watch the game.. and almost bumped into coach K by accident... sorry coach! Anyways, as for food here, it is very basic, with your typical hotdogs, pizza, and such during events. There is also a wing you can visit upstairs that shows many of the plaques, awards, and sporting memories of the various Duke sporting teams. Do yourself a favor, and if you are a basketball fan, try to experience the feeling of attending Cameron Indoor Stadium for a game.. and since the ACC got a bunch of new teams and is much stronger now, this is more of a reason for you TO ATTEND! I'm glad I attended at least one Duke vs UNC game... the energy in the arena at the rivalry games is something that cannot be explained except through you actually attending. Tickets are just very hard to come by since seating is very limited. Unless you try to attend a preseason game or a game during the winter (when students are on break), your best bet is to use third party sites like Stubhub.. but be prepared to pay ! And to compare.. I do my best to attend Duke games when they play by my area.. but yes, the atmosphere is not the same.

We were here for BDD2014 (ie Blue Devil Days for admitted students). Outside, the building is an unassuming structure that blends right into the rest of the campus. Right on Krzyzewskiville, Cameron stands among all the sports facilities in West campus. Once inside, you'll be in awe of all the banners hanging from the rafters...of retired numbers and NCAA accomplishments. It was great being inside this historical building for a basketball fan like myself. Definitely, Cameron Indoor Stadium was the highlight of our college tour. The most notable NBA players that came from Duke were Grant Hill, JJ Redick, and Shane Battier. There are many other basketball greats from this school. The school population is such huge basketball fans, students camp out for season tickets for men's basketball for days. In an adjoining building was the Hall of Honors with the Hall of Fame downstairs, where all kinds of memorabilia, honors, and trophies were on exhibit. There was even an enclave for you to step into and experience the atmosphere of the Cameron crazies.

The field is well maintained and played true -- Sunday hops everyday! Fans RAVED over the bleachers. Plenty of SHADED seating, practically a wind tunnel that was easily 10-15 degrees cooler compared to being on field in late June. Small parking lot was enough for our games. Restrooms were under the bleachers.

There are also some large fans to help move some air as it gets hot and humid in Durham. The tickets are reasonably priced and it is good baseball. Parking can be a little tricky.. if you come from the right direction, you are pushed right into the parking garage. If you come from the wrong direction, which we did, you run into a lot of closed roads, etc. But it worked out. Definitely buy tickets ahead of time. We showed up once two years ago thinking(like most minor league games) you could get a ticket before the game... They were sold out. So we bought tickets on line. Also, if you want to get a spot in the garage, be there at least 30-45 min early. I am sure there is free parking somewhere that locals know about, but I just went with the 7$ parking. They also sell Durham Bull beer there which isnt half bad!! This is a great park and was a good time!
