Beautiful stadium with plenty of restrooms and concession stands. Parking however, is extremely limited around the stadium. You can park in one of the surrounding lots and take a bus shuttle. The lines for the shuttles after a game are VERY long. You'll need to walk quite a bit so keep that in mind if you have children or people who cannot walk long distances. It can take 45 minutes or longer just to get to your vehicle and be on your way again. Overall, it's a great facility but make sure you allow enough time for parking.

Kenan Stadium is a great place to watch a football game and a few improvements have been made in recent years. The torturous (after an hour or so) steel bleachers have been replaced by individual seats and you can now purchase cold beer at the games. They also installed field turf earlier this year, which looks pretty sharp. Definitely worth checking out but be warned that the concourse areas can get insanely crowded during halftime, so plan your food/restroom runs accordingly.

What a great place to see the Tarheels Kick some tail, Clean, great sound, great crowds, Bathrooms are very crowded and they do not sell beer. LOL My only negative hence the 4 rather than 5 stars, No Wi-Fi, Verizon is a sponsor, Time Warner is huge in NC and no Wi-Fi and the stadium it self is a black hole for connectivity for Verizon. Weird, Sponsor and I can not connect my phone to post to YELP. Come on verizon bust lose with some connectivity. Have fun People and go HEELS!

There is a tremendous level of pride at the University of North Carolina and the Kenan family name is prominent. The most prominent is the beautiful state of the art football stadium located just off the Bell Tower on the Chapel Hill campus. 1. There is not a bad seat in the house. Not too big and big enough to make it loud 2. Fireworks, bands, cheerleaders and dancers all making for a great half time show 3. Jumbo tron screen is amazing and such clarity 4. Many entrance points 5. Great concessions with bottomless popcorn for $10.00. 6. Shade on one side and sun on the other (personal choice) 7. Overhang seating in the event of rain Overall, such a great stadium and great experience to be part of a game there.

Yes, that was the team I played on, mind you, I had about 4 pretty tough guys playing with the two of us ladies that were on the team. I managed to "dodge, dip, duck, dive & dodge" the ball as the pre-training from the movie "Dodgeball" emphasizes. It was a fun time with a great group of people, if you're so brave as schedule yourselves in there and play dodgeball or anything in a team atmosphere, go for it, its an awesome place.

Drowning out parents' chants of support for their kids? Childish. UNC should be ashamed to allow their supporters to drown out the sounds of proud chants and call-outs for the visiting kids, and then follow it up with mocking the visiting team's players. Mocking student athletes sweating their heart and soul out on the field? What the hell kind of parent does that? UNC parents do. At least one UNC fan sitting on our side yelled out "show some class!" One. We would yell over to the UNC parents, "what did you just say?" and they'd turn into crickets. We never said a negative thing about a UNC player and never tried to reciprocate their behavior. I was tempted to video them to post on social media but, again, don't go low, go high. They were disgusting cowardly bullies. Even we visitors would acknowledge a good score by UNC because an athlete made an awesome move and we support and honor ALL athletes. Granted it wasn't exuberant, but a polite clap and "wow, great score, we still got this, though!" Shame on you, UNC, and the parents who demean others. You ruined a spirited and fun event with rude, arrogant and selfish actions. No wonder the world laughs at this "me me me" school. Nuts don't fall far from the tree.

The rafters are home to a collection of jerseys that could make up the roster for an NBA Legends team, featuring names like Jordan, Worthy, Perkins and Jamison, along with the coach for whom the building is named -- the legendary Dean E. Smith. With a capacity of nearly 22,000, it's one of the largest venues in college hoops, and there's rarely an empty seat in the house when the Heels are playing. The energy here is indescribable -- from the electric pregame festivities to the halftime show, it's one of the best experiences in all of college sports. In 2025, the University of North Carolina began discussions about replacing the 40-year old Dean Dome with a new arena, either elsewhere on campus or at Carolina North, a planned satellite campus a few miles north in Chapel Hill. But while the Dome's aging roof and narrow concourses support a credible argument for a replacement, it's hard to imagine the UNC campus without it. Here's hoping the UNC Board of Trustees sees the wisdom of renovating this wonderful arena to ensure it's continued role in college basketball lore. The Dean Smith Center is an experience no fan of the game should miss!

The arena essentially has been the same since its construction and has a capacity for 9314 spectators, making it one of the smallest venues for NCAA basketball. I was there last Saturday for their game against the SMU Mustangs who are / were ranked in the top twenty five, so of course the crowd was extra lively. Also, they honored the '01 championship team and Coach K was in attendance. It was a great experience. This arena is "hallowed ground" amongst the fandom of college basketball. The history and tradition of Duke University and their basketball program is unmatched in my honest opinion. I'm lucky enough to have attended two games here, the last one being in '18 against my Alma Mater St John's University who got blown out that day. The amenities here are enough to keep you happy.
