We love Calypso Cafe! They have the best breakfast, sandwiches, and desserts. Our go to sandwiches are the Coronado and the Grilled Tuna Melt. We love the cannolis and other sweet treats too. The owner is so sweet and they really have the best service. It's a great convenience shop/restaurant for the area and the ambiance is so clean and homey. We will definitely be back to Calypso's soon!

Everything is very fresh, and homemade, and delicious. Even better than my ex-girlfriend used to make.

Highly recommended!! Food and services were perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is such an adorable, out-of-the way place to have great food and just sit and relax and enjoy good company and conversation! Had no idea this restaurant was even there. We'll definitely go back again in the future!

My God I haven't had fish tacos this good in 30 years, when my father and I used to get up at 5:00 in the morning head to Ensenada and have fresh caught fish tacos brings back great memories and now I'm having them here close to home, on Tuesdays they're $2 each great service great food, and no these ain't your everyday tiny little tacos these are large size, we're so lucky they're just in our backyard

I have been trying to try this place for about 2 years and finally made it! Always had time to go on a Sunday, but they are closed. Very friendly staff, beautiful view and great food. We went Saturday midmorning and they were making fresh paella, which was filled with many types of seafood and sausages. We could maybe finish half the portion, the rest we took for a late afternoon snack. The breakfast burrito was very good, I wanted it to be a bit bigger. On burrito size, it was on the smaller side, but delicious. The gyros plate was great too, needed a bit more tzatziki, but we could have asked for more. Great dock and dine place in the south bay!

Stopped by Calypso for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The Mediterranean food was excellent, the hamburger was great, and the sandwiches were delicious as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very kid-friendly. Highly recommend!

We were camping at Silver Strand State Beach and decided to go out to breakfast the day we were leaving. The Calypso was literally across the road from the campground. They have Fantastic food. Really nice employees. Definitely worth going to.

This is a small mom and pop's eatery that is tucked inside a large community, The Coronado Cays, California. The owner is a hands-on person. This place is a fusion restaurant between the mediterranean and the West, with a touch of Asian spices. The restaurant serves both permanent items on the menu and daily surprises of outstanding dishes.

I'm not even a coffee drinker, but I tried the iced mazapan latte with oatmilk and was pleasantly surprised, it was creamy, slightly sweet, and actually really good. I'd order it again! My husband got a cortado with 3 shots and said it was smooth, robust, not too bitter, and perfectly balanced. He gave it an 8/10. Big shoutout to Josh for being so patient and helping us decide what to order, seriously amazing customer service. And shoutout to Tommy for making our drinks perfectly! Super cute spot with great vibes and even better service. Definitely worth stopping by.

It looks like it might end where the corner is, but it extends all the way in. Note that it still fills up quick on the weekends. Very cute interior, coffee, cups, everything. The menu looks like graphic design was someone's passion, although I low key wonder if AI was used. The mazapan latte was a bit too creamy for me, but as someone that usually takes their coffee black, that's probably my fault for ordering something like that. The scrambled eggs were fluffy, and I like how they were mixed in. The cheese was a nice touch. Sometimes, I think refried beans + potato is too dry, but these beans were not as thick and the potato was also surprisingly soft and warm. It also came with some nice tortillas. Finally, a shout-out for this special hot sauce. It's deceptively hot for how sweet and syrupy it looks and feels. Quite tasty. I wouldn't mind purchasing a bottle of this.

We came on a Saturday and waited about 30 minutes to be seated--and let me be clear: this was not a wait, this was worthy anticipation. The interior alone is was everything! With Valentine's Day around the corner, the place is dressed like it's about to propose--warm, charming, cozy, and flirting with your serotonin. I started with the banana matcha, which arrived crowned with the cutest little bear ice cube I have ever seen in my life. I'm talking weaponized cute. The flavor? Smooth, balanced, lightly sweet, and comforting in a way that made me feel emotionally supported. I didn't just drink it--I healed. Then came the machaca. Listen. This dish did to me what that scene in Ratatouille did to that critic--except instead of a French childhood flashback, I was spiritually transported to a Mexican tia's kitchen I'm not even sure I've lived in. Deeply savory, perfectly seasoned, rich without being heavy. Every bite whispered, "You've been hungry for this your whole life." My husband ordered the huevos divorciados, but they were so good we convinced them to give their marriage another shot. Perfectly cooked eggs, sauces with actual personality, and a harmony so strong it felt like couples therapy on a plate. And then--the salsa. Served warm, spicy, and oil-based (the holy trinity), presented in a literal swan container. A SWAN. Regal. Dramatic. Slightly unhinged in the best way. I would've signed a lease for that salsa. The only tragedy of the entire experience is that I got full. Genuinely devastating. I would've happily kept eating until they had to roll me out wrapped in Valentine's decor. El Encanto isn't just delicious--it's joyful, playful, soulful, and absolutely worth every minute of the wait. I'll be back, hungrier and emotionally prepared next time. Elite Squad, if you're listening: this place understood the assignment.

Lets talk about the vibes first...amazing decor and vibes, decor and walls and atmosphere is very cool and unique I truly love it so much. The staff is very nice, offering suggestions on drinks with big smiles and welcoming energy. Now the drinks and food: the drink I got last time was an iced mocha (no picture but I remember it was very good). This time I went with my mom and we both got the "Moon" drink.. a Chai/Matcha which was such a good drink, I want like a 40oz of it to take with me home for the week. I also ordered the pesto turkey sandwhich to share and I can not express how good this was. Perfectly crispy, juicy and fresh. Took the first bite and literally gasped because not only was the bread toasted to perfection but the veggies and turkey were so flavorful. The veggies and pesto and turkey were also layered in a way that made every bite delectable and that to me is art. Loved it, want more of it and I WILL be back to try more drinks and sandwhiches.

It's third ave I mean if you are from San Diego you know it's either neighborhood parking or the meters. Not a big deal though. I am greeted by Karely and her big smile, one of the baristas. It is tiny location but long, they have two gender neutral bathrooms at the end. A few tables to sit down inside and out. A cute bench with the view of third ave traffic. Interior decor is super cute I loved, one of my favs was this board they have which is a basically you pay a coffee forward and you put the sticky there for the next person to get their drink. I totally don't work there so I would just reconfirm what can be redeemed. Drink: I get an iced dirty chai WITH banana cold foam. 10/10 must try. They also offer matcha for you matcha lovers. Our server was Chris and he was OUTSTANDING...very attentive and very friendly. Both managers visited our table several time to make sure we were good. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that what I had was just a bit underwhelming. We ordered the braised beef potstickers, california roll, and grilled and chilled shrimp for appetizers. The meat in the potstickers was very mushy. The california roll was decent. The grilled and chilled shrimp were fine. My husband had the filet - ordered medium well, served medium...the twice baked potato was very small and seemed to be overcooked. I had the lemon chicken entree - the taste was good, but was just a bit dry...it was served with fries, which was fine. The other couple ordered the skirt steak and the braised short ribs which they seemed to enjoy. My drink was amazing - the Amalfi Spritz. For dessert, we tried the butter cake...again, a bit underwhelming and not really good on flavor...I did taste the toffee and caramel, but the cake itself had no taste.
