For runners, Duke East Campus is an ideal spot for short distance. Sitting right about 1.7 miles…read morearound the loop, the trail is gravel, about half shaded, half sun and has gradual slopes throughout. You right parallel to the road the whole way round, so there's lots to look at and keep you engaged. There's always plenty of people on the trail, walking, running, taking their dogs on a jog or having a family outing. Since you're always in the sight of traffic and there's almost always a handful of people around, this trail is definitely one of the safer spots in Durham. There's a couple places where there are large roots in the ground and a handful of vehicle entrances that you should be aware of. The downsides are no bathrooms or water fountains (although there's a Whole Foods along the path, so if it's an emergency, I'd recommend running there stat!) Parking is available inside the campus or in the neighborhoods that line the campus. If you're not into running, there are also tennis courts on Duke East, free to play and lighted (there are certain hours, mostly during the day, when the courts are reserved for practice). If you're a beginning runner, this is a great trail to start out on.

When I applied to this law school, I was told by the locals it was a great institution. After two…read moresemesters, I found it to be one of the worst. I studied the way the professors exactly instructed to pass the class but they grade on a completely different basis. They brag about how much help they give but the tutors are of little help and the counselors are even more useless. I understood law school was not easy but I had friends at other, higher ranked law schools who did not work as hard as I did and they were getting higher grades than I was. This school seemed focused on squeezing out as many of the undesirables as possible just so they can brag about their status when they rank in the bottom 50 law schools in the nation. The professors are extremely unhelpful, especially the property law professors, who seem to think teaching outdated uses of law is the way to go. I was never as happy as when I got out of this institution. Do yourself a favor, score higher on your LSAT, apply to better more prestigious law schools than this poor excuse of an institution.
