I had been to a Mercedes dealer for an airbag warning light. The Mercedes Dealer said it would cost $3,455.88 to get the problem fixed. The plug-in seat sensor was unplugged. The Team at Cambridge fixed it for $45.00. The dealer had suggested other work that was very expensive. Cambridge Street Auto told me it was all unnecessary. Came here for two auto inspections. The guys are really fast and each one only took 10 minutes. They're also very friendly and talk you through it too. HOWEVER: Show up early and on time!! Otherwise, you may end up in a long line of customers and not get your car back for hours. One issue though, I show up exactly at opening hours, but sometimes the front desk doesn't open for 30 minutes or more. But that's the price I pay for trying to get first in line. Had been going to them for a few months without issue however in the past week my husband and I had two horrible experiences. Brought my car in for an oil change and 3 days later my car started acting funny (sounding really loud and started having tons of white smoke coming from my exhaust). Took it to another mechanic and was told when getting an oil change my car should only get about 4 quarts of oil and I had over 7. Extremely negligent and luckily the other mechanic was able to fix it before any long term damage was done. Then my husband brought his car in the day after my oil change and even though he called daily and they promised to look at it every day, he did not get his car back until 5 days later. read more

Please never go there. You'll instantly regret it. I paid over $2,000 for repairs on my vehicle. I waited several weeks and every few days I would call and check in and ask how the repairs were going. Each and every single time they A) they hadn't started but hoped to soon and B) they kept forgetting what they were supposed to fix and had to ask me for clarification several, several times. They are way over their heads and their ability to conduct a business is frightening. Keep in mind when I only dropped my car off in the first place because they promised it'd be fixed in a few days. It ended up taking 17 days. So much uncertainty, such as waste of time. And then when I finally got my car back I drove off the lot and it wasn't driving correctly. It felt off and shaky, it felt like I left the lot with MORE problems than when I started... almost as if they do the shady things you're warned about... like they purposely ruin a few items in your car to keep you coming back. These guys are so shady, I don't trust them for a minute. There are so many more professional and knowledgable people out there, especially in the Allston area. In my opinion, this should be your last, last, last resort if the world is burning down and you need a fix. Trust me, I'm saving you from so many headaches. Go somewhere else. read more

I came here through a recommendation of a friend. It's a fantastic place, I can't say enough about it. Brian and his crew will take care of you with whatever you need, whether it's car repairs, maintenance, modifications etc. They are some of the most knowledgeable, nicest and I stress-honest mechanics around. I took my car here after falling for what seemed legit, poi's it I've reviews. However, 'y experience was just the opposite. Work that should've taken a day or less, took over a week. I called everyday after the fourth day, because I never received a status call back. When I finally did speak to Brian, he did not know which car was mine, speaking about a different model and work. Immediately, I lost faith in them. This was only exacerbated by my having to call back, again, to demand that they have my car ready to go by a set time the next day. They did. I was treated by a desk attendant who reeked of alcohol who also seemed confused as to what car I was picking up. Bryan did come out to hand me my keys and close the transaction but as soon as I attempted to leave the lot...the EXACT SAME ISSUE FOR WHICH I BROUGHT IT IN HAPPENED! They had my car for over a week and it did the exact same thing for which I brought it in. Of course, they scrambled about, saying that it must be something else and offered to fix that for free. Then they offered to refund a portion of labor. However, a week later, they still hadn't refunded me. Instead, they'd charged me twice. That meant I had to haul myself back to their shop, a week later, to demand that they fix yet another mistake. At that time, my check engine light had mysteriously come on again, but I didn't bother even trying to argue that issue. Further, since then, I've had issues with the stuff they supposedly fixed. I find myself back at another mechanic, hoping that they're not as disorganized and dishonest as Bryan and his crew. read more

I bring my car here every time I need a repair. They are honest, reasonable and always have my car ready for me by the time I leave work when I leave it there in the morning before work. I had a very bad experience at a station near my home. The man charged me $95 to look at my car and he gave me a false diagnosis. I brought the the guys over at Cambridge Street the next day and they correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed it right away. I also recently had an issue where my bumper was hanging off in the front. I was told it was a simple fix and wasn't charged a cent. These guys are awesome. Really the best. Before i start writing my review i just wanted to say this name is a lot better than the original one. Its simple, easy to say, and it corresponds with the street name their shop is on. Anyway, I have been coming to this location since 2012 and have always been a satisfied customer. I have been living in the city since 2010 and it is about a 12 minute drive excluding traffic (eyes rolling). Enough with my blah blah blah... i recently had my tires swapped (Porsche Cayenne) out for new ones, 4 wheel alignment and mount and balancs. Took about two hours (i didnt mind waiting since there is no point of taking uber or the T back to my place) do other things and then go all way the back. It was close to two hours and they were done. I was very with the work they got done in a timely manner. No scratch done to the wheels. I will be coming back here for other services besides getting my cars inspected here even though the RMV has completely screwed up the inspection system (eyes rolling). This auto shop used off market part to fix my car. I have evidences on that. It cost me around $1000 to fix car there, but finally the car got worse and worse until total broke down. Never trust them, they will completely destroy your car and kept letting you invest more and more money on your car. And they never felt guilty on that. I had a horrible experience with this auto shop. Dropped my car off for bumper repair and was told it would be ready in 1-3 days. I had to call the shop daily for updates when I got no word on my car's status 3 days later. Due to mis-ordering parts and paints, I went 1 full week without my car, twice as long as estimated! Additionally, I was continually told that the car would "100% be ready tomorrow" for 3 days straight. They promised to call me 3 times and not once did the shop contact me without me calling first. No price reduction or anything for the inconvenience, which just shows how little they care about me as a person. Made the worst of an already bad situation following a car accident. read more
