Situated amongst the academic halls, the stadium is a bit of a walk from nearby parking. The arena essentially has been the same since its construction and has a capacity for 9314 spectators, making it one of the smallest venues for NCAA basketball. That makes it a tough and expensive ticket to get. I was there last Saturday for their game against the SMU Mustangs who are / were ranked in the top twenty five, so of course the crowd was extra lively. Also, they honored the '01 championship team and Coach K was in attendance. It was a great experience. This arena is "hallowed ground" amongst the fandom of college basketball. The history and tradition of Duke University and their basketball program is unmatched in my honest opinion. I'm lucky enough to have attended two games here, the last one being in '18 against my Alma Mater St John's University who got blown out that day. The amenities here are enough to keep you happy. They have the usual arena fare. Smithfield's has a sandwich cart and there are a few Mexican themed carts for nachos and tacos. I think Alpaca Peruvian Chicken has a cart as well. The concessions offer candy, popcorn, burgers, hot dogs etc.. Nothing extraordinary. You can purchase beer and wine. You are here to watch great basketball and not necessarily for the A+ concession offerings that people expect these days.

Been to a few games there now and there's nothing like it. Staff is very friendly and helpful in every way from scanning your tickets to finding your seats. With less than 10,00 seats here, to watch one of the best programs in the country play, this place gets insane! The Cameron Crazies and all the fans get very loud in here. The energy is unmatched. Make sure to come and check out the campus prior to the game, it's absolutely beautiful. Also go check out the campus stores for all your Duke gear/memorabilia needs. I have a man cave in my home with all Duke stuff, which mostly came from here. There's one right across from the stadium. DDMF!

Most of the seats are individual seats as opposed to backless metal bleachers. They have lots of concession stands and while I'm not a Duke fan it was pretty cool they had an area where Duke fans could ring the victory bell to celebrate their win over UNC. They also have a ton of restrooms so there's not much of a wait. The stadium is mostly outside so it works well on a clear day but I imagine it could be a mess in a heavy rain. I didn't sit there but for an extra charge you can sit on the party deck where I think you get some free food and a cash bar and a side of an awful DJ. Be prepared to wait for an Uber after the game. There's not really a designated place as far as I could tell so we just walked a ways away on campus and ordered from there. They should think about fixing that. The stadium works for what is, a smaller ACC venue and I'd come back here if FSU plays here again sometime.

Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but they do have garage parking available within a short walk. The ballpark itself is nestled among corporate offices which adds to the great view from any seat. The play equipment was fun and in great shape. The walking paths were very pretty. The building has bathrooms inside which is great, although more than half of the stalls were lacking toilet paper. The grounds consisted of native plants, lush trees, magnolias, open green spaces with benches for resting and incredible buildings of Gothic architecture. The stadium has updated it's field...and the Eagles and the Marching Sound Machine look great as they play and perform. The stands are comfortable in the sense of stadium seating. Concessions at the stadium range from potato chips and popcorn to fish and chicken platters. You can even get funnel cake if desired. Security is always great!! And views of the surrounding campus areas is really nice. Especially the new practice/soccer field. The track is very nice! I used to be a runner, but only wish we had such high tech fields in the past.

As I waited in line, I witnessed a student who was trying to follow the proper rules for having a spouse receive a card. English was not this person's first language and I witnessed the card office employee 1) speaking very rapidly 2) speaking loudly and generally NOT trying to facilitate the transaction that their office is supposed to handle. I had a similar experience with being turned away from having my child receive an id (for the family gym membership that we've been paying for) because we hadn't jumped through the various hoops (which take DAYS to process) THEY NEVER INFORMED US WE NEEDED TO DO. Physically going to the office is a massive pain: there's barely any parking and there is usually a line---so being turned away for not doing something that we weren't told we needed to do---is frustrating.

That said, the experience is fairly modest and doesn't take long to see. The facility feels more focused on serving local baseball than catering to tourists, and while you can still picture scenes from the film, visitors expecting a polished attraction may come away a bit underwhelmed. In a funny way, maybe that's part of the authenticity. The worn-down feel and lack of frills almost provide an honest glimpse into what minor league baseball was like for generations of players....long on character, short on luxury. While that perspective gave me something to appreciate, it wasn't enough to make the visit a destination in itself. For fellow Bull Durham fans, it's worth a quick stop if you're already nearby, but I wouldn't dedicate a significant portion of your trip to it. If you're attending a game or actually getting the chance to step onto the field, I suspect the experience would be considerably more memorable.

Plenty of SHADED seating, practically a wind tunnel that was easily 10-15 degrees cooler compared to being on field in late June. Small parking lot was enough for our games.
